We are spoiled for sushi in the South Bay. This place is my family's favorite, with a huge menu and a great selection of rolls and fish. The traditional Japanese decor really makes each meal feel special and I appreciate that the restaurant is quiet, in contrast to many others. I especially love the way they bring out unique sake cups for each person to choose from.

This is my favorite Japanese restaurant. They have been in business for many years. Even though there are other newer Japanese restaurants in the area. Sushi Masa is still our first choice given the quality of the food, especially if you are looking for authentic good quality sashmi/sushi. Their cooked dishes are very good also. Just attached pictures of the one we ate today. The omakase chirashi is very good. Big piece, great quality and very fresh and tasty fish. The Sake Sampler is very good too. They have several varieties to choose from. I got the Sushi Masa one. The server, Sunny, is great. She remembers us and always have a great smile and service. Bottomline: there is no gimmick. Just good quality Japanese food with good sake choices. Will be back soon.

Oh my god. I LOVE this sushi spot! The service, the decor, the food. The sashimi combo platter was incredible - all of the fish melts in your mouth. It is such high quality and great quantity for the price. The miso soup is also excellent. We also enjoyed the tempura appetizer. The manager/owner (?) was so sweet and attentive, and had a bubbly energy and connected with everyone in the restaurant. I will definitely be coming again.

Still the best in the business! Addicted to the seafood pancake- remember to order it when you first arrive!

Stopped by on a Wednesday evening craving nigiri. The restaurant was not busy at all and we were seated immediately. Decided to splurge on a bottle of sake and the Trust Chef nigiri. The fish was fresh and I especially enjoyed the uni and otoro. We also ordered the Tonkatsu. My husband enjoyed the marinated bean sprouts that came on the side. Overall we had an enjoyable experience and we will add this place to our list of go-to sushi restaurants!

My party of 3 came to Sushi Masa around 12:30pm on a Thursday since it was close by. There were three other tables at the time, and we were quickly seated and given menus. The atmosphere is super nice, dimly lit with an area with floor seating and a separate area with tables and chairs, with nice decorations throughout. The menu is pretty extensive, so we took a while to look through it before deciding on what to order. The service was excellent and we were frequently checked on and dishes came out quickly. -deluxe chirashi sushi ($35.99): this was just what I wanted, and came with a good selection of sashimi over rice, along with some seaweed salad, shredded radish, a shiso leaf, lemon slice, and miso soup on the side. The fish was super fresh and filling. -cherry blossom ($17.95): this was pretty good but nothing amazing, and the fish had a slightly sticky texture, but the sauce paired really nicely with the roll. -mango bridge ($18.95): this was nice and had sweetness from the mango that was really nice with the salmon. -2 item lunch combo ($17.99): we got shrimp tempura and tonkatsu, and it comes with rice, salad and miso soup. This was a gerat deal and super filling. I was surprised that the salad came with thousand island dressing instead of a soy or sesame salad dressing that I'm more used to. The shrimp tempura was perfectly flight and crispy without being oily. Overall, Sushi Masa had great quality fish in the chirashi, pretty solid rolls and a great value lunch combo. If you're craving sushi, I'd say this is likely the best option in the area!

Stopped by last minute to enjoy for late sushi . Ambiance makes me feel like I'm in Japan . It is like a mini ryokan . We ordered the trust chef sashimi and okonmiyaki . It was indeed pretty good toro and amaebi . Japan was of course better. Okonmiyaki was definitely up there . Service was great

Tucked away in the shopping center, you'll find sushi masa. While I've driven past many times this was my first time in. I had the masa rainbow roll. It was not only delicious but visually pleasing. I hope to go back and try more interesting items on the menu.

Sushi Masa is personally my top favorite sushi restaurant in town. We have come here many times since 2020 until present, and were always happy with the service. Our favorite order is always the Trust Chef Sashimi Dinner. All the fresh sashimi is top quality, vibrant colors, and beautifully displayed. Another one that absolutely makes my day is the uni sashimi. 100% satisfaction, of course in my opinion The restaurant is very beautiful, cozy with a warm ambience. The wooden decor, lightings, tables and chairs together help make it look authentic to the Japanese culture. All the plates are very beautiful as well. In addition, I also enjoy that they have various seating areas including bars, and tables. The noice level in the restaurant whenever I get to notice is from low to average, so that is very nice! They also have sake bombs and Japanese beer on tap. I don't really drink alcohol so I had their iced matcha latte. It was also fantastic! The servers are friendly and chefs are super professional! Bathroom is a bit small but lovely and clean! All in all, it's a bit on the pricey end but it is definitely worth my money. I come here once every 2 months or so and always have a pleasant time! Will definitely recommend for going on a date, or small groups gathering!

Sushi Masa has the best squid teriyaki dinner I've ever tasted in my life. Try it.

Since the sushi place by our house closed, I've been searching for another sushi place. Never thought to return to Sushi Masa that I used to go to on a weekly basis. We went back there several times recently and it was just as good as i remembered The service and the quality of their sushi is excellent, the freshness of the fish & the ambience. The sushi master is wonderful he made us laugh. We always sit at the sushi bar. We order sushi and drink sake and WE always have a wonderful time @ Sushi Masa . We highly recommend this place for sushi and they have excellent dinners. Also everything is so fresh.... If you like sushi, you try this place soon you will not be disappointed.

First time trying this sushi restaurant recommended by a friend. The room we were seated in was nice and semi private which was fun for our group. The fish within our rolls was fresh and satisfying! I was with a big group that also ordered udon, a variety of apps and nigiri. I didn't get a chance to take photos of everything as we were all starving. Will definitely be back to try the sushi boat and some of the other items I haven't seen at other restaurants. Give it a try if you're in the are! Parking is easy as there's a big parking lot shared by the other businesses in the strip mall.

But after weighing the price of the all-you-can-eat vs ordering exactly what we were craving a la carte, we decided to just order off the menu, which was the smart move since it was much less expensive and we ended up full. The place is casual and a little not-fancy decor or ambiance wise. You wouldn't bring anyone here you wanted to impress. . .but the food is what's important, right? The sushi was good! The rolls were large, the options were creative, and everything was tasty and met expectations. I wouldn't say it's elevated sushi, where there are layers to the flavors and you go "wow". But you get your sushi and see the portions are a good size and are happy that you get to dig in and eat satisfying sushi. I'd come back here again, especially for casual sushi where you want good value. Service was good as well - again, nothing fancy or overly attentive, but perfectly adequate for the level of restaurant. Also, it came pretty quickly, which was a plus as well (it wasn't that crowded when we went).

We grabbed the menus ourselves from a nearby table. We originally wanted to try their AYCE, but since the whole table had to participate, and one of us wasn't that hungry, we decided to order a la carte. We're glad we did. The 3 of us were already stuffed after sharing an appetizer and 4 signature rolls. The sweet potato tempura came out piping hot; the batter wasn't too thick. While the dipping sauce lacked flavor, the dish was still ok, and not too oily. We're impressed by the number of signature rolls they offered, and tried to pick something we hadn't seen at other sushi restaurants. My favorite was the lobster tail tempura that came with the Boujee rolls. It was tasty with a light batter. The plating was beautiful. The torched salmon, shrimp tempura and spicy tuna were good as well, but I didn't really see any real crab inside. The Skittles roll was pretty delicious, too. I liked that it had unagi, crab, tobiko, and avocado among other things. The Umami roll also had unagi and carb, but the salmon skin and bonito flakes were what made the roll special. My daughter didn't care for the salmon skin, though. The Black Mamba was interesting if you liked softshell crab. I didn't care for the macadamia nuts, though. Portion size was huge. However, their rolls weren't rolled very tightly nor cut evenly, and their rice was on the sweeter side as other Yelpers had mentioned. Since most of the rolls had similar sauces, they kind of tasted very similar, despite the different ingredients. I wouldn't mind coming back again to try other items on their menu when I'm in the area.

Everything was courteous and polite and welcoming. The food was not bad either. The Volcano Roll was a new item for us and it was kid-approved instantly. I also got the Warriors Roll and the waitress suggested the Dragon Roll after I decided on eel and not shrimp. The prices are reasonable as well. I took out some points because of the strong soy sauce smell when entering the restaurant. The decoration is not fancy but slightly run down. When I used the restroom, I smelled weed, which is also a point reducer. Other than that, I don't mind ordering from them again.

The egg, though, was hard boiled and didn't have a soft center, which I like. That seemed like a bit of a shortcut to be honest. My wife ordered a sizzling dish and liked it - perhaps that's their speciality. Service was good, the inside was pretty typical - nothing fancy, but nothing missing either.
