Basically it was just a whole bag of shredded ice berg lettuce dumped out into a huge bowl, with one gray hard boiled egg and about 5 minuscule pieces of the bread from fried chicken. I ate the leftovers the next day just to find blue mold on the egg. Disgusting ... The food here is damn legit. Everyone should try, atleast once, the Pizza Burger. Their best-kept secret are their salads - they're some of the best (and biggest) salads you can get in the area! My favorite is their Shrimp Caesar, but a Valencia without blue cheese is a close second. I give them 4 of 5 stars because they're constantly having staffing issues. It's just what you get when you're a restaurant near LSU, and the pandemic and economy have really compounded that problem. I wouldn't hesitate to order to-go and just pick it up, but if you dine in and they are half-full expect to wait a bit. read more

I went back after a few years to try the boudin egg rolls after a review I saw on TikTok. I dined alone on a Saturday around 1pm. The place was pretty packed. I was seated at a cozy table for 2. The atmosphere inside was nice and family oriented. My Boudin egg rolls were delicious. It came with some type of green sauce that was really good!! I decided to give the burger another try. I went with the smaller size burger. This time I chose not to add grilled onions. I added pepper Jack cheese and no tomatoes. This burger was delicious! The perfect size for me. The sourdough bun was soft and sweet and this time it wasn't wet at all. My hamburger was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend, and I will definitely return. read more

Went here a couple months ago, but saved my review as a draft and forgot to post it... Clean, cute restaurant/bar. I've been here a few times and the food and drinks are generally pretty good! Food is just a little heavy/greasy, but still good. I've had their Buffalo Chicken Sandwich which was really good, but again, just really heavy. I've had the chili before which was also good (again, heavy though). This time I got the California Grilled Chicken Sandwich. It was really good, the sourdough bread was delicious, The chicken was cooked perfectly, bacon was perfectly crisp, but the avocado was very unappetizing. I've never had such a stringy, slimy, mushy avocado. Doesn't taste bad, but the texture was bad, I assume it was just improperly frozen maybe. But it kind of killed my appetite. I tried to take it off but it just fell apart into a stingy mushy avocado mess. Anyway, I managed to get off most of the avocado and the sandwich was still good. I was just a little disappointed bc a fresh avocado would've been wonderful on it. The rest of my party thought their Caprese Salad tasted just fine, but didn't care for it being served on a burger plate lined with paper. The fries were good too. The Spinach & Artichoke Dip couldn't have been a freshly made dip in my opinion, tasted pre-packaged. But the homemade potato chips that came with the dip were great!!! Loved those. The service was a little rocky. The staff were all nice and friendly as well as our waitress, but she messed up our order twice, forgot silverware, spilled salad dressing on one of us, and added incorrect items to our bill. She may have just been having an off night though. This could easily be a four star, I think. Maybe it depends on when you go. Still enjoyed some of the food though. Probably would've leaned closer towards a 4 star if there had been a fresh avocado on the chicken sandwich. read more

After not eating here in several years (it had a different name the last time), I have returned a few times over the past six months. My experiences have been notably disappointing each time. Well, with the exception of one group event here. I'll start there. We had a milestone celebration for a friend and were able to reserve the "party room." It was large enough for the group. We told them we were not going to sit and would likely be floating around the room. Our waitress was young and newer, but she was on point - she only confused one or two drinks throughout the evening. She was friendly and made some great food recommendations. That was a nice evening. My other experiences have led me away from going back. I visited with a friend one night, and the most notable thing we took away from the night was the fact that the entrance and certain areas of the restaurant had very strong smells of pot, like you couldn't not smell it. I thought maybe it was a patron in the store, but this happened the other two times i have been (including the group event). The smell nauseates me, so that put a damper on the experiences. One visit, we ordered the famed fried pickles, but they came out stuck together and a little slimy. I ordered a burger and it was vastly different than my experience in 2016 - it was definitely not fresh, it was pre-made patty that was dry and tasted less like meat and more like filler material. I had to ask if they had brought me a veggie burger or something because it was certainly not up to par. Our office also did an order from Our Mom's and I figured I would give them another shot, but that went poorly too - I got my order and everything was disheveled - everything was so dry on the burger that it had come apart and was all over the box. There wasn't enough ketchup in the world..... I'm not what has changed in the past few years, but I have eliminated Our Mom's from my radar, especially with the growing options on that side of town. read more

Wow... this was quite literally the worst customer service Ive experienced my entire 6 years I've been in Baton Rouge. Over the entire two hours that we spent here, our waitress never came back to refill waters or even to update us on the wait for the food which was over an hour... Just bad service all around. It was a Tuesday night and the restaurant was not busy at all. My friends and I waited at least 20 minutes for drinks and then more than an hour after ordering our food! And then even with the long wait, the fries were so cold!! The only plus is that my boudin burger was pretty good, but I can't say that it makes up for the horrible experience - definitely won't be back. read more

Honestly y'all, I feel like my capitalized poem above speaks for itself but if I must elaborate, Our Mom's has become one of my favorite burger places in Baton Rouge, and we eat a lot of burgers. The food is always fresh, the burgers juicy, and the green bean fries superior with their crunchy healthiness. Mostly? If green beans aren't your thing, you should still try the fries, but you should also get the sweet potato fries because they are also very tasty. As far as burgers go, it's hard for me to order anything other than the Jalapeño Ranch Burger, but the mushroom Swiss and the Blue Burger are also favorites. As long as you get the jalapeño cheese bun. Just trust me. If you're not in the mood for burgers, the California Chicken and the Rockin chicken (both with grilled chicken for me) are also great and worth trying. How have I never eaten here before?! I've heard about this place since it was open but I'm never around the area so I've never tried it. After my mom tried it finally I said that's it I'm going. Well worth it. The atmosphere/vibe is chill. The music is more geared toward college students as well as the price point for food. This would make sense as there is one near Southeastern as well. The boudin balls were delish. Not the best I've had but pretty solid. I had a wings and a side salad for my entree. Those wings were so good. Highly recommend. My husband enjoyed his jalapeño ranch burger. Overall with two drinks, an app, and two entrees it came out to right at 50. Not too bad. He pointed to a wall chalkboard with a list and no prices. I ordered a beer off the list and he asked if I'd like it in a pint glass or mug. I asked for a mug. We ordered the boudin balls as an appetizer, then ordered our meal. We ordered a roast beef poboy, a burger, a club sandwich and a shrimp poboy... nothing complex. After 30 minutes of waiting we still had not received our appetizer. Waiter finally shows back up with just our burgers and sandwiches... no appetizer and no fries with any of the orders. Just a burger/sandwich on a plate. Waited 10 more minutes as our food got cold for fries to show up. The appetizer showed up just as we were finishing our meals. Finally we're done with this ridiculous experience and the waiter brings the check. The beer in the mug turns out to be $20. nice surprise. He hands me a credit card reader and stands over me to monitor me as I sign it. Ordering a beer in a mug cost me $20 Appetizer shows up at dessert time Burger with Fries is actually a burger now and fries later A roast beef poboy is more like a piece of French loaf with 2 tablespoons or roast beef. This is my family's very first time here, but I can assure you it will not be our last! We enjoyed everything from the warm welcome at the door all the way to the friendly good-bye. We were immediately greeted by two friendly hostesses. We were quickly shown to our seats. They made sure we would be comfortable with our seats. I expressed that I have a little busy body and they suggested the perfect spot. Before she left us to get comfortable she made sure we were all set. Our waitress Savannah immediately came over and got us setup with drinks. She made sure to get our little guy's order along with the appetizer order! That really stood out to me. We enjoyed the Buffalo wings, Homemade Roast beef, Burgers, Chicken Tenders and Mac n Cheese. Everything and I do mean everything was made when ordered. It was so many good things crossing the table. The wings are perfectly cooked and not breaded just the way my family likes them. The burgers are obviously made from the best meat and well seasoned. The roast beef..... oh my!!!!! It's homemade... you can tell it was cooked with the gravy.. tender and well seasoned. The onion rings are thin and very crispy.. just perfect. Chicken tenders were from a nice cut from the breast. They have a wonderfully diverse hamburger menu from plain to pizza to PB&J burgers. There was something there to satisfy all palates. The portions are also very generous as I believe at least 1/2 of us brought home leftovers. We also started the meal with fried green beans and boudin balls. Both were delicious. OMG these burgers were enormous!! I asked my husband to buy us dinner and it was more like dinner that night and lunch the next day! They were juicy, delicious and very flavorful. It's not one of those burgers that one would describe as "all bark and no bite"... it's a big burger, packed with flavor! Even though we got our orders to go, we could tell everything was made with extra TLC. Whenever people ask where to get a good burger, that restaurant always comes up. Luckily, it is very close to home for us. Will I be back? Why yes, definitely!! Parking is easy and it's customer service is always great. I just left your establishment and was berated by Jermaine Gordon. He came to my table and chastised us for sharing drinks with someone who was "cut off" when we were never told anyone was cut off. When trying to explain his tone in talking to us was condescending and rude he proceeded to call all of us broke and say he gets paid to tell us we can no longer be served at HIS restaurant. He proceeded to tell us we could leave if we don't like how things run at HIS restaurant. His own manager and servers were confused on why he was talking to us in that manner as if he felt he needed to "put us in our place". We were the only black people in the restaurant and felt embarrassed and humiliated. Please advise on what can be done to fix this issue as black people should feel comfortable enough to come to your establishment. read more
