Friends, just say no to Orbit Cafe. The poor babies who are working there don't know what's going on. We waited 40 minutes for our sad little lunch. The food was colder than a refridgerator and it was 90'degrees outside. We played rock paper scissors while waiting and my son basically went from amateur to pro in that period of time because it was so long. We're gonna sign him up for some rps tournaments, so that's a sliver lining. But they need like a management consultant to come in and help those downtrodden workers with their processes. They could have easily hiked prices and we would have no choice but to fork over the money. It's not like visitors are going to leave the complex for lunch and come back. Sure there's electronic ordering. Sure this place is spacious. Sure there is compostable cutlery etc. But the food: turned my stomach. I was really really unhappy with my pulled pork. This place was not worth my time or my visit even though the tour guide recommended it and recommended avoiding the burgers. The pulled pork really was bad so I wouldn't recommend it. The tables seemed really messy too, so it took a while for us to find a place to sit. I realize that this is a really busy attraction at most times of day but completing the rest of my afternoon's visit to the Kennedy Space Center with an upset stomach was not how I wanted to spend my time, certainly. read more

While spending a day at Kennedy Space Center, we decided to do something light for lunch and chose the Orbit Cafe. Didn't expect much, and were surprised with what we ended up getting. My wife had the Spring Mix salad with chicken, and I had the Grilled Mozzarella & Tomato on Focaccia with fries. We were both very happy with the food, and they seem to have a pretty efficient operation, using walk up kiosks to order, and then you pick everything up at a large open counter using a number. You order your food at a touch screen kiosk. It is pretty simple and we did not have any issues ordering and paying. We did not have to wait very long for our food. There was limited staff interaction because of the kiosks but the staff at the pick up counter were friendly. The food was average fast food quality; not great but not bad either. Ok, I know when you are stuck somewhere and need to eat you have no choice, but this little cafe actually surprises me. They have some healthy options and you can add fresh toppings to your sandwiches. Their salads are large and have plenty of fresh toppings to choose from. They also use green packaging which is awesome for the environment and I wish more places would. Use the mobile ordering because you are just going to enter it yourself on a computer screen anyway save yourself one more line. The staff were wiping down tables as soon as folks were done with them for the next groups. It is a busy place from 11:30-1:30. read more

the 4 stars are compared to the other food options at the Center. like another yelper wrote, at the Kennedy Space Center, we were dreading lunch because we figured everything would be unhealthy and super pricey and with long lines. we at 12:30, so busy lunch time, but there was no line at the kiosk and food was done quickly (whole process about 5 min). we had the chicken tenders and burger and fruit for kids and milk, not juice. other restaurants inside have similar food options, but this place is big and air conditioned, and wait time is much less. there is no coffee here so we went to the garden for the espresso (hubby is quite addicted to coffee, though he will deny), but we stood in line at the garden at about 1:30pm for 30 mins! same menu as the orbit but others waited wayyy longer for their food. luckily the garden is across from the kids' play area so it worked out. read more

She ate maybe two bites. Another customer seems to have lost or had stolen his phone or wallet when he turned his back to get his soda. Horrible place. Ate here recently and I thought it sucked. My wife thought so as well. Got there 5 minutes after posted opening and was advised to return as they were not ready yet. Returned about 15 minutes later, stood at the counter watching 4-5 helpers continue to get ready. I finally said to my wife 'I'm not impressed so far.' A worker overheard me and said 'oh haven't you been helped?'. So we had a hot dog that was more like a sodium dog, uninspired sandwich, cup of soup which was ok; went to condiment counter to pump out some catchup to try to help the very bland fries; dispenser was empty. I actually enjoyed this fast food spot. The interior is spacious, lots of space for dining and relaxing. I liked be able to order at my own pace on their touch screens. And the service was fairly quick and the food was good. We got chicken tenders basket and a build your salad to share. The chicken was great and so was the salad. Super fresh and tasty. A 3 is a solid rating for food at an attraction. The line was tough, but once we ordered, it was quick but good quality. We ordered from a kiosk and had a black bean burger, a Cuban sandwich, a pulled pork sandwich, Mac and cheese, a design your own salad, and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. The food was very good, with the prices in line for an attraction. The only downside was the line at the start and the cafeteria style dining. Waited 1/2 hour to place order at kiosk. After an hour, other people in my party were served their food, still nothing on our order. We were later told it was the burger on the order that was taking long. After 1hr10m I went to the counter to see if I could get answers. Lots of other people were waiting on their food for much longer than us. I finally asked if they could just give us the pizza on the order bc my son was starving. One lady said no. She was obviously flustered with all the complaints and angry customers. When my son started crying I finally asked another woman behind the counter, she gave us the pizza. After 1hr30 mins since we paid, they started serving orders after our number with burgers on their. My husband lost it. I'm 8 months pregnant, my son is crying, and other people are getting their burgers before us. No one explaining anything, no one apologizing, nothing. He lost it. Instead of apologizing or anything, the manager just looked at us and called security. Finally after my husband went ballistic in the food court, they prepared our order. Seems like they had skipped over it. We spent 2h10mins waiting for 1 burger, 1 veggie burger, a pizza, and a side salad. We came to find out later that there was a fire in the kitchen earlier in the day and they were operating on less equipment. Fine, it happens. But they should have posted a sign at the door informing customers of the ridiculous wait times, and that burgers and fries would take forever and a day. Not a word was said to anyone and they just kept taking orders. I don't blame the employees, I feel sorry for them. I blame the managers. TERRIBLE way to handle a situation. read more
