After braving the line at Klassic Doughnuts, we decided there was only one thing that could make…read morethem even better--coffee. So we wandered over to Pinup Coffee at Back Bay Farmhouse Brewery, and we're glad we did. I ordered the Salty Texan, a delicious take on the classic caramel macchiato. It was smooth, well-balanced, and just the right combination of sweet and salty. I would definitely order it again. The seating was comfortable, the atmosphere was relaxed, and it turned out to be much more than just a stop for coffee. We struck up a conversation with a wonderful mother and daughter visiting from Wisconsin. During our chat, the daughter shared that she was getting married later today. It was one of those unexpected moments that reminds you how enjoyable simple conversations with complete strangers can be. Great coffee, outstanding doughnuts, comfortable surroundings, and memorable conversation--it made for a wonderful morning. If you're visiting Back Bay Farmhouse Brewery, Pinup Coffee is well worth a stop.

I love their options of drinks an biscuits, I've especially been craving their bacon and cheddar biscuit since I've last had it, and it's nice to go to a cafe that dos things a little differently than the standard! One thing I also adore about this location is how they will host small markets on the lawn outside the house! One time me and my friend finished chatting and having coffee and we unknowingly walked outside to see a bunch of vendors that weren't there before! It was so fun to walk around and speak with everyone, they were all so sweet and I ended up buying multiple things unplanned! I will say it can be a tight squeeze between the doorway and the counter when ordering as the hallway is small and the line can grow rapidly. But if it's not cold outside or busy there then it's not really an issue at all! I'm sad that they aren't open past 1-2PM most days, but that's understandable given the business they run and thier location! Overall, I couldn't recommend tho place more for anyone wanting a new study spot or place to try out in general in VB!

The vibe is very nice, the only downside is that it's located next to Walmart so the view is the parking lot lol. Employees have also been very nice to me and don't mind breaking down their menu or giving recommendations which is appreciated as a newcomer!

No issues with surface parking that's nearby their front door. The walk up was debris free. The shop has a lot of coffee and some merchandise for sale. I wanted to try a coffee and baked good. They are known for their blueberry scones, but I went against the grain. The Vegan Blueberry loaf appealed to me. With it being later afternoon the bakery Cade was pretty bare, but blueberry scones continued to crank out. They also had a coffee special, a carrot cake latte. Service was helpful and friendly. The dining room has a decent amount of space to enjoy a brew and treat inside. Outdoor seating is limited, but they do have it. The decor is pretty dark and rustic with wood tables. I chose a table in the rear that was clean. After around 5+ my blueberry loaf was called out by my name. It was warmed up and pretty good. Being vegan it was not as sweet, but I liked it. Another 10+, too long in my opinion my name was called for coffee pick up. At that point most of my load had been eaten. The coffee was pretty good, not blowing me away. I would like to return to try more. 3+, rounding up.

The vibe is laid-back and relaxed, and the aesthetic is really cute -- great casual breakfast energy without feeling rushed. The staff was very friendly, and the place was clean, which always makes a difference. The croissant breakfast sandwiches were delicious (pro tip: add egg to the ham and Swiss). The bagels were decent -- not NY level, but still solid. The coffee was good, though they didn't have Splenda on hand, so if that's your thing you may want to bring your own. My son ordered the strawberry smoothie and a chicken wrap -- the wrap was generously sized and he really enjoyed both. Overall, a cozy neighborhood spot with good food, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere.

DRINK REVIEW Buko Pandan Latte - 4/5 Ube Velvet Latte - 4/5 Sakura (seasonal flavor) with Strawberry Foam - 5/5 I originally got this for my sister, but it ended up being my favorite. PASTRIES Pepperoni Bread - 3.5/5 - Decent. Pandesal with Spam, Egg & Cheese - 3/5 My least favorite, but still decent and kid-friendly. Ube Pandesal with Cream Cheese Filling - 4/5 My favorite pastry of the bunch. Biscoff Ensaymada - 3/5 A bit dense, but the Biscoff butter icing was good. The flavors overall were good, though I personally would've liked the coffee to be a bit stronger. The Sakura Latte definitely stood out the most for me. Overall, this is a solid Filipino coffee shop in VA Beach that's worth checking out if you're in the area.

We were able to use the back room in the cafe that had a large table and provided a cozy setting with lots of natural light coming through the windows and cute macaroon-shaped pillows on the chairs. We had hibiscus tea and peach tea for the table to share. The peach tea was everyone's favorite, it didn't even need any added sugar. It was served in cute pastel teapots, though one of the teapots had a chip at the spout which made me a little nervous. We also had macaroons made in-house for the table. I can't remember if I asked the staff if any of the macaroons were dairy free, but I asked my friends at the table and was told there was dairy in them. I later asked the staff if there was any food they offered that was dairy-free and they showed me their pastry counter but ultimately determined that everything offered had dairy, so all I had while at the café was the tea. The ladies I was with loved the macaroons. I wish I could have had some. I recommend at least 1-2 food options be added in the café for folks who have a dairy allergy. Café Genevieve provides a nice atmosphere for tea with a unique setting -- in a 1734 house that is decked out with Parisian decor. It's not the most private setting -- it got pretty noisy during our time there and there were a few interruptions to our conversation. We should have asked if we could have closed the door, because that definitely would have helped with noise and privacy. Overall, the customer service was great and the tea was really good! If you want to meet here for a private event, conversation, or just want some peace and quiet, that back room with the door closed could provide it. It's a nice café to check out.
