I hired Orange County Handyman in early January 2018 to install 5 windows in an upstairs balcony. They persuaded me that I need to redo the roof to that balcony at the same time. They tore up the roof, made a start on the balcony, left LOTS of TRASH and building refuse in my yard, and then left. I gave them a $4,000 deposit on a $7,000 bid and that is the last I have seen of them. I get periodic text messages that they will be by soon but 4 months later that hasn't materialized into them actually finishing the job. Rich never answers the phone when I call. Rich came out with his son in February of this year to fix my washer. My washer was over flowing from the back pipe. He fixed it and assured me that it would be good for another couple of years. He said if it acted up again, he'd come by and fix it no charge. Initially I felt he overcharged me ($180) just to snake the drain...but I figured since he guaranteed his work, it was worth it. Well fast forward to May of this year. My washer is worse than it was before he came. The pipe is overflowing like crazy! I have texted and called him on FIVE different occasions. Hired him based on initial quote of $150 plus cost of fan "a couple hundred dollars" according to Rich. Never received any receipts for the fan itself or detailed labor. Got a very generic receipt. Rich comes to my house on a weekend morning with a bill of close to $900!!! I was in shock! I told him this was unacceptable and since I pay people for their work I paid him the full amount. He promised to go home and adjust any payments. I was hoping he would go and think about his integrity, reputation and desire for repeat business. He texted me saying he will refund me $57.
