Although this onion seemed smaller than it has been in the past, it was still very good! I also ordered the quesadilla and the loaded mashed potatoes. Decided to give this place one more try after not being there in five years. Horrible. They did not even send out some of our food. Offered our appetizer after our steaks came out??? I received an email from outback yesterday that let me know I am able to get their largest sirloin steak as a deal. The one day only deals do happen from time to time. I was nearby at Raymour and Flannigans furniture emporium and decided to take them up on the deal. Large franchised restaurant chain which I have eaten at before but it's been longer than five years. Quiet midday lunch crowd I was alone so sat at the bar. The bartender Mike was helpful and knowledgeable about the sirloin steak deal. We're off to a good start! The dish came out quickly and hot the sweet potato was just fine cooked to a soft as a mashed potatoes dish in it's own very tender skin. The broccoli was firm not undercooked and the steak was beefy in taste and sirloin in chewiness. It wasn't tough but my teeth had a good workout. We visited Outback Steakhouse on Niagara Falls Blvd on May 5th 2025 (happy cinco de mayo!). As we pulled into the parking lot, we thought, oh no, they're closed. There were fences and visible construction in progress. But, god was on our side and they were open! we were greeted by Grace, the hostess. Since I was a little kid I've had a soft place in my heart for the Outback Steakhouse. When I was little I used to visit one in Southington, CT and order the kids chicken finger meal, but as an adult I've evolved into eating the steak. We were seated in the bar area so we wouldn't have to wait for a booth and the wait staff was friendly and quick throughout our stay. I ordered some of the kukabura chicken wings for an appetizer and the sirloin for my main course with French fries and mashed potatoes on the side. I absolutely loved the wings and whatever they put on them is killer, great unique taste. The steak was made rare and it was very enjoyable. I would definitely say that Outback is the best of the chain restaurant steaks (maybe second to Longhorn). The French fries were decent, though nothing I would ever need to order and the mashed potatoes get a big thumbs up in my book, soft and flavourful in there own way. Overall, the Outback Steakhouse is good for what they are. The prices are fair, the staff is friendly, and the food is really, really good for what it is. One of my favorite nicer chain restaurants! They have excellent appetizers, my all time favorite are the cheese fries. Covered in cheese and bacon, the fries are crispy and warm, and then homemade ranch dressing to dip them in. Best cheese fries I've had! Obviously they're known for their steaks, and there's a good reason. The meat is juicy and cooked exactly how you like. There is a excellent seasoning on top and potions fill you up. The entree comes with two sides too. I highly recommend getting a salad. It is refreshing and crisp with plenty of ingredients and croutons that have a slightly spicy hint. Baked potatoes are also delicious and huge. They will give it to you loaded or just plain butter. By the end of your meal, you're nice and full! Our waitress was fantastic, funny, and attentive. I generally haven't been very impressed with Outback Steakhouses I've eaten at in other states. Though I still think my husband grills a superior rib-eye, I was very happy with our meal tonight and he was enamored with his steak, potatoes and asparagus. My sons and mother in law were similarly pleased with their food. I had a Sugarplum Martini off the seasonal menu. It's vodka, elder flower, amaretto, pomegranate and "red mix." With a name like sugar plum, I thought it might be overly sweet, but it was very rich and well balanced. Plus it was a lovely deep shade of purple and garnished with gum drops, a wonderful mix of adult pleasures and childish delight. Servers came around with generous samples of the blooming onion and their Aussie cheese fries. I've never experienced that in a chain restaurant before. Cheese fries aren't the most elegant dish, but if you're a fan like me, theirs is the best. I think it's the spicy ranch that makes it. I wish I'd ordered that as my meal though my coconut shrimp and garlic herb Parmesan fries were pretty good. I almost never order steak at restaurants (an exception being the Hawaiian ribeyes at Houston's in Arizona) but I enjoyed the few bites I tried of his. Definitely better than steaks I've had at other outbacks. At an hour and a half, our meal seemed to last overly long but if you're the kind of person who hates feeling rushed, that may be appreciated. Our server was fine and the floor manager was attentive. It's probably more of a 3 1/2 star kind of place but I'm rounding up due to everyone else's overall enjoyment.
