She was cheerful and a delight to speak with, and never missed a chance to share her smile. The food was exquisite--I'm finishing my bolognese for breakfast right now because we chatted too much at dinner. The ambience was clean and welcoming. Not too loud at all. Risotto arancini was on point. Panna cotta was the least impressive of our meal and I would still give 7/10 score. We were limited to gluten free options which were available. The limoncello spritz is one of my favorite cocktails anywhere, and the prosciutto appetizer is a must-order. I've gone back specifically craving both. Everything I've had has been delicious, but those two items keep me coming back. I also love the decor and overall vibe. It's stylish and inviting without feeling stuffy, and it's a great place to relax with friends or enjoy a date night. Even though they don't have outdoor seating, it somehow still feels like the perfect summer spot thanks to the bright, coastal Italian atmosphere and refreshing drinks. Thursday date night dinner At Malfi Enoteca. Our first time at Malfi. Located in the historic Packard building at NW 10th and Robinson, Malfi's is elevated dining in a relaxed atmosphere. What they've done to the interior with the color scheme and murals offers a cool environment with an energentic vibe. I love the old Vespa that is being used as a hostess table. The menu is presented on news print with multiple pages. I think that style of menu is intended to be different and fun, but I found it difficult and awkward. We skipped ordering appetizers. We ordered cesar salads and pasta dishes. The ceasar salads were just OK. They were very dry. I asked Jan if there was ceasar dressing on the salads and she thought there was a little, but it was very little. Also, there were no croutons in the salad. The first ceasar I've ever had without croutons. There was a heavy amount of finely shreaded parmsean on the salad, in fact, it was so heavy it nearly covered all of the lettuce. I ordered the Bucatini with basil cream, pesto and whipped burrata ($19). It was excellent. Very tasteful, very delightful. Jan ordered Rigatoni Ala Vodka ($17). She thought it was good. We ordered an affagato for an after dinner drink. Their version does not come with liqueur. It is common to an a shot of walnut or hazelnut liqueur to the drink. You won't be dissapointed. This is where Packard used to be and the parking lot across the street on 10th St. is free parking and pre-spacious. When I walked inside, I love the interior. The coral was really a nice touch. I love how they serve their menu and the staff was super friendly. We got the Caesar salad and the white bean dip that came with sourdough bread from Harvey's bakery. Caesar salad was nice. It had a lot of cheese on top so if you're lactose intolerant, I would skip it but if anything, please get the white bean dip. It was so good. It has sage and pancetta, and the flavor was just impeccable. We also got the Bucatini with the pesto and added on the salmon. I'm not sure what the mixup was, but our salmon came fairly late, but it was cooked very well. I got the hotel national cocktail and my friend got the Limoncello spritz and it was both refreshing! Ate here with a decently sized group and able to share multiple dishes family style and found that the appetizers and pasta were on the larger size which was perfect. Everything we tried was delish but my faves were the burrata & prosciutto, white bean dip, caesar salad, bucatini, and ricotta cake. The seasonings and saltiness was ideal, no notes. I loved the tagliatelle bolognese. My wife makes an amazing bolognese, and this is scary close. The vegetables are finely minced. The portion size was great. I'm typing this five hours later and I'm still full. I've tried the bolognese at several places. Some I've really liked; some are a glorified meat sauce. This is great. I also tried a bite of the bucatini. I'm usually not big on pesto sauces, but I really liked this one. We all enjoyed the white bean dip appetizer. We liked it a lot, but funny as it sounds, the croutons were the star. They almost had a bacon taste. I told our waiter they need to add the croutons as an appetizer. As far as dessert, we were all stuffed so we shared a piece of the ricotta cake with diplomat cream and lemon curb. It was very good and a nice ending to our meal. They've done a nice job converting the place from Packard's. It's clean, bright and not nearly as pretentious as some Italian places. I have been so excited to try Malfi since both Oklahoma locations have opened! I didn't realize the OKC one went in where Packards once was. It looks totally different inside! Thrilled we saw Malfi listed as the best Italian restaurant in OKC! We booked dinner there on a Saturday in January -- our first dinner in OKC as we took in the sights for a weekend. Malfi is a warm and inviting space, with a friendly hostess and staff. We felt welcomed and were never rushed. We had a 6:30 reservation and we were seated promptly. After ordering a bottle of wine, we started with Crispy Zucchini and Tomato Toast. The Zucchini was fried eggplant and squash blossoms, with labneh, lemon, parmesan and herbs. It was full of flavor and not too heavy. The labneh and lemon made everything pop! As my son described the dish, it is like onion rings but for adults. While my son favored the Zucchini. the Tomato Toast was my preferred starter. Piled with fresh tomatoes and garlic, I could not get enough! For my entree, I enjoyed spaghetti with tomato, garlic, basil and parmesan. It was fresh and flavorful and took me back 50 plus years to childhood! This place was very hyped since it just opened a few months ago, and I kept hearing about it from friends and coworkers who were dying to try it. When we went, the first thing we disliked was the location. Parking was really hard to find, and there are no restrooms inside the restaurant. You have to go outside and use the public restrooms in the little strip mall, which was not ideal. The restaurant itself is very trendy and aesthetic, and I think it's a lovely spot for a drinks and apps night. The menu is super cute and everything looked good. Malfi was such a fun yet classic Italian spot that I've been dying to try! The place certainly has character, from its bold interior to the fun newspaper style menus. And the servers were so fun, checking on us often and following up on how we liked our dishes! Burrata with prosciutto and sourdough - incredible. The burrata is so soft and almost sweet, and spreads so satisfyingly on the toasted sourdough, which has a perfect crisp bite. Add the prosciutto on top for the savory layer and it was a starter I couldn't get enough of! Tagliatelle bolognese - the sauce on this is so flavorful and full! Definitely leans more on the savory side than tangy. The tagliatelle itself proved to be a little thin for my liking, but I think that was my personal taste. However, I really enjoyed this and would get it again! Bucatini with pesto and whipped burrata - recommended by not one but TWO servers as their favorite dish! My friend ordered it and I snagged a bite, and for the amount of hype it got I have to say it underwhelmed me a bit. However, my friend said she really liked it and I didn't get the whole dish, so I trust it must be better in full! I'll have to get it next time. Ricotta cake with diplomat cream and lemon curd - like a luscious lemon bar in cake form. One of my favorite cakes I've had, I loved it. They accommodate dietary restrictions well here and were very attentive. The fried zucchini and squash blossoms are a must. First time at Malfi, and I was excited! The inside was decorated super cute, and the menus were newspaper style. Our waiters knew the menu inside and out and helped us with any questions we had. I do think the service was overall a bit slow because I found us waiting for quite a bit of time for our appetizer on a weeknight. That said, our burrata appetizer was fresh but a bit underwhelming. It did feel like it was missing something-- possibly just a bit too simple for me for the price ($17 for simply burrata, prosciutto, and sourdough). For our mains, we shared the caesar salad with chicken, the bucatini with basil cream and burrata, and the tagliolini al burro. The caesar salad was delicious and so dressed-- just the way I enjoy it. We found that the chicken was just a bit dry. The bucatini was cooked well, and the pesto sauce with the burrata was tasty. The tagliolini, which the restaurant makes fresh, was cooked perfectly, and the butter sauce was incredibly light. I wish there was just a bit more seasoning because I found myself wanting more from the dish. For dessert, we ordered the panna cotta and the ricotta cake with diplomat cream and lemon curd. Both desserts were phenomenal, and possibly the best part of the night. The panna cotta was soso light and delicious-- I really did wish the portion was bigger! Came to Malfi in OKC for my sister's bachelorette and birthday weekend, and unfortunately it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. We made reservations for 12 and even chose an earlier time specifically so we could sit together, yet when we arrived, our party was split up on completely opposite sides of the restaurant. When we politely asked if we could be seated closer together, the hostess responded with noticeable attitude, which only added to the frustration. To make matters worse, several forks at our tables were dirty. The food was just as underwhelming. The Caesar salad tasted like the dressing was straight from a bottle with a strange whisper of soap flavor. The bucatini -- which is typically a standout dish -- lacked flavor and was not enjoyable at all. If it hadn't been my sister's celebration, I would have sent my meal back.
