I will not go here again. Sneaky and not very forthright in the way they do things. I called to get a quote for contact lens fitting. They said somewhere around $90. They also mentioned that there's a promotion of $99 for fitting and free contacts or glasses. This is not quite true because it does not apply to those with astigmatism or those who need dailies. That's fine, but don't try to tell me that I'm getting "free contact lenses" as you give me trial lenses (worth 3 days) for the purpose of contact lens fitting. One of the optometrists recommended a new type of contact lens. I wait a week to go back and pick up the trials. A different optometrist looked at how they fit and told me that they should've ordered another pair with a different axis. Why didn't they figure it out the first time? So I wait another week and have to go back. By the time we figured out which contact lenses to go with, it had been more than three weeks since my first appointment. When they emailed me the prescription, I noticed the prescription was backdated to three weeks ago. When I asked if they could provide me with a prescription reflecting the date on which I actually received it, they first said no. I have been to numerous optometrists for the last 10 years, and no one has given me a backdated prescription. They said just this one time -- as a huge favor to me -- they would give me a prescription reflecting the date on which they actually gave it to me. Thanks for the "huge favor," but this will be the last time I use your service. read more

I love this place and everyone working there. Every year we go back for all our eyeglasses and contact needs. Sometimes I feel like they don't understand what I am saying to them because they just nod but I think that's a culture thing. We even moved out of LA area and down to Orange County but I don't trust any other optometrist with my eye exams or contact lenses so they are worth the long drive. What won me over even more was that last year we had to make a trip to get the exam done and order the supplies and another trip for the contacts fitting and pick up our supplies. We were about 30 mins late stuck in LA traffic on a Friday afternoon and called to let them know and they waited for us after the shop closed. If you want honest excellent service and don't want to get ripped off at the Pearls, Lenscrafters and Sears Opticals out there, Optikos is the place to go! They have a great selection of frames and designer sunglasses and last year they let us use our eye insurance to pay for designer sunglasses since they were covered under my insurance and we didn't need eyeglasses that year. We are about to run out of our contact lenses supplies and I will be calling them soon to schedule an appointment for the whole family to see them. read more

I walked in because I saw the $99 promotion outside the building. They were extremely friendly and were able to do my eye/contact lense exam right when I walked in. I found this place on Yelp and chose it based on the reviews. I called in to see if they had an appointment for tomorrow (Thursday) and sure enough they did. I realized I couldn't wait because my current contacts were old and irritating my eyes. I called back and they got me right in within 10 minutes of my call. The Dr. was lovely! She answered all my questions and explained everything thoroughly. The front desk gentleman was friendly and adorable as well. I was in and out within 20-25 mins. I can rave all day about how great this place is! I'm SO glad decided to try this place out. Dr. Chang is sweet, smart & very clear with everything she does. The prices & customer service are also amazing. They're very patient & I didn't feel pushed when choosing my glasses; something very common at other places. They also validate parking for 2 hours, my glasses were ready in an hour! My boyfriend decided to get checked too, & he ended up needing reading glasses. They literally took 10 minutes to be ready. I called and made an appointment for today 1 week ago but when I called back today (appointment date) to ask the time (coz I forgot), I was told I wasn't on the list. This is the most pleasant, easy, and affordable experience I've ever had at an optometrist. I've made the mistake of going to Cotsco for years, believing it was more affordable. Boy was I wrong! A lovely environment, and I didn't have to wait at all. Dr.Joo was very sweet and very thorough. All of the sales staff were extremely helpful, and didn't try to upsell me. No attitudes here, even when I changed my appointment countless times. Best? My glasses were done within fifteen minutes and they were perfect. They even hunted me down at the local Starbucks to let me know that I was ready to go. I got a copy of my prescription, and the very kindly explained it to me in case I wanted to get glasses elsewhere. One of the best Optometry's in the city! They are fast and efficient. I brought one of my own glasses and prescription in to change the lens and they were ready by the next day. I was impressed in how fast they had them ready. 70 dollars for a contact lense exam?! Count me in! I called in, made an appointment for the next day, and as soon as I arrived for my appointment they took me. I am 26, have been wearing glasses since I was in the third grade but didn't use them very often, as I can still see with out them. The doctor explained to me in depth why I really should've been wearing my glasses more often in my developing stages. Arrived early and was seen right away. Female doctor was quick but efficient which I liked. Picked out frames and came back a week later to get them. I have super dry eyes and I found my holy grail pair of dailies. The staff here is incredible. They helped me with a pair of glasses that needed repairs.
