We have had their breads previously as they are a regular vendor at the Sat. Troy Farmers market. Soups, salads, and sandwiches are offered. All sandwiches are offered w/ your choice of bread (GF options) or bagels. Today they offered three soup options. Very good large sandwiches. Three people took home half their sandwich. Our server, Alysha, did offer to split the bill among the three couples. That should give away our ages LOL. My love affair with Our Daily Bread's brownies continues almost 20 years later! I grew up in Chatham and remember their first location and loving the brownies. They are so rich and dense. I have not live in Chatham for years but whenever I go visit, I stop in and get some. I was in town for Thanksgiving so I had to stop and get my bakery fix! First, let me note that they moved and the place has an awesome feel.(I only went in the bakery, I did not go in the dining area). The menu looked really good-a deli type menu with sandwiches and soups, etc... I only purchased some baked goods to go. I got some Brownies, which at $4.50 each (I think, if not they were $4) is pretty steep. Mind you, they are a decent size and so good. They used to be bigger. I honestly think that it tastes just like flourless chocolate cake. They keep them in a cooler, if you leave them out they are heavenly to eat at room temp but you definitely need a fork. I also got some chocolate chip cookies, they were just ok. I would not get them again. I got some Ginger/molasses cookies ( I forget exactly what they call them there) those were pretty good. They had some cookies by the pound and I got some of those-they were good as well. I had a pecan bar and those were really good! I grabbed a whole wheat baguette and that was good and reasonably priced. The only non-repeat item on a return visit would probably be the chocolate chip cookies. The reason that I only give it 4 stars is that the service was not terrible but not great either. The young man that initially helped me had very little knowledge. He did not know what many items were or what their price was and was having to run and ask someone (maybe the mgr or owner?). Possibly he was a recent hire. The man who he was running to and asking ended up coming over as well. He was more knowledgeable and very friendly. Though he still could not tell me what some of the cookies were that are bought by weight, that is why I can't be more specific when describing them. There was one that was awesome that had almonds. I also think for Chatham, NY, the prices were a bit steep. The pricing to me seemed more like prices that you would pay in a more metropolitan area. If you love super rich, dense brownies and/or flourless choc cake, this is a must try if you are in the area. If you get only one thing, that would be my suggestion. read more

This is one of my favorite places to get lunch in the area. Their falafel sandwich is one of the best I've ever had and I love all their baked goods, soups, and other items. Sitting outside in the back on a nice day is bliss. Minus one star bc they don't answer their phone so you can call it in ahead or ask any questions. I've been there and seen on more than one occasion someone who works there pick up a ringing phone and just leave off the hook and then come back and hang it up. Seems like there'd be a more professional way to deal with not answering calls when busy? Weird. Will still continue to go bc it's delicious and enjoyable! read more

Was passing through town and stopped by this place. There is a deli and restaurant side and decided to check out the restaurant part which had this rustic artistic feel, which was nice. You do get a plate of pita chips with carrots/cauliflower sprinkled with vinegar. The pita chips had a little too on them and would have liked the pita chips to be softer. The Italian sandwich I got was good and the tomato soup with goat cheese was fine. I also got the hot dog and have to admit the hot bun used was very good. This is a fantastic place for breakfast, brunch or lunch! I've eaten here on many of my visits to Chatham and have always enjoyed it. The food is consistently excellent, with large portions. Everything is always fresh and many ingredients are sourced locally. The Mediterranean options on the menu, or the more traditional American breakfast/lunch options, are all prepared well and are always tasty. The falafel is great (flavorful without being greasy) and the breakfast sandwiches, served on fluffy brioche bread are particularly excellent and always prepared perfectly! They have a takeout counter by the entrance of the store, where you can browse local beers, cheeses and baked goods for sale, as well as a sit-down section accessible toward the left of the main area. Service is friendly and welcoming in the sit-down area, and they are good about small stuff like refilling coffee and checking in. The homey ambience is lovely, too. read more

I was in Chatham over the weekend for my friend's wedding and came across this place for brunch. We made a reservation for 8 people and it was easy to get a table as soon as we walked in. Everything on the menu looked super delicious and fresh. I loved the idea of "farm to table" where the local farmers provide the ingredients for the restaurants nearby. I ordered falafel, Moroccan French fries with garlic and lemonade and everything wowed me that we went back to the same place for Sunday brunch. Too bad that Chatham is 3 hours away and I can't visit this place more often. My friends all loved their brunch as well and I'm confident that everything on the menu is good. The atmosphere here is super cozy and feels like you're dining at a friend's house. The mediterranean foods are a little heavy for breakfast, but still delicious. Soo I live in Manhattan. And this bakery has come to 14th street union square to sell these lovely gluten free products. My first encounter with a young man was me asking if it was cash only. He was abrupt and rude and seem to be to busy to care and even look at me with a quick response. I went to get cash and I decided it may be best to talk to another employee. Another man who said $4. I said I'll buy 2 scones he said $4. I was like ok and paid and was tying to talk about the appreciation I have for what they do for the gluten free community and he ignored me and didn't even look at me and crack a smile. So I get it they aren't people people. But I am trying to do local business/shopping. But I should of just got my scone at Starbucks. WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO THE 900 employees who I work with in the building outside the farmers market. I let my company know who is worth spending their hard earned money with. I drive by their bakery at night, look at the softly glowing windows, and start thinking about which fresh-baked treat I'm going to order with my eggs the next morning. When I'm sitting there at breakfast, devouring my eggs and fresh-baked whatever, I ask for the lunch menu to see which seasonal fruits they are featuring on the salad. And then at night, when ODB is closed and I'm driving home from some other restaurant, the whole process begins again. Yeah, it's kind of an addiction. If ODB sounds familiar, and you've never been to the historic little village of Chatham, then you've probably seen them at the Union Square Greenmarket, where venture capitalists and advertising executives like to pick up a few fresh loaves before schlepping out to the Hamptons. Union Square, Woodstock, Rye, Great Barrington -- ODB has been selling their baked goods all over the region since 1977, as well as supplying high-end restaurants like Jean-Georges. In other words, they're the real deal. They were country when country wasn't cool. At their comfortable little cafe on Chatham's Main Street, that kind of authenticity is evident in every bite. Plank flooring, simple molding and black-and-white photos give the place a farmhouse feel that's cozy in the winter, bright and cheerful in the summer. All the ingredients come from local farms, so the eggs, fruits and so forth are just as fresh as the muffins and tarts. If you're planning to sit down and order from the menu, be sure to stop on the way in to peruse the baked goods that are displayed up front. You won't find those on the menu -- there's just too much variety -- and it would be a shame to miss out on the very best part of the meal. Breakfast runs $5 to $7, and lunch usually costs me around $10 or $12. Portions are large, service is friendly, and the atmosphere is exactly what you'd hope for in the Hudson Valley. Stopped by on our way to berry picking, seeing a fully packed parking lot in a tiny town is usually a good sign. We had the chicken salad sandwich and spinach salad (w/ avocado - and they give you a LOT of avocado) - both plates were excellent. I am extremely impressed with this place! It's delicious! And they have yummy cheeses and breads and pastries to choose from. Right when I walked in, I was bombarded with so many delicious scents. :) I got a great breakfast sandwich and would definitely suggest it. They actually cook their eggs! They aren't frozen!
