This place is like the plague, NEVER go here again. I went to the drive-through around 8:30 PM, it was absolutely empty. Imagine this...waiting for your burger and "CHILI CHEESE FRIES" for 15 minutes. It was unprofessional and the person at the drive-through seemed like he was on something. Not only that, but they were horsing around and got my order wrong. They didn't even put chili on my fries...which I specifically asked for. It was horrible, bad, and ugly. I have never been so unsatisfied with their level of customer service. I am not coming here again and if you don't want to either, there is a Taco Bell down the street. read more

Each time we have returned to see if there is a better batch of chili that many rave about, we get either oversalted globs on fries, hot dog or burger, or tasteless globs. For a place that is supposed to be famous for chili, we are disappointed by gross globs of what attempts to resemble chili but with many fillers. There is no telling if that is real meat in there. The prices are fair and the service is decent hence the added star. Chili cheese fries, dogs, and burgers are usually tempting except when they come from this place. I would rather make my own or go to other fast food for a chili fix. Sad, we really wanted to like this place. read more

This is the only Tommy's I've ever been too it's right down the street from me. The food is delicious, I just get their chili cheese fries and they are a mouthful of greatness! whenever I come I usually bring my brothers and the times we have come we usually go through the drive-thru, for some reason they always mess up our order, whether it's if we asked for no onions and they put onions, or no chili on our burgers and they put chili or get our drink wrong too, I'm not sure what the miscommunication is with the people working the drive-thru window but it sucks. Going inside to order is totally fine. I'm giving it 3 stars for the lack of listening and clarifying and for the sheer frustration we feel coming home ready to grub and it's not what we ordered. I have been dining at Tommy's off n on since I was a little kid - I started over on rampart. Today was my 51st. Birthday . What happened to Tommy's?? We spent $46 dollars - I ordered a double cheese- where's the chili I asked my family. I went up to the counter and said can I have a side of chili ? The girl tells the younger kid -ring him up for a side of chili . I said you know I shouldn't have to pay for chili if you barely put some in my burger - I said but you know I guess I'll pay for it - she responded- we are only allowed to use one spoonful of chili per burger ! I paid and quite frankly was real turned off . I wasn't going to write about some bad night at Tommy's but this just irritated me cause I was thinking how much of a tightwad this management team must be . I mean really to micromanage a serving of chili on a burger ?? How many gazzillions has this company made and your worried about charging a customer for extra chili . The side was $2.79 also my sons burger was wrong and we had to wait for his. It just boggles me. My other choice was in n out and I should have went with my first instinct. Despite the number of times I`ve been here, I actually find the chili to be pretty gross. I sometimes worry that it`s just mushy cardboard with a diluted seasoning packet - which DOES happen, just hopefully not here. We stopped here after an event we had near by. We ordered chili cheese fries and a burger. The wrapping was terrible it was to go they gave us no napkins and the chili and cheese was stuck to the yellow paper they shoved our food into! This place is OMG to the OMG terrible! Who in their right mind is proud of preparing this food and serving it to customers. My son asked me if I wanted something to eat because he was going on a burger run to Tommy's. I don't remember if had been there before, but I was down for a double cheeseburger. When he returned, as they started to unbag the food, I honestly thought this was a prank. All of the bags were drenched in a dark orange tint colored grease. Enough grease to stain a small table top. If he would have used my car to pick up the food I would've ran out of the house in panic mode worried about my upholstery. There was enough grease to fill two tablespoons pooled on the bottom of the carryout box alone. This stuff looked terrible and tasted nasty. My cheeseburger was one of the worst I ever had. The rest of the family got chili burgers and chili cheese fries. The grease was everywhere. I had plain french fries, and like the burger, was the worst tasting food I ever had. I ate about a third of my food and tossed out the rest. I don't know how this place is even in business. It must be the fancy sign out front that draws people in. If they had a special day that offered an entire combo meal for free, you wouldn't catch me there. This food is not even fit for zombies. read more

Oh my Gah! The best chili on everything I've ever had. I'd ask them to replace my fountain drink with chili if I wouldn't appear like a big momma. I would come here more often but my hips and thighs would hate me for it. The food is served HOT as they cook to order so be careful. I made the mistake of diving right in with a salivating mouth and burned my tongue on my first ever Tommy fry :( but no fret, they have delicious food. This has more to do with today's service and the intentional slow down of there normally great service.They advertise 73 cent burgers today for being in business for 73 years. We went to the Mission Grove unit, there was a line as we expected, about an hour wait to order. While waiting in line we found out that after one orders it would be 2 hours before you got your food. There's no excuse for this kind of poor service just because your trying to cut down on how many "73" cent burger you sell. It will be a long time before I go to a Tommy's again. read more

I didn't think their burgers tasted any different than Wienerschnitzel's burgers. If I were just rating their customer service I would give them 5 stars. I heard so many positive things about Tommy's before I went for the first time. However most of those comments were made about the original Tommy's in LA. I was a bit disappointed with the food at this location. Chili tasted fake almost like chemicals or soap. Burgers were poor quality. Not to mention service was slow and customer service isn't much of a consideration here. Easy to see why this place isn't crowded. I love Tommys, but the customer service today was not the best. I came in and order food for myself and my 4 year old. (#4 and a cheese burger )The cashier was very hard to understand, as in she spoke softly and i kept having to repeat myself. With that I waited longer then usual for my food and it was still incorrect. When i got my order, i checked it and my daughter burger had chili. I then told the cashier I didnt ask for a chili burger. She spoke to another women in the kitchen ( right in front of me) saying she said she didnt want chili, she then yes she ordered chili, (keep in mind that this is for my 4 year old). She then looked at me grabbed the chili burger THREW it to aside, as shes doing this says she will make another. When it is ready, i got back up and once again i check it and from afar she says in a sarcastic tone it doesnt have chili. At that point i just reply loudly Thank you. What happened to this location? I honestly have had nothing but good experiences and fresh food here for years. I had read some of the other reviews but I hadn't experience it. Today ran by early for a double chili cheeseburger (Hey, I'm on vacation, all bets off - no rules). Bun was so stale that it was hard and chewy even drowning in chili. It was inedible. The meat was so dry it had a jerky like texture. And have they now made their patties even tinier? It's like three pieces of construction paper...and today the same consistency. Baker's has those tiny patties, and I always knew that Tommy's were small, but now they look even smaller than Baker's...main difference is Baker's never gave me a bun that was left over from night shift. One bad experience and I go from 5 stars to 1 star? Yes...that burger caused me emotional damage. I love burgers. So much. That burger was the worst burger I've eaten (well half of) in ten years at least. I remember driving through the south and I got a Hardy's Famous or whatever they call it there...it was swimming in sauces and fell apart in my hands...that was horrible.Take that California license plate!!! I can't believe people actually swallow this and think it is food. Got a chili dog with cheese. Chili looked like vomit and tasted burned. Pushed that aside and tried for the dog. I am so disappointed in myself for eating this. I hadn't been to tommys in years but I found out there was one by my job. I decided to go one day since I thought a chocolate shake sounded good and so did a chili cheese burger. However, I came to this one and found out that they do not serve shakes here. I do not know how they would not serve their best item (in my opinion) at their locations. Apparently, the shakes are only sold in the LA area. I should have left after finding that out but decided to still eat here. First of all, this place is empty and that should have been a sign. The chili cheese burger was not good at all and not how I remembered it. The chili tasted pretty gross and was really greasy. I now feel bad for eating this. I will not be back. read more
