This place has been our go to for Chinese food since we moved back from the Bay Area. Always good, great service, good size portions, and incredibly fast food prep times with out sacrificing quality. Prices have gone up since the COVID shutdown, trying to make up for the four months they close down. They have a ton of business and have not gone back to the old pricing. My sister ordered the salt and pepper chicken wings for our Easter lunch on Saturday, April 17 and prepaid to pick them up on Sunday, April 18 at 12:45. They waited for 50 minutes for their order. Meanwhile, people were walking in and sitting at their tables eating and had chicken wings on their plate. Hmmm..... could've been my sister's order of wings. Actually, she wasn't the only one who had to wait, there were others before her that had been waiting. She said she was never going to order from them again. Update your hours. We have been able to reach them by phone one time after calling many times during business hours. Stopped by during business hours and they are closed. The one time we were able to get through on their single line phone, they gave a short answer "Covid business hours, sorry our kitchen closed already." They said that they close each day either at 7pm or 730pm depending on how busy they are. This place used to be great, but now it seems like they just stopped caring about keeping their customers informed and in turn have made doing business with them a real pain. read more

I normally do take out at this place but me and family decided to sit in and actually eat. I ordered the salt pepper chicken, mixed veggies, shrimp fried rice. Our tab was $45 +. The food came out no later than 15 minutes or less. The waitress are very attentive to what we may needed. We didn't have to as for refill that already made sure it was covered. After so many Chinese disappointments this year of either greasy or just not good overall food, I was shocked to find this place in my own back yard. I ordered for a group of four and even the pickiest among us went back for seconds. I ordered on a busy Friday night just before 7pm and the food was ready in ten minutes when I arrived to pick it up. Place was clean, had a number of diners, and the cooking smells were very pleasant as I stood in line. Staff was friendly and efficient in handling the number of pick up orders. We had: Sweet N Sour soup - meh, was ok but tasted young to me. Salt N Pepper Wings - An enormous portion and very yummy. House Noodles (Chow Mein) - Again, enough for four and very tasty Mongolian Beef - Very tender with plenty of sauce, quite delicious Cashew Shrimp - Very well prepared, shrimp were not overcooked and veggies and nuts not too soft. Fried Rice instead of steamed - again a generous portion. We had ordered beef with broccoli so they did make a mistake on our order but it was a fortuitous one as the mongolian was the best dish of the group, so no star deduction. read more

Delicious food! And always excellent service! They have not reopened for inside dining yet. They have amazing salted/pepper wings, fish or calamari! My favorite dish is their Oceania with vegetables! All entrees come with fried or steamed rice. When you search for their website it's basically a fake site that perhaps someone else created so be careful of that. The menu is posted on the false website and here on Yelp. The prices have increased slightly, about $2-3 per large entree. I was coming home from work and I accidentally called the wrong place which happens to be this restaurant to order a single plate meal. When I realized that I called the wrong place, I called to cancel the order and the lady responded. Don't you ever call here and order again. I had a common courtesy to call and let them know within five minutes that I made a mistake and they still were very rude, everyone makes mistakes and I am very upset that they decided to be rude with me and tell me to never order from them again. The raving reviews on the salt and pepper chicken got me to come here. $33 for two things. I understand that prices have risen for many places because of the circumstance of the world, but the chicken went up in price by 6 dollars if you look at the menu online compared to the menu right outside the shop/what you pay. The quantity is definitely VERY generous. That much chicken was exciting for sure but I have to say I'm disappointed. Both things we ordered were just ok. The reviews made it seem out of this world. There lunch menu is ridiculous, 1 option? ..and other chinese/mandarin restaurants offer 3 choices smh. Also to go orders you cannot take the soup? So why charge that price? What's the difference if I ask to eat it there then ask for the to go bowl? ... good restaurants will only stay in business long when you treat people good and not price gauge and lessen your product. Tried this place based on a friend's recommendation. Word on the street is that their chicken wings are so good, there's a line out the door on Superbowl Sunday to pick up to-go orders. Unfortunately, we found the food to be very oily and the fried dishes tasted as if the frying oil was rancid. The portions were enormous - we ordered four dishes and egg rolls and wound up with enough food for eight hungry lumberjacks. White meat chicken was used in the Kung Pao, which is nice as sometimes the chicken in Kung Pao is cheap and gristly. On the whole though, just can't recommend them based on so much oil and the rancid flavor of the egg rolls and orange chicken. read more

Very nostalgic place for me since I grew up eating here as a child. My grandpa would always bring me here when we came to his house. I come for the wings but everything else is good enough to eat I enjoy the house fried rice. My family got some other things I got to try. The wings won't fail you they're like triple fried or something that makes them delicious. They come out of the kitchen really fast but it's cool they're amazing. read more

Generous two stars. Relatively speaking I am sort of new, I've been going there about 15 years. I will not return. I always get the same thing, tray of Salted pepper wings. The wings use to be robust, virtually greaseless and a topic of conversation. My first red flag was that I received my order in just under five minutes; it turned out to be a tray of substandard wings soaked in grease; the accent of salted pepper wings was completely lost; the wings were however still a topic of conversation as nobody would eat them and made polite inquires as to where did I get them so they could identify where not to go. BEST. CHICKEN. WINGS. Whenever I come down to SD, I make an effort to squeeze in a visit to get an order of salt n pepper wings. I haven't found a place in OC that has similar wings (kind of like how burritos are not the same between SD and OC- why are there rice and beans in burritos, OC?) These wings are super crispy but the batter is very light. Crumbs of green onions, garlic, red pepper flakes, and chopped chilis add to the flavor. Each order comes with a side order of either white rice, fried rice or chow mein. Serving sizes are huge- definitely a shareable entree! I love these wings because they're definitely different from other Asian styles, like Korean chicken wings- it's not as plain as "original" flavors because of the added crumbs of flavor. I wish OC can offer these wings to lessen my food commutes to SD. read more

We sat down for lunch before 3 PM and tried to get someone to take our order but they didn't. 3 minutes after 3 PM the server arrived and refused to allow us to order from the lunch specials even after we explained that we arrived way before 3 PM. I ordered the chicken chop suey and the kung pow chicken with fried rice. The fried rice was very dry and needed more taste. The king pow chicken was not spicy as advertised. Dined in for the 1st time in a few years (did take out awhile back and it was ok). I'm finally updating my review for a well deserved solid 4 now. They cleaned up the place with updating flooring and improving the overall atmosphere. Tables are nice & clean now too. Service was super fast. Lighting fast as I remember from working at a Chinese restaurant back in the 80's. I was waiting for my +1 to finish his haircut and the waitress told me it would literally only take 2 or 3 minutes to prepare the food. Like I said, I worked at this type of restaurant and that's how a good Chinese restaurant rolls. So I told her let's wait until he arrives. Sure enough as soon as he sits down she places the order and we are diving into heaping mounds of scorch your mouth food loaded with veggies and solid ingredients. The lunch specials are ridiculous....$7.75 choices are limited but include the enticing and well touted chicken wings...2 come with this deal. Almond chicken was on this short list and it was loaded with tons of toasted almonds and veggies and perfectly prepared chicken. This deal also comes with your choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup. We tried the hot and sour soup and it seemed legit. The $8.75 lunch special has a much larger menu to choose from but doesn't come with the two chicken wings. We opted for shrimp in black bean sauce.....torn here because the flavor of the sauce was amazing but it was only loaded with green peppers and onions and wish there had been a few more shrimp or veggies. But for less than 9 bucks...what am I thinking even writing that?! The sauce was so good we mixed it in with almond chicken which is on the mild side...but has so many good ingredients its a solid choice. Service was friendly and now I know I'll be a regular to try other dishes. They have the over oily delicious noodles that I have tried before but it was refreshing to see that our choices today were healthier and tasty too. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday evening not long ago and it was sooo busy! We were seated and the wait became even longer. 2 of us ordered a couple dishes each and by the end of our order our waitress was looking at us like we were nuts.
