My friends and I came here after a short hike and we were starving on a Thursday at 2 pm. After finding that this place serves AYCE sushi buffet for $20.95 at lunchtime, we knew we had to check it out. Upon entering, we were greeted with a cozy atmosphere. We scanned the QR code on the table and were introduced to a wide variety of hot and cold options, from hot appetizers to maki rolls, hand rolls, tempura, udon and don bowls. We chose a selection of sushi rolls, our favorite being the dragon roll with eel on top, salmon nigiri, spicy salmon nigiri, and salmon handroll (yes we love salmon.) the waitress was kind and quick to take our orders every 10-15 minutes. We ended up ordering 3 rounds of food, and she was very attentive to our table. Highly recommend coming here if you need a quick sushi fix!

AYCE sushi was phenomenal. They also have appetizers included in the menu to mix it up. You can add a la carte items as well. It was not busy for a Friday night. Ample parking in the lot. Restaurant is modern and aesthetically pleasing. Our huge order came out fast. Our server was very pleasant but there was a bit of a language barrier. She used an iPad for our orders, which I believe helps with speed of service. The squid is deep fried salt and pepper flavor. Crispy and one bite pieces. Deep fried scallops had a dollop of kewpie mayo on it. Crispy on the outside and moist inside. The Japanese eggplant was very tasty. There's an eel sauce on top of it. The skin is a bit tough but the flesh is soft and very meaty. Gyozas are deep fried and a favorite appetizer when available. Chicken teriyaki meal came with rice and a bed of sautéed Napa cabbage. Everything was cooked nicely and delicious. The eel roll with eek sauce was a favorite. Artic char roll was the number one roll for me. Crispy fried vermicelli noodles were wrapped with a rice paper summer roll wrapper and topped with artic char. The complex texture was such a pleasant party in my mouth. All other rolls were tasty but like any other sushi places. Highly recommend for sushi and can't wait to return!

I went here with my boyfriend and his family. It's AYCE so we had a variety of things. There were only a few memorable pieces like the Philly Roll, Smoked Salmon Nigiri, Teriyaki Beef, Stir Fried Udon, and Miso Soup. We didn't wait long to get seated and we were right helped right away. Rolls and Nigiri(3/5): There wasn't much flavor in the rolls as to why it wasn't as memorable for me. The simple rolls were okay for me. I liked that there was a nice ratio between filling and rice. Teriyaki Beef(3/5): The flavor was there, but it was really dry. Stir Fried Udon(4/5): I liked the flavor, but the texture of the udon was mushy. Miso Soup(3/5): I liked the miso that they used, but it lacked in tofu. Service(3/5): They weren't as attentive as I thought they'd be and they forgot a few of our orders. We had to flag them down to get our order, but they were quick at least. Overall, I don't think I'll come again if I were in the area.

A hidden gem in Rochester! All you can eat sushi, quality of food is actually very good. As good or better than Wegmans sushi. If you go at lunchtime Monday-Friday price is very reasonable at ~$21. Will visit again soon!

The place is really nice. The lighting is dim and relaxing. There are a lot of options on the menu. When ordering they allow you to order as many as you want per round which is really nice if you already know what you want and how much you can eat. The servers are quick and fast when ordering and bringing out the food so there is hardly any wait between rounds. The price is quite affordable as well.

AYCE for $32. 4 stars for Rochester, as I have been to much better AYCE, but this is probably the best you can get in the area. They do not take reservations (you come and sign in to a sheet). We came here on a Saturday evening and had about a 20-30 minute wait. I honestly had very low expectations seeing reviews, but was very pleasantly surprised. We did avoid the items that seemed to be just full of filler (no spicy tuna/salmon rolls, did not expect real "crab") and expected there to be a lot of rice in the sushi and knew the sashimi would be very small slices . Having said that, there was a pleasant amount of variety which was a good way to try many things in small portions. My favorites were all of the different types of roe/tobiko on cucumber, grilled shrimp skewer (peel on shrimp with garlic sauce), teriyaki short ribs, salmon sashimi, unagi (eel), special roll. Also enjoyed edamame, seaweed salad. Udon soup came out as a large portion and was nothing special, beef skewer was decent. As long as you know what to order, this was a decent place that I will probably come back to.

Here I ordered a few sushi rolls. The Rochester roll, Snow White roll and the California roll. It tastes so good I ordered the same thing two times! There is also stuff from the kitchen such as the beef don is my favorite item so far. I definitely recommend coming here with your family and I look forward to coming here again. It is definitely a mouthwatering restaurant.

Tuna sushi was deep fried, damp with grease and unappetizing, and the "salad" was a few soggy pieces of iceberg lettuce.

We came here on a packed Saturday night when RIT's Nova group was hosting a fundraiser, so we got discounted AYCE and we knew a portion of proceeds were going to their organization. The wait was about 50 minutes at peak dinner time, so that was fair. I was very impressed with how clean and efficient everything was, including the cart at the end of the table for used dishes. Our food came out fairly quickly as we ordered on the tablet, and it was the kind of quality you always hope to get at a sushi joint: nice sized portions, very fresh tasting, lovely presentation. I appreciated that you could also help yourself to the rotating belt options for no extra charge. The only things we paid extra for were fountain drinks, and even those included refills (or so we were told - we only had one). The staff was professional, friendly and helpful. I hope whatever issues people experienced here in the past have been resolved because it sure felt like a top tier experience at an affordable price to me! My one beef is that the menu was missing a mackerel option but I'll be back another day to see if they have it

We went on a Wednesday evening and were the only people in the restaurant for a little bit, so I would definitely recommend coming out on a week night if you can! Our server was absolutely lovely. Super attentive, even with the fact he didn't have to take our orders. Topped off our waters multiple times, made sure we were enjoying, etc. Speaking of ordering, their system is awesome!! It was super easy to browse the menu and make our selections, and we didn't have to worry about any awkwardness. Might just be a me thing, but I sometimes feel self conscious putting in a big order when I have to actually say it out loud to a person, so their phone ordering system was super helpful in making me feel more comfortable. The food was really good! On par with many other sushi places I've been in Rochester. I don't eat meat, and there were still so many veggie options for me. I especially loved the veggie dumplings and tofu skin/avocado roll. My bf loved the spicy crab onigiri and the beef skewers. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. The price seems to be slightly cheaper than other AYCE places in the area, even for dinner. We will definitely be back! As much as I miss Tap & Mallet, I was very happy with this spot!

They are known as an all you can eat place, but we got two rolls for take away instead. From what I saw when picking up, the place looks nice enough inside, but nothing special. We ordered a Dream Roll and a 2 in 1 roll. Neither were that great and the dream roll was missing the tuna and salmon it was supposed to have and they used a crab stick instead of real crab which was disappointing as well. The 2 in 1 roll was ok but nothing special. I will say that the order was ready early and they were gracious enough to included eel sauce and spicy mayo on the side as I requested, because it was not available as an add on, so I am going to assume the service is solid. Unfortunately there are too many good sushi places in town to try this place again.

I can live off raw fish for life (pretty much what I did whenever I visit Japan). In all its dim and slow service grandeur, this place has the best fish quality among all the sushi places I've been in Rochester. Located off West Henrietta right by the Millenium Games place. So, if you have the time, this place is totally worth it for the 25$ all you can eat option. It's alacarte and the sushi chef makes really really good rolls. The inside is incredibly outdated, thus this place isn't what I call a formal upscale date place to go but if your date/friend can put down sushi and can appreciate good quality sushi, then this place definitely is a 5/5 for sushi. I once watched a table of people watching a soccer game on their ipads while enjoying the meal- very chill place. My husband and I super busy and despite it's incredibly slower wait time, it's worth it. It's one dude doing all of it - frying the agadashi tofu (very good btw), fried crab leg, and rolling the sushi. 25$ for an all you can eat ala carte sushi that you can check off the list. Comes with a thousand island type of salad and a miso soup.
