December 18 ,2022 Oregaons Restaurant in Surprise We, party of 5, had dinner in this restaurant last night December 17,2022. Arrived at about 7.30. had called ahead to be on the wait list. Waited 15-20 minutes to be seated, there were two other couples in the whole section. After the order was taken, waited another 40-45 minutes for our sandwiches. 1 order was wrong, 3 others fries were cold, the 5th order was good, except he was handed a small plastic fork and knife, the rest of us no silverware or napkins until we asked for them. Finally some came from the back and gave us real silverware and napkins. Now time for the bill. we had asked for 3 separate checks, we all received a copy of the complete check for all 5 meals????? I have only eaten there one time so I can't give a review that would be totally fair. Big menu and a chain restaurant is usually a warning sign to me that there could be trouble ahead. I was reluctantly taken with my group of golphers after our round. I ordered the lasagna which the waitress suggested and apparently is one of the specialties. For my tastes it was not very good. What's not to love? First off I would certainly tell anyone ordering the salads that they feed 2 people. They are HUGE! And all of them are delicious. I love the El Diablo Shrimp Pasta plate and would highly recommend this dish to anyone who is not timid of spicy food or enormous size shrimp. Alfredo The Dark is another hit! And a must try is the Stuffed Pies they are fabulous. The Surprise location has a great patio for outdoor dining in the cooler months in AZ! Ate here for the first time and it was actually pretty good. The decor is super cute with old antiques and our waitress wasn't too bad.

Went to this spot with some friends. Had a party of eight (4 adults and 4 children). It was only a 39 minute wait on a Friday night. They sat us in a back portion of the restaurant which was great. Our server "Jonathan" was great. The order arrived within 20 minutes of us ordering. The food was good, which appeared to be fresh. The interior was clean and spotless. I love this place, as most people do. Those that complain about the length of time to receive their pizzas must not realize that these freshly made pizzas, and ESPECIALLY the pan pizzas, take time. If you are in a hurry, Oregano's may not be the place for you. They are often on a wait, and it can be a lengthy one, use Yelp's "call-ahead" or waitlist feature if its available, and plan to wait. I have warned you... places like this are meant to be the main event of the night, not a starter. Recommendations from my wife and I: The thin crust pizzas - great flavor, and perfect proportion of cheese to topping, solid choice and big enough to share with someone else. Alfredo the Dark - This stuff is one of my favorites, don't get it confused with a "Chicken Alfredo" of the norm... the sauce is lighter and there are some spices and tomatoes that give it a little kick. We add the chicken, but I would be willing to bet the sausage option would be really tasty too! There's enough for two on this plate, the wife and I normally share this and a salad or pizza. First impressions are lasting impressions and unfortunately this Oregano's completely dropped the ball! How in the world do you not anticipate being busy on New Year's Eve?! This place is busy on a freaking Tuesday! I placed an online order at 8:30 AM for pickup at 5:30 PM. It's 6 o'clock and my order is not ready. I requested to speak to a manager and she didn't even have a good excuse. Then she said its going to be at least 25 more minutes! She had the nerve to say she could refund the order or give me a gift card for my next visit. My next visit?! NEVER! I will never visit this Oregano's again! The sausage was beef, we ordered extra tomatoes and there were only a few on the pizza, the pizza was just thrown together, not attractive and tastes just not what we expected. We were craving a Chicago style deep dish pizza. In our area that means a trip to Oregano's. I called and ordered at 6:30pm and was told it would be ready at 7:30. We waited in anticipation. I arrived, the team was welcoming and everyone was pleasant. No problems at the restaurant. Fast forward. I'm home. I go to open the pizza box and to my disappointment the pizza is pretty flat, the cheese is off 1/4 of the pizza and the other side is broken. This was one ugly pizza. This was my first time to an Oregano's and I will definitely be back with the family. The atmosphere is casual fun with an old world feel. Especially if you sit outside (weather permitting). The lunch specials are great. I tried the O'Zone (calzone) of the day the "especial." Needless to say I had no leftovers. My dining companions got several other dishes that looked very impressive. The salad is definitely no joke. It was so big one person could only eat 1/3rd of hers. We also had a birthday at the table and the pizza cookie (peanut butter chocolate chip cookie) was amazing! Took my family to this location on a Wednesday evening. We usually visit the 67th and Bell location-amazing service and foot is always spot on! The Surprise location however was a huge let down. The drinks that were ordered didn't come- she finally remembered and brought them. Food took awhile and two of the entrees were ice cold, they added refrigerated items to hot food and result was horrific. They agreed to remake and manager did take care of... or so we thought. Took a look time for server to come back and check on us throughout entire meal. Check comes and not taken care of...now we wait again for someone to adjust check. The replacement appetizer was the Garlic Cheese Bread which honestly was lackluster at best, it had virtually ZERO garlic flavor as the cheese topping overpowered any other taste. Barro's Pizza has better Garlic Cheese Bread at a fraction of the price! The Julius Caesar Salad with Chicken missed the mark as well, the chicken was shredded and had a Mexican style seasoning on it, not what we were expecting. ordered takeout , love oreganos but my takeout was not great. Ordered spaghetti and meatballs and the meatballs were just thrown on the side no sauce or cheese on them that's the best part. Chicken Parm was over cooked even the noodles were hard and of course the cheese they should've put on my meatballs was piled high on the chicken parm. Way too much cheese it made it gross.
