When a customer calls in and asks you if dogs are allowed and you say yes, and that customer drives from a different town to come by and is turned downed... it's a horrible experience. I was told that dogs were allowed, we asked which location and they said it was fine to bring a dog on the patio here. We walk in and both women were not that apologetic at all. When potential customers make the trip out to visit your business and you turn them down after misleading them it's not so good for your business. This review is for the bar as I sat there and ordered no food. As far as the bar/beer pub goes, never has "Meh. I've experienced better" been so true. Simply, there are better beer pubs in Colorado. They happily let people taste beers before buying a pint. Sure, that's standard practice but still, it's a nice thing and its about OB. Weaknesses/- 1. I feel like I hung out in Shenaniganz, from the illustrious movie "Waiting", all night. 2. Ever wonder what a bro is? Look no farther than your O.B. bro-tender/bartender. 3. Beer selection is good....if this were Brooklyn. I know dive bar bartenders who are far more passionate about their alcohol than OB's bro-tenders. 4. Super busy/super crowded - glad that I didn't have to wait for a table. 5. Confusing menu - I know: small plates are hip; appetizers are classic; sides are a bbq staple. Do you realize these are all actually the exact same thing right? When your menu actually makes it harder for people to order your classic dishes, you are doing it wrong. Particularly when you are talking about drunk people ordering food. 6. Can a girl get a refill on a water glass? I know it's tough to refill water when I'm seated at the bar. You have to take the class all the way over to...the bar but seriously. Thank god, I finally asked the bar back to refill it and he was able to keep up. I'm no restaurant snob. This place was the shit! I got a cajun catfish sandwich that was full of flavor with fries and a side of mac and cheese. I left the joint stuffed to the gills (pardon the pun). The beer was great and even on a busy night, the service was amazing. We were a table of many demands and the waitress helped us in good time. So this was a beerless brewery trip...I know right? What were we thinking, but, I must say, the food earned them 4 stars. Which doesn't always happen with a brewery because their beer is their true gifting. However, I must say this was a delicious meal. I tried the "there's a hippie in my house" sandwich with asparagus while my partner got the curry chicken and sandwich and sausage/cabbage soup. I have to say- my meal was better than hers. While her soup was AWESOME the sandwich was placed on a cheap, oversized hamburger bun. I think because it was on the lunch menu, but, it should've been on some French bread or something because the extra bun soaked up all the cole slaw juices and it was nasty. my fiance and I went here with another couple for lunch and it's a shame .... the stars could have been increased to 4 if there weren't flies ALL. OVER. OUR. TABLE. I don't know if it was just our table and we were wearing or eating something that attracted them but I don't care, I use the same shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, hair gel, perfume, etc and I don't always have flies circling my head. It literally was so distracting that I stopped listening to the conversation and I was just getting furious at the amount of flies landing in our food and having to block them from falling or getting knocked into my drink. Found Oskar Blues when trying to find a meeting spot halfway between Evergreen and Fort Collins. The food was good - very large serving sizes - and we had a great waitress. It's loud in there but that is expected with the environment as it's very large and was full. Because I was driving I was unable to sample any of their great beers - which is a primary reason to go here for most. Overall a good dining experience. read more

Biggest hush puppies in the entire world and that would usually be a good thing but long john silvers makes a better pup and these were the density of glue and spackle. The server did not know what A1 was and further stated he didn't think they had any steak sauce. He never returned to confirm. What a train wreck of an experience. Been going here for years. Big fan of the Lyons location. Probably just keep going to that one, because for me the overall experience is just better, nicer vibe. Way too much hype around this new place, glad I didn't wait long because it was not worth it. Tried to get in at 5pm on Saturday and there was a 1 hour wait. C-ya. Went again yesterday and got seated right away. Food was so-so. Beer is the redeeming factor and was impressed to see Abita Amber on tap as well as a nice selection across the board. More appetizer selections than Lyons which is nice and happy hour half price apps may be a good time to explore if you can get in the door. Lived in NOLA for many years and have never been impressed with OB's attempts to do the traditional creole dishes...had a po'boy yesterday that was just not that good. What's with the soft mushy french bread folks? Another curiousity is the strange contemporary dishware. Just does not fit the brew pub environment. Must have got some deal on it. Frankly it just looks goofy...my wife ordered the same burger she normally does in Lyons and it looked all alone on that big ole plate. Our sense was that we got more in the Lyons location. Will try again to check out the BBQ since I wasn't in the mood y-day. But overall food and presentation gets a thumbs down, service was good, atmosphere was nice and the beer is always great. read more

It was hard to give this place 3 stars based off the food but we should have realized it's a bar, not really a restaurant. The live music is fun and they have a good beer selection so come for music and drinks, maybe an app. Not dinner. The catfish bites app was delicious! Best thing we tried. Seafood gumbo was super bland and hardly had any seafood. The triple lindy was disappointing. Wings, ribs, pork, were not great, bbq sauce was not tasty. Frech fries were soggy. Been here more times than I care to count. I've tried a different beer every time and don't feel like I've even began to scratch the surface. Good brews and good food (never had a bad meal). I do wish they wouldn't have gotten rid of their family jowls appetizer though. It was the best! Burgers are great. Almost every dish they have there (besides their salads) is tummy lead and/or comfort food. Chicken & Waffles are the bomb! They have this breakfast dish on Sunday... I can't remember the name of it but it is SO good. It is biscuits and gravy topped with cheesy grits, two fried eggs and fried chicken. Wow! So good! My partner and I genuinely had one of the most disappointing dining experiences of our lives here last week. In short: the food was awful, and the staff clearly does not care. We love Oskar Blues beers, supporting local businesses, and the restaurant space itself is full of endearing bluegrass & beer kitsch... But everything that followed was terrible. Despite being a slow afternoon, our server forgot to place our order, yet all of the staff had time to chat in a group while they ignored us. Being very hungry, we asked for the fried pickle appetizer to come out first. When we received our food from someone who was not our server nearly half an hour later - during which time we saw one of the cooks come out of the kitchen to watch the soccer game - every item was its own kind of terrible. The pickles had been roughly cut into giant spears, which did not fry evenly and were awkward to eat, and the breading was bland and dark brown after being over-cooked. The Black & Blues Burger with a black bean patty was not "blackened," but rather had a disgusting blob of blue cheese butter slapped on top of a plain bean patty. The Pig Pickin' BBQ Pork was extremely boring and a bit dry on an unexceptional bun that I might have expected from a grocery stole deli at half the price. Neither my partner nor I could bring ourselves to eat the regular or sweet potato fries on our plates, which were all stone cold and limp with fry oil when we got them. I ordered a side salad and got a huge plate of old greens speckled with a few cherry tomatoes. By the time our server came back to us to apologize for the wait on those pickles and asked if we wanted another round of beer, we were eager to run away and never look back. As if we hadn't suffered enough, both of us were sick later. I'll still buy Oskar Blues beer. But if I want a brewpub in this part of town, I'll definitely go to Avery. read more

Of course I moved out of Longtucky so now its a short hike to get here, but when I get a chance I love going here. I love the great selection of OB and other beers. Stopped here on the way home from Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park yesterday. Was hoping to sit on the patio but they were having some kind of outdoor fest in the back, so we had to eat inside. I have to say, this place does remind me of a steakhouse chain or something....I felt like we'd stepped into a Texas Roadhouse or classier Red Robin, which was kind of disappointing. With all the cute brewery/restaurants around, it seemed odd it looked so generic. All of that aside, the food was really good. I got the pulled pork, cheddar grits, and fries (sorry, heart). The pulled pork BBQ sauce was great- sweet and tangy. A bite of my boyfriend's mac and cheese had me wishing I had ordered that (which seems to be an on-going theme)....The broccoli on his plate was probably the best broccoli I've ever tasted. However, if you were opting for a healthy choice, it hardly falls in that category as it tasted like it had been cooked in bacon grease. There was something nutty in there too, like some garlic chunks or something delicious. Sigh. I should have gotten that. But there's always next time. Service was quick and friendly. Beer draft selection was great. They had Deviant Dale's (their double IPA) which is always delicious and hard to find on tap. The service was certainly well above average, wait staff was friendly, the wait time for our meals was not too long after ordering, though it was extremely busy because it was a Friday afternoon, not to mention lunchtime. Liked Oskar Blues. Met up with some friends to drink and eat on a Friday night and really enjoyed myself. I had their wheat beer (can't remember the name) and it was tasty. For dinner, their nacho appetizer caught my eye and I'm glad it did. It was yummy. So much so that other people were eating them too (hey wait... that's MY dinner). The Friday night I went a live band was playing upstairs. Although I didn't see them, they sounded great downstairs. I think what makes this location is the ambiance - it's spot on. This place is great if all you're looking for is beer. They have a wide variety and all of the local drafts I tried were delicious. For dinner I had the Bart's Trustafarian burger on the veggie boca burger. While all the components were good the burger itself was dry and the bun was nothing special. I traded my fries for a side salad and I just wasn't feeling the lemon vinaigrette dressing. My friend had the winter endive salad which was phenomenal and I wish I had ordered that. read more

Had a wonderful experience! My fiancee and I went there in September while in CO on vacation. I found this place in an Internet search for spicy food challenges. I did the 2lb ghost chili wing challenge, while my fiancee had the BBQ pork sandwich with mac & cheese. The service was awesome! All the servers were chanting and rooting for me while the clocked ran down during my challenge. After successfully completing my food challenge, the chef came out and shook my hand and gave me a free tee shirt, comped my meal and thanked me for coming! Meanwhile my fiancee thoroughly enjoyed her sandwich and mac & cheese. The staff were all friendly and the prices were all reasonable. We both had a great experience and would love to go back some day! read more

If I could give them negative stars, I would. We called at 3:30pm on a Saturday afternoon to give them a heads up we would have 15 people in our party for later in the day. Apparently, giving a courtesy call ahead of time was frowned upon. Wendy, the manager, told us that we would have to order off of a limited menu considering our party size. The "limited menu" consisted of 4 different food items. Ummmm, what is the purpose of that? It's not like we had 50 people in our party. We thought maybe we should just show up and ask for a table of 15 or we could even take 2 tables and split up. I wonder if they'd still put us on a limited menu then?! For such a large restaurant, you would think they could get creative and try to accommodate us. We'll take our business elsewhere. read more

This was a business trip, so we needed a large table to lay out our computers...what better place than a table stained with jambalaya juice, cocktails, brew and god knows what else...it was an excellent place for lunch. Jambalaya for me and it was terrific. Up to New Orleans standards....well sort of. Two very solid beers and my power point ROI presentation was starting to look good (Old Chub and red IPA). Pull'd pork was also mighty mighty good. Glad we stopped by, did some work, pig'd out, brew'd out and enjoyed the myriad of blues photos on the walls before meeting with customers. read more

A group of friends and I visited here the day after a wedding and a little hair of the dog by way of Oskar Blues brews helped us all feel a lot better!
