Some of the best pizza I have had in a long time. If you're a fan of thin crust, this is your place. Every pie I've sampled has been perfect, especially the potato bacon and scallion, the pulled pork (a good spicy kick, but nothing that will kill sensitive palates), and just about anything involving ricotta. Pizza didn't amaze me and the people here were a bit snobby, but I'd say the place is pretty good and reasonably priced. Three of us decided to share a 12" #6 Mashed Potato, Bacon and Scallion (because this is what Otto's is known for) and three slices of the other kinds. Very unfortunately though, Otto's doesn't offer slices for every combo on the menu. So we ended up only getting to try #14 White bean, roasted tomato, herb, red flake and #21 Baby Spinach, Chicken and Asiago. Eh, the latter two didn't make much of an impression. I thought the chicken was a bit overcooked and too tough. The Mashed potato, bacon, scallion pizza was good. Be forewarned, the scallion flavor was pretty prominent so if you don't like scallion, don't risk it. Overall, pizzas weren't too greasy, and I had three considerable sized slices of pizza for $10 as my dinner that night. A solid experience. One tip: The low-lighting and the location is definitely good for a cozy date! read more

Otto must have read my review and fixed most of the issues I called out in my previous review. While the restaurant is usually crowded, my family has been able to get a table with little wait. (This may be due to the summer break so it may get overcrowded again in the fall). On my recent visit, the staff was very accommodating. While we still can't get half and half toppings, we were permitted to order a small pizza and slices for my daughter. Given her allergies, this makes the experience much more enjoyable since we are no longer restricted to plain cheese pizza. During our earlier visit, we were not allowed to order slices at our table, period. I still suggest that the restaurant try to focus on more experienced and customer focused service staff. The pizza itself has gotten better. The crust is crispier and has less of a yeasty flavor. The toppings are better too. read more

For a Tuesday lunch, I thought my boyfriend and I were seated pretty quickly. Maybe it was because it was less than 24 hours after the incident at the marathon and people had work or wanted to stay home. There were eight special pizzas in rotation available for by the slice orders. I had the margherita and mushroom, bacon and Vidalia onion. Boyfriend ordered the mashed potato, bacon and scallion and I think the white bean, roasted tomato, herb and red flake. We both agreed it was nothing spectacular although he noted most of our slices were sauce less. The pizzas are thin and crunchy, the topping combos inventive, and the environment pretty nice minus Ronald McDonald's head looming over the dining area and guns drawn on the wall and aimed at our table. THIS PIZZA IS AMAZING! I have lived btwn Kenmore and Coolidge for six years, and coming from CHicago, I can tell you there is NO GOOD PIZZA in Boston - until now! There are some North End places that have done it for me in the meantime (shoutout to Ernesto's) but this is my new place. I can tell you I will absolutely be eating here once a week. Went last night for a quiet dinner; tried to order pizza by the slice but could not at a table - which I anticipated when we asked. That ended up being fine, because the pizza is obviously better made to order than reheated slices. Sidenote - I have been a couple times for slices in the past and the service was always quick and friendly. I enjoyed it, but knew it would be better made to order, and having it brought from the oven to our table last night exceeded expectations! Can't wait for delivery!! Went out last night - a sunday, not much of a wait however there was 5 of us ( all adults about 5'10'' or taller) CRAMMED at a 4 person table in the middle of the traffic area. Very uncomftable, hot and no room to eat or feel comfortable. We ordered 3 pizzas, tortellini- really good but easily could make at home, chicken and spinach- DISCUSTING- the chicken was fatty and ALL DARK MEAT- I am sorry but spending 23 dollars on a pizza i expect it to be boneless, skinless WHITE meat not cheap shit... this pizza was terrible sweet potato pizza- really oily and much to be desired. big blogs of puree sweet potato not large fresh chunks like i expected. Love me some amazing pizza and well Otto has amazing pizza! I was happy when they opened this spot as it's easy to have Sunday brunch here with friends. I love their pizza! I've tried their three-cheese tortellini; bacon, mashed potato and scallion; and the Zucchini, Summer Squash, Spinach - all very delicious! Just the right amount of sauce and toppings and not messy to eat. I appreciate their selection and would love to try others as well. Service was ok and prices aren't too bad. Otto Pizza is based in Portland, Maine. They make a paper-thin, NY-style pizza. It's generally very good. But the pepperoni pizza was very greasy. It was so greasy that I couldn't enjoy it. And the cheese pizza isn't really cheese at all;it has a lot of tomato on it. And they leave the tomato skin on the tomato. I got a big piece of tomato skin stuck on my teeth. Not very attractive. But they have a variety of different pizzas. One even has an egg on it. I like Portland. I'm glad to see a Portland chain taking root in Massachusetts. read more

My go to place when I lived in Coolidge Corner for over a year. Had frequent late work shifts and by the time I got back to the area, Otto's would be the only place opened. Slices for $3 dollars may be a turn off to some people but the slices are definitely worth it in size and taste. My favorite is the mashed potato, bacon, and scallion or the spicy pulled pork. Only star deduction is that the service is hit and miss sometimes, sometimes they're super happy to see you and sometimes they look like you're the last person they want to see at the moment. Its not as though the foods bad, but just terribly plain and under seasoned. I ordered a $7 Fennel salad and i get a plate of iceberg lettuce and some thin apples, I was like is this a joke? It was opening day when I went in here, so they were a little disorganized and it was clear they were doing some training while serving. But considering that, it was still a very solid experience! The Pepperoni was very nice, plenty of topping, decent amount of cheese and a nice hint of spice in the sauce. The Bacon/Mashed Potato/Scallion pizza was excellent, with just the right balance of each topping. The decor looks like it may have a few more finishing touches to go in, but it's clean and simple with a bit of old school funky at the bar. A slice was $3.50, which was a little pricey. But for that neighborhood it's not so bad. They have a little polishing to do on service and presentation, but I think this is going to be excellent competition for that other chain across the street from them! read more

Now one of my favorite pizza spots in the city. Thin, light crust and fresh ingredients. My favorite so far is the tomato and ricotta pie. Their sauce is just so flavorful and delicious. The bacon, mashed potato and scallion pizza is a very close second. I would solely return just for that pie. The combination of ingredients tastes incredible. Tried the spicy pulled pork and scallion pizza as well. Packed a lot of heat and while It was good, it just wasn't my favorite. My only complaint is that this is literally just a pizza place. That's the whole menu, minus like 3 or 4 salads. I was hoping for some fries or something to eat with my pizza but that's not an option. Great spot for pizza in Coolidge Corner, although it can get busy during peak hours. I like a lot of their topping combinations, and the pies always have a great balance of flavors. The crust is a bit chewy, but I like that consistency. I did get the Caesar salad once and found it to be lackluster, so I would stick to the pizza. read more

I FREAKIN love the pizza here. The bacon and potato pizza is a MUST! The dough is thin and the toppings are generous. I also get the pulled pork in a smaller version and that tastes pretty good too. One thing I would say is if you're expecting a lot of pork on it, you're gonna be disappointed lol. So don't get that if you are really craving meat and are hungry. Just get it for the taste! Good but expensive. This place is known to get packed since it opened not too long ago in Brookline. I thought their pizza was good but I dislike that their base cheese is asiagho instead of mozzarella. I would have preferred mozzarella because their topping selection is creative and interesting. I tried slices of the basil and feta, the pulled pork and mango, and bacon and mashed potatoes. I think the best was the pulled pork and mango. Yes, the pizza is good. It is a bit different - topping combinations and crust with seeds. I like it. The special salad was decent - mozzarella and bacon bits. The meatballs were very good. I would have them again. The service was very attentive. Tables filled up quickly around lunch time. It was also nice to see the Ronald McDonald head up near the ceiling. Come here about once a month and I'm never disappointed. Just great pizza from a place that isn't full of itself or pretentious or overpriced. You may have a short wait on a Friday or Saturday night - leave your number and go to the bookstore next door it's almost a bonus to have a 15 minute wait. Pizza and drinks for $30 - waitstaff is always great - tons of variety with offerings you may not expect to like but end up loving. Personal favorite is the butternut ricotta pizza - don't be an idiot by getting a plain cheese. Best bet is to get 2 smalls - only a couple bucks more than a large and your palette will thank you. Pizza at this place is pretty good, my favorite: eggplant, ricotta & basil. The waiting time was about 15min, while the place was almost full. Its nice that you can look into the kitchen. I didn't really like the mozzarella salad because they put too much salad and just a few mozzarella. However, I will be back for the pizza! read more

I have been ordering delivery from this place (via eat24) since I moved to Boston last July. The service originally was excellent - best peperroni pizza, quick delivery and no delivery charge. Since then, the delivery service at this restaurant (and their customer service) has deteriorated. Although I ahve ordered from this place more tan 75 times, they have consistently raised their pirces (and delivery charge) to deliery to my place. Furthermore, the delivery time has become HORRIBLE, often times not receiving my pizza for MORE THAN 2 HOURS. On tp of that, I have provided generous recommendations for this restaurant to make available a beverage section on their online menu - which is essential - and I was ignored repeatedly. Although I cannot speak about the in-restaurant service, I would NEVER again recommend this place for pizza delivery in a million years. read more

Delicious pizza place in a nice setting and good beer options. The pizza topping combinations that Otto offers is very innovative, and it's always fun to try new flavors when you go. Crust is thin and crispy. We had the mashed potato, bacon,and chive pizza and the butternut squash, ricotta, and cranberry pizza. Had high hopes for the mashed potato pizza since that is their bestseller, but it was a bit dry when it arrived at our table. I've been to Otto 3 times and I've tried Mashed Potato, Bacon and Scallion, Chicken and Basil, Mushroom, Bacon and Vidalia Onion, and Apple, Bacon and Red Onion pizzas. Picked up a large cheese pizza from Otto last Friday. I recognize that they have many fancier preparations on the menu but cheese is the standard bearer in our house. I should offer that thus was my family's first experience with Otto Pizza. We formerly gave all of our take-out pizza business to Upper Crust on Tremont St in the Southend. We gave up on them recently because the pizza has gotten so bad in recent months, but I digress. The Kids loved the pizza and the crust. (Which is a first) and so did I. Even the babysitter couldn't resist trying a piece even though she told me she wasn't going to dine with us. She was impressed as well. It had been 1 year since I last dined here, and I definitely do not remember being so disappointed before. We ordered a large sausage and onion ($20), and my friend had a cheese slice ($3). The pizzas had too little of everything-- whether you like crust, sauce, cheese or toppings. My friend's slice was even thinner than ours... Ottos is exactly what Boston needed and that is a great pizza place that excels over any other pizza in Boston. This is the best slice of pizza I've ever had. The sauce to cheese ratio is very even and balanced. The crust is thin and crispy but not overly crunchy and this place has an amazing variety of toppings!! Butternut Squash, Ricotta & Cranberry, Pulled Pork and Mango and a Ricotta Basil that beats any cheese pizza you have ever had. A small pizza is 10 bucks and 16 inch is 15 bucks. If you want to sit down at a table you have to order a whole pizza. If you want a slice you can sit at the bar or booths they have along the window and do some fun people watching. read more
