I was not in the mood for overpriced mediocre hotel food but when most places are closed and the only comfortable option available was Oshi, we came across the thought of it. My boyfriend had it awhile ago and remembers the place being fairly decent so I was happily willing to try. We tried the table side ribeye. The flavors were really flavorful. The meat was tender and juicy but $16 for 4 very tiny pieces. The Oxtail Pho had a few pieces of meat, bean sprouts, an egg and literally FOUR, ONLY 4 slurps of noodles for $23. Now it has gotten to the point where it's not about the money. I need REAL portions to fill me up. Forget about the Crispy Hamachi Roll, it was so bland that soy sauce couldn't save it. I thought it might be better off ordering the sashimi/nigiri pieces. The fish reminds me of pre-made supermarket sushi. bland and rubbery. I had mentioned this in my review of Harrahs that my friend and I really liked this place. The rolls were fresh and everything was tasty. The dumplings were amazing and came with this broth that you could eat like a soup. The edamame wasnt overly salty. We ordered a rainbow and a spicy salmon roll to split. Both rolls were really amazing and fresh, however the spicy roll was really spicy. I love sushi and I do love spice, but it was alittle much for my girlfriend to handle. They do charge a steep 5 dollars for a can of soda. This would be my only complaint. From vending in the hotel, a can was $2.75. This place is also only open on the weekend which is also a bit of a bummer. Otherwise I would have came here more than once. read more

One night during my last trip to Harrah's in AC I was starving for a tasty dinner. There is really not that much open late in this casino to eat, and I was also looking for something on the healthier side. Saw that Oshu Sushi was open late. This spot is in the space that the chocolate bar and store used to occupy. The decor is very nice with Asian accents, and we had a choice of seats as it wasn't to crowded. Had a helpful server who made a few suggestions. Went with some rolls and sashimi. Everything was tasty and prepared just right. Hit the spot for what I was craving. Food was fresh and well done. I had the spicy Dan Dan noodles and they delivered! My wife had a beef noodle dish and it was great as well. Spring rolls were some of the freshest we've ever had. Nice presentation. horrible taste. Entree was Shrimp Udon Soup ($20), Roll Eel Avocado ($12), and Roll Spider ($16). Soup was really good. Enough for 2 people. It had noodle, shrimp, and crab meat. Roll spider comes with 6 pieces and eel avocado comes with 8 pieces. Both were delicious. Went here over the weekend for my fiancee's birthday celebration. Food not that great I dont taste much flavor on the soup they are serving, place was nice and servers were great. Bad decision! Most of my friends went to get the buffet but we insisted on getting something else - something more yummy, so my friend and I chose Oshi Sushi thinking that the food will be delicious and the fish will be fresh. Unfortunately, neither was true. Yes, the ambiance is beautiful, which lured us in, but the food was completely awful and disappointing. We ordered a tuna tartar as an appetizer and 4 rolls to share. As the waiter walked out with the tuna tartar, my sister whispered to my ear hoping that it was not our order, but it was. The tuna tartar was presented in an appealing way but the color of the tuna did not look appealing. It looked like it's been sitting in the freeze for some time. The taste was surprisingly better than it looked, and we were starving. We ate it. Next were the sushi rolls: Fujiyama, spicy tuna, rock n roll, and rainbow. One of the rolls is deep fried and one consisted of deep fried shrimps. The fryer oil was old and not fresh, which made the quality of the rolls with deep fried terrible! Also, the fish were not that fresh either. We had no choice but to complain because the rolls were pretty expensive too. Surprised and embarrassed to complain (since we never do that), we mainly emphasized the poor quality of the deep fried rolls, the chef came over and we told them how the roll tasted weird and the rolls were too oily and greasy (probably because the oil was not hot enough when the ingredients were getting fried). Luckily, they took off the two rolls on the bill, which came out to be a total of about $50-60 for the other two rolls and appetizer. That's pretty expensive for good service and ambiance but very poor quality food. read more

They have various sushi rolls, sashimi and nagiri.. I ate a wonderful seaweed salad which was fresh, moist, slightly sweet. Another dish of lightly sauteed sweet peppers was a refreshing experience. The rainbow roll was good and consisted of salmon, white tuna and advocado. Stars of the meal were the White tuna nigiri, hamachi sashimi and red tuna sashimi. The large red tuna sashimi was fresh but could have been chilled more. The Hamachi was off the hook! One of my favorite sashimi, Hamachi, filled my mouth with the flavor of butter, cream and fat. I was in my HAPPY place! I was pleasantly surprised to try a new twist of White Tuna here. The nigiri white tuna was lightly seared and a semi sweet glazed drizzled on top... Once again.. I was in my HAPPY place! Wonderful customer service. Our server Linh was attentive, chatty, smiled often and very pleasant. My critique is to increase the menu size and offer soup! What kind of sushi bar doesn't have soup? I wasn't able to order Miso. Miso and Nabe would be welcome options. Kinda pricey but what do you expect in the casino. STAY AWAY...!!! The most RUDE and NOT Hospitable Restaurant today. I ordered food to take away. Their seats were empty. So, I sat down waiting for them to bring my food. Then one of their managers came to ask me to leave the seats. She would rather have the seats empty than for a customer to sit waiting for their food order. She forgot that it is the same customers who do takeout that also do reservations for dine-in, and all customers MUST be treated with DIGNITY and EQUALITY. It was a shame. Not a huge fan of sushi but I will throw back a California roll. The Master Chef made the experience for me. He gave my friend and I complimentary sashimi (just the raw fish). I was reluctant but here was very convincing. We tried two types of tuna, eel and even beef. Yes he had us try raw beef (seared by a blow torch for a second). My friend loved it I wasn't a fan. A fairly new addition to Harrahs in the last few years! I'm loving the option for sushi especially until 1am!! It changes it up from burgers. (Although I still luv my burgers there when my nights turn into morning hours) The ambiance is lovely with a great chandelier in the center. It's small but elegant so it sets an intimate setting but with a casual twist. It's decorated with Buddhist and Japanese styling fixtures. The dim lighting sets the mood and if your hungover it doesn't blind you! The bottle of water with lemon on the table is a nice touch. Plus with all the free drinks if your gambling - waterrrrr is what you need! Hints No brown rice Expansion of menu would be great Specials were good so I'd definitely be back for those! I went to Oshi over the weekend while waiting for my friends to arrive to the Harrahs Resort. Overall the experience was average. There is a sign that clearly states to wait to be seated and I stood there for a good seven minutes before the chef signaled me to take a seat and handed me a menu. The one waiter who was there complained she was ringing up a check and couldn't do everything at once. (I thought her outburst was a little unprofessional) However once she presented herself to take my order, her personality completely changed. I had two rolls which were pretty good however expect to pay premium price their food. Overall, 3 stars: the food was pretty good, nice atmosphere. Certainly, the best sushi I have eaten. The owner/head chef worked under world renowned iron chef masahara morimoto and represented the USA in a sushi competition held a few years ago. He is also the brother of the head chef who owns isazakya sushi bar located in borgata. I've eaten at izayaka, it's great, but Oshi is Excellent! Must order: crunchy spicy tuna and the rock and roll. The rock and roll is a tempura battered roll with a salmon center with crab surrounding the center. The salmon was melt in your mouth delictable. The rock and roll was so good it did not need ginger or wasabi, just a quick douse in the pool of soy and down the shoot. The Spicy tuna was kept relative minced within the roll and it was dressed with a creamy based possibly avocado dressing-like that made this outstanding. The outer crunch from the Panko like exterior perfectly complimented the creamy contents in the interior. Shrimp tempura: it was Great too but from now on my two GO-to rolls are the two above adding a third roll as a new roll to try. The service was phenomial!! My server was sweet and personable. It's average. The sushi here is really just average at best. The sushi rice is too warm to have fish on it. If my fish is now warm, your rice is obviously too hot or your fish is kept improperly. The Unagi was actually pretty good. From what I saw and had, the cooked food looked like it was much better quality. Don't waste your time here. This place has horrible service, bad organization when it comes to food orders being placed and served timely with your table. On top of that the food just isn't very good. Ordered 6 food items. Some how 2 of the 6 orders didn't make it out to my table. After I had enough and just wanted to leave, I had to ask many times for the check. It's almost like no one wanted to charge me for the bad experience. Bf and I aren't fans of Japanese food simply because he's a vegetarian and I don't like raw fish. But omg this place blew us away and we haven't stopped ever since. Their veg ramen is to die for, made with a mushroom broth and yummy veggies. Their sushi and pork dumplings are superbly mouth watering. I had the shrimp tempura sushi . While the food was good, the service was... not. It took 20 mins to get a cup for the green tea she put on the table. Main course took over an hour. My dirty dishes sat on the table the while time.
