if you know me, i rarely give out 5 stars to restaurants, but this place definitely deserves it. this wasn't on our radar, but after checking out the Plaza District for the numerous murals, we wanted to get something to eat and found this place on yelp. When we walked in it was fairly empty, and we thought to ourselves, is that a good thing where a restaurant is fairly empty on a Sunday night before Memorial day? Good thing it didn't deter us. everything we got was delicious. cacio e pepe, eggplant parmesan, stuffed mushrooms, and kids mac n cheese. Before they brought out the food, they brought out a small garlic herb bread. The kicker, was that we found out that kids eat free on sundays, and that was the cherry on top. Our son's mac n cheese, was surprisingly good... i thought it was going to be simple yellow cheese, but it was the same cheese/sauce that came with the cacio e pepe. they also offered my son a free small ice cream.... talk about great customer service. Service is great and attentive. They have full service bar in the front. While there is a free parking spot nearby, it was very crowded as it shared parking with other stores. So it moved. We decided to give it another shot. I wanted to like it so much because I loved when Fabio was on Top Chef. But none of the restaurants they own here are anything but Top WAY Overly Peppered. You can't taste anything hardly except just way too much black pepper. I had the linguine and could hardly eat it due to it being so over peppered. It had such potential and without all that would have been good I think. My husband had the salmon. He said it was good but the spice caught up with him and he practically drinks hot sauce so that was surprising. My MIL said the eggplant parm was good. My FIL liked his lasagna. They hated the Caesar, it tasted like pure lemon, would be nice to be warned on the menu it is so lemony. Our waiter was lovely and accommodating and I liked Teagin a lot. But the hostess was horrible. They had the music so loud we could barely hear each other to have a conversation. We asked our waiter to turn it down and he did and she went right over and turned it back up even louder. She kept coming to our table for really no reason and kept interrupting our conversation, it was just rude. She kept going to other tables and talking so loudly to be heard over the music she insisted on blasting like she thought we were having a house party that we couldn't hear each other over her screaming. I thought this was going to be a nice Italian place that was relaxing and could enjoy a meal. Nope. Additionally for what I thought was an upscale restaurant, the hostess was not presented appropriately and just made it unenjoyable. read more

A rebrand has never been more disappointing... This new iteration of Osteria feels like a step backward. It feels like a shallow attempt to compete with the new wave of Italian restaurants in OKC. Clam Linguine was so disappointing, seafood quality was not up -to-par. The gnocchi was unappealing visually and very flat. However the crispy potato jackets were a knock out. 10/10 would order again. read more

My monthly Book Club chose this place for November and talk about a delicious choice As a group we shared the Fried Mozzarella and it was absolutely amazing! For main meals, I had the Cacio E Pepe and added Shrimp and it was one of the best that I've ever had! Another girl friend had the Lasagna, and the other two shared the Salmon Siciliano. None of us left a crumb on our plates... we were truly taken away with how yummy everything was! When our waitress came by to ask about dessert, we couldn't help but say no! We tried Osteria for the first time this past weekend. It wasn't crowded at all and we were immediately sat for our party of 6 (being 4 adults and 2 kids). The place is super clean and has a cozy feel to it. Nice decor but also quite small. I can see it being an issue for wait times on busier nights. We received complimentary bread for the table to share. Olive oil and balsamic on the table for dipping, super good! Bread was fresh and yummy. The mozzarella sticks were decent, hard to mess up a cheese stick for sure. 8/10 The chicken parm sandwich was more of a pesto chicken sandwich as the pesto was very over powering. Generic restaurant fries and nothing special 4/10. Lasagna was decent. 6.5/10 Overall, we had a good experience and our kids enjoyed seeing Santa. We'll be back one day I'm sure. read more

So our server was great and knew just the right time to stop by and say hey. We sat outside and it was perfect and it wasn't crazy busy on a Wednesday night so that was even better. The potatoe apps were flipping great so star with those and try the white sauce on top! The wife nabbed the salmon caeser and I love it when you get a big piece of fish. Those other ado those skimpy ones and I always love it when you get a real portion and not an appetizer size. I nabbed the lasagna and it was great! Totally loved it and the sauce wasn't too heavy and the layers were great. Sausage had a little spice to it but was just the right amount and I don't like spicy. Exquisite Italian restaurant, an OKC mainstay or landmark that moved from Nichols Hills. Their linguine with clams and lemon sauce is wonderful. Amazing interior decor with a lot of cool paintings - very stylish Italian vibe as well. Their bread is also amazing. Wide selection or assortment of beverages including iced tea, Arnold Palmers and Italian sodas flavored in maple and vanilla crème (with real cream) varieties. Their stuffed mushroom appetizers are also incredible but very hot (temperature wise) so make sure to wait for them to cool off a bit before eating. First time at osteria and it was pretty underwhelming. The restaurant decor is great and perfect for a get together with a friends or a date. Our server and the hostesses were extremely attentive. First we started off with cocktails, most on the menu were pretty basic and for the price I thought anything $14+ for a standard cocktail is too pricey. We ordered the mushroom appetizer and it was decent, not bad at all, and had arugula in the middle. The house baked bread was pretty hard and I was expecting it to be warmer, toasted? Flavorful. It was disappointing in terms of complimentary bread. The gnocchi I ordered was freshly made but the sauce was so extremely bland, I wouldn't recommend this dish. The chicken I topped it with wasn't tender, it was tough. Left my meal a bit disappointed, especially because this place is pricey! read more

WOW. Went here on my brothers recommendation and this place was so good. It's a small Italian diner style restaurant with classic dishes that were portioned properly. I was really excited to try the new location. We absolutely loved the old spot in Nichols Hills. We stoped by for an after drink, and the bartender acted as though we were an inconvenience. The few interactions we had with him were short and non-engaging. The bar's inventory for cocktails was also embarrassing. Pre-made espresso martini in a bottle, an off-brand Limoncello, and random brands of liquor throughout the rest of the bar. I asked for a lemon drop martini with a little Limoncello in it. He took the off-brand Limoncello and just shook that and strained it into a glass. No other ingredients. While looking for garnishes he seemed frustrated and put out. I love supporting local restaurants, but after this interaction and experience, I most likely won't go back. read more

We love going to the Plaza and were excited about trying Osteria's menu. The ambiance was nice, it was clean and welcoming. However, the food was not what we expected it to be. We ordered the roasted beets salad and the truffle mushroom gnocchi. The beets did not taste fresh and had a "canned food" feel. The truffle mushroom gnocchi..the sauce itself didn't have any taste and the gnocchi had a very mushy texture. Perhaps it was just a miss today..only time will tell. I am giving it a 3 and not anything lesser because the bartender and manager were very kind and polite. read more

Wife and I had Valentine's Day dinner here about a week after they re-opened. Loved the shortened menu, ambiance, and new location of the place. Nicole was our server/hostess and she did a phenomenal job on a very busy evening. The food was great but lacked salt on nearly every dish (tiramisu excluded). I'll start with the good: we went on a busy Sunday evening and the waiter checked on us regularly. Now for everything else. We got the calamari which came in a small bowl and had an odd balsamic sauce all over it. My husband got the ribeye which was more like a chicken fried steak. My mother got the eggplant parmesan which was okay but overpriced like the rest of the menu. I got the linguini with clams, but they were out of clams so I got shrimp. It was overly fatty and peppery. My mom got a Manhattan which is her favorite cocktail and she said it was the worst Manhattan she ever had. read more

The food here was WONDERFUL, but I have never sweat so much trying to eat at a nice restaurant. We got the potato jackets which were crunchy and delicious, and the cucumbers with hot sauce and blue cheese. So unique and delicious. I got the Milanese and it was massive. The server suggested adding the mushroom sauce to dip into, which was delicious, but I wish we had been informed it would be an extra cost. When we walked in, we noticed how humid and yucky the restaurant felt. I let it go, because it is terribly hot outside and sometimes it feels icky walking in to any place while you cool off. When we were sat, I noticed fans around most areas and it dawned on me that the AC was probably off/broken/etc. I was sweaty, but again, I tried not to let it bother me. More people started arriving, and it started getting warmer. We began sweating more and once our hot food arrived, we decided to wrap up quickly and leave. I kept patting my face from the sweat and I had sweat literally down my legs. Some seats had fans directly at their tables, ours didn't. The server was really nice and honestly I felt bad they had to work in these conditions. It was incredibly uncomfortable in there and I rather the restaurant have closed than still be welcoming guests because we felt pretty miserable. read more

The first time my fiancé and I went to Osteria, both the service and food was incredible especially the Chicken Parm. But this evening we stopped in for a date night and I don't know if you changed foodservice providers or what but it was one of the worst meals I've personally had in a while. The side of three meatballs tasted like Stouffer's, his chicken parm breast was full of muscle so you couldn't chew it and the cheese on top just coagulated. And then my tomato & burrata salad... maybe it was too much balsamic vinaigrette or the tomatoes were sweetened but it tasted like salty sweet tomatoes. And the mozz sticks were somehow mushy on the inside with no cheese pull but perfectly crunchy and buttery on the crust. Wild. I will say that Irene saved the overall experience with her charm and great customer service though. I hope that this place brings back the top quality ingredients it used to have so that the food matches the vibe and service. But until then, it'll stay in my memory of one of the worst meals I've had in the last 5 years. read more

Came for opening night, by mistake. Was wandering around the plaza and hopped in. The atmosphere is laid back but still warm. The menu isn't big- which is nice. My group share the potato app. Normally I don't like potato skins but these are actually good. Between our party we had the Italian sandwich, eggplant parm and veal Marsala. Nothing to really complain about but nothing really special. For desert we shared a tiramisu. I don't like deserts that much but since it was raved about from our server I haven't a nibble. It's was sooooo dry and just unpleasant. They didn't like it, so it sat at the table uneaten. The service wasn't too bad. Again it had just opened so I'm sure the kinks will work out. I've been wanting to try this place since I saw it on Channel 9. I saw that they had linguini with clam sauce. I love a good linguini with clam sauce and I am always looking for a good linguini with clam sauce in Oklahoma City area. I was in the area so I stopped in for dinner. Of course I had the linguine with clam sauce, an arugula salad and some bread. Let's start with the arugula salad. It was outstanding! The combination of green apples, tomatoes, onions, arugula and the house dressing were amazing! Now the linguini. I found it to be bland, pasta overcooked and dry. Yes dry. It needed more sauce. As for it being bland. I think it could have used more seafood flavor and a few of the clams did not open when cooked and were served with my pasta. The wait staff was excellent! Very polite and attentive. Thank you! Overall grade a "C". Great salad and wait staff. Average linguini with calm sauce. I will make a return trip and maybe try something different next time. Finally got to check out Osteria at the plaza district after they moved out of Nichols Hills. I still prefer the NH location & its old menu. The calamari was a little different here from the usual calamari but it was crispy & tender. I feel like the bread was not baked thoroughly. No crust on the outside of the bread. My clam linguini was good with its al dente pasta but there were not too many clams & it was very greasy as seen on my picture after I finished my plate. Finally tried this place after what several years and woah this is good Italian food! My meal was so fresh and just delicious. It wasn't heavy or greasy and didn't leave me walking out feeling overly stuffed and miserable like most Italian restaurants do. I opted for the shrimp linguine i believe it was green pasta which kind of threw me off but dang it was good and i ate every last bite my plate had! The bread was okay nothing to rave about. Everyone else loved their dishes and finished them with no issues except our friend who had the pizza it's large so plan on having leftovers! I had gimlets to drink at the bar and they are delicious! Our waitress always kept checking on us and never had any problems with service! It's definitely a more relaxed atmosphere in here i had always thought it would be more of a formal vibe but way more relaxed and so many people that came in just sat at the bar rather than a tabletop. Discovered this place from a feature that came across my Yelp feed. I'm very glad to receive these suggestions as this was a winner, winner, chicken dinner!! I wish I could remember our server's name but he was terrific. I'm a little picky about my whiskey and he took me to the bar where I discussed choices with a knowledgeable bar tender. He also helped us with appetizer choices and warned me that my entree selection was spicy. It's not a huge restaurant so I would suggest a reservation. I called them directly but then received a Resy confirmation. I had forgotten about using this app but it was dormant on my phone and I checked out some places that don't appear on Open Table. The food was described by the waiter as rustic Italian and said that all the pasta was made in house. It was outstanding. There is a large bar with lots of choices and I tried a new whiskey. The wine list seems largely dominated by Italian wines although I'm not saying that's a bad thing. There's a big pizza oven so there's a pizza in my future. To start we ordered the Crispy Potato Jackets. OMG, they were delicious and there was enough for our table of five. They were delivered with an aioli that tasted a lot like mayonnaise to me. It wasn't a real winner with any of the other diners at the table. We also ordered the house baked bread and olive oil. It was okay, not great - a little dry for my taste. It was disappointing that they charge for the bread. The oil wasn't dipping quality for my taste but I was the only one who didn't care for it. All of the entrees were very good. I had the Spicy Rigatoni Arrabiata which was well seasoned. I was warned that it was spicy but I didn't find it to be too much. My husband thought it was too spicy for him. It includes meatballs that are well seasoned. All of the heat is in the sauce. I thought the rigatoni could've spent a little more time cooking but that's being pretty picky. My husband had the Spinach Linguini with Shrimp. The linguini was cooked to perfection. He wouldn't share a shrimp but said they were delicious. Two at our table got the Braised Short Rib. It was hand's down the best plate on our table. They served a huge piece of meat on a very nice risotto, very creamy and well done. The meat was flavorful, juicy and tender. I can recommend this dish unreservedly. The final guest chose the salmon which was the fish of the day. It was served with his chosen side of broccoli raab and a lot of it. He said the salmon was cooked to perfection which is very hard to do at home and I can't imagine how they do it in a restaurant setting. There was no room for dessert but the choices were tempting. Go hungry and request a "to-go" box for your entree so that you have room for dessert; that's my plan for our return visit. I received two texts after we left the restaurant saying it was a great spot and they would return next Saturday night if I wanted. I don't think you can beat that kind of praise. read more

Osteria has become me and my girlfriend's favorite spot for a reason. The vibe is perfect, cozy, romantic, and somehow feels like you've been transported out of Oklahoma. The food is always incredible, and Anissa takes amazing care of us every time we come in. She makes the experience feel personal, and you can tell she truly cares about her guests.
