Warning: a lot of the food is completely raw! As long as you expect that, this place is really great! I got the super seed toast with the figzilla (almond based) nut butter, and it was delicious! It wasn't too sweet, which I prefer, and it had a great texture... not grainy. The mealk latte has the mouth feel of a milk-based latte and a mildly creamy sweet flavor with no overpowering nut flavor. You can taste all the ingredients in each of the food items and they are blended perfectly. You can tell someone who truly knows and cares about food made the recipes. The store was a bit hard to find as it's hidden behind tall bushes, but once you walk in, it makes sense because it makes the place feel like an oasis from the city. A hidden treasure awaits on a small dead end street in Lawndale. Though the address is listed as Hawthorne Blvd; it's really on a 162nd; a little dead end street. Though not visible to the busy traffic on the road; I will not be surprised if this place will soon be very popular. I tried out OrVeganic recently with a friend and had a very pleasant lunch here. The place is cute and just my type of place. It's small, cozy and cute with comfortable pillows on their benches. One can enjoy a casual yet intimate time with friends. It's a coffee house and protein bar and thus they have a range of different drinks as well as entrees. I tried out first one of their coffees. My choice was the Cinnamon Vanilla Maple Latte. This drink definitely is one that will kick start your day! It's strong, packed with protein and filled with flavor. For the entrees; my friend and I got the TexMex Tofu Scramble and the Almond Chardonnay Cheddar Alfredo. The TexMex Tofu Scramble reminded me a lot of home. It had a homemade quality feel. It was very hearty with lots of tofu along with tomatoes, red peppers, onions and garlic and avocado seed guacamole. The Almond Chardonnay Cheddar Alfredo was also very nice. This one was creamy and cheesy with sautéed scallions, mushrooms and garlic mixed with almond mealk, cashew butter and chardonnay cheddar cream cheese sauce. Versus regular pasta it had sorghum and quinoa fusilli. Last but not least, my friend I tried their raw jam yogurt with cashew cheese yogurt and raw seasonal fruit jam with a hint of maple. Don't be fooled by the simple jar because there is so much goodness in this! This was delicious and a nice way to end the meal here! When you pull up to OrVeganic make sure you pull up HUNGRY. They don't play about portion sizes here which is important since vegan food can tend to be a bit pricier. You definitely get your money's worth! I ordered the Billy Jack Bowl which has a layer of beans, nachos, and jackfruit. It really is like the bowl that keeps giving. The jackfruit was prepared so flavorfully and the bean layer with the coleslawish (??) type mixture on top WOW. And it just keeps going because it's so much food. Amazing. This place is very hidden, but has a cool vibe when you walk in. I was meeting for a working lunch and even though there were only 2 other people at 11:30 we were told we could not sit at 4 top. Oh my god! I really love this place in the ghetto of Lawndale. The door is on the side of street of Hawthorne right close to the 405. This place is so AMAZING, I'm 3 weeks into my plant based/ vegan diet/ lifestyle change so I am exploring different vegan restaurants. This is the best place I came across, in my 3 weeks of exploration. Prior to my diet change my favorite thing to indulge in was a cheesy pasta dish, that would be my ultimate carb load and dairy (cheese cream sauce, topped with Parmesan cheese) go to satisfy dish. It's topped with dollop of a "sour cream" type of imitation that is sooooo good! Also their almond mealk is out of this world! The best I've ever had it is soooooo fresh. It's located in a hidden corner right before the 405 freeway entrance but is easy to visit as it has its own parking lot. Everything on the menu is vegan and delicious. You also have to try the homemade almond milk- they are generous with giving samples and make espresso-based drinks with the milk as well, my latte was great. I was super impressed by the hamburger and jackfruit tacos! While they don't perfectly mirror their non-vegan counterparts, they are super tasty. The hamburger is sort of deconstructed and comes topped with guacamole, it's something you'd eat with fork and knife rather than pick up. The tacos come with a side of blue corn chips and salsa, yum! This restaurant is a hidden gem! I was looking for a nourishing meal after 2 hours of training on a Saturday afternoon, and just happened to find OrVeganic. A friend and his 2 kids joined me, and we were all in heaven! The staff has AMAZING customer service! Our server was extremely knowledgeable, offered suggestions, happily answered all of our questions, and offered a variety of samples. So far, I suggest you try their almond mealk (yes, that's spelled correctly lol). I'm not a flavored coffee person, but figured I'd try their vanilla latte since they use pure vanilla bean. OMG...it was soooooo good! You can't go wrong with ANY of their nut butters. And their puddings are the perfect treat to curb your dessert craving. My goal is to try one of each food item on the menu. So far, I've had the Almond Chardonnay Cheddar Alfredo. Again, I wouldn't normally go for something like pasta, but I was told it was their most popular dish, so I ordered it. It was so flavorful! I had leftovers to enjoy later that day. My best friend drives all the way from San Diego for their food so when I stopped by SoCal recently I had to check it out. They had me try the Organic Almond Mealk Latte made with their homemade high protein almond Mealk. The chips and guacamole were really good. And for the main dishes we had the Creamy Alfredo With Forbidden Balls and the Forbidden Hamburguesa. The buger was so damn good and I keep thinking about the beautiful homemade forbidden patty. Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. Truly amazing food. Big fans of the nut butters and fig/maple oatmeal to take home. For lunch, we usually order billy jack bowl and alfredo pasta and have plenty of leftovers. Well worth the price. Absolutely love eating clean healthy food and the whole raw, natural, pure approach to the menu items. NOTE TO THE OWNER: 1. you have got to replace the restaurant sign and include the words "cafe". No one really knows that it is more than just a coffee house by the sign. 2. Please consider using a natural sourdough starter for the super seed bread rather than yeast. 3. Have copies of the cafe menu at the farmers markets booths and Farmers Market staff should mention the cafe. 4. Consider putting an umbrella outside to make the little patio space a little more inviting. read more

Hidden gem! Love this quaint cafe in an unexpected area of South Bay. Everything I've tried has been delicious. I especially love the penne mushroom pasta, guacamole and salsa (the salsa is sooo good!) and the split pea soup. Service is always great. If it's your first visit, they let you sample all the nut butters they make and sell there and at farmer's markets. Parking lot is located behind the restaurant. read more

I discovered the place on a whim from the faint outlines of the word "Orveganic" on the building out on Hawthorne Blvd last night and decided to stop by the morning after as I didn't realize it was just a few blocks from my house. (The actual entry is on the other side of the building) The menu intrigued me, but at the same time it wasn't generally a cuisine I gravitated to. It screamed a bit too wholesome and plant based even for this vegan, but I love supporting small local vegan joints so I decided to check it out. They are a (whole) plant-based, vegan cafe with a menu that is entirely organic and gluten-free with plant milks made in-house. (That my friends is quite the challenge and very commendable) I ordered: Mushroom Alfredo - (4/5) I also agree with the previous reviewer that the dish is a bit too sweet. The sweetness overwhelmed the umami-ness of the dish and masked the light handed seasoning of it. We all know that a winning alfredo sauce is one that marries the cheese taste with a creamy component that makes it oh so addicting - no crazy spices needed, but unfortunately I didn't get that duo here. The creaminess was on point, the pasta itself wasn't too shabby (being that it was quinoa), great bites of mushroom, but the flavor of the sauce was a bit underwhelming and if you told me this was a vegan Mushroom Stroganoff, I'd believe you. I spiced it up with more salt and pepper to masked the sweetness. Overall as a whole, I did enjoy it and my body felt great after (comparing it to other vegan white sauce pastas I've had before). Chilled Nitro brew (8 oz) - (5/5) I'm not particular about my coffee, but I still thought it was pretty good. I asked for it with a splash of milk and sweetened. Served in a cute little mason jar. The service was attentive and the owner (Mike?) was very hands on and hospitable. The cafe has a very calm and inviting ambience. I'm not completely convinced that the food is worth it, being that it is on the pricier side, but it's one of those health vs flavor conundrum... at least that's for me. Haha I will be back to try out a few more items though, because I do like the people here and lifestyle they're promoting. Just not 100% convinced of the food just yet. read more
