I spotted this place while driving in the area. I ordered from their Winter menu, a White Chocolate Huckleberry that consist of white chocolate, huckleberry, and Scandinavian candy. It was a nice blend and I loved the foam artwork they added. The minimalistic design compliments this place just well, plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Not sure about their coffee quality , I been there to try another store but I also stopped by Oslo coffee and got myself a cappuccino even with whole milk it was extremely bitter and hard to drink. This instant my wife and I walked in the door we felt unwelcome. There was no line and place was pretty empty but we were ignored for awhile. When someone finally walked over the employee working the register and making drinks had a miserable attitude that made me want to leave. They probably would have been happy if we did leave since they obviously hate working there. Everything out of their mouth and body language was misery no matter how nice we tried to be. Even when complimenting our drinks and food on the way out we got a scowl and a "uh.. ok" reply. Every empty table was dirty covered in crumbs and spills. We had to clean the table and customers after us were doing the same. Drinks though were 5 stars. They may hate life but that didn't prevent them from making a fantastic drink. The autumn special "sweater weather" was one of the best Chai flavored drink I have had and the spices were strong. The Autumn Harvest was also delicious. The beautiful clay mugs made it even better. Also tried the brown cheese toast with strawberry preserves which was wonderful. The cheese had almost a caramel flavor. Some of the staff did have the ability to use their smile skills but they were overshadowed by the scowling coworker. Maybe something happened earlier in the day to ruin their day so I will give them another shot when I am in the area again. The drinks and food were enough to bring me back but I cannot give more than 2 stars with such a miserable attitude. read more

Line was just passed the door. Took about 10 minutes to get to the front. I came in for beans to take home. The beans on the shelves had no roast date, no description of roast level, and no price. After I got to the register I found out it was $23 for 10 oz of beans! That is crazy. I felt the lack of information on the beans made it worse and felt deceived. Coffee did taste good at home! Oslo coffee is located in a strip mall with a decent amount of parking available outside. The cafe is pretty spacious inside with ample seating both inside and outside. They have a good variety of food options as well as drink options. The staff recommended the Scandinavian latte which they mentioned was their top seller, which is a cardamom latte with a star anise. They had reassured me the star anise was just for decoration however I did feel like the flavor affected the drink. I do enjoy cardamom buns here and there but I felt the cardamom flavor on this drink was just way too overpowering. First matcha I got here was very very oat milky, but decided to try again and I loved it! Got a hot matcha with oat milk + some vanilla and salt. Sooo good. So cozy and I would recommend drinking it there! They give you cute mugs that definitely add to experience. They don't upcharge for milk and even though it came out to about an $8 matcha, I think it lived up to the price and was quite justified (which is hard to do!). 10/10 would go back and order the same thing or try something new. read more

So many generic bland places in Orange County, I'm so glad this place is here. It's a funky place if you like that and we do. Staff reminds me of Melrose in 2008, trucker hats, ironic, tattoos, I'm just waiting for the arcade fire shirt to pop up. The staff is super friendly, especially with kids, which is a bonus. I've come here about 15 times and tried about everything on the menu and it's all amazing. I can tell by the lack food photos on here that breakfast is definitely overlooked. Had visited once before but had to bring back my wife and friend to check it out. The vibes, marketing, aesthetic of this place are on point. I love their merchandise and the array of other goods they sell (cutest tote bags, ceramics, and I've seen they sometimes stock the sour gummies from Malmö on their Instagram)! Their Scandinavian latte is very well balanced, not overly sweet. If you get your latte hot it will come in one of their gorgeous ceramic mugs. They were out of cardamom buns this morning so I opted for the kanelsnurrer- pastries are a bit pricey but I know they're baked fresh from a local Swedish baker, which is neat. The focaccia egg sandwich was really good, would recommend. Definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

I found Oslo coffee when I was waiting for my hair appointment in the same shopping center. I was attracted to the name at first because my husband is Scandinavian. I tried the Scandinavian Latte. It was VERY cardamom forward, if you don't like the taste of cardamom, don't get this one. I waited almost 15 mins for just a coffee. It wasn't that busy, I only had 2 people in front of me. It's a very small coffee shop with a few seats, big coffee counter and bar to pick up your drinks. I will give this place 1 more shot. read more

I was in the area and decided to give Oslo Coffee a try. Matcha Latte: 3/5 I got the iced matcha latte with oat milk and vanilla syrup. The default is unsweetened. I like how this cafe provides a milk substitution without a charge. However, I didn't think the drink had a bold matcha flavor. Also my drink was barely sweetened with vanilla. Their cups are cute though. Service: 4/5 I thought the baristas were friendly. Since it was clearly my first time I wish the baristas offered fixing my drink in the case I didn't like it or needed any adjustments. But since there was a line I think they busy and trying to speed through the order. Quality should be over quantity. If there is a long line, giving customers an approximate wait time would also be greatly appreciated. Ambiance: 4/5 The interior was pretty with the bright decorations, merchandise table, and self serve bar. There are even board games which is a big plus! The plants and lighting made the cafe aesthetic. However, if the line builds up it wraps in the store. This causes chairs, tables, and the front door to be blocked off which is a downside. Plenty of free parking outside. Overall: The cafe was clean and cute! The matcha wasn't the best or worse I've had though. read more

Yelp friend Les S. brought my attention to this place when he made multiple trips from north OC all the way to south OC to visit it so I figured it must be pretty darn good. I had no excuse not to check it out since I'm just a couple miles away. This Scandinavian themed coffee cafe is located in a small plaza and has several indoor tables as well as a few outside on the walkway. I liked the relaxed vibe inside and the exceptionally friendly staff. I visited shortly after they opened on a weekday morning. It was quiet when I arrived until about 8am when suddenly there was a line out the door! Seems like a popular place for locals to grab some coffee on the way to work. I ordered a hot espresso drink from the Scandinavian portion of their drink menu: the Folklore Flat White. Ingredients for this espresso drink include "housemade rosemary and raw wild flower honey". They had a vast pastry selection so I also got a cinnamon roll (their pastries are outsourced). There are a number of Scandinavian food items on the menu but, even though half my heritage is Norwegian and Swedish, that cinnamon roll is what called to me. I had a seat inside and my cinnamon roll was brought to my table. It was delicious; buttery and cinnamonny with a sweet frosting. The flat white was interesting. It was strong with a hint of rosemary but more on the bitter side; the flower honey didn't sweeten it much if at all. With that said, I did enjoy it immensely. I also got an iced vanilla latte to drink on the way home. It was smooth and had a vibrant vanilla flavor. This was a top notch vanilla latte. Having a flat white with a latte chaser kept me abuzz for the day. read more

Love it!!! I wish this place was closer to home so I can come on a regular basis. This is one of those places I'm willing to drive out of my way for. I've never even been to Ladera Ranch but was willing to take the drive just to try this place. This is a Scandinavian (more specifically Norwegian) themed coffee shop, which I haven't seen before, even in Solvang. Sticking with its Scandinavian inspired items, I tried Lefse, The Scandinavian, and Viking Tonic. Lefse is a Norwegian potato flatbread, based on the description on the menu, but I thought it tasted and felt more like a rolled up crepe. It was served with cinnamon sugar butter on the side. Fairly simple item, but I thought it tasted fantastic. It tasted great with The Scandinavian, which is a latte style drink with cardamom, Icelandic lava salt, star anise, and espresso. Really loved this drink. There was enough sweetness to balance out some of the more savory elements in this drink. I initially tasted cardamom, then star anise kicked in shortly after. Little bit of the lava salt balanced out everything at the end. I had high hopes for Viking Tonic but wasn't as good as I expected. It's an espresso tonic made with ginger, Topo Chico, elderflower water, and orange peel. I like all those ingredients, but tasted little too herbal in combination. It had little more of a salty aftertaste instead of sweetness, which is how most other espresso tonics taste. Service was kind of slow but was fairly busy when I was here. Weird thing is I got my food before the drinks came out. I was almost done with my Lefse by the time my drinks came out. I do like that this place has flat dollar amounts for tip suggestion ($1, $2, $3) rather than percentage of total transaction amount. read more

I stumbled upon this place since I wanted to try a new coffee shop before work. The interior is so aesthetically pleasing. The cashier who helped me out was friendly and had a smile on her face. It did get busy right after I ordered and there's plenty of seating inside and there's a few tables outside as well Drink/Food: - Midsummer Latte ($6): I'm very picky with my matcha latte but this has the be one of the best matcha latte I've had in a while. You can taste the vanilla and lavender flavor that comes with it. The matcha was a nice matcha color and the flowers in the drink made it even better. - Burrata Cheese and Peach ($13): Burrata cheese with peach on top of a bed of arugula and toast. The balsamic glazed was a great addition. I'm impressed with the amount of burrata that came with it. It was a yummy breakfast. Took the trek to Oslo since seeing it over social media. Cute shop with plenty of parking . First thing I saw was house made syrups . So I was super excited to try . I did not try the food but a lot of people ordered breakfast . Got two lattes. Vanilla with cold foam . I had to have them add extra syrup . Once I did . It was very good . I often like to get a cup of tea and enjoy a morning walk on my first conference call of the day; Oslo will be my new spot for getting my tea. I arrived for the soft opening today (Friday, May 17) around 10:30 a.m. The queue was well out the door, but for its length, it moved decently. I had a few questions about the tea, which Lauren from the team was able to advise about. I've included a photo of the tea menu, as they aren't "traditional" teas with which you might be familiar. In addition to my tea, I ordered the bread with the fresh berry and almond spread. (It was a little on the sweet side for me personally, but if you like sweets -- you'll love this.) When I tell you this was easily the best coffee I've ever had, I mean it! The Scandinavian Latte was actually to die for - SO creamy and perfectly made. The baristas here are true baristas, you can tell they really know how to craft a true coffee. Even the mug my drink came in was super cute and really topped off my experience! The vibe is fun and aesthetic, it's a perfect spot for catching up with friends, working, or reading a book. Heads up - it does take a bit of time to get your coffee, but honestly, it's probably everything is made to perfection, so it's totally worth it in my opinion.
