My fiancé decided to try a new restaurant and heard about Osifizio. Despite the few reviews they had only that were mixed reviews we decided to try for ourselves. We had a reservation for 7pm to which we were not seated until 7:25pm. The manager, who I believe, was the owner promised we would be seated at the next available table since the rain threw them for a loop which was understandable in my opinion for a newer restaurant so that was okay but to wait almost 30 minutes and watch 2 other groups be seated before us was not okay. Our waiter was scrambling around and was not able to dedicate one second of his attention to us beside from taking our order, even then he was looking around while I was talking. When he checked on us he was running past us as he was speaking so if we needed something we didn't have an opportunity to tell him. We ordered our appetizer, we split a pizza, which I thought was just okay considering we heard they were from Italy. We then waited what I want to say was 45 minutes to an hour for our meals (gnocchi and a rigatoni special they had.) Throughout that hour waiting we became quite uncomfortable with the environment. It was visible that multiple other patrons in the restaurant were unhappy with the service. One customer was very vocal about being unhappy. The wait staff became visibly upset when hearing (what I'm assuming) was negative feedback. Another owner/manager (different than the one seating us) was scolding employees near our table in public which we could hear and what I thought inappropriate. Scold your employees no problem, but in the back not near customers. When we finally got our food, my fiancé's dish was good, piping hot, put together well and looked delicious. Mine, not so much. I purposely ordered the gnocchi because I noticed BrooklynBites had been there last month and ordered the gnocchi and it looked good in the Instagram video. My gnocchi was room temperature and the fresh mozzarella was not melted like I thought would be based on the Brooklyn Bites review. I didn't say anything about my food because at the point, I was so hungry that I just ate it. As we were paying the check, the manager who was scolding employees asked us how our meal was. I said "honestly it was okay." He asked what I had a problem with and I told him my food was room temperature and not as expected based on a previous Instagram famous food reviewer had posted about. But I couldn't even mention this because he cut me off and asked "why didn't you come tell me?" And I said "well because you were yelling at your staff near our table which made me uncomfortable." To which he decided it was appropriate to tell me why he was yelling at said staff member. At that point he asked what he could do and I said nothing. We paid the check and left. Ultimately, the food is okay. The service is terrible and extremely unorganized. The staff a little unprofessional (we also heard another waitress cursing as she walked away from being scolded by said owner.) The place was jam packed so I hope that they turn things around so they can truly succeed. I hope in 6 months I can go back and mend this review but after my visit I felt like I walked out of an episode of restaurant impossible. read more

Came here to Osfizios with my parents, waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about all menu items and specials. I got the Gnocchi sorentino, which was amazing, very delicious sauce. The manager or owner came by our table, he was super friendly with the "how ya doin" , and the "I heard the food was great here" funny and great guy. Walking into the establishment made you feel like you were walking into Sunday dinner. The staff was extremely welcoming and attentive to your needs. The ambiance was lively but you were still able to have an intimate conversation. Everything we ordered came out fresh, delicious, and hot! My friend & I came to Osfizio per a recommendation she got. Start to finish- everything was wonderful- was a nice night so we ate outside, waiter was personable & funny- sat w/ us to take our order. The food was great- ordered the Bufalina pizza as an appetizer while we waited for another friend- was delicious- sauce was tasty & crust was perfect. They were able to make me veal piccata instead of chicken- veal was tender & sauce was really good. My friend had the bolognese pasta- which is usually what I order- sauce was nice & light- not heavy & overpowering. I highly recommend this place. read more

This was one of the BEST meals I've ever eaten. We were a party of 9, (4 adults & 5 kids) ordered 2 hot antipastos, 2 aranchinis, salad, pizza, penne vodka, NY strip, 2 chicken cordon blue, shrimp scampi, & the veal special ... veal portofino. Constructive critique below. But first, I will say we are not from the Staten Island area. We live out of state so perhaps things are different in this area. We were there for lunch with relatives we haven't seen in awhile. The good things: so friendly, so accommodating. The staff was really outgoing and made my large group feel really comfortable. The ambience is lovely in a beautiful neighborhood not far from the water so location was excellent with a parking lot. The food was plentiful and pretty good; nothing tasted exceptional but the presentation was nice. Now, sadly, the hopefully helpful critique: Beware! These people will upsell and sneakily get your bill sky high with their charming 'ways'. Maybe all places there do this, we don't know. One example: my 90 y.o. father was placing his order. Most of us were half listening and talking amongst ourselves. He just wanted a steak and they ended up suggesting the 'special' to him, a steak. Done deal (he didn't ask price but, thinking, maybe $50 bucks). No! It was $125 and was enough for our whole table. We feel they took advantage of this elderly man who is sharp enough in general, but none of us would know to ask, "is this a single portion"? It fed all of us and we each had our own meals. Had he learned the bill total that night, he probably wouldn't live to see his 91st bday! Also, when ordering appetizers, we picked something and they said automatically they will bring enough for everyone. Well, I wasn't gonna eat, nor my friends so I did ask, how much is that? $15 per person (10 of us). No way! We squashed that idea. Not to mention pushing the drinks and giving high end liquor automatically to my other elderly relatives. Anyway, just be on top of things and ask prices if it matters to you. Unexpectedly wound up here for lunch and couldn't have been happier! Everything we ordered was delicious. Arancini (Rice Balls), Mozzarella in corrozza, shrimp oreganata & penne vodka. My first time dining at this restaurant and want to say what a great find this was for me! One of the owners, Mario greeted us like we were his friends and immediately felt at home. Starting off with their warm and delicious bread basked along with their roasted pepper dip was a nice touch. I ordered the gnocchi with a slightly spicey vodka sauce topped with burrata. The gnocchi was tender, light and fresh. The sauce was just right. My only comment would be that the pasta needed to be hotter in order to have the burrata begin to slightly melt. Mario came by to make sure all was going well and told me next time I should consider their signature pork chop. A little while later, Mario came by with his server to present a platter with a pork chop and all the trimmings for us to try! Wow, how generous of him to do this. And have to say, it was the most tender and delicious pork chop I've ever had !! That gracious gesture convinced me this is going to be one of my new spots to go to. This review is going to be lengthy but I promise you... you want to hear what I have to say... for the past few weeks I've driven past this place and wanted to go in but never did - until tonight. My cousin and I decided to have girls night and I'm so glad we decided to try this restaurant. Just walking into the restaurant we both had immediate good vibes... it's decorated beautifully - very different than your traditional Italian restaurant here on Staten Island. The ambience and the atmosphere is very trendy, upscale but also very warm and friendly. The color palate is great: black, red, and white. Our waiter was Genero and immediately I felt like we were sharing a meal with our funny Italian uncle. He was so warm and funny and knowledgeable about the menu. His suggestions were spot-on. He was very attentive and hospitable. If you go, and he's you're waiter - YOU ARE LUCKY! He makes the experience worthwhile. The establishment was extremely clean, organized and spacious. They were playing a beautiful mix of music that was current but also rooted in the Italian heritage. Frankie Valli was on the playlist so I was in heaven!! The most important part.... The Food .... It was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. I don't have enough adjectives in my vocabulary to describe how incredible our meal was - from start to finish every bite was delicious. The sauce was like my nanny made it and that is hard to find. Yum!! The owner Salvatore introduced himself and made us feel like we were members of his family. He never stopped smiling and making sure we were happy and taken care of. The whole experience was excellent. 1000 out of 10. I've already told 10 people that his restaurant needs to be added to their rotation. This is absolutely a hidden gem. The location is ideal and parking was so easy. I am already planning my return visit and dreaming of what other dishes I need to try. What else is there to say but BRAVO! If you want great food, delicious drinks and a terrific night out - look no further. We stayed until closing because we did not want to leave. We came here on a whim on a Wednesday night and had such a delicious meal. From the appetizer to the main course to dessert, everything was fresh, flavorful and delicious. Even though I only had a glass of wine, all their drinks looked incredible (try the pistachio shot/martini). Our server Genarro was knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. New resturant up the block from where I live. I thought to myself since I'm always seeing this place packed, wow finally a resturant near me I can walk to. In being seated. I sat outside because it was so loud and crowded inside which was fine. The wait staff were running around like crazy. Our waiter finally got to us asked us quickly what we wanted. I ordered (sangria, meatballs and pizza to share) I figured if they can get these three basic items right then it's worth coming back. While waiting for our food I noticed the resturant was very disorganized. Waiters bringing other tables food to my table. I had to turn away three different entrees. It took awhile for our food to start arriving. The meatballs were bland, as well as the pizza. Disappointed was an understatement especially for the pizza. The dough was yuck and the sauce and cheese had no taste. I cant understand how this place is jammed pack and yet the food it taste like nothing. I don't get it. The major complaint we had was we made a reservation on a Saturday night and we still had to wait over an hour for a table and nothing was said or done over an hour is way too long offer us a cocktail dessert an after dinner drink but nothing was done. I was looking forward to eating here but now I'm one and done. Dinner took 1 1/2 hours to be served. This seems to be the new norm these days but not when people seated after you were served and finished before ours arrived. That wasn't my issue. I asked if the eggplant can be grilled instead of fried. No reply until we asked again when the waiter appeared 10 minutes later. I was shouted at from across the restaurant from I will assume the manger or owner that bathing suit season is over and his eggplant is pan fried and not greasy.
