    Lemon berry scone
    Ashley H.

With a plethora of delicious-looking Palestinian baked goods, Oud was high on my cafe bucket list for a while. I was super excited to stop by recently, but unfortunately this experience missed the mark for me. It's usually pretty packed and on the loud side, so something to keep in mind if you're banking on snagging a spot or getting some work done. The staff seemed a bit stressed, but it was more understandable given the steady crowd. I ordered the lemon berry scone and a drip coffee. The scone was $7 and arrived ice cold as if it had been pulled out of the freezer to thaw. It was dry, unsweet, and had the overwhelming flavor of freezer burn. The coffee was a bit watery as well. I couldn't eat more than a couple of bites before tossing the pastry. $14 later, I left hungry and in search of another shop to satisfy the pastry craving. Given the other positive reviews and interesting looking menu offerings, I hope this visit was a fluke and may give this spot a round two in the future if my wallet is feeling lucky.

Solid spot for coffee, bakery items, and breakfast/lunch! Large menu with lots of options. Cookies, stuffed dates, banana latte, and breakfast wrap were all a hit! Cute cafe with ample seating side and out.

Pistachio croissant and a matcha sitting by a window people watching. Such a perfect Sunday post-workout activity.

Great strawberry matcha. The service was nice and the ambiance was cute. The cafe is a bit smaller but it's manageable. The matcha came out very quick.

Wonderful little cafe great for catching up with friends or working from home. Their focaccia breakfast sandwich was perfection. I also enjoyed the oud latte which had some unique flavor profiles. I will need to come back again to try more of their pastries. Would recommend! Service is fast.

This is a quaint little coffee shop with an abundance of drink options and so many baked goodies to try. The baked goods all looked incredible. I had the iced honey lavender latte with oat milk and my husband had the hot chai latte. We enjoyed our drinks. I will definitely be coming back to try their baked goods next time.

The vibe here is great for studying or hanging out. The place was packed with people chatting or getting work done. Service was really nice and welcoming. The drinks were great and light roast, which is exactly my style. The French toast latte was my favorite with the cold foam and strong cinnamony flavor. The banana bread latte was also really good and I feel like it would be even better hot. Both drinks weren't overly sweet but still leaned a little on the sweeter side. The milk cake was good too! I wish it was a bit milkier, but I loved the chocolate cake with nuts inside.

Been hearing about Oud and had to try while I was in Chicago! First off, Oud lattes are popular here and are an espresso milk based drink with cardamom and fresh mint leaves. Would give this a 4/5, felt like the depth of the flavor fell short against the milk in the drink. I would try one of their flavored seasonal lattes if I wanted something different here, but if it's your first time go for the Oud latte. Henry, our barista, was awesome. We were hoping to try the dark chocolate raspberry covered date, but they had supposedly run out. But after a couple minutes of thinking, Henry went to the back and brought back a box where he found exactly one left which we got to try! Amazing service!! The date itself was underwhelming, but worth trying if you're around. The dessert that's a must try here is the creme brulee croissant, 5/5- served warm, crisp! Cannot recommend this baked good here enough.

Solid little coffee shop with a ton of space to get work done. It was a bit crowded when I stopped in, but there are plenty of tables throughout the space, which makes it a great spot for working or studying if you can snag one. I went with the cold brew. It's a little on the pricier side, but it definitely hit the spot. The staff was super friendly too, which is always a plus. Overall, a solid place to grab coffee and settle in to hang out or get work done.

I ordered Zaatar Manakeesh, I was expecting a manakeesh that is served all over the world as a full size I received a mini manakeesh charged $4:45 You need to specify it's a mini Manakeesh, your prices are way too expensive, I come from the most expensive part of Newport Beach California and your prices are about 40% higher

Love Oud! They have such good drinks and the staff here is really nice! One of my favorite Palestinian owned cafes in the city! Next time I need to come back and try their food. I also thought their matcha was really good! I got the banana cold foam matcha and I would get it again!

This Coffee & Cafe had a cool vibe to it! We stopped in to try the crepes. When we arrived it was pretty busy and the line was long but it seemed to go quickly. my friend ordered the Nutella crepe(no pic) and I ordered the pistachio crepe-although it was good it was so sweet that I couldn't eat much, I'm not a big sweets person but I love pistachio! I tried one of the Matcha drinks which was delicious! We were in Chicago for a girls trip and I would definitely recommend trying this place out.

Slid by here around 3pm on a Wednesday. It was lowkey kinda full of people working late or needing an extra boost to get through the rest of the day. We ordered the: Oud coffee iced. Maple cardamom latte. The maple won. Both weren't sweet but the cardamom had a deeper flavor profile and as much as I love caffeine, I want a rich experience in which I can taste what it's being mixed with. Both were iced and 20oz which ran about 7 dollars for each one. Also ended up with a white pistachio cake which cost about ten bucks. It wasn't my favorite but the table liked it. This was one of the better coffee spots I've tasted in the city. So relative to the others, I gave it a four star. Although the cashier serving us did not seem to be happy to be there. Plenty of seating inside. Maybe enough for 30 and another 10-15 outside in their small patio on the sidewalk.

How is the quality of their coffee?

It's pretty good stuff, coming from a former barista. A lot of the drinks are very coffee-forward, less sweet/overpowered by other flavors.

I've been a customer of almost 10 years and have been obsessed since they first opened their doors at a different location. I literally live an hour away without traffic and even longer with traffic, but I make sure to stop by or send someone else to get it for me at least once a month or more. I love the amazing cakes that are so delicious and unique but on top of that, it is Asian owned, LGBTQ supporting, etc. A lot has changed since their little storefront with no seating. The bakery is now a full on cafe and I'm so happy to see how much they've grown and how successful they are. And while it is glorious, I will say I miss the sweet neighborhood charm and great customer service it used to have. Getting in touch with the bakery through phone or text can be tough and to be honest, sometimes one of the people working there is kind of...very mean. It had me questioning if I should keep coming back. I just love this bakery so much though and being raised by parents that had a small food business, I can't help but want to support. I had a particularly difficult last minute request for the bakery a few weeks ago and I was reminded why this place is so great. It had been YEARS since I made this specific request, which was an order for a slice of cake for every flavor and a cupcake for every flavor. This is a BIG and time consuming request, especially if it's last minute. Unfortunately I come to the city whenever the traffic isn't atrocious, so it's always last minute. Dom absolutely pulled through though. Even though there were other employees there (I saw two others but one disappeared and then another male was kind of walking around the cafe and such), Dom took this giant request and fulfilled it himself. The other gentleman (not the mean person previously mentioned) was actually who I made the request to, but he told Dom to do it. I was kind of confused why they didn't do it together but idk, maybe the other guy isn't allowed to handle food? Who knows. Regardless, this request obviously took a long time and the line was getting longer; people were getting a little restless but Dom stayed calm but was swift. I swear he was moving faster than most people in the industry could with a cake knife like that. He was not impatient or rude to me at all. He was just there to do his job as fast and well as possible. It's so rare to see that type of work ethic. He is also so obviously proud of the bakery and the food they serve which makes you feel good about being a patron there. So although I continue to have an unpleasant experience with one particular employee there, Dom keeps my love for this bakery alive. He reminds me of what this bakery was like when they first opened their doors. I hope Dom is cherished there and I bet he is considering his work ethic. I will continue to support this bakery and I recommend everyone else to support as well. It may not be that small little shop anymore but Dom is a reminder of the heart of the place.

I went close to 2pm, so I only waited about 15 minutes for brunch, but most of the pastries and breakfast sandwiches were already sold out. *Matcha Pandan Eclair $9.5 ** The biggest éclair I've ever seen! You get a mini version on their tasting menu, but the bakery sells this full-size beauty. My favorite pastry from the haul! I loved the crunch from the toasted genmai and the light pandan whipped cream. I just wish the matcha flavor was stronger. *Black Truffle Croissant $16 * Every bite was packed with black truffle flavor, and with fresh shaved black truffle, truffle oil, and a premium truffle filling, I could see why it costs $16. You also get a mini version on the tasting menu. But I wasn't a fan of the crunchy pearl sugar on top. I ended up shaving it all off. *Ube & Huckleberry Basque Cake $9 Loved the little powdered sun stencil inspired by the Philippine flag. It was filled with ube pastry cream and huckleberry. Personally, I found the filling too sweet for my liking. *Filipino Breakfast $20 ** I originally wanted their signature longanisa breakfast sandwich, but it was sold out, so the staff recommended this instead. Best recommendation ever, I even thanked them before I left! Every component was so thoughtfully done, especially the meats. Now I need to come back for the tasting menu. *Oh, Hot Yam $6.85 ** Hands down the best ube latte I've had. After my two-hour wait, I was told at the register that the black truffle croissant was sold out. However, I kept seeing fresh trays of them being brought out--presumably to fulfill online orders. It was incredibly disappointing to wait that long outside only to miss out on a signature item that was in front of my eyes. Breakfast Sandwich-- Loaded with longanisa, hash brown, eggs, and cheese.
