Found this place while looking for some crab Rangoon. Hooray! Other nearby places either used imitation crab or no crab (just "cream cheese puffs"). The ones we got here were the real deal and very well made. Wound up also ordering pork fried rice, egg flour soup, egg rolls, orange chicken, and honey walnut prawns. (Takeout.) EVERYTHING was very fresh. The fried items were clearly fried using fresh oil with no off taste. The prawns were very large and perfectly cooked. The orange chicken had little strips of nicely hand cut orange zest. Nothing was overly sweet or sticky. For example, the crab Rangoon sauce was homemade and perfectly flavored - not flavorless red gloop. As a bonus we got some homemade cookies thrown in. Very happy with this place - service friendly. After my poor experience at Best Taste, I appreciate Oriental Garden a lot more. I'd give it 3.25 stars. I'm not sure why I rarely see patrons when I stop by as their food and prices definitely deserve better. As I stated in a prior review, after a rough day at work, I often order the hot and sour soup. I'll order a medium container and finish the whole thing. I like that it's always piping hot, has a lot of bamboo shoots and scallions that taste crunchy and fresh, and has the proper heat and egg ratio. I have ordered a sampling of the dinner entrees and found most to be decent. My one pet peeve is that some are filled with water chestnuts and I really dislike water chestnuts. I frankly consider them to be cheap filler when I just want more of the main entree item. It's a Mom and Pop restaurant and if it's the same restaurant owners of my youth, it deserves more patronage. 3 years after my first visit, Oriental Garden still is my most favorite Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood as I keep coming back here for dinner take out after long day of work. Quality of food and service is always good and this is where I can always count on when I crave warm yummy food. Fried rice is here the best - perfect fluffiness not oily or dry. I recently discovered one of my most favorite veggie dish - Yu Shiang Broccoli. Fresh and crisp broccoli with very tasty soy based sauce. Hmmm yum. Even my husband asks for seconds. read more

We just moved to Campbell so we were in search of a good Chinese restaurant nearby for our takeout night Fridays. So we searched ... 4 stars on Yelp ... albeit there were only 58 reviews ... can't be that bad. I think we will drive further next time. Chinese restaurant with a huge menu! They seem to specialize in breakfast foods. We had breakfast and lunch there with both times the entire restaurant was packed. The first time there were about 10 parties in front of us and the wait was 20 minutes. It was worth the wait and prices are reasonable. read more

When I went to pick up the food its in an older complex/plaza. When I walked in I saw all old white folks so I was oh ooo its catered to non asian folks. Waited a few min and got my food. Was greeted right away, decor inside is a bit out dated maybe why there is a lot of old peeps in there?? Came home first thing I ate to get my expectation was the beef chow fun. If they can't make chow fun then I'd expect the meal to be bad. Chow fun was spot on!!! Nice and greasy I love it!!! Spoo good!! Wife started with the soup and loved it. Feed some to our daughter and she loved it too. Kung pao on the spicy side was food and the seafood was nice and buttery. Had fresh crab in it so that was unexpected treat!! Fried wonton (skin), chinese chicken salad (has peanuts for those with allergies), chicken chow fun, spare ribs in peking sauce, sweet and sour chicken, honey walnut prawns, tofu in oyster sauce. Service was a little slow even though we were the only ones there (one lady who works the floor and one cook [I'm assuming]). This is our go-to Chinese place, both because it's within walking distance, and the food is great. My husband adores the chicken chow mein, Mongolian beef, and egg rolls, and my favorites are the dry braised string beans, BBQ pork fried rice, and sweet & sour pork. But we both agree the pot stickers are some of the best around, plump and flavorful, and occasionally indulge in their wonderful prawns with Chinese walnuts. We've always gotten take-out, so haven't been served at table, but have been happy with the food every time. We love the family that runs this place, and will keep coming back! read more

Came here Wednesday and this is hands down the best Chinese food I've had here that reminds me of home in NYC. We had sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls, and wonton soup and egg flour soup. So good! I ordered hot and sour soup and egg rolls to go. The egg rolls were sub par due to the bland filling of nothing but cabbage and carrot. I can deal with the greasiness but egg rolls are only worth the calories if they are packed with flavor. The hot and sour soup was also a disappointment. It didn't have that nice depth of flavor and completely lacked the sour component. I was able to salvage it by adding a tablespoon of rice wine vinegar (which helped immensely). Then I realized that there was ZERO mushrooms in it. That made me sad since it's one of the best parts in my opinion and they add an interesting textural element. Oriental Garden this is the best CHINESE FOOD EVER!!! I have going there since 1981 yup 1981 that's 40 years. Ann and Johnny are like family. Besides my kids and now my grandkids also other family members they all go there. I even order from them for big family get together. They cater we have ordered for 100 plus people many times. This husband and wife team cooks from the heart. When you have a lot of Chinese people eating from there you know there good I was reading some of the other Yelp comments they were not crowded because most of there customers order take out from them. Not just one dish is good all the food they serve is not good there all GREAT!!!!! You will not be sorry if you order from them! Walnut Chinese dish is to die for. Alright. This is 4 stars for what you would expect. Super good authentic Chinese food. We ordered pick up on nye and it was super good. It also didn't make you feel bad after eating it. I love love love this local Chinese place. It's my go-to for the comfort greasy foods that make me feel happy and bloated, and my go-to for trying new things on the menu and being pleasantly surprised. I really enjoy the sweet and sour anything (pork, chicken, you name it). Eating in is always nice and service is great. Getting take out is also a great experience. Everything is fast and easy. Parking is limited but I've never had a problem, since at dinner time most of the other businesses that share the lot are closed. read more

One of the best in the area! When visiting my GF we usually hit this place up once or twice a month. Their Szechwan Beef is AMAZING! Get it extra spicy if you dare! We just got take out their last night. I think we've finally found our Chinese food sorce for the area after living here for 15 years. Yea!!! What we will ORDER AGAIN: Spicy Orange Flavored Chicken, Moo-Shu Pork, and Prawns with Chinese Walnuts. Staples that were also good: chow mein and egg rolls. We also had szechaun beef and sweet & sour pork. The meat quality and texture were excellent, but personally, I wanted stronger flavors in these two dishes. (pork wasn't "sour" enough for me) I read through many of their reviews and pulled out suggestions based on them. Based on the recommendations, next time I'd like to try: Sauted spaniach with pork Dry braised string beans General chicken Mongolian beef Hunan spicy beef All meats we good cuts. My husband is VERY picky regarding meat- he was pleased with everything he ate. I was very dissapointed with this restaurant. Paid 12$ for chicken chow main made with dark cheap chicken meat and lots of soy bean so much in fact the noodles crunched lol. My friend got a lunch plate that had rice and 5 pieces of sweet and sour for almost 12$ as well. Over priced with low quality. Will not be returning here it was pretty gross.
