We tried Osaka for the first time the other day. The service was very good and the food came out quickly. We were able to get a lot of food with the all you can eat buffet for a good price. It wasn't super fancy or high end but it was all very good for the price. We will definitely be coming back here in the future as it is close to home and overall was a good experience. I had gone once before and did not have the best experience. I thought maybe it was a fluke it wasn't . We got the same rude waiter ! We start to order our food he limited us to how much one person can order 2rolls per person apparently, we finished our first order it took him a while to come back after we finished to order more I asked for a refill on my ginger ale not once but twice and nada . When my kids asked what kind of dessert they he looked terribly annoyed when he came back with the desserts he kinda piled them in one spot on the table. The food was sub par and far from fresh. They skimped out on the amount of protein in a lot of the rolls. We ordered a Boston roll that had about 1 piece of shrimp total throughout the whole roll, and about 90% lettuce. Our waiter was blunt to the point of being rude, and started off the night by impatiently rushing us to order, despite only having about 4 tables of people across the whole restaurant. The atmosphere is really nice and clean. I like the decorations. The concept for All You Can Eat is really cool. You can order whatever you want off the menu (apps, soup, teriyaki, sushi) as many times as you want. It's a nice way to try a little of everything. I came for lunch at it was $13.95 for adults. But I have to say, I thought the sushi was sub par. It wasn't served chilled and it didn't look like the pieces of fish were cut properly...they looked torn. On the dragon roll I ordered, the white tuna on top looked almost non existent as it was not cut properly. The bbq eel was not crispy...but the sauce was good.The spring roll and dumplings were delicious. I might give this place another shot, but maybe next time for dinner. The location and physical building (and interior ambience) were fine. The service was friendly but inexperienced and somewhat rote...the 'made to order' sushi -all you can eat- for $13 was flavorful but I sincerely doubt they were made while I waited considering the first two rolls I ordered tasted IDENTICAL to each other (despite being completely separate fish species) were ready in 4-5 minutes...were both chilled and were made with fried mix that added that salty flavor...I guarantee that no one fried the mix added it to two separate fish, rolled and chilled them in 5 minutes...still it's a good place for decent-tasting, cheap sushi if you're hungry and in a hurry....personally I doubt I'll ever go back. read more

Not worth the money. The rice in the sushi's made the food inflated and watery. Poorly rolled sushi's and very thin piece of avocado and sashimi. The tempura were dry and oily inside. Miso soup hardly any tofu or algae. Definitely not authentic Japanese cuisine. read more

Horrible. I have been here a couple times before. After tonight I will not be going back. Took 25 minutes to get an order in. There were only 3 tables there other than us. The rude server then told us all to "pay attention" when she delivered our food so she could describe each item. She did not have gloves on and repeatedly kept touching our plates and food with her long fingernails each time she described a different food item. When we asked for sauce with our food, she heavily sighed and asked how many. When she returned, she dropped them on the table. Not to mention slamming our plates down on the table and not once refilling our drinks. We had also asked the server at the beginning of the meal if she would please split the check up. She again sighed and said she could but it would be a hassle for her and could we just put it on a card and give each other cash later? Really?? I have always treated servers with respect and tipped well as I was a server for years. There was no reason for her rudeness. I will also be contacting the health department regarding the long fingernails and repeatedly touching our food with them. What a waste of $142. read more

Very good cost and benefit! Don't expect the best sushi of your life but there are some delicacies hidden in the menu. Try the spicy salmon and the seaweed salad. My friends and I come here for the all you can eat lunch, and we love it. We get A LOT of sushi and most of it is really good. We like trying all the different kinds and talking about our favorites. I went here for early dinner like 2 months ago... it is all you can eat. You tell them what you want off the menu and they put it in a tablet to keep track. They give you a receipt at the end but it's all $0.00. It's fast service. The sushi is fine, not the best, but for when you want a lot of sushi and sides on more of a budget it's great. Went to this restaurant for lunch, they were not super busy. We had 3 adults and 2 children under 9 years old for which they charge by the person because it is all your can eat. The children didn't eat any sushi and they refused to take off the charge for the kids. For $9.00 per child, they ate only one dish of edamame. The sushi rolls were mediocre compared to other restaurants. Also the service was terrible. Our waitress was not helpful with deciding was sushi rolls to get because there was no descriptions on the menu. It was very slow and she forgot to bring out our soups as well as the edamame. The 18% gratuity was automatically added into our bill which in our opinion was way too much because of how bad the service was. Ugh. this has to be the worst Japanese restaurant i've ever been to! Last night I suggested trying this grand opening place to my boyfriend since I had received a take out menu in the mail. Big mistake! HUGE! Before going I wasn't sure what to expect but the menu sounded really good and had unique rolls that i'd never heard of before such as the chicken teriyaki roll. Upon entering the place has a modern clean feel..nothing too fancy though Plus I wanted to see how it compares to Mandarine. We were seated and within 3 minutes we were asked for our order. I said we are not ready and the waiter gave us this annoyed look. Might I add there were no more than 8 other people dining but okay fine.. 3 minutes later he is back. I order the salad with avocado and ginger dressing which was nothing great and the salad was not cold ( deal breaker for me with salads) i also ordered beef short ribs teriyaki. I like beef short ribs but before ordering i wanted to clarify if they were really fatty. The waiter said no. Well when i got it was like 65% fat and they were so dry! Not to mention the menu is very confusing as i thought this was a main course and it was an appetizer ( i mean don't most people consider anything teriyaki to be a meal?) My Boyfriend had the chicken terriyaki which he was expecting to be a meal and was appetizer size but he wasn't very hungry either. I asked the waiter after if it was an appetizer he said yes. Kind of annoying but moving on. I told him i cannot eat this so i ordered the chicken teriyaki roll and a side of rice. the rice was not a meal to me. the hand roll was good but nothing great. The waiter asked my boyfriend not once not twice but three times if he wanted something else to eat. Not in a concerned way but in a way that was annoying like he was mad that this is all we had ordered. It was plain OBNOXIOUS! He then said something although it wasn't clear what he was saying as his english was broken but it was clear he was mad that he didn't order enough. All in all i don't understand this place. Although I did not try all of the sushi it is still no excuse for being treated so disrespectfully ESPECIALLY from a grand opening restaurant. This place is for big eater! The price maybe seem pricey if you order little food, but if you order many, the price will be too cheap! The food is also delicious. I am a picky eater so it is not easy for me to be able to eat, but I just love the food at this restaurant. When I first come, the service is a bit lacking. They don't greet when I come. You must remember, we are in Rochester, not Manhattan so the quality of a sushi restaurant is not going to compare. For the price though you really do get your value. I try not to go when they are serving on dinner prices because I feel like I should eat more to get my value. All in all, I have never gotten sick from the food. The reason I gave it four stars was because the fish quality really could be better. And the wait staff sometimes get the order wrong. Lastly, if the restaurant is busy you can tell they are rushing and your rolls likely will fall apart or will not be very nice. Ordered $262 worth of sushi tonight at dinner including 68 pieces of sashimi that we payed $92 for (4 all you can eat dinner). The only thing that didn't taste great was the snapper sashimi but I never had it before so maybe I just am not a fan of that fish. This place is dangerous. Why? Because they'll let you order all the sushi you want without batting an eye. Even with such a high quantity of food, there is no shortage of presentation. Rolls are wrapped tightly and hold together well. Try some of their fruit rolls like the Mango and fried banana, they're like eating dessert! Avacado maki is so simple and basic but light and easy to enjoy. If you try some of the non-sushi items like chicken tempura or the udon soup, you won't be disappointed.
