Honestly the Caesar salad is great. The raviolis I would not recommend as an appetizer. Most of the pasta dishes are great. The service honestly has not been great the last four times we've been there, hoping that it will change. They do advertise that they take Apple Pay, which they don't, which was a bit embarrassing because I didn't take my purse. It was a last-minute thing the last time that we went to dine and my sister ended a paying. Our first time dining here for dinner was a success! We arrived on a busy Saturday night and was greeted by a friendly hostess who offered us inside or out door seating. It was rather cold so we opted inside. It was about 40 minutes but seem to go a lot quicker. Kaitlyn was our server who was friendly, efficient, helpful with suggestions and answers to our many menu questions. A give her a solid A! We started with the Italian wedding soup and house salad. The salad was outstanding but the soup was a bit lackluster. Although the meatball was large and delicious, the base left a lot to be desired. Hubby ordered the Italian sausage sandwich which he said was the BEST. It came with home made "chips" and the best green onion slaw which I devoured since he didn't care of it. I ordered the appetizer "6 pack shrimp" which was served with a slice of garlic bread (a little greasy but very tasty). The shrimp were large, perfectly cooked and packed with the flavor of garlic and spice. I will be ordering this again! They had changed their thin crust to something that was too chewy and bubbled up, leaving areas with no toppings and no cheese. It was YUCK!! So kind of disappointed in this spot today. I understand that there are a lot of outside influences going on and places are a bit up in the air so benefit of the doubt since I love Oregano's normally! Tonight I ordered a large pizza, calamari, and a salad. We ordered take out due to all the different traffic tombs because of the lock down. Again benefit of the doubt here with the restrictions! When we arrived I was told they were waiting for the pizza to finish. No biggie. Pizza came out, we got the Numero One-O, sausage, pepperonj, mushroom, onions, and peppers. Unfortunately, when we got home (7 minute drive) pizza was cold. Not warm, but cold. And it was over coomed/on the verge of burnt. Calamari was not real warm either and a bit chewier than normal. Oh well though its take out calamari so take it for what it's worth! Flavor was good on the calamari. Luckily the salad was cold too! Brynn at Oregano's in Surprise, AZ is the server you want to ask for when you eat at this location. I came in for a business meeting lunch a little over a week ago and she considered all our needs for this type of outing and was just the right amount of attentive. The salad I ordered was delicious and the environment was comfortable. Remember to tip your server extra if you take more time at one of their assigned tables than normal. Also, a reminder to the general public that even if the restaurant doesn't seem "busy" does not mean your server is not busy. More than likely they have a reduced amount of staff during these hours and that means more for each of them to do. My guy and I stepped by for lunch while running errands. One errand done and we were hearing Oregano's restaurant calling us The best part is that the weather is nice now and sitting outdoors is an option. The restaurant has a covered patio. We were seated quickly. Drink order taken right away by a friendly food server. My other half ordered the shrimp plate and I chose the veg sandwich. I just enjoy that sandwich Our food came quickly, which great because we were hungry! One of the things I love about this place is looking the vintage decor and enjoying the old TV shows , commercials or movies they run on vintage monitors. The other thing is when they open the patio side of the bar and the fresh air comes in. There used to be a lunch special, but since we usually get here after 4 , I'm not sure if it's still offered. Consistently great food. We have been here numerous times in various locations and never ordered anything we've not loved. Service and seating can be slow at times. Staff is always professional and efficient though. Take out, which we explored at the start of COVID has actually continued to be our go to. They do a great job of keeping cold items cold and hot items hot. For example their salads that have chicken and beef come disassembled-brilliant! The last couple of times I've been in for pickups though it was clear that these services are not being given much priority. Finally got to go inside and sit down to enjoy a meal the other day. My wife, my best friend and myself all decided to grab an early lunch here last Tuesday. We started with some of their Garlic Cheese Bread, my buddy and I split a large Puerto Penasco Street Pie, and my wife went with some of their mac and cheese. Here is how everything was.............. Garlic Cheese Bread- They give you a huge piece of bread, probably 18 inches long, at least. It was longer than the basket they served it in. Cheesy, garlicky, crunchy yet soft. It was a good piece of bread, and I would definitely get it again. Puerto Penasco Street Pie- This pizza comes loaded with a cilantro pesto style sauce, loads of rib eye, roasted poblano peppers, Wisconsin cheese, pico de gallo, white onion, cotija cheese and cilantro. Well my friends, this pizza may sound super duper weird, but this pizza is god damn delicious! I first had this pizza a few years back, just because I was curious. It has catapulted into my top 3 favorite pizzas of ANY kind in the Phoenix area. Everything on this pizza pairs perfectly. It's like eating street tacos on a pizza crust with cheese. So. Damn. Delicious! Pricey, but worth every single penny. (Get it well done!) Service was friendly, but a tad slow. Food was delicious and the portion sizes are massive. I left the restaurant with a headache from ONE DRINK, went to bed and woke up the next morning with my head spinning like I had drank a whole bottle of alcohol the night before. BEWARE OF ORDERING TO-GO: We ordered food to go for pick up at 6:15pm at 4:30pm. We finally ended up going home with it at 7:30pm! If that was the worst of our night, maybe I could have written it off to being New Year's Eve - the manager had apologized and told everyone waiting (all in the same boat we were) they were not prepared for how busy it would be tonight... Unfortunately, once we were home, we realized how bad it really was, as we had numerous problems with our order. 1) The Pablo Picasso salad did not come with fajita chicken or the cilantro,tomato, and onion topping, just lettuce, cheese and tortilla strips (see picture). At least they included dressing. 2) Since were talking about the dressing - luckily they included 2 containers of dressing because one of them was unusable because when opened it became clear there was bread floating in it (see picture). 3) They put the wrong wing sauce on our wings - we ordered Italian gold, and ended up with Buffalo sauce. 4) I'm not sure how long everything else (2 pizzas, chicken parm sandwich) were sitting there, but they were completely cold when we got home and we had to reheat everything in the microwave. Super irritated with this location! I ordered a Vino Bambino salad and ALWAYS change out the dressing to the Serrano dressing because the one it comes with is not good. I asked for it to be swapped out. When my husband went to pick up our order, he noticed they didn't include the Serrano dressing so he asked for it. The girl bagging it for us said she would grab one and put it in the bag. Nope. Never happened! He came home with the food and NO Serrano dressing was included.
