First time dining at Ora Ora Sushi Buffet for lunch on a weekday. I heard about this place for a while now but heard mixed reviews from friends. Recently, the restaurant lowered its costs and I decided to check it out. Weekday Lunch: $23.99 Dinner: $35.99 The restaurant is clean and well lit. We were seated as soon as we walked in. The staff were very nice and frequently checked in on us to make sure we didn't need anything. Since we went during lunch, there wasn't any crab legs or live oysters. However, there's raw marinated crab, fried crab and mussels. There's a mix of sushi rolls and nigiris. Then you have some imitation crab salads, cooked items, fried items and noodle soups. The salmon, eel, octopus, tuna and torched salmon nigiri were solid. The escolar and tamago nigiri was no good. The dokkbokki was bland. Japchae was decent. Nigiris are packed with a lot of rice underneath, so you can fill up pretty quickly if you're coming for sushi. Soups were not very hot at all, in fact, nothing was super hot. Note: the torched tuna and salmon nigiri is topped with a wasabi sauce. The pineapple ice cream is refreshing and is great to cleanse your palate after feasting. One gripe I have is the flies -- I noticed them near the end of my meal. They were flying around the fruit and dessert which made me steer away from the fruit and the cookies, cakes, cookies and the pre-prepped udon noodles by the soup area sitting out in the open. It'll be better if everything was covered. Overall, OraOra is OK. I would say it's better than NoriNori however it has room to improve. I'm still looking for that good quality sushi buffet out there though, and this was not for me. read more

I been wanting to check this place out for a very long time but there was mixed reviews and the prices were super high. With the recent price drop and good reviews, I had to check this place out. This place is off of a Boggs Rd and Duluth HWY in the small shopping center. Parking is limited and I can see it hard to find a spot when this place is packed. I came in on a Wednesday afternoon and their dinner buffet starts at 6pm. Thank goodness there was plenty of parking as I got a front row parking spot. We were greeted and seated right away. The dining area is quite small and tables and chairs are almost laid out as a fast food dining furniture. It appears they seat people to their convience so they don't have to walk far to clear the tables. Selection is decent but small. Almost looked like a smaller Nori Nori. Highlights of the foods I really enjoyed was the crab legs as they were good and fresh. The lemon pepper chicken wings was surprisingly good. The spicy udon stir fry was good. Their sushi selection is good and I loved their spicy Mayo sauce. I had some raw oysters with lemon on them. The seaweed salad was very good as Nori Nori got rid of it. Their udon soup was very tasty but the temperature was hot enough so Nori Nori still beats them on that. The fish katsu was amazing, which I was surprised because I normally don't eat fried foods at buffets. Service was decent but not the best as the forgot a straw for me. They never asked us if we needed a high chair for our little one but oh well. Dessert bar was very lacking as I was hoping they had green tea ice cream. Their pineapple ice cream was good tho. All in all, I would definitely come back and try their cheaper lunch buffet. If your in the area, and love Asian buffets with seafood and sushi, this is your place to go!! read more

Always fresh food! I like how bright the hall is and the all the food area kept clean. Staff is very attentive and friendly. The stations are curated and everything was fresh and neatly presented. Every kind of roll and sushi offering can be found. The variety of hot dishes vary, and included everything from fried rice, bulgogi tteokbokki, marinated raw crab and cold noodles, and so many more dishes. Sushi: There's plenty of variety of nigiri and rolls but most are low or empty. But the fish to rice ratio is awful for the nigiris. There were 2 sashimi labelled but one of them was empty all night. This is set on purpose as the sushi chefs are busy and just standing and looking around most of the night. Hot Entrees: They were lukewarm at best. Poor variety of entrees... fried foods are dry/overcooked. Crab Legs were dry. Not sure if they were even steamed. I guess the positive of this is not splashing people around you when you snap the legs in half. The crab legs were lukewarm or even cold. Service: Had to be flagged twice to get a water refill. Most are just standing and looking around. One was even exercising rubbing his arm/elbow and doing leg lifts in the middle of the floor. I've always passed by here on my way to work and decided to give this place a try, so I went on a Friday and they charged me the weekend price and not the week day price which didn't make any sense to me. Lunch: $25.99 per person Dinner: $37.99 per person Fountain Drinks: $3.99 The service was good. Also, I was planning to eat only oysters but they have a limit on those. 3 plates full of oysters per person. I thought that was too little but one plate of oysters for me was enough. If you don't know how to pick out the good oysters from the bad. A tip is to look for the ones that look alive for the good ones and if they look dry and yellow.. well.. isn't it obvious? This would be the BAD ones. They have cocktail sauce, too. But they're inside a large mustard bottle which threw me off. Everyone in the restaurant seems to only get crab legs but they weren't that great. The quality was "meh". Only reason was because when you crack them open and eat it.. it's DRY!! My expectations were a bit high, I guess. Usually, crab legs at other buffet restaurants are juicy and pretty good for the price. But this place just rips you off. Not a good price if the seafood sucks. I would suggest staying away from the salad and anything deep fried if you want to eat a lot. Just from my experience. Eating the desserts is a waste of space (in your stomach). I wasn't able to eat the desserts. I was too full from eating oysters and shrimp tempura. There were also signs on the table that read "Eat everything off your plate". So don't waste food. But while I was eating oysters, I found two bad ones and didn't eat it. I also didn't like the fact that the waiters just stand around and stare at you while you eat. And I think they try to keep track on how many plates of oysters you had. It was very uncomfortable.
