    Pork Jerky Fried Rice

Shoutout to Peter and Lisa for recommending this place to us. Negatives: -ambiance, location is a little small and you'll need to park across the street. Positives: -food, the food was good and the portions were. We loved the rice and fried chicken. We also got the pad kee mao and the pork jerky fried rice, they were delicious too. -prices were very good and reasonable -service was standard Overall 5/5 We will definitely be coming back to try the other dishes.

Everything was yummy and flavorful! We had more than enough food for two and our server was friendly and helpful!

I usually order the chicken rice to-go from this place because the portions are generous, and it still tastes great even the next day (so I didn't get a chance to take a photo). This time I tried the Pad See Ew, which was really delicious and tasted just like what I've had in Thailand. The staff are friendly and provide good service. The restaurant has plenty of seating, with a small parking lot in the back and lots of free street parking nearby.

Delicious as always. Good service, nice portions. Flavorful variety in menu. Good deals occasionally for free drinks.

This is a tiny Thai spot with very few seating inside Parking is a little challenging since the lot isn't too big but there is street parking available Went on a Saturday at 1pm and the staff wasn't friendly or welcoming at all. Keep in mind that it wasn't even busy (there was just one party there) and 5+ tables uncleaned. It wasn't even busy and they told us to wait almost 15-20 minutes before they could seat us and they didn't even apologize! The menu had a lot of variety to choose from, such as popular Thai dishes like pad Thai, different kinds of curry (red, green, yellow), crab fried rice, papaya salad, etc. There was also Hainan chicken in different variations - steamed, fried, and grilled ($13-14). Pricing was very reasonable and most entrees were $14+ The Chicken Pad Thai ($13.99) was pretty decent and the portion was very big. The noodles were very good and not too salty or overly sweet. I really enjoyed that there was a lot of pieces of chicken and egg inside. This was 4/5 Pineapple Fried Rice ($13.99) was very delicious and had lots of chicken and shrimp inside! The rice was very flavorful and I really liked the chunks of pineapple, bits of raisins and cashews inside. This was 4/5 Tom Yum Noodle Soup ($13.99) was very underwhelming. The noodles were nothing special. The Tom Yum soup didn't taste authentic and didn't have much of a taste to it other than spiciness. This was 2/5 The Hainan Chicken - steamed ($12.99) was the most disappointing Hainan chicken I've ever had. It was tasteless and dry. It certainly didn't taste tender and juicy like how it's supposed to. The brown, orange, and ginger sauce were so nasty. The sauces are supposed to pair well with the chicken but the sauces given were very salty and didn't work well with the chicken at all. The rice was dry and overcooked. This was 1/5 for me, sorry! Would most likely not return or recommend

I'd been having on SGV Eats this place is so good. I don't know what people are talking about. The place is small, a bit dirty and only noticed street parking. The hainan/steamed chicken is bland. Like literally flavorless and an odd texture. The fried and grilled were just as bad. The sauces were good though. But I didn't want to finish my meal it was so bland. And the crab rangoons we got were still frozen in the middle! I'll stick to Savoy Kitchen

Red Chicken is stand alone building located in the corner next to the Sam Woo and O'Reilly Auto Parts plaza on Las Tunas. There is minimal parking in the lot in the back, but there should be plenty of street parking. We came in for dinner at around 6 PM on a week night and the restaurant had minimal people and no wait. However, we noticed a bunch of take out orders lined up and as the night went on, a lot of people were coming in and out to pick up their food. This must be a very popular restaurant for take out. The server was very friendly and took our order. My wife ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and I ordered the Spicy Basil with Pork, spicy level spicy. My wife enjoyed her Pad Thai and I really enjoyed my spicy basil. The pork was flavorful and the spicy level was on point. A few days later, we called to place a small party tray for Pad Thai and party tray of 40 Satay Chicken. The Pad Thai comes with the toppings separated out on top in case you want to take something out. Otherwise, you can mix it up after. It also came with lemon and peanuts on the side. The satay chicken came with satay sauce in a separate container and another sauce with cucumber in it. Our group of friends really enjoyed both dishes and it was enough for about 6-7 people. If you want to place a party tray order, call in advance and give them a couple of days. We called about two days in advanced. Overall, we had a good experience at Red Chicken. We enjoyed the food and definitely will be back!

Dropping a 5 spot for this Hainan style chicken + rice gem! Highlights: - great portion size. I eat a lot and I left very full - fried chicken was excellent and was exactly what I wanted. Not a "katsu" style but a Chinese style fry. Loved it!! - soup healed my soul - lots of sauce, great variety Lowlights - regular chicken had some gummy/unsavory parts. But it was later in the night and i'm not holding it against them. They go through a lot of chicken throughout the day - wish there was more rice

June BOGO deals!! Plus 10% off your entire bill! BOGO deal applies to Thai tea, Thai coffee, tofu or eggroll appetizers. Mangos are back in season so grab a mango sticky rice for dessert too! Pro-Tip: if you are visiting when the sun is shining they the windows, try sitting toward the middle of the room. The shades don't help keep the sun/heat out enough sadly and the place can get warm

I ordered the half-and-half rice set, and the chicken was incredibly tender. It was fried to a perfect crisp, and when paired with their green papaya, it tasted very refreshing.

Steamed Chicken Rice Set (Dark meat)

Have been regularly coming here for a few years. It's a Thai restaurant that offers Thai food that appeals to both Thai and non-Thai clients. Their flavors are well-balanced. Their version of Hainan chicken rice (steamed chicken rice set) offers dark or white meat. Rice has subtle flavor, soup is comforting and flavorful, and their chicken comes boneless which is perfect for people who dont want to dirty their hands. The chicken can also come grilled, or fried (which is really good if you want a crispy texture). Comes paired with sauces and ginger. Pricing is pretty good for the portion sizes they give you. Grilled Beef with sticky rice and papaya set is really good as well. Sticky rice comes in a basket to keep it warm. Papaya salad, even in mild, can have some heat building up overtime. Their Pad thai is delicious too. Not greasy, good pricing, great portions. Comes with veggies, peanuts, and lime on the side. They make this delicious Tamarind drink and Pink Milk Drink. Tamarind drink is sweet and slightly tart. Pink Milk Drink is sweet and creamy. Ambiance is casual. Most people come and order takeout so the restaurant is usually really quiet. Service is great. The staff are very polite and happy to see locals support their business.

Ordered through DoorDash and the items arrived well packed and hot! We ordered the pad see ew, pad Thai, yen ta fo, and crab rangoons. The crab rangoons were interesting.. I thought it was okay. I never had something like that before but I thought the sauce complimented the cream cheesy-ness well. My favorite was the yen ta fo! Although I wish they used the thick, flat noodle, it was still good. The flavor was nostalgic and it was extra spicy since my sister requested it that way. Pad see ew was pretty good! The noodles were a bit overcooked but I didn't mind. The pad Thai was okay in my opinion. The flavor wasn't as strong as I would have liked but the noodles were cooked well and it came with a good amount of meat and veggies.

Couldn't find the spot at first in the plaza but it is located near a McDonald's. Looked big from outside but was a decent size inside with a good amount of tables and seating space. Service was really fast, got seated quick and they were fast to take our orders which was crazy at first but they were on it with service so I appreciated that. Even the food came out pretty fast. Saw that the Beef Noodle Soup was good so I had to try it, the beef broth was delicious and I love bok choy so they had me at bok choy! Beef was nicely cooked too, I liked it! Dan Dan noodles were okay and it felt like it was spicy peanut butter but still good, just not my favorite. But the pork dumplings (xiao long bao) was YUMMY. It really hit the spot when we grabbed one each and the warmth and taste was delicious. Definitely my favorite! Pork and crab dumplings were good too! I was just too full at that point to have more of it all. I'd say this place satisfied my hunger and I left there super full so I'll comeback again :)

Service was rushed and disorganized from the start -- the server wanted our order the moment we sat down, leaving us scrambling to decide. We ordered the Hu Tieu Thap Cam (large noodles), Banh Bot Chien, and Dau Cha Quay as an appetizer. The Bot Chien came out first after about 20 minutes. My soup didn't arrive until 15 minutes after that, and the Dau Cha Quay? We had to ask four times before it finally showed up -- by which point we were nearly done eating. As for the food itself, my Hu Tieu Thap Cam was a disappointment. A large bowl that was mostly noodles, with just two shrimp, a single slice of liver, barely a teaspoon of ground beef, and a few thin slivers of chicken. The veggie toppings were just as sparse. For what's supposed to be a hearty noodle soup, it felt like a bowl of afterthoughts. I hate writing reviews like this because I genuinely used to love this place. But the combination of slow, uncoordinated service and underwhelming portions makes it hard to recommend.

The…read moreother two ordered tsukemen ($26.50 for the spicy deluxe and $23.50 for the spicy chasu) and found it very salty because they chose to consume it not by dipping the noodles in the bowl of broth, but rather by pouring all the broth from the bowl into the noodles, trying to recreate a normal bowl of ramen. I can't speak for them, but I will say, if you order the tsukemen and find that you want more dipping broth, that will be an extra charge. Order a regular bowl of ramen if you do not plan to dip the brothless noodles into the broth for each bite. BF and I both tried the spicy tuna bowl ($7.95), chashu bowl ($8.95), and tonkotsu ramen ($15.95). The bowls are a little smaller than the ramen bowls and are a great option if you want a light meal without feeling super full. The tonkotsu ramen had a slightly rich broth that was flavorful and a decent portion of noodles. We opted not to order the ramen with the egg since we were also trying the rice bowls. The three items were more than enough for the two of us and a good variety of food. Parking here is horrible at the street level, so head downstairs for the two levels of underground parking.

I know they owned Killer Noodle and brought it back for a day or so during some weeks, but still. I feel like I can partly blame those who can't handle spice, numbing or not, and or people with generally normie tastes. Anyways, enough of that diatribe. Parking can get horrible and fisted here, even though there's parking in the pit. The best bet is to just park at the 99 Ranch Market across the street and walk over. This restaurant also gets super busy too and there's limited tables and seating inside for how popular it is. They did collabs too, like the Naruto one. There were instructions on how to properly eat tsukemen and staff was friendly and polite too. I know they tried to make the ambiance a bit nicer and fancier, but with the constant slew of customers and people, you can only do so much. Since it's a tsukemen restaurant, I always just got tsukemen here. I'd get the spicy chashu tsukemen. Comes with a generous portion of chashu pork and is made with their homemade spices. It also comes with a soft boiled egg, a slice of lime to squeeze in for taste, green onions and a sheet nori. After dipping the noodles, you can ask for soup wari to eat the rest of the broth in. It's a delicious and hefty portion and sorta justifies the $30 for a bowl of tsukemen thing. Flavorful broth with a depth of delicious spices. Nice thick noodles that absorb the broth nicely. I like that you get a good amount of chashu. Adding the lime makes the noodles a bit more refreshing if you get a bit tired of the taste. Spicy doesn't make it spicy at all, but at the very least gave a bit of heat to it. There's other Tsujitas out there, just now a bit farther.

We finally went in and ordered a bunch: the Spicy Beef Shank Rice Noodle, Rattan Pepper Sliced Beef Rice Noodle, Popcorn Chicken, Sesame Balls, Popping Brown Sugar Rice Cake, Fried Milk Rolls, and Fried Taro Balls. Everything was outstanding. The noodles were amazing--fresh, chewy, with high-quality ingredients you can really taste in every bite. The broths had that perfect spicy kick without being overwhelming, and the beef was super tender. My wife and I couldn't stop eating; literally everything we tried was delicious. She especially loved the Fried Taro Balls--they were crispy outside, soft and flavorful inside. The sides/snacks were all hits too: the Popcorn Chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy, the Sesame Balls and Popping Brown Sugar Rice Cake brought great texture and sweetness, and the Fried Milk Rolls were a fun surprise. Service was top-notch--shoutout to Icey, who took such great care of us. One of the best and most attentive experiences we've had in a while.
