Pair the tasting with all the stories behind the winery, and it's easily one of the more interesting experiences in Paso. The staff is also incredibly friendly and makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The patio is a beautiful spot to taste, and if you're there later in the day, the sunset views are hard to beat. Definitely do the free cave tour while you're there. It's one of the coolest winery tours I've been on. The caves are a massive labyrinth carved into the hillside and naturally stay around 55 degrees year round, which is where they age a lot of their wine before bottling. Even if you've been to a lot of wineries, this is something a little different. At the time I'm writing this, tastings are still complimentary, which is almost unheard of these days. If you go, do them a favor and leave with a bottle or two. That's how places like this are able to keep offering experiences like this, and honestly, you'll probably want to take some wine home anyway.

The 1954 Jeep tour took us throughout the vineyard where we saw the vines up close and so many deer. Brian educated us on the wine process. He walked us through the family history as well as the history of the vineyard. Wines were great! We bought several bottles of The Crash wine. There's a good story that goes with that name and no - it's not about the Jeep. Outside the tasting room is a nice covered patio. This was our last and one of our best stops in Paso.

She let us try most everything and we ended up with almost a case of bottles. As someone who works in the industry, I so appreciate the excellent customer service. Tobin had all the funky 90s charm one wants. Their wine was not bad! I especially liked the rock n roll Syrah. The classic Zin (what they're known for) is quite jammy so keep that in mind. If you go inside, just ask for fish food. They give one little cup to each person (so they don't get over fed). It's plenty enough. Our toddler enjoyed feeding them. There's no barrier or gate or anything between the patio and pond, so make sure you watch your toddler! As for the wines, we did a tasting and I honestly can't remember because Bianchi was our 3rd winery. I drank so much already and was buzz. My husband bought 2 bottles, at least I can try them at home now. They also had a pizza vendor. We also ordered a charcuterie board. Super fun winery for kids!

The grounds are gorgeous, the sculptures throughout the property are genuinely impressive, and the music and scene were a great backdrop. The wine itself seemed perfectly decent. But the experience on the ground was bad enough that none of that mattered by the time we left. We didn't have a reservation, that's on us. But the website says reservations are recommended, not required, so we figured we'd try anyway. From the moment we walked in, it was clear we weren't wanted. The hostess hustled us into a side room, then walked off, at which point a server immediately told me -- not pleasantly -- that I was standing in the wrong place. When I asked about a few wines I was interested in, I was met with a clear lack of interest, capped off by being rudely told to just get a glass of muscat, like the suggestion was as much about getting rid of me as it was a recommendation. So that's what we did, and then we left. We tasted at several other wineries in Paso Robles that day and had wonderful experiences at every one of them. Staff who were warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely happy to have us, reservation or not. Sculpterra was the only stop where we walked away having spent next to nothing, and it's the only place on the entire trip we'll never go back to, no matter how nice the grounds are. Beautiful property, but the people working the floor that day made it clear they didn't want our business, so we obliged.
