I was very pleased with this experience. We were served with great attention and helpfulness. The décor is minimalist and modern with some Asian touches. From the menu, we chose: - Ari Tuna Crispy rice $14.00 (very tasty, the rice is perfectly crispy); - The Zen roll $10.00 (tasty, but I didn't really notice the mushroom flavor; it is better with soy sauce and wasabi); - Curry Udon $20.00 (the fried chicken is simply delicious; the size of the dish is well worth the price). All dishes arrived quickly, and the service was excellent.
Had a nice Valentine's Day lunch here with my honey. Our food and drinks were delicious! I ordered the lavender margarita and my bf ordered a sake Long Island ice tea. My drink was very smooth and tasted like a yummy lavender lemonade. As for food I ordered the surf & turf roll and my bf ordered the ribeye with wasabi chimichurri. My roll was very good and the steak was cooked perfectly. We both loved the wasabi chimichurri. We also ordered the tempura cheesecake for dessert. Everything was delicious and I loved the restaurant design with the pretty lit wall behind the sushi bar. I would love to come back and sit at the sushi bar.
First thing is first, I went here specifically to try the Bang Bang Noodles based on all of the rave reviews and found out when I got there that they took it off of the menu. Not sure why, but the table next to me wanted to order that as well. Seems odd to take such a popular item off of the menu, but none the less, I proceeded to order some sushi. The waitress was very friendly and fast. The rolls came out extraordinarily quick. I had the kamikaze, tsunami, and cucumber skin roll. All of them were food but the Tsunami was definitely my favorite of the three followed by the kamikaze. The kamikaze had dried salmon skin inside which I really liked and gave it a great texture with a light crunch. The ambiance is modern, cozy, and very clean.. All of the staff were very nice and overall service was spot on. Although I wasn't able to get what I came in for, it was still a good experience. Hopefully the Bang Bang Noodles find their way back in the menu at some point. But either way I would eat here again.
I didn't post this right after my visit, so I don't remember every menu detail. What I do recall is that while the service was fantastic, the food itself didn't quite meet my expectations. I've been to similar sushi spots where the quality was noticeably better, and for the price here, I was hoping for more of a "wow" factor. On the positive side, the drinks and atmosphere were both great, and the overall vibe was enjoyable. If I were rating just service, drinks, and aesthetics, I'd give it a 4. Unfortunately, the food quality brought my overall rating down.
I ordered the tsunami roll and it had a proportionate amount of rice and toppings in my opinion, it wasn't just a roll with a bunch if rice. The fish was fresh and smooth with a crunch from the shrimp tempura and I love a best of both worlds in texture. The edamame was chili garlic flavored and it was really good. It had a spice to the traditional edamame which I really liked. The ube flan was smooth and somewhat thick, I wish it had a stronger ube flavor, but nevertheless, it was still very tasty. The pandan creme brulee was very soft and reminded me of a mousse but I was able to taste the pandan flavor. The service was nice and he checked on us regularly. The ambiance and setup was nice and there weren't many people as we came in around noon when they opened. Overall, great experience!
Pretty restaurant, albeit smaller inside than it looks online. Good service and a great value with the Happy Hour menu. The food was super fresh although lacking a bit flavor wise, and presented very nicely. Had the Crunchee roll (meant to get the Yummy), calamari and lychee martini that gave me big apple juice notes on the tongue. Not opposed to trying other items but not pressed to return based on this taste. I implore you to explore as it is nice.
Absolutely fabulous. I am a sushi and fresh fish fanatic. I am delighted when there are fresh takes. And Otoro rings the bell. I had a salmon aburi roll that had three types of salmon. The spicy salmon inside was fantastic. The ikura (egg) on top was perfect and added the right level of saltiness. The cooked salmon on top would have been better raw, but still great. Then, because of the other reviews, I had the shrimp fried rice. Normally I would not order that. But I am so glad I did. The flavors were great. I do not know what sauce the shrimp were in, but I could eat it all day. The rice was the right level of crispy. My wife and I realized that while you could have a big meal here, the portions are so big that it is possible to share two dishes, eat in a reasonable amount of time, and walk out feeling great for under $50. We will surely be back. I loved the cool interior and the waitstaff was helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.
If I could give this place 100 stars I would. My mom and I did the omakase experience, which you had to call ahead of time and reserve so the chef was able to prepare ahead of time. They take a $50 per person deposit at reservation and the experience advertises itself as $175/pp for 14 pieces. This experience was less like your traditional omakase sitting in a room with eight other people are watching the chefs, and more like a private chef dinner. My mother and I sat at the sushi bar, right in front of Chef Jimmy. Our server, Matthew, introduced and greeted himself, and took away every plate immediately upon completion. Chef Jimmy was so happy to meet us and incredibly personable. He asked us all about Miami, our travels, our favorite sushi, and other omakases we have experienced. He was so thankful and grateful that we were there, and we even took a shot of nice whiskey with him! The restaurant does not have a full bar but he has it behind the sushi counter and will offer to buy you a shot. Now - let's talk food. This was one of the best omakase experiences I have ever had. First of all, I almost had to stop the chef from bringing food out - I was SO FULL. In most omakases you're usually given one piece of nigiri per fish - here they give you at least two of almost everything, and there were way more than 14 courses. We said "oh my god wow" after eating every single bite. The creativity and sauces were amazing, and there was so much caviar and uni involved in the pieces that I simply could not believe my eyes. In the end you get two full size, huge desserts that we could seriously only take one bite of. In terms of the omakase my favorite dishes were the toro box, the king crab, the langostinos, the wagyu, and the ama ebi. But truly - I can't decide and I cannot wait to go back. It's an hour and fifteen minute drive for us to get here, and worth EVERY MINUTE.
Service: 5 stars Food: 2 stars Service was quick and amazing! David was great! He was really friendly, great quick conversation about UFC fights. Told him the meaning regarding the shirt I was wearing. He was helpful grabbing a high chair for my daughter. He came back multiple times to check on us and asked how the food was. I ordered the dumplings ($12) for my daughter. It was originally pan-fried, I asked David if they could just steam/boil them and they were able to do so. Very accommodating! The dumplings were meat heavy and the wrap was thin and on top it was thicker (LOVED that). It looks like they dumplings were made in house. There was a ponzu sauce that was already on the plate. It was very heavy on the vinegar. I like tangy ponzu but not overpowered by vinegar but more with citrus (lime, lemon, yuzu). The meat wasnt as flavourful, bland meat, didnt have any veggies or spices to it. My daughter wasnt a big fan, so I ordered an easy roll that couldnt taste bad, the avocado roll! Simple roll, it was decently priced on the kids menu for $7. The avocado wasn't perfectly green, there were a few brown spots in it, maybe we came too early on Monday and it was leftovers from the previous night? The chef could've been a bit more detail oriented and taken those parts out of the avocado for better presentation. I ordered the cucumber skin roll ($14) which had Crab, Salmon, Tuna, and Avocado. I love cucumber rolls since theyre refreshing and usually order two of them. I'm glad I only ordered one to try it out first. I was surprised to see the word, crab instead of krab on the menu. When I ordered I was thinking it would be real crab but just a tiny bit since it's expensive and the roll was priced on the lower end. I was wrong. The dish came out, it was just regular imitation krab. The tuna came out minced, I did not like it. It was really really fishy. Im not usually a tuna gal but I'd still eat it in my sushi rolls. The tuna again tasted like it was yesterday's leftovers being used. The presentation with the cucumber skill roll was really pretty. When I left, David and a lady up front said good-bye. Service is great. Decor was modern and cozy. I was really looking forward to this sushi spot since it's highly rated on yelp and a few of my friends and husband wanted to dine here. Maybe it was just an off Monday morning for them.
I dined in with my daughter for lunch and it was not too busy but there were a few other couples dining so the food did not take too long to come out. This was by far the freshest and best tasting sushi that I have ever had. I thought the prices were reasonable for the quality. I think that I like this place for special occasions and not for my weekly sushi fix.
First visit here. Nice ambiance, great service (thank you Isabella) and delicious food. We had the Coconut Soup, Kani Rangoon, Curry Udon and Tsunami Roll. The only thing that wasn't great was the Rangoon. The ratio to filling and dumpling was way off. Also, the filling was not thick and every bite it would pour out on to the plate. I will absolutely return and try other items on the menu.
A few people have told me about this sushi place, and I am so glad I finally tried it!! The food is divine--some of the freshest sushi (especially if you are a nigiri lover), at a great price point for its quality. The nigiri was so yummy, I ordered a second order. I had the salmon belly, the hamachi (yellowtail), ikura, and the kampachi. All of the fish is incredibly fresh and the presentation is beautiful. I love sitting at the sushi counter where you are able to watch the sushi chefs work their magic. If you are a toro lover, they have a whole toro nigiri section. The restaurant is clean, and gives a warm vibe, while remaining sleek. They also have great sakes.
I have 50/50 feelings about this place, which is why I gave it 3 stars. The ambiance, vibe, and decor was amazing. At first look, the menu looks very unique. They even offer Omakase! I thought it was a fancy fine dinning restaurant but definitely an outing. I went for an early dinner. We got drinks. I ordered the Peach Sangria which was gooood. My friend ordered a Lychee Martini which I did try, and it was all Lychee and no martini. We got the Salmon Aburi and the Katana roll. The salmon roll is all salmon, and very yummy. The Katana roll is a spicy Hamachi and it was not spicy. We also got the Tuna Tataki which the waitress said was one of their popular appetizers. The size of the cuts of Tataki were thick! Which I appreciated. My favorite dish of the evening was the Pad Thai! The noodles were perfect, Al dente. The flavor wasn't too sweet. It was amazing, I'd come back just for the pad thai. And for dessert with ordered the Pandan cream brûlée. It was sweet, the flavor was Pandan and yummy. But I wish the texture was a little thicker. And the top wasn't torched enough where I had to crack the crème brûlée which is the fun part! See my dilemma. Might come back to try again, bc maybe it was what I ordered. read more
This is my second time coming here--I had to come back for the noodles. The first time I went, I had the coconut curry soup (with chicken) and the crunchee roll. The chicken curry soup was a little sour (definitely matching the description). Don't know how to describe it, but there was also "zing" to it that was probably the mild spiciness. The chicken and mushrooms were fresh, so definitely all in all a hearty warm way to fill my stomach. The crunchee roll has crab, tempura mix, tuna, yellowtail, avocado, and eel sauce. My friend had gotten the curry udon--and it was a major factor in me coming back again. The second time I got the salmon aburi roll and the curry udon. The salmon aburi roll has spicy salmon, avocado, aburi salmon, cilantro aioli, and salmon egg. The aburi salmon that topped the roll had that nice gentle sear. I liked this more than the crunchee roll because the spicy kick and the cilantro aioli gave the salmon aburi more range of flavor. My favorite by no surprise was the curry udon. Combining two of my favorite things--thai curry and udon, it was a perfect harmony of creamy sweet/savory curry with soft chewy noodles. The curry is definitely sweeter than what you might get at other places, but that's not something I personally mind. If you want coconutty flavor that's more savory/sour, you might like the coconut soup instead. Both times I went, the service was very attentive. The atmosphere is nicely decorated so it's a comfortable environment to enjoy food. I will definitely keep this place in mind if I'm ever thinking of noodles/sushi in the Davie area. read more
Food and beverages were amazing! We had the gyozas and they were so good and bigger than most restaurants. Also, we had two sushi rolls. One was a salmon roll with avocado and the other one had shrimp and tuna with jalapeño. The sushi quality was top grade and you can tell that everything was fresh. I will definitely be going back. read more
Came in for lunch celebration for Father's Day. The restaurant was nice, clean and quiet- exactly like how I would prefer it. The service was excellent and our waitress was very attentive and incredible nice. Certainly on the more expensive side but it's worth it for the occasion. Food was very good over all - even my picky parents enjoyed it. I wouldn't get the amber jack crudo again - underwhelming! read more

This trendy new sushi joint first caught my eye a few weeks ago, and I finally had the chance to visit for lunch over the weekend. There were a lot of tasty-sounding options on the menu which made it difficult to choose, but I ended up going with the iced green tea, the scratch dumplings, an assortment of nigiri sushi, and the pandan creme brulee. The green tea was actually more of a matcha, which I really enjoyed. While I think the dumplings could have been crispier, they had a very good flavor and were served with a delicious vinegar sauce. My personal nigiri assortment included 8 pieces - uni, ikura, unagi, hamachi, sake, maguro, the "king kani", and the "scallops and caviar". All pieces were a decent size, and the fish was fresh with a good texture. The pandan creme brulee was really smooth and not overly sweet, but could've had a much stronger pandan flavor in my opinion. Now - will Otoro replace my favorite local Japanese restaurant? Definitely not. It all boils down to the flavor of the sushi vs. the cost. The smallest nigiri assortment on their menu is 12 pieces for $40. 12 pieces is too much for me, but ordering 8 nigiri a la carte ended up costing me around $55. While everything at Otoro was a baseline level of "good", I found their nigiri a bit lacking in flavor overall for my tastes. Simply put, I've had better for far less. This restaurant faces some stiff competition in the area that they're in, and I think their continued success will rely on filling the niche they've carved out for themselves. Otoro has the ambiance - with the beautiful sushi bar and the sleek design scheme, they provide a level of class that many nearby sushi places do not. If the aesthetic is important to you, Otoro may be your place. That being said however, I enjoyed my time at Otoro and definitely think they're worth a try. read more

Delicious! We are BIG sushi people and instead of going with our tried and true, we opted for a new experience and are happy we did. The restaurant was pretty empty, only 3 other tables aside from us. Our server Jessica was great, very attentive, offered thoughts on the menu, and took a soup from our check after not having received it prior to our main dishes. We ordered: - Coconut Soup: Amazing. It has a lemongrass acidity which complements the richness of the coconut. - Tuna Tartar: Small but yummy. I liked the malanga chips it came on, but I was imagining a tuna tartar tower that I could pack at with the chips. - G14 Roll: It was great, not overly spicy if you're concerned about that. Though it's a fried roll, it did not taste heavy at all. - Katana Roll: Very nice roll, not overly spicy at all. I actually wish it was spicier. - Dancing Unagi: Fresh! Ive really never tasted eel this "light" in a roll. Great choice. - Pandan Creme Brulee: Must try! If you aren't familiar with pandan, it tastes like cereal milk to me. Now imagine that in bruleed fashion....delish! I do wish the top was more caramelized though. read more

We have thoroughly enjoyed many dining experiences and have been thoroughly impressed and delighted every single time. When you visit Otoro, you will consistently find the freshest, most superb sushi, and the finest quality ingredients in all their delicious dishes. TLDR: Otoro is a nice hole in the wall kinda spot. Good food, nice people, and a chill vibe. Would I go again: yes Food: I ordered the Katsu curry and it was delicious. However, the rest of the food was rather okay. Not terrible, not great, okay. Unfortunately, we had to send our soup back a couple of times. They did make a new batch, but by the time it was received we were done with dinner. Service: super nice people. Very willing to accommodate and work with the customers. They also help each other out which is brilliant to see. Ambiance: Chill vibes. Kinda tucked away in a plaza which gives it a nice locals only vibe read more

Saturday afternoon, beautiful weather and time for some good asian food. Look no further in Plantation than Otoro. Located in a strip mall near the Fountains a great visible place with ample parking. Inside, a nice space along with a bar and sushi rollers. We were in the mood for some noodles and wow they were both amazing! The shogun was my personal favorite, a lo-mein but not too eggy with lots of flavor. No left overs today, so good i finished the whole thing! Yes, it's a short review but simple and to the point. Hmm... the host that took our order seemed like in a bad mood. Not feeling the negative energy... also not a fan of her long nails touching the food- very unprofessional for a fancy restaurant like this. Anyway for starters, we ordered the krab Rangoon for $10 for 6 pieces... not enough cheese, just very crabby. Secondly, we ordered the beef pad see u. It's $16+$2 for meat options. We got beef. It was okay. Beef looked super burnt.. Next up, sushi- Mount Fuji - filled with shrimp tempura, cream cheese, asparagus and top with dynamite. Hmm- super burnt topping but overall it tasted bland- need to dip in eel sauce and spicy Mayo. Also the topping had a little kick to it. - ordered the otoro & truffle signature nigiri $15/ each- was not that great with texture and all. Also, ordered the uni piece for $11/each- definitely not fresh and not good... The sweet shrimp piece was not that great either and that was $7. Overall, this place is extremely pricey so choose your picks wisely :-)! However, it's a beautiful restaurant- I like the whole decor and atmosphere. read more
10/13/2021- I saw this place the first time when I was getting my nails done at a nearby salon and I had to tell the besties who are sushi fans. We made a date and decided to come here 10/13/21. There wasn't many people as they are a pretty new restaurant and they are in a "hidden" plaza. But, let me tell you it is worth the drive and just enter it on your GPS, you'll find it. First, the ambience is just right. It's definitely a place you can go on a date. It's fancy enough but not too pricey. We were very impressed with the décor, the furniture, the silverware, chopsticks and even the plates. We all ordered Sapporo on tap. After looking at the menu, we decided to order two appetizers. Avocado Balls, with spicy tuna & truffle mousse ($8) and Ahi Tuna Crispy Rice, crispy rice. spicy tuna ($12). The avocado balls were a surprise, they were creamy, just melted in your mouth with exquisite flavors. I could have eaten another plate of the ahi tuna crispy rice. We asked our server, what she recommended. Everything she recommended, we ordered. We had the Volcano Roll, spicy tuna. cucumber. tuna. spicy sesame. aburi. chili oil ($16). This is not your typical volcano roll, it is made with spicy tuna. Katana Roll, spicy yellowtail. cucumber. aburi yellowtail. serrano peppers. cilantro aioli ($16), and Mt. Fuji Roll, shrimp tempura. asparagus. cream cheese. baked seafood. eel sauce. green onion ($17). Everything came out perfect, flavors were on point and so was the beautiful presentation. This place caught my attention because I was visiting a vegan restaurant and it was close. I wanted to visit somewhere new. When I went the restaurant was empty. This place is stunning. It's perfect for adults. Great spot for a date night. Dillon was my server and he was Amazing. He was honest and give helpful tips. Just a gentle soul. I really went to this place to drink. I had the spicy sake, moscato, lychee martini and the blue something. Sorry I forgot the name. Definitely my favorite drink was the lychee martini. It was the level of sweetness I needed. I tried the appetizers. The crispy rice was scrumptious . I love the blend of the two texture. The crunch and the savory softness of the sushi. Simply perfect. The dumpling was okay. I prefer the crispy rice more. I do wish the dumpling offered more flavors. Let's talk about the green crème brûlée. Fantastic!it taste more like vanilla. It's a nice creamy desert with a hint of crunch from the sugar crust. I took one to go. I will say it taste better fresh than if you wait the next day. Overall, I had a great experience. I definitely would encourage others to check them out. read more

Worth a stop with some different rolls to try. Food = Very good. Avocado balls, Otoro spoons, signature nigiri, and Mt Fuji roll all had a nice flavor mix. Only knock would be the wagyu on the rolls and nigiri felt a bit overdone. Dessert was great, both Pandan creme brulee and Tempura cheesecake. Service = Good. People were nice and no problems here. Restaurant = Very clean and neat as expected for the prices. Simple layout. read more

My friend suggested this place to meet up for lunch - everyone knows I'm obsessed with Asian food. Otoro was delicious from beginning to end. We started with the lychee saketini and yuzu mule. I love lychee everything and this one tasted like juice (for me this is always a good thing!). I could have five of them. We then ordered miso soup, chicken coconut soup, and a volcano roll to share. The volcano roll was the only thing I would say was just ok out of everything we ate. Last for our main course we ordered the beef pad see ewe and the sweet chili karaage chicken. MMM FLAVOR EXPLOSION!! Literally SO GOOD just typing about it makes me want to go back today. I left no crumbs behind. On top of that our service was amazing and the restaurant has a nice aesthetic. Decided to go local for our anniversary dinner, and it was a great choice. Otoro does accept reservations, so I called to secure the time we wanted to eat. Reservations are not required, but it's always nice to know you don't have to worry once you arrive. The place is very nice and modern, and they have some outdoor seating on the sidewalk area as well. They have both a bar and a sushi bar if you want to sit to just eat sushi or have a couple of drinks. Service was fast, friendly and very professional. We were sat immediately and attended to within a minute or so. We ordered - Ahi Tuna Crispy Rice - it has tuna, jalapeño and rice cakes, which was delicious and I recommend it. - Scratch Dumplings - filled with pork and veggies pan fried. These came with four but probably the biggest/thickest dumplings I've ever seen lol. We ordered two not knowing they were big, so it was a lot for us. They weren't as flavorful as I would have liked, but they were still good. - Tsunami Roll - this has shrimp tempura with spicy tuna. This was fresh and delicious, and I highly recommend even though the spice level was high for me; to be honest and fair, I don't typically eat spicy food but wanted to give this a try. - Yummy Roll - this roll has tuna, salmon, yellowtail, cream cheese, scallion, yuzu ponzu, and it is deep fried. It came out fresh and fried perfectly. You can ask for sauces on the side if you want an extra kick like I did with kimchi sauce, but it does cost extra. In a nutshell, Otoro proved to be a nice, intimate place to come and eat sushi. It is inviting, and it was relatively busy. We would stop by again in the future , but next time, I'll try one of the main dishes from the kitchen. read more

What can I say... there's good sushi and great sushi. Then there's even better sushi (like the one I enjoyed here) and it makes you have to reorganize your list. Sushi here is easily top 3 percentile. The rice is soft, seaweed isn't rubbery or chewy, fish is so fresh it would have to be moving to be any fresher, and the presentation was great. Sushi pieces aren't too big and don't fall apart. Ginger slices were fresh. Wasabi was... well wasabi was wasabi. We started with some very legit dumplings. Pork stuffing was tasty, outer was crisp (pan fried). Good start. Server, Juliana, was nice and friendly. Next we ordered the litmus test (according to me) the Rainbow roll. Can't hide behind tempura shrimp here! Well, they passed with an A+ and probably the deans list, if sushi had a Deans list. Hell, it would've made class president. Fish was fresh, generous and avocado was on point. Can't ask for more than that. The Alaskan roll was also refreshing since most placed will use Krab. This place does too but this roll doesn't. The last roll I had was the salmon ... it had a fancy 2 word follow up I can't recall at the moment but it's on the list and has salmon inside and seared salmon on top. And once again they hit a home run with this very delicious combo. Nicely done. The chef surprised us with a "special" "secret menu" "don't tell anyone" dish and it stole the show. It was smoked hamachi with some diced tomato chimmichuri sorta sauce and let me just try and explain how heavenly this tasted. It was super light, extremely delicate and fresh hamachi with a wonderful olive and herb flavored topping. I enjoyed every last morsel. Wow! I wish I had enough room for more but I didn't! I was stuffed and very satisfied. I found my new NEW sushi spot! read more
I'm so happy to have finally found the perfect sushi spot in FL. I visit often and am always on the search of good food. We came here on a late Sunday evening. The ambiance of this spot is really nice and there are so many great options on the menu. Aside from sushi, they also have options of Thai stir fry dishes which we appreciated. Our server Jessica was amazing. She was super friendly and gave good suggestions. She even asked if we wanted any other condiments which I feel like is a service going out of their way, and I appreciated it so much. We will definitely be coming back! read more

Otoro boasts a very inviting atmosphere with clean tables, Great decor, popular music hits loud enough to drown out the table next to you and excellent service. Our waiter was the perfect amount of friendly and attentive. Thanks Deandre! We ordered a lot of food. We ordered the lobster temaki, crispy rice and scratch dumplings. The crispy rice was super good, great texture and flavor. The lobster temaki also had excellent flavor even though I don't like seaweed. The scratch dumplings were clearly made from scratch with decent flavor but a little dry. We ordered a whole mess of rolls to try a little bit of everything and most everything was delicious but in general: the spicy tuna is a lot spicier than most other sushi places. Also, read the details of the volcano roll. It's not your typical volcano roll. Other than that, every roll was delicious and so far the best sushi I've had in the area. Great place to go on a date and just chat it up for an hour or two while you need some sushi, but equally as good for large parties to enjoy a birthday celebration. read more

All I have to say is WOW... I'm always on the lookout for new Japanese spots and this one blew me out of the water. We walked in and took 2 seats at the bar. We were greeted instantly. They had only sake cocktails; ordered a lychee martini and a peach sangria. Both were 12/10 delicious! ESPECIALLY the peach sangria, if you want something that tastes fruity and refreshing, this is your drink. For the appetizers we ordered avocado balls and crispy tuna. The crispy tuna was on point. The rice was crispy and the tuna was perfectly paired. This is going to sound crazy, but this restaurant has the BEST spicy Mayo I've ever tasted in my life. It's like a gourmet version that has so much extra flavor and just some extra herbs or something. It was delicious. Used that for every dish and it exponentially improved each dish. I've never had avocado balls before, they were interesting. There's tuna at the bottom and avocado all throughout. Not sure I would get that dish again but my boyfriend enjoyed it; very unique. Our sushi, was sooo delicious. It had a smoky flavor to it. It was shrimp tempura topped off with wagyu beef. Absolutely delicious. Everything looked amazing but I must say I was actually let down by Otoro. Scratch dumplings were almost like meatball dumplings. The tempura asparagus could be better if they put the yum yum sauce on the side like we assumed it would be. It was just a bit much. The crab Rangoons were great. My only complaint is that I need more of that sauce on the plate!! The pepper steak wasn't very good. The sauce on it had a good flavor but the actual meat itself tasted almost like it didn't have seasoning on it? The ramen was mediocre & the roll we ordered wasn't very good that I can't even remember the name of it. The pandan creme brulee was great. I would come here only for the crab Rangoons and the creme brulee. read more

Everything went well! We loved every single bit of their omakase experience. Chef Jimmy was PHENOMENAL. Such a kind spirit and so passionate about his food. His wife apparently made the amazing desserts and his daughter also seemed to be a server there. We loved the family owned vibe, the friendly conversation and the exquisite food. Our server, Jessica, is also their bar manager and she was amazing! So polite and never let our cups go empty. The staff had great energy all around and the food is something we will continue to return for. Regardless of if you're in the area or not, you need to give them a try. The ambiance is perfect for any occasion and it's so refreshing to see such a passionate chef and staff. read more

Stopped for lunch- have been wanting to try. Such cute atmosphere- love how the hot tea is accompanied with lemon and honey. The sushi was fresh and yummy. The server offered a homemade wasabi which sounded really good, but I'm going to save that for when my husband and I come back for dinner. In other words I will be back!!! Looks like it would be a cool place in the evening with the bar and cozy decor. read more

This place takes pride in their presentation. Everything was plated so beautifully. The atmosphere was lovely, decorated nicely. It's in a busy plaza with other restaurants and stores and ample parking. The staff was friendly and were able to provide good recommendations. For starters, I had a lychee martini, made with sake. It was pretty good, although I am used to them being made with vodka. We also had the shishito peppers which had rock salt and spices, they were good, not too spicey. My husband had the ramen, which he said was good, although it could have used more umami. I got the g14 roll on recommendation. It was tasty. Not what I would typically order but good. As for pricing, it is a bit more than other sushi places in the area. You are definitely paying for the ambiance. Overall, it is a good choice for a casual date night or girls night. read more
This place is hands down the best sushi I've had in Davie and I will be returning. My girlfriend is gluten free and they accommodated for that and the service was really great. Came here with the hubby on a random day of the week for a quick dinner. The restaurant was packed which is great for business. The decorations of the restaurant are very nice - Asian modern. Loved the plates and utensils here. Food: a little pricey but delicious. We ordered two rolls and some dumplings as an appetizer. We also ordered sake. The rolls are a little small for the price - with the food we ordered we were still hungry. But the rolls were very fresh and delicious. Service: this is why the place is getting 3 stars and not 4. Our server disappeared for a good portion of the night. Because of that, it took a long time to get our food order in (she only took our drink order and then disappeared for a while). She was nice - just took a long time. Overall: I like the restaurant. I will most likely come back to try it again. I recommend if you are in the mood for sushi. read more

Great Sushi with even better people. Chef Jimmy and family were amazing!!! Made us feel like we had known them for years even though it was our first time in the restaurant. Been eating sushi for 30+ years and I must say, last night was one of our favorites...we will be making the drive up from Miami many more times...100% worth it. read more

We came here NYE and got 3 seats right at the Sushi bar. I searched yelp to find a spot for sushi and this place was open NYE so decided to give it a go. Walking in around 7pm the place was pumping - loads of tables enjoying sushi and the atmosphere was electric. Our waitress was so sweet and sat us at the bar and we ordered loads of different things. We all had miso soup and my son just likes steamed tofu, ikura and salmon sushi - they accommodated him most willingly and smiles all round. My hubby and I enjoyed some sashimi (recommend you order your sashimi by the pieces as the $$ works out better than the combo). We drank some sake and beer and overall had a lovely experience. The owners were behind the bar making the sushi and they actually gave our son a couple pieces of salmon belly Sushi complimentary. Will be coming here again for sure!!! The sushi pieces were actually descent size and lots of items to choose from. They also do omokase - which I might try next time!! read more
