I saw this restaurant had over a 4 rating in Google reviews, and Ive been dying to find a Chinese fast food place since moving to Alhambra last summer so I have this place a try. It was really easy to find and in a highly populated shopping center. The customer service was excellent from the second I opened the door. Greeted with a warm "welcome" from the person behind the counter and on her feet ready to take an order. I was followed in by another person and the lady from the back came out and provided the same great and inviting service. A+ for that! I noticed there was only one patron, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially on a rainy day. The food all looked delicious and of course I had to order the orange chicken. Along with all chow mein and black pepper chicken. All for only $12! Good deal! I ordered to go and to be fair I tried the food as soon as I got to my car. Unfortunately this is where I was somewhat disappointed. Everything was cold or luke warm at best. I tried a bite of all items and packed it up to take home and reheat. I will admit, once reheated all items tasted great! The orange chicken is very unique and not anything like mainstream "panda" (not a fan). Very good. Black pepper chicken was on point and the the chow mein was nice. Aside from being cold, I would recommend this place and will go back at a different time of day (I went at 5:30pm) in hopes that the food will be hot and maybe the orange chicken has a little more crispiness to it. read more

Was looking for something quick and found this "fast food" restaurant. Lots of choices and combos were reasonably priced. The noodles and rice were just okay. I think this is the best Americanized-Chinese fast food joint in the SGV. I've been coming here for over 20 years and their food is always on point, especially their orange chicken! Makes sense why the place is called Orange Chicken, can't mess that up with that kind of name and they definitely live up to it! I usually get their half fried rice, half chow mein, and orange chicken combo. The combo meal comes with a drink (extra $.40 or so for Horchata/Orange Bang). I've also had their Kung Pao Chicken, Potato Chicken, Beef/String Beans, and I was not disappointed at all. Everyone that I've taken here, loves it! I haven't had one complaint from anyone I introduced to this spot. Tip: Just make sure you get your food when it's busy (lunch/dinner). During these times, they are constantly making FRESH food for customers. Don't go when its past those hours because you will risk the food not being fresh (this goes for any Chinese fast food places). Came here on a rainy day and when I got home the food I ordered (orange chicken and chow mein with two vegetables egg roll) was still good. Chicken was tendered and noodle wasn't soggy from it's own heat while it was in my car. Portion was pretty huge for both chow mein and orange chicken. They checked in with outs about condiments at which point we were able to opt out of them as well as plastic forks.
