    Spicy Garlic Edamame
    Marlene Z.

Tasty and fresh sushi. This place is small, intimate and feels comfortable. You're able to have a conversation without having to yell. Our waiter was very nice and accommodating. We started with the spicy garlic edamame. It is definitely spicy, but very delicious. I had the Alaska roll and the salmon and crab tasted fresh. Overall, this place is worth visiting and I'm looking forward to trying another roll.

Oh my goodness! This hidden gem is absolutely amazing and delicious! I don't even remember how I discovered this hidden gem but I'm so glad I did. It is located in a shopping center and you would never know it is a great place to dine whether lunch or dinner. I absolutely love everything in the menu but let me share my personal favorites. I always order the blackened tuna appetizer that is peppered sashimi style tuna with goat cheese and a delish sweet and spicy wasabi sauce . Also paired with spicy tuna hand rolls and the miss sambal roll, Kevin roll and latin roll which is fried. Service can be a little slow but the environment is super authentic and chill and the guys behind the sushi bar and very nice.

    Chirashi Sushi Combo

I came here for dinner with my girl friend on a Friday night! I had called earlier in the day to ask if I needed a reservation and the staff recommended to -- it was quick and easy to do. I'm glad I called because shortly after we were seated (~6:30pm), the restaurant started getting busy. My metric to test a restaurant's sushi is always to order their chirashi bowl if they offer it, and the chirashi at Osaka Mansun did not disappoint! The portion size is massive - the cuts of nigiri are thick and the chef gave me a great variety. Everything tasted fresh and the garnishes were lovely. I especially appreciate the inclusion of perilla leaf. I ordered another chirashi bowl to-go for my boyfriend and he loved it too! I'll definitely be taking him here in the future.

Calamari - good but overpriced $11.95
    Diana N.

Fried Calamari $11.95- kind of pricey for 7 pieces that looked like onion rings. Beef Broth Soup (Sul Loung Tang) $14.95- [Beef broth soup made from beef bones and stewing meat] - I think this is what I ordered for my 9 year old nephew. (Waitress recommended this because they don't have beef udon. My nephew wanted something beef noodle soup). Didn't expect a big bone in it, but surprisingly a large portion. Beef was pretty tender and tasty. He liked the beef but didn't care for the clear noodles. Sake Toro (salmon belly) nigiri $7.95 for 2 - good Hamachi (Yellowtail) Nigiri $7.50 for 2 - good SUSHI ROLLS: My favorites were Ken's Roll and Magu Roll. Listed in order of preference: Ken's Roll $15.95 - [Salmon, tuna, mango, avocado, green onion wrapped with soybean paper] Our favorite. Unique with the soybean paper. Slightly sweet from the mango and sauce. Magu Roll $11.95 - [Tuna delight, avocado, and cucumber with tempura flakes and sweet sauce on top] Very good, enjoyed the tempura flakes and sweet sauce on top. This was a good loaded, unhealthy roll, yum! Mother & Daughter $16.95 - [Salmon and avocado with salmon and salmon egg (ikura) on top] Very simple but very good. Comes w/ spicy Japanese mayo, which we asked for on the side since my 6 year old nephew wanted this roll. Amazing roll $14.95 - [Spicy tuna, cucumber with fresh salmon and tuna] Spicy tuna was actually a tad spicy. Typical, would try something else next time. Philadelphia roll $11.95- [Smoked salmon, cream cheese, and avocado] Your standard philly roll, would try something else next time. --------------- Pros: Tasty food, plenty of parking in the open lot. Cons: Kind of pricey ($12 for a Philly roll?), dimly lit inside, food took awhile even though it wasn't busy on a Saturday evening.

What a little gem!!! The sushi was so fresh and delicious. Small but great ambiance. There wasn't anything that wasn't delicious. They were very accommodating for any changes we wanted to make. Wine and beer available. We'll be back!

    Lunch box

Fresh food and good service. Their pricing is fair and they haven't made much changed over the past few years. Only complain is that service can be slow as they have only one server.

This place is a hidden gem! We went for my boyfriend's birthday today, and they don't take reservations but the staff was so nice to help us secure a table after knowing it's for birthday celebration! There were not many people dining in because it's Tuesday, but clearly there are transparent plastic shields between tables to make it safe. The food was really delicious. We actually got lost with so many items on the menu, and it was really hard to choose with such variety including both Korean and Japanese. The tuna tower and wagyu were really tasty and the portion size were quite reasonable. We also had veggie tempura and they were so crispy and fresh! We wanted to have some sashimi but didn't want any rolls, so we ordered chirashi and the seafood all tasted fresh! Overall we were really impressed by this place and can't wait to try their Korean entrees next time!

I ordered the chefs' choice of 9 pieces of sashimi and 5 nigiri sushi. Overall the presentation is good and the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. The fish was so-so, a few pieces weren't as fresh as My expectations, but were in no way unfresh. A pretty decent sushi joint.

Came here looking for Korean food. We want to try this Korean restaurant close by and see how good it was. I was a little disappointed by soup as the soup broth was pretty much just salt and pepper. There was no beefy flavor to it. But they do give you good amount of meat. The seafood pancake was good. I have been craving for a seafood pancake for a while and this hits the spot. Lots of seafood and good portion size pancake. Would come back to get their pancake and maybe try other Korean dishes.

By far this is the best calamari we've eaten (and we test it at every Asian restaurant). Large selection of rolls and ala carte sushi and sashimi- we filled up before the yakisoba came out. Huge serving of chicken was served with the noodles, which were prepared to order with chili paste to make them perfectly extra spicy. Unlike many restaurants, soup and salad were served with the yakisoba entree and overall this made the meal a good value. Overall we were pleasantly surprised to have leftovers and a reasonable bill. I must have driven by this restaurant whenever I was on Parmer for like 15 years ... and never got…read morearound to going in. When I finally did, I discovered one of the best Japanese restaurants in Austin. Okay ... if you are going to pay $600 for an omikase then the omikase place is better. The tasting menu at Uchi is better. But if you just want Japanese without paying a gold brick and taking out a second mortgage on your house, Miyo Yakitori and Sushi is pretty damm fine. * * * a) Japanese curry is a utility dish in most Japanese restaurants ... and when you get down to it, in most Japanese homes. It is often what you serve on "cheap" night. Airport hotels offer it as the "free dinner" for tired travellers. The curry sauce itself here is standard issue. But they serve it with a Pork Katsu the size of Williamson county. And it is a very good Pork Katsu. That Katsu was good from Liberty Hill to Thrall and from Hester's Crossing to Jarrell. b) My carnivorous partner's Fireball Udon with Shellfish blew him away. Temperature wise and aesthetic pleasure wise. He raved about how good his udon was all the way home. c) Service was instantaneous. I think there was some sort of event horizon distortion of the space time continuum that allowed them to prepare the food and then go back in time and deliver it within a minute of it being ordered. Both of us were impressed. d) The service staff was as nice as any human beings could possibly be. * * * Great food. Great service. The folks who live in the apartment complex that Miyo is in are very lucky people indeed. Either the apartments are lovely and they get Miyo on top of that. Or the apartments are terrible, but they can still spend all their time in Miyo to compensate. Seems like a fair trade. **************** If you read the other reviews, There seems to be some controversy about this establishment. Miyo has fans and Miyo has haters. * * * Here is my read on the conflicting opinions: a) Earlier in the restaurant's history - Say about 2016, 17, or 18, The restaurant was not very good at all. I think at that time it had another name. b) There was a name change and quality went up. Sometimes when this happens there is an ownership change (or there is an owner who swaps out the management and cooking team to put in new blood.) However, things got fixed, they got fixed. c) Miyo's yakitori is apparently still not where it needs to be. I am not a huge Yakitori fan. If your broiled meat on a stick is not $80 an ounce Wagyu, Or amazing organ meats grilled in the Caucasus Barded with lamb fat and with farm fresh vegetables On another skewer for serious taste contrast ... If you are not at that high level, I don't want to pay for meat on a skewer. There are people who DO like Yakitori. They do NOT like the Miyo versions of that. * * * Yakitori is less than 20% of Miyo's menu. The rest is sushi or wonderful cooked dishes. Lay off the skewer food and you can do well here.

I also checked out the appetizer menu and decided to try the curry pancake. The boxed Chicken Katsu came out piping hot. It was still a generous portion of chicken layered over rice. When I saw the side compartment, I paused for a second and thought, is that soup? Then I realized it was actually the onion, egg, and soy mixture that goes with donburi. I did not know it would be packed separately, so I was not especially careful with the container and a little of it spilled into the bag. That said, I really applaud this place for separating it. It kept the chicken katsu crispy and the rice dry and fluffy until I was ready to eat. The curry pancake was different from what I expected, but in a pleasant way. It was not filled with curry or mixed into the dough. Instead, it was a hot, crispy, flaky Asian-style pancake with a texture similar to a scallion pancake, served with a curry dipping sauce. The curry had a bold and flavorful profile. It was not thick but nor sweet as the usual Japanese curry block sauces, as I was expeecting since it is a japnese themeed place. Te curry to me tatded more indian curry stlye, a bit spicy and a strong but it had a strong savory depth. Because of the texure closer to a desn flavor croth it did not cling to the pancake as much, not like how naan would scoopt up the curry, but it still paired very well, and works nice with the katsu, too!
