Awesome new addition to the Milk District area. This place has amazing decor and overall has a very cool Latin concept. My wife and came over the weekend with our son only to find out this place isn't kid friendly (no high chairs). We didn't have a reservation but we're seated quickly at a table top along the wall. We started off with cocktails while looking over the menu and decided to start with the chicharron. Came out looking amazing but when we took our first bite we both thought they were stale. Unfortunately they all tasted that way and were let down. We also ordered oysters they have raw and baked so we tried them both. The raw ones with the lime ginger mignonette were very delicious and unfortunately for the baked ones it had chicharron crumbles on it and again they were stale. For our main courses to share we got the Cocktail (Shrimp w/ Bloody Mary Lime) and the Mojo chicken w/ rice and beans. They were both very good and full of flavor with a nice sized portion. We both agreed that the prices for the entrees were a bit pricey for what you got. Overall very cool place we would definitely go back for drinks because they did have good cocktails but the dining experience was a let down. read more

So I came on impulse after driving by and just appreciated the atmosphere I saw from my car. Walking in my friend and I chose to sit in the bar to grab a cocktail. We received help with Brandon who really walked us throughout the cocktail program. The bartenders all chatted with patrons like old friends. It was an overall such a great experience. I'm used to cocktail bars in New York and personally wish I had this place by my home. Will definitely return when I'm in town. We normally love Ottos but I think they have officially dropped the ball and lost us. We waited over 45 minutes for our oysters and crab salad. We had to ask the waiter and he finally admitted he forgot to put it in. Once he put it in it took not even 10 minutes. Drinks gone and both of our moods as well....not only did we pay full price for his mistake but gratuity was included? Customers lost. read more

The vibes here were very unique and fun. We sat at the bar and our bartender was very friendly and the service was great. The cooked oysters were incredibly delicious, with the shrimp cocktail a close second. Overall, this restaurant is a superb addition to the mills 50 district ! read more

Staff is nice, place is cute. The drinks are pricey but good. Parking sucks. The only real major downside is honestly the food if you don't eat meat. It's kind of a bummer they have like 1 option and it's not really exciting. I would expect a bit more but I might just go for drinks instead. Cool spot. read more

So I'm not sure about this place..we waited an hour just to sit at the bar. It's very small and intimate so I get that. The hostess Chelsea and our server Yaz were very sweet! It was just me and a friend we ordered 2 cocktails and a pastry. I love the ambience and the decor. I didn't order food..my friend had been before and for the restaurant being authentic Cuban food it lacked a lot of flavor. We all have places you don't tell many people about because it's that good; great food, great drinks, great service and super chill vibes. Just stopped in to have a drink and try one of the more popular dishes, the Shrimp Cocktail and was worth it! Checks everything on my list, with one of the coolest bars I've sat at. It's supposed to be Cuban restaurant but perhaps Cuban food with a twist as it doesn't taste like regular Latin food but good flavor overall. We ordered the chicharrones and pastellito which were pork skins chips and cheese pastry. Not what a Latin person would consider chicharrones or pastellitos to be. Finally made it to Otto's. Perfect spot for a Sunday brunch or afternoon with friends. Our bartender Brandon was very knowledgeable and made some delicious off the menu drinks, which hit the spot. Being a born and raised puertorrican I can say the coquito was on point. I had the lechón asado with rice and black beans and the flan duo. For appetizer we had raw oysters. Boy were they good. Again the lechón had the perfect smokiness and was juicy and delicious, just like we make it at home. The flan duo reminded me of the flan I had in the island growing up. I will definitely be back to Otto's. It's cozy and friendly ambiance is just what this puertorrican needs when missing home. read more

Loved this spot so much! Definitely need to make reservations and bring a big appetite. My favorite item was the citrus tres leches. I love going to Otto's but last nights bartender outside was the slowest person I have ever seen. I ordered a Cuba Libre and a white wine which took 15min. I could have went to total wine and bought the rum, stopped by 7/11 for the coke and still been back faster then it took him to pour from the tap. Not to mention i waited in line behind 2 other people for 15min while he changed the record player and talked with these people about how great of a bartender he was. "Neighborhood rum bar with an extensive drink menu Beautiful all around. The drinks, food, interior, exterior, signage, staff... all of it. Our group tried many different drinks - each were wonderful - however, the Square Grouper (gin) and the Bustelo Biafra (take on an Irish coffee) were some shining stars. The mariposa was also delicious! The mojo chicken was tender and seasoned well.. along with the Ropa vieja. The pastel de Carne was small but a must try; so flavorful! We love Dan, one of the bartenders here.. so we knew the drinks would be great, but the experience truly blew our expectations out of the water. This place is absolutely delicious. I had the mojo chicken. The meat was so tender and full of flavor. My husband had the Ropa Viejo which he enjoyed very much. We shared the chicharrones and plantain chips. Both were excellent with a nice dipping sauce. We also shared a cinnamon bread pudding which was also delicious, but the best part of the experience for me were the two mocktails the bartender made for me. He took just as much time making them as he did my husband's cocktails and it showed. They were hands down the best I have ever had outside my home. The atmosphere was a very fun vibe. read more

My fiancé and I have eaten and drank here many times, so it felt right to have them cater our engagement party. We went with our favorites of the ropa vieja, old clothes, rice, beans, and Cuban sandwiches. Our guests were raving about how good the food was, and there was so much more than expected!! So many were able to go back for seconds, and even thirds. We also asked for some of their AMAZING hot sauce on the side when we picked it up, and we were one of the first to get their newly bottled hot sauces, which we are SO excited about them now selling! Absolutely love this place! The quality of food and cocktails are like no other in the area. I've been to their brunch as well as their dinner. Brunch food menu is more limited but drinks are the same. The dining room is quite loud so don't recommend if you're trying to have an intimate dinner or have in depth chats. The servers and hosts are very friendly and welcoming. This place is reservation only and they go pretty fast on "Resy" especially for prime dinner hours. So i definitely recommend making reservations at least 4 days in advance. But the whole ambience of the place is amazing from the design, style, and vibe. Parking can also be pretty tight bc it shares a parking lot with other businesses but it's not impossible. read more

I was in love with the ambiance and decor of this place and I actually liked that it was small and cozy. The drinks were amazing and our server was very sweet. However, I was very disheartened with the food. I had high expectations as this place recently got a Michelin star. The food was overpriced and greatly lacked flavor, which is disappointing for a Cuban-inspired cuisine place. read more

However, the staff is usually always gracious, helpful, and willing to serve. The few great mixologists I've met there have also been very willing to break down how they make their drinks and really give us a glimpse into their world. So, I'm appreciative of that. That is not something that you can always expect at bars. As for the drinks (and food I'll glaze over), I am usually not left disappointed. I appreciate that seasonally they play with their drink menu and introduce new cocktails. I also love a handful of their signature drinks on the menu. This may be the only bar I've had a drink with Aperol in it that I actually ENJOYED (and not tolerated). The pricing can get high depending on what you order, but for the area and the going rate of a night out, they hold their own. Definitely don't pop into Noir if you are looking for an AFFORDABLE cocktail experience because the tab will creep up on you. The food is OKAY. They share a kitchen with Talay and offer some items not on the Talay menu - which is nice. However, I rarely eat when I visit, so the few times I have, it's been okay. Nothing to truly brag home about. I am happy, though, that they did start offering food because in the very beginning (when they first opened), that was not an option. Anyways, Noir Bar is GREAT (to me)! I will keep coming here and recommending it to others. It's also great for a date night or night out with your friends. It's in a decent location - but please take heed of parking in this area, as it can be challenging to find FREE street parking. However, there is parking available all around and in various garages nearby.

With the way he approached us and was completely impatient, we were a little turned off and left. Which lost them money on our entire group. He followed us out the door as we left. It was a weird experience especially when there was literally no one else in there. The music was good but I doubt and of us will to back based on that experience alone.

I got my favorite cocktail, The Winter Park. I love that it comes with a little cookie. I tried their seasonal Sweet Spud cocktail with sweet potato, cheese cream, miso, and salt. I recently went to Orlando for a conference, and while we spent the majority of our time in a large…read moreresort and convention center, the leadership of the organization hosting the conference hosted a special dinner in one of the reservable ballrooms at the Cuba Libre Restaurant. I believe it may have been the Havana Ballroom. There was plenty of food, drinks, and mingling. The Cuba Libre Restaurant staff were great, and the venue was well laid out and worked for this event very well. When we arrived around 6:30 PM on a Saturday evening for our event, we first mingled around the tables and near the cash bar. There were a bunch of large tables that we began to fill out. As our program began and announces made and awards given out, appetizers were passed out. We were offered Guacamole Cubano, Mama Amelia's Empanadas, and Shrimp Cocktail which we passed around to the entire table. Personally, I skipped the guacamole and shrimp dishes but absolutely loved the empanadas. Yum! Then, an individual Cuban House Salad was passed out with red wine vinaigrette. This was also quite tasty. Next came the entrees including a choice of Salmon Paradiso, Ropa Vieja, Citrus Chicken, or Paella Vegetariana. I was trying to decide between the Ropa Vieja (beef brisket) and the Citrus Chicken. While the Citrus Chicken sounded perfect, I asked the serving staff their advice, and they recommended the Ropa Vieja for a true taste of Cuba. I was happy that I did even though it may have been more heavy and with a kick than I was expecting. I'm still glad I ordered it though. It was wonderfully prepared! And then, everyone received Cuban Flan for dessert. The Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar celebrates Cuban heritage and explores Cuban flavors, music, art, and traditions. The mission of the restaurant is to provide an "escape" to Havana through exciting food and beverages and entertainment experiences to celebrate the Cuban people and their culture. Orlando hosts one of several of this restaurant around the United States. This restaurant is in the midst of the Pointe Orlando. For our entrées, we had the Chilean Sea Bass, which absolutely melted in our mouths, and the 10oz center-cut filet, which was perfectly cooked to order with no fat or tendons -- just pure quality. You can tell they take pride in what comes out of that kitchen. They finished our meal by bringing out a special plate for my mom with a trio of strawberry sorbet, a chocolate cookie, and banana foster. It was beautifully presented, and that banana foster was fantastic! We will definitely consider ordering a full-sized one on our next visit. Overall, Eddie V's delivered an outstanding experience -- from the atmosphere to the service to every single bite. We'll absolutely be back.

THE HOSTESS We did not have reservations (that was our fault, NOT the restaurant) so we anticipated having to wait = No Problem. A hostess informed us it would be an hour, so we added our name to the list and left. When we called for an update 20 minutes later, we were told a text had been sent 10-15 minutes after we joined the list, and our table was no longer available. When I asked, why was I told 1-hr ... no explanation was provided. We did not receive the text at the number provided (again my fault, NOT the restaurant), so we provided a different number. A subsequent text was sent that our table was ready, but upon arrival, we were told that the table (for 2 people) lacked sufficient chairs - Seriously? BTW, envision the hostess (who appeared totally uninterested and indifferent) with a grin, resting her chin on the back of her hand as she twiddled her fingers while we communicated the issue. A supervisor offered us a table that was reserved, which we declined, as we felt it would unfairly inconvenience that party. We waited until we were able to sit at the bar. THE DRINKS Bartender Brandon: He started off rough (as if he did not want to be there), but after he overheard our conversation (i.e., "Hopefully the food makes up for it [see "The Hostess"] then he spoke with a manager to determine what we were speaking about. His attitude shifted dramatically, becoming engaging and genuinely focused on improving our visit, which he successfully did. We are very grateful for his effort. Appetizer: He recommended the squash & burrata salad, which was a pleasant surprise. The combination of roasted squash + burrata was so good it did not require any additional seasoning (neither salt nor pepper). The sous-chef deserved commendation. Dessert: Tres Leches and Toasted Coconut Rum Cake were very good. Eating either in their entirety would likely lead to immediate diabetes. We recommend that you get both. We appreciated the presentation of the rum cake. The pastry chef knows what s/he is doing. Finally, the cappuccino was good on its own, but we highly recommend adding some coquito for an enhanced experience. Thanks to Brandon, we were happy to pay for our two complimentary drinks and added their cost to his tip, resulting in a 61% gratuity. THE FOOD Supposedly, this is a Cuban-inspired restaurant. Automatic Tip for a Party of 2: 18% tip was automatically included, which tends to impact the quality of service one receives at a restaurant (which may explain Brandon's initial posture), but the automatic tip is still less than what we normally tip, so the 18% was not an issue, per se. Appetizer: The white fish / smoked fish dip is unsalvageable. Regardless of how much black pepper or salt (within reason) we added, it remained flavorless (do not order it). It is terrible. o ACME's pre-packaged white fish (from COSTCO and/or BJ's) taste better. Waaay better. Entre: * Mojo Chicken: The chicken was worse than the fish dip. The white rice was appropriately white. I don't expect a lot of flavor from white meat, but this chicken was tough, bland, and almost flavorless. * Lechon Asado: Simply not good. I have had Cuban sandwiches at gas stations that tasted better than this. * The beans were the second-best-flavored food (behind the salad), despite being slightly undercooked. * The chimichurri was a respectable third. Without it, no need to order the pork. Correction, don't order the Lechon Asado period! Had it not been for Bartender Brandon, this review would have had negative stars. read more

First visit to Otto's High Dive and I came away very impressed. The food was very good, the cocktails even better, and the overall experience left me looking forward to a return visit. I arrived just before their 4 PM opening and grabbed a seat at the beautiful quartz bar top once the doors opened. Happy hour was the mission, and I decided to build my meal entirely from the HH menu. To start, I ordered a mojito along with the tostones and shrimp skewers. The mojito was an excellent opening act. Refreshing, balanced, and exactly what I was hoping for. The tostones were also well executed. They were pressed to the perfect thickness, creating a crisp exterior while maintaining a tender center. The topping was flavorful, though I found it a bit sparse and could have used a little more generosity. The shrimp skewers were the standout dish of the evening. Served over white rice with a mango sofrito, they were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. While the portion was respectable, they were so good I immediately found myself wishing I had ordered more. As a follow-up to the mojito, I ordered a margarita. Another winner. The bar program appears to be taken very seriously here, and both cocktails were thoughtfully prepared and well balanced. The restaurant's decor is tasteful and inviting, creating a comfortable atmosphere without feeling overly polished. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and well trained throughout the visit. The only minor challenge is parking, as the lot is shared with neighboring businesses and can become crowded depending on the time of day. It's a small inconvenience and certainly not enough to detract from the experience. Overall, Otto's High Dive made a terrific first impression. Between the strong cocktail program, well-executed Cuban-inspired cuisine, and attentive service, it's easy to see why this place has developed a following. We hosted our company winter onsite dinner at Otto's High Dive and it was truly unforgettable. From start to finish, the experience was incredible. We had a special request to feature a whole pig, fully visible and available during appetizers, and it completely exceeded expectations. Our team could not stop talking about it -- such a fun, memorable touch that set the tone for the entire evening. The food was absolutely delicious, and the sit-down dinner was beautifully executed. First time visiting Otto's High Dive, and I was seriously impressed. I stopped in for drinks and a few bites, and everything was fantastic. The mezcal cocktail with chili oil was unique and absolutely delicious. The lamb lollipops were cooked perfectly, incredibly flavorful, and definitely the standout of the night. Even the bread service was amazing--the dipping sauces were so good. I only came in for a quick bite, but after this experience, I can't wait to come back and try the full menu. The hamachi was bright and flavorful. My husband who doesn't love raw fish really enjoyed it. The dumpling dish was my favorite, all the flavors you want in a good chili crisp dumpling dish. The red snapper was cooked really well and the cauliflower dish was incredible. They topped us off with a complimentary drink at the end to help digest. It was similar to a sweet vermouth. 10/10 experience. Will go back and try totally different dishes as their menu is ever changing.
