One of the two best Thai spots in Santa Clara -- and it happens to be right in my neighborhood. I've eaten here three times and ordered large takeout spreads to feed a party of 10 at home. This place delivers every time. Thai food is my go-to comfort cuisine, and Oros Thai does it right. My family and relatives -- including those with Thai in-laws who know their food -- all agreed: nearly every dish is delicious. The one exception was the pineapple fried rice, which fell flat compared to everything else. Our must-order dishes: Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Panang Curry with pork, Roti, Tiger Prawns, and Crispy Pork. All consistently excellent. Skip the pineapple fried rice and you truly cannot go wrong here. read more

This was our favorite Thai spot to go to in the area. The food has always been great long with the service. However today it was extremely disappointing. We stopped by today for dinner & there was an older lady serving us. She was incredibly rude. We ordered our first dish and she kept interrupting us. We were about to ask her to remove something from our dish and before we got a second word out, she put her hand in our face and said "i have a question first", we were beyond baffled. Her tone was passive aggressive the whole time taking our order. And she kept interrupting us while we tried to order. I ordered a pad Thai without peanuts bc im mildly allergic but she didn't even give us a chance to tell her. She kept saying "add what else". And then my dish somehow still came with a dish of peanuts on the side. 2 stars bc all the other times were good but I've never experienced anything like this before. read more

I loved the sweet chili sauce and the crispy basil leaves were a great addition to the meal. + Tofu w string bean (4/5): Also addicting! Oros Thai is wonderful, as always. Even when busy, the staff and food are the best. We love the seat in the corner, watching as the staff works efficiently. Our favorite foods are: chicken panang curry with brown rice, crispy veggie spring rolls, and tofu fresh spring rolls. Oros Thai Tea is perfect. Lunch Special Review!!! Tucked away in a plaza. The lunch special here is a good deal! You get an entree of choice with a small soup and two crispy wontons. I got the Pad See Ew. [Food] Takeout - Yum Woon Sen ($21.95): I've tried to find this dish in every Thai restaurant I go to ever since I had this in Thailand. They either don't have it on their menu or don't make it very good. Then I found Oros Thai and I'm so glad I did! Their silver noodle salad has a good amount of seafood, lots of noodles as well as salad! I was most impressed with their chili & lime dressing. I got this in medium spice but it wasn't that spicy for me. - Chicken Tom Yum Soup (L $18.95): Delicious! One of the few places that make this well. This review is long overdue. I've been living around the area for a few years now and this place always popped up when I'm looking for a Thai restaurant. Came here on a whim on a random weekend and luckily they weren't busy. We ordered the tom yum, pad see ew, and roasted duck curry. The yum yum felt a bit mild in flavor and a bit watered down. The pad see ew was also mid. It wasn't as flavorful as other places and a bit bland. The roasted duck curry was good but there were barely any roasted ducks. The most disappointing part was that they didn't serve any rice with the curry. We ended up ordering steamed rice and sticky rice. The service wasn't great either. The server was a bit rude and not attentive. I would've understand if they were packed and busy, but there were only 4 tables that were occupied, including ours. Maybe it was a bad day for her and the chef. The only positive was the size of the dishes. We had enough leftovers for dinner. This place overall should be 2.5/5 but I'll round it up to 3. My family and I visited Oros after a visit from Kaiser since this was really close. This is a pretty solid option for a group dinner! We did family style and the service was good- they refilled our water and were consistent with ensuring there were no peanuts in our dishes due to allergies. Came here on a Monday during lunch time, and so glad I did! The items are about $17-21 per entree and it comes with a soup. We ordered the chicken pad Thai, chicken panang curry, and sticky rice with pork. So yummy!! I'm usually opposed to chicken because of it being dry, but I'm so glad I got it. It was juicy and perfectly cooked. We got everything mild, and there was still a perfect kick. The pad Thai was exactly what I thought, and the curry wasn't watery at all. Super flavorful! We both ordered pad Thai--hers a chicken and mine pork, and thought the portion was quite huge. We could've probably been fine with one order, but we both were quite hungry. After all, sometimes your eyes tend to overestimate the abilities of your stomach, lol. For the taste, I found it okay. Compared to the other Thai places I've been, I didn't get that flavorful sweet salty, and tangy sauce from the noodles. It felt mostly sweet, with a bit of heat (mild spicy girl). However, it wasn't bad. I just wished there was a little more zest and flavor. Noodles were tasty--had a spring and chew to each bite, which was nice. I guess price wise with the amount of food, it seems okay. Servers were all super nice and attentive in filling water. Expensive compared to others, but okay if you share. Overall, 3.5 stars but rounding to 4. Pro tip: lunch prices are cheaper than weekend/dinner. If you want to be economical, just come on a weekday lunch time :) read more

We have yet to sit in and eat, but we ordered today and all three dishes were out of this world. 6 stars all the way. You must try the Red Curry, the spicy cat fish with green beans and the Pad see ew with chicken. I loved the cat fish dish. The best, it was spicy, well fried or salted with crunchy green beans and peppers. You add spicy sample to it and it was a fantastic dish. Next the pat you with chicken little bit mild for me, but then again, their secret spicy sauce made up for all spices. Lastly, the red curry was just fantastic and out of this world. My friend has been to this place quite often because it's near his work. He recommended to check it out as I am in the area. There is plenty of parking in the plaza. You might have to be careful with lunch / dinner hours because the restaurant is close to Kaiser hospital. I went at 12:30 pm on a Sunday. Although I got seated right away, you might experience wait time if you have large party. The place has festive decoration with Christmas season. We received complimentary soup as a starter. I didn't catch the name. The broth is smooth, not thick. I savored the coconut sweet and sour flavor combo from that soup. I found pineapple, cabbage, tofu, and white gourd. It was so warm and perfect for winter. My friend told me that they switch up the complimentary soup often. We ordered from lunch special menu: beef pad Thai medium spicy (could increase it a bit more) and Panang curry with pork hot spicy. I enjoyed a faint kick of spiciness from the curry more than pad Thai. The portion is pretty good for lunch. I truly enjoyed the food and fast service. We love Thai food, and we love Oros Thai! Went here to bring my girlfriend back to life after she got her blood drawn at Kaiser. Unfortunately it worked, so I guess we'll have to keep coming back! She got the Panang curry (always her favorite) and I tried the papaya salad. Both dishes were great and they were plated beautifully. Really like the attention to detail they have here. The veggies in my papaya salad were fresh, and the grilled shrimp were sooooo good. Also appreciated the soup they give before your meal. The crab fried rice was a standout--light, flavorful, and packed with crab. I ordered the Pad Thai with jumbo prawns and asked for it spicy--it delivered on the heat and flavor! The prawns were big and cooked just right. We also tried the chicken satay, which was decent--not the best I've had, but still good. What really impressed me was how fast the service was--surprisingly quick for a Thai restaurant. One thing to note: the portion sizes were a bit on the smaller side compared to some of the more popular Thai spots in the area. That said, the taste and quality made up for it. I had the Tom Yum soup beef with a side of white rice and was very happy with it. Though next time I will eat it faster before it gets cold because as it got colder the sour flavor was a little too overpowering. Service was nice, answered my questions about what was popular and they seemed very attentive with all the dine in tables. Chicken Pad Thai ($17.95) and Roti ($10.95), came to about $34. I added tip so the total was $39 and some change. Price was typical for Thai places nowadays like if not $1 more. Portion was a bit less than most Thai places I've ordered from, but still an okay amount. Quality was good, tasted great, but I'll need to check out other Thai places to decide on a regular lunch spot. I do usually order Pad see Ew, so I'll go at least one more time to try that. read more

The service was awesome, servers were very attentive and quick. The ambiance was like any other Thai restaurant, the low lighting, the carpet floors, and Thai music in the background. The bonus is you actually can see into the kitchen and see the chefs cooking up the food which to me was entertaining. Now comes the food, the papaya was too sour, way too much citrus. The bbq chicken was okay not something I would get again. The pad thai was a little on the sweeter side. The tom yum was good and hit the spot.
