I've had multiple tattoos and piercings done here and have referred several friends as well. I want to give a quick shoutout to Iran for his solid tattoo work, always professional and consistent. A huge thank you to Joel. He's the reason I'll be coming back, and only for him. He's knowledgeable, clean, and makes the whole experience comfortable every time. Unfortunately, the overall customer service has been disappointing. When inquiring about flash tattoo sizes, the responses -- especially from whoever runs the Instagram account -- came off unprofessional and unnecessarily sarcastic. It's frustrating to feel dismissed when you're a loyal customer who has spent money here and made several referrals. Joel and Iran are the ones creating positive experiences. Getting my first piercing and I've got my friend with me for moral support. Called in to see about meeting their piercer. They said he'd be available at 2pm. We show up and he's not there, weird energy in the shop. There are just two tattoo artists on-site at the time hanging out upstairs. They don't come down so we have to shout up to them from the shop entrance to explain that we are looking for Joel the piercer, it's my first time, and I'm considering getting a cover-up tattoo etc etc. The guy recommends we wait while the reasonable lady recommends we come back later. No follow-ups on the cover-up tattoo bit so we dip then come back an hour later. We get back and Joel there but they take my friend first to get her piercing and don't let me come back to see the process. So I'm waiting through this whole process and there are tattoo artists available but not really approaching me or asking me anything despite me going through their art books. Whatever, right? It's my turn to get pierced and then the guy tattoo artist from before zooms down the steps and starts chatting up my moral support (he approached her ass immediately smh lol). The tattoo dude vanishes again before my piercing is done. The whole time Joel is talking to me calmly, keeps me distracted with some lowkey life lessons and relationship advice disguised as stories. If Joel were a doctor you could say he has the optimal bedside manner. He's very knowledgeable, clean, precise, and chill. He even recommended a bomb creole restaurant to check out later. Oh, and even his reason for running late was extremely valid. Definitely left a tip for him too considering how good his prices on piercings are. If the rating was for just Joel it'd be a 5/5 But since the rating is for the shop I have to give it 2/5 because fr every bit of my experience with the shop (excluding Joel) could've been better. Especially when a mf lets it be known that they're a first-timer. There was a lot of space and opportunity to talk about the tattoos to both of us when we were first waiting for Joel. Then again when I was waiting for my piercings but nah, just weird vibes from everyone but Joel. 2/5 read more

My favorite place to get tattooed! I've had 5+ pieces done by Brittney who started as an apprentice and has now gone pro. Her style and lines are so clean and consistent that I can't go anywhere else now that I've come to expect this quality. Her art is beautiful! She's drawn up pieces for me in less than an hour from me telling her my idea to it being translated to paper then to skin. Been coming here since January 2014 to get tatts by Morgan Deeble and she is just the best!!! You can tell her what you want or even if you don't exactly know what you want but have an idea of kinda like what you're into, etc. and she'll put it together for you. You will not regret it! I've had 9 tatt piece done by Morgan already and we're now working on my 10th piece...a back piece...she will tie it up with the two upper and the lower back piece that I already have there. All my pieces are unique exactly how I want them. She is very creative and always goes beyond my expectation. She also travels to other countries, goes on tours, and tatt conventions where people are already making appointments with her just to get some work done by her. After researching a couple places around here, I chose Original Tattoo because I liked all their work the best. When I called to make an appointment, the guy on the phone said it was best to just come in and talk to someone, so that's what I did. I hopped in my car and drove the 8 minutes over there. When I walked in, someone greeted me right away and asked what they could do for me. I told him I was just looking for some script on my arm, to be done tonight if possible but I could always come back tomorrow. Jon Daniel stepped up and said he could do that for me. After going over exactly what I wanted, I made an appointment to come back the next day at one. When I came back the next day at 12:45, he was there finishing up the stencil. It took some time to get the size just right, and a bit of patience to place it on my arm without it curving too much. I wanted my text in a straight line, which is harder to set up then you think! I appreciate his attention to detail. A lot of other artists would have tried it twice and just called it good enough. This was my third tattoo, and quite far my most painless. As a matter of fact, it barely felt like anything until the last word, which was just on the edge of my inner elbow. It came out perfect! I'm so happy. I can't wait to schedule another appointment with him to touch up the tattoo on my left arm. read more

Came here for advice on my tat, spoke with an artist there named Danny and he was really helpful explaining all my options before setting up an appointment. Came back and got a quarter sleeve done in a few hours. Everyone said it'd be painful but I barely felt anything and was able to show off my new tat that same evening. It's been a couple years since I had Danny Nguyen work in some ink on me, and to date it was by far one of the best decisions of my life. I provided him with an image of a Hindu god, Ganesh. It had been years since I had gotten my last tattoo and completely forgot about the level of pain involved. The image was very detailed and Danny was able to get every last detail in it. He was very professional and took his time to make sure it was exactly what I expected. It took a bit longer than originally expected and hurt quite a bit, but worth every painful minute of it. I'm ready for another soon, just need to figure out exactly what I want, but there is no one else I would consider going to besides Danny. read more

Original Tattoo is one of the cleaner shops I have visited and the staffs friendliness is on par with 85% of the shops I have visited out there. I notice a lot of tattoo shop reviews "in general" are a bit on the harsher side. A tattoo shop is a place where you can be real and hang out. Employees shouldn't have to pretend to be overly nice or slave over customer service. I think of tattoo shops much like bars, ya go in for one thing and one thing only. Do you really need hand holding? If so, maybe a tattoo isn't for you? When everyone in the shop is working with the gun in hand, it's not always convenient for them to look up from what they are doing. So forgive them for not addressing your highness the minute you walk in the door. Sometimes when you walk in a tattoo shop it can take a few minutes to be acknowledged. I hate to sound artsy but they ARE creating something permanent on your body. It's considerate to let the artist get to a comfortable spot where they can stop, at which point they can address you. My friend got work done by Monkey and I was worked on by Jay. In fact, I got my whole back done and Jay put in close to 40 hours (one session was worth 7 hrs). We are both happy and my friend said he will be going back to add to it. My next tattoo will also be back with Original Tattoo. Who goes to a tattoo shop for the customer service? You're going for the artwork. If you want to be spoon fed, skip the tattoo and go to Starbucks so you can order your skinny upside down frothy latte like my 115lb girlfriend ya pansy! It's a Tattoo shop people, relax a little. Don't walk into a place like this expecting to be treated like a princess. Real shops aren't all smoke and mirrors like LA Ink and the likes in Hollywood.
