Underwhelmed. Uses Canola oil to fry. Workers don't know what type of beef is used. Yelp review states they use grass-fed. I could not get this confirmed, it's definetly not listed on the menu and the three people I spoke with had no clue. My husbands fried fish tacos tasted fishy' and had very soggy fish batter on them; were not fried long enough. Normally I wouldn't review, I'd just go elsewhere. However, restaurants need to up there game when it comes to being able to make healthier choices on a menu. read more

Loved every moment of this experience. From the moment I walked in I was pleased with the welcoming feel of the Lincoln Heights location. I ordered the coffee. The taste was very good and very fresh. I paired this with two of there AMAZING chocolate chip cookies. I also had the chips and queso which came with a unique presentation. I also had their pulled pork burgers as well as the La Bomba Burger. The pulled pork burger was great, but lacked some barbecue sauce for me personally. The La Bomba burger is VERY good, however, if you liked your fried egg to be fried and over-hard and not runny,make sure to mention this. I love all the burgers, tacos, fries, pizza etc. The chocolate shake and black and white shake GROSS. If you like drinking cocoa powder get it but I do not. It tasted like I was drinking Hershey's cocoa powder in the little brown box. I was so disappointed. I know their management team sees this so I'll write it too...one female employee as soon as she realized I had to ask a question before I ordered huffed and sighed in annoyance and walked away. How does this place exist? The food here is awful and bland. I gave this place 2 chances but it's a no from me, dawg. Where do I start. The fish tacos (I tried both) made me seriously think I had Covid for a good 10 minutes. That is the only way to describe how bland they were. They put "chipotle" sauce to give it flavor but I don't think they know what that is. I closed my eyes and took a big bite of my Brisket Burger and felt like I got transported far far away to a Bill Millers because I was pretty sure they put chop burger in this. If I wanted to pay an extra $4 for a scoop of chop burger with the little fatty bits I would not go here. By the time you start eating, the "bbq" sauce soaks the bun and gets wildly soggy. The Bean Burger - Though few and far between, the beans were the best part of this. The menu states the burger has queso on it, but they only put about 1 teaspoon of it, so that super sucked. The fries lived in some kind of hell between soggy and undercooked. The nacho cheese tasted like a melted version of those cheap cracker/cheese HEB snack packs with those plastic red sticks, you know what I'm talking about. You might be asking, Hey? My guy, why'd you give it 1 star? Like, was there anything keeping you from blowing your life savings (that you don't have) to get a board seat at Yelp, then petition them to truly create a zero star feature? Since it was my first visit I wanted to try everything but ended up ordering the La Bomba Burger which has a juicy ground beef patty, cheddar cheese, fried egg, bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion along with a side of their cheese fries. It was delicious! My best friend ordered the T-Rex pizza that had pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, ham, bacon, and mozzarella cheese along with their original nachos that had black bean and cheese. Also very delicious! We both didn't wait long for our orders at all and the food came out nice and hot. The atmosphere is pleasant and allows for plenty of natural light to shine through. The place was busy but we were able to order and get our food served within 20 mins which was impressive since they were packed. I had the gluten free buns and they were better than other places. Definitely ask them to toast the bread so it doesn't fall apart. That's a pro tip for all you gluten free bread eaters, toast the bread! Burgers were good not great. Really enjoy this place. Been here for 2019 and 2020 Burger week. In 2019, it topped my burgers with a brisket burger that went well with the sweet potatoe fries. These are legit and spot on with the salt and crispy factor. For 2020, it was the Jalapeño Popper Burger. It's a hand-pressed quarter pounder with cream cheese, hickory smoked bacon, grilled jalapeños (Lots!!), bbq sauce on a toasted bun. It did taste like a popper but better! French Fries: Severely undercooked and soggy with zero seasoning. But somehow still a brown color from what I assume was caused by dirty oil. Trio: Chips, queso, guacamole, and salsa. The cheese was the worst kind of synthetic orange goo. Obviously they don't make it, but they chose the worst possible 55gal drum to buy. Salsa was tasteless and bland. Basically just tasted like a can of tomato sauce. Guacamole wasn't so bad. But still bland. Pastor Taco: The grease from the pork was leaking out of the rolled foil. So the taco was a soggy mess. Menu appears to have a lot of options for fries, sandwiches, burgers, even alcoholic beverages. At peak hours, a few more minutes can be expected for food to be ready. I ordered the Chicken burger, which was well-seasoned, not soggy, had lots of avocado, but the filling tends to fall out of the burger. Some kind of crispy texture is on some of the chicken. Chicken was tender and moist. The cheese had some flavor I can't recognize but welcome to my taste buds. I also ordered the frozen pink lemonade, which was lots of ice (kind of expected for a frozen beverage), but had the sweetness and tartness of real lemons. What I got: a little cardboard boat with one limp leaf of lettuce topped by a bunch of mayonnaise-drenched salsa including 2 tiny pieces of pineapple and three teeny tiny cocktail size shrimp barely discernible in the whitish mess. We visited this little eatery in the Quarry area for brunch. Your order is taken at the counter and when it's ready they call your name. Everything is paper and plastic here. We had breakfast here on Saturday morning we enjoyed it very much! The staff member who took my order was really nice and made recommendations for us. We tried the San Antonian taco, the super taco and the three amigos. My partner also tried the iced Mexican coffee and it was very good! The tacos were freshly prepared and flavorful. The green salsa has a spicy kick and the red salsa was very fresh. I like that the menu for breakfast has a large variety of items - something for everyone! Alamo City Burger Project Eating my way through San Antonio's burger menu Service and Setting Tucked in off Basse road near HEB, it is surrounded by several "good food fast" places - Torchy's, Pei Wei, Sushi Zushi, and Panera. It's bright and clean. Order at the counter and listen for your name on the PA. Counter folks were friendly enough. Menu Pizza, Tacos, Burgers. Some would call it the American dream. But are they the jack of all trades and master of none? Well, we are here on some old Thrillist recommendation so the burger has impressed some people. The menu has a good variety of classics and burger one-offs. Several fry options, each messier than the last by the time you get to chocolate pig fries (sweet potato fries with Nutella and bacon). We went with La Bomba and ABC burgers. Beverage Soda fountain, simple beer and wine list, and shakes. Sides We had kept it simple with a regular side of fries. In retrospect, I may have wanted to try the something more adventurous like their chipotle chorizo chili cheese fries, but these were still pretty good. They're served in a cone, Belgian style, which is probably my favorite potato to crisp ratio. The tables have a clever small circle cut into them which invites you to use as holder and stand for the fries. Patty Seemed to be about a third pounder. 100% ground beef, cooked to order. We ordered medium and it came out beautifully. Perfect pink center. Good juice without being too runny. Perhaps could do with some more seasoning in compared to some of San Antonio's top-tier burgers. Dress and Bun The aptly-named ABC burger came with avocado, bacon, cheddar. I was content with the amount of avocado. La Bomba has a fried egg, bacon and cheddar. The egg, much like the burger was appropriately cooked. Buns were pretty standard white bread. It tasted fresh enough. It held on just enough under the toppings burden, but didn't add to the experience. The lettuce, tomato, and pickle were mediocre. The Verdict While I enjoyed the burger, it would be a stretch to say they've mastered it here. The patty and egg were good, but simply not enough to get excited about when it came to the other aspects of toppings and bun. I got a chicken burger; it was messy to eat but very yummy! They use a fancy canola oil that cooks at high temps to make fries like 5 Guys but without using peanut oil.
