I kind of love Outback Steakhouse. I know it's a HUGE chain and there's a billion locations and there's no real way for them to connect to locals in a, "look how we're celebrating the city of Arlington" kind of way, but hey. Sometimes you want a big fat steak without having to pay a big fat price for it, and as far as my experience goes, Outback consistently provides a great meal at an affordable price. At this particular location, I've never had to wait too long for a table. Maybe 20 minutes tops on a super busy Saturday night, but I don't usually come with a big party and I'm a patient person. If you can't handle a wait, then call ahead or go away. Having to wait means that other people like this restaurant and got there before you, duh. If the restaurant is totally empty and you're waiting for no good reason, well then go on and complain because that's weird. Outback has a great gluten free menu! There are several options, not just a couple of boring ones, and they clearly explain which salad dressings and sides are safe to eat. On my last visit I ordered the "Filet and Lobster Tail" with 2 sides - a Caesar salad sans croutons and a baked potato with everything on it. Outback always does a fine job of cooking my steak to order (medium-rare) and my lobster tail was velvety and fresh (I mean, it at least tasted fresh!). The baked potato wasn't the best potato I've ever had, but I feel like baked potatoes at restaurants are never remarkable. It didn't have that microwaved feeling or taste, so however they're keeping them hot and ready to eat, I approve! And my salad was crunchy and flavorful. A tad too much dressing but I've come to expect that with Caesar salads. I have to remember to start asking for dressing on the side. Of course, Outback's "Chocolate Thunder from Down Under" is a legit dessert for us gluten free folk, and anyone else for that matter. But the GF people almost never get a dessert option like this! FIRST AND LAST TIME.... My friend wanted to go eat somewhere so she picked Outback I said cool I never been there before. They have really good deals right now also on Wednesday. I got one of the deal they were advertising my steak was wrong not once but twice and just wasn't good. The manager was great she changed the steak out the first time I sent it back and the second I sent it back. Over all the steak just wasn't good, but the potato soup was really good and I'm not a soup person but that was delicious. Big disappointment in the food this time. Hubby and I, with two friends went on a weeknight evening and still had to wait for a table. Started with the bread and a blooming onion. Those were good, as usual, but the bread was not very warm and tasted slightly stale/dry. I ordered the French onion soup and house salad. The soup tasted store-bought, not like I remembered. The salads are much smaller now, served in a white bowl, which is a far cry from the old way of serving it in an ice-cold bowl. Salad dressing was average and very skimpy. Hubby ordered the salmon and shrimp, with asparagus (which cost an extra buck) and he said the food was very average. No great flavones or spice combinations here. Friends each had the outback special, in 6 and 8 ounce sizes. They reported them to be tough and chewy, without any appreciable steak flavor. Each of their entrees came with two sides, but beware, several of their salads and sides now carry a buck up charge. Service was great, with frequent checking back and no empty drinks. The meal overall disappointed all of us, so I doubt any of us will return. The one thing I used to love about The Outback was their consistently a over-average execution of their entire menu, regardless of the location of the restaurant. Never had any issues with this Outback Steakhouse. Good and attentive service. Food is always served hot and as I ordered. Love their bread too! Their strawberry mango margarita is strong (tequila is served in a little attached cup on the side) but not much of the mango flavor. The strawberry daiquiri is good too and served in a bigger cup (presumably 8 oz glass cup) not sure why. The margarita is served in a 4 oz glass cup. I always order the chicken fried chicken with extra cream gravy and mashed potatoes. All are great! My only complaint is their chicken steaks/patties are on the smaller side, in comparison to Texas Roadhouse and Bone Daddy's chicken fried chicken plates which have bigger chicken steaks/patties at a lesser price. read more

To start, my wife and and requested an open booth for our disabled son, we were told they were reserved for large parties (it was 11:00 am on a Saturday morning with maybe a hand full of tables having customers). The waitress NEVER came to my table. I sat there for 10-15 minutes...the host noticed that I had not been served and he (the host) brought me water. I asked him if he would take my order and he did. He also brought me bread and butter. My waitress looked at me and turned around...never greeted me or said one word. After about 10-15 minutes I got up, went to the Host stand and gave him (the host) $5 and walked out. Based on the date and time of my visit, maybe management can figure out who that waitress was. **My visit was Thursday, October 3, 2019 around 12:30pm. I wish I would have gotten the waitress's name. I wanted to take a moment to voice some serious concerns and feedback about the way we were treated at one of your establishments. The location in question is 1151 W Interstate 20, Arlington, TX 76017. On March 9th, we went online and signed up to get put on the waiting list for 630pm. We arrived at 530 in hopes of possibly sitting down earlier. We had a part of 6. We were there for my mother-in-law's 74th birthday and she chose to have her birthday dinner at Outback. We had a couple of drinks while we waited. Let me also start off by saying the bartenders were excellent, had great customer service, and were extremely courteous. After waiting about 45 mins, my wife walked up just to make sure we weren't forgotten as we kept seeing tables of 5-6 people being sat. Since we weren't sitting right at the front door, it seemed to have been overlooked. At 630, I walked up to ask the young man behind the podium how long it could be and advised it was a birthday dinner and anything he could do would be greatly appreciated. Another 15-20 minutes go by, and at this point, it is 6:50pm. Another guest walked up to ask what was going on as we continued to see guests come in and be sat relatively quickly. There was an older lady in a green shirt at the podium at this point and she took a very nasty attitude. She said she can't make people get up so we can sit down. So we waited a bit more. At this point, we had been waiting 2 hours to be seated. My wife went back up to stress the fact we had signed up early, arrived an hour early and still hadn't been sat. We come to find out this was actually the manager at the podium. The manager then aggressively told my wife once again, I CAN'T MAKE PEOPLE GET UP SO YOU CAN SIT DOWN!. To which my wife replied, we aren't asking you to make people get up, we just want you to stop sitting other people down in front of us. At this point, I could tell the vindictive manager had no intention of seating us. I asked the bartender, who is the manager and he pointed at the extremely rude lady at the podium. I told him we've been here 2 hours and she's extremely rude. He said, yes, to be honest, this happens frequently and you aren't the first to complain about her. At this point, we stood up to leave and would have exited quietly except for the fact the manager made it a point to facetiously say in a condescending loud tone "HAVE A GOOD NIGHT!" to each of the 6 guests in our party. This was totally uncalled for and was seriously just adding insult to the terrible service already provided. I will be completely honest. I have never seen my wife lose her cool throughout our entire marriage, but she literally told the manager FU on our way out. For this manager to make my wife respond in a manner totally uncharacteristic to her behavior is a testament to the extremely poor and lacking customer service skills this lady had. She has no business leading any sort of customer service and you could easily tell the staff all agreed. I come from a customer service background and feedback is a gift. If you are unaware of this type abhorrent behavior in your establishment, you have no way to correct it and possibly prevent other customers from being subjected to it. read more

Good food and fast service, I got the sirloin steak and my girlfriend got the chicken and shrimp pasta. The steak was wonderfully cooked whilst the past was quite heavy on the herbs, it tasted as they added too much either parsley or green onion so the pasta was sub par. She absolutely loved the Mac and cheese and of course our appetizer, the half order of cheese fries was amazing. The server was fast and communicated well, however I had ordered the garlic and herb butter with my steak and he failed to hear me in that so I did not enjoy my steak with the topping. The steak alone was a little bland, of course what to expect from the cheapest steak they offer :) but it was a excellent choice for a date night and we might consider coming back for the other options that are available. My wife and I met and had our first date at Outback on S Florida Ave in Lakeland 8 years ago. So with current conditions as they are we ordered take out. A few weeks ago. They got the order wrong completely. Somehow my wife got shrimp and not chicken and doesn't eat shrimp. The receipt on the BAG had the correct order so I didn't check plus it was already 20 minutes. We gave them the benefit of the doubt again keeping in kind current conditions and again ordered take out. We were given a time to arrive 7-27pn. We got a text that our order would be ready in a few minutes at 7-25 so I left as it's only 5 minutes away. I pulled up. Gave my bank card to the guy. Didn't see him for 15 minutes. Then my bank card came back with the $70 tab for two people and the food arrived 15 minutes after THAT Got home. The fries were stale and cold so either used from earlier or had sat there a while. My rib eye was cold and WELL DONE even though I ordered medium rare. The shrimp I had were good. But that was it. We very much doubt we will return to Outback again and will recommend for our friends not to also as we know many people that have a LOT of choices in Lakeland read more

I love me a good outback and this place has been my OG outback for quite some time now. I am extremely disappointed and flabbergasted at the quality that the restaurant declined. We always order take out and the time is always close to when they tell us. I got a steak it was cooked perfectly. The lobster tail that came with it was the one from Steve Irwin's zoo and they cooked it there and sent it to America. The biggest issue was no melting butter. Just disrespectful. Then we got the mashed potatoes. Let me tell you absolutely atrocious. It tasted like a female cows tant. I almost puked it tasted like rotten milk. First time for me to call and set up a reservation for 3 people today for 5:30 Pm. we got there 10 minutes before and were told it would be a 20 minute wait. then they told us they don't take reservations, just call ahead for seating. My exact words were: "can I make a reservation for 3 people for today at 530" answer: "sure what's the name and phone number" no mention that this was not a "reservation". After 30 minutes we were seated and sat with our menus waiting for 10-12 minutes and when a waiter finally came by, he went to 2 tables that had been seated after us, in fact he had to go by our table to get to another table first. Being a long time loyal Outback customer it pains me to write a review like this. There was a time pre-Covid where me and my family members would frequent an Outback at least 50 - 60 times a year. Within the last 18 months, the service, and quality of the product, has become totally unacceptable, and that's putting it mildly. Just today, we stopped in the Middletown, NY, Outback for lunch. The staff was badly undermaned, the soup was cold, the salad was not brought out as ordered, the sirloin steak needed a hacksaw, not a knife to cut, the onion soup looked like broth, with no melted cheese and they wanted to charge us an additional $6.99, etc. When I asked our server about the poor service/quality of the product he stated, ''They have a new service model in place and its just not working satisfactorily.'' Finally, upon paying the bill we were advised ''The Rewards Program was not accessible, there was a nationwide problem and we could not submit our rewards number for credit.'' When I requested what I could do about this visit, I was advised, ''I don't know, maybe go on line and surf the Outback site for a remedy.'' That's the best I got, guys, the ball is in your court! We had a little issue with a certain third-party delivery service not delivering our food the night we ordered here. After two hours of waiting, we called the restaurant and they told us the delivery person decided he didn't have time to bring us our food but never called to let us know. We had ordered for the entire family, so over $100 worth of food. Once I contacted the restaurant to see what happened, they were SO helpful in making it right. They remade all our food so it would be fresh and apologized. The manager even spoke to me to make sure I was happy. And we finally did get to enjoy our food. Awesome service from this restaurant. It had been years since we have eaten at an Outback Steakhouse. We were feeling a bit adventurous so we decided to try it again. This location is clean and staff is friendly. Decided on the filet with a shrimp topping, broccoli and cheese and salad. I was blown away when I tasted my steak. It was one of the best steaks I have eaten. It was seasoned and cooked to perfection and the shrimp was the icing on the cake. The broccoli and cheese was surprising good. Since my first visit have been back 3 times and each time have been impressed. I honestly have not had anything that was not excellent! Came for a somewhat late dinner with my husband and was seated and ordered a vodka cucumber lemonade that was on the drink menu. It took over 6-8 minutes before it was brought to me on what seemed a very slowww shift. By the time I got my drink I could tell it had been sitting for quite sometime. But my food came out within the next few minutes as well to the point where i had to take the soup to go. When my steak came out the Mash potatoes weren't even on the plate with the steak and the bacon my husband added to his pasta didnt come out with it either. My steak was almost cold by the time I got my side . I also had asked the server if there were any veggies on the Pasta because my husband dislikes onions and any vegetables in general and his pasta had chives. We were hungry and didnt wanna bother wasting more time to complain on yet another mistake. Considering she seemed young and probably new I made no hassle but still I dont go out often I work at a restaurant myself nearby and I would at least like my drink to taste good. Ordering from outback on door dash because I have a weak immune system and cannot go out right now.... WORST DECISION EVER!!!!!!! My steak was completely inedible. I have to chew on one piece for five to ten minutes and then I had to spit it out because of all the tendon in it. I ordered honey butter for the sweet potato and did not get it. My husband ordered honey butter brown sugar and cinnamon and didn't get it. My broccoli was overcooked and mushy. I am super disappointed. More than disappointed. If not for the nice staff and service, it would be lower. So we had a party of about 12-14. Came on a weekday around 2:45 at a slow time. The three ladies on each side of me ordered steaks - medium, medium well, and medium rare. All three came out completely rare, raw to be honest. A manager, I believe, walked out one that was sent back and told her to cut it open, she did, it was rare as could be but not bleeding, which made me think frozen inside. Anyhow, she was like - uh, still very rare and the manager argued with her and said it's based on the outside temperature they measure and instead of looking at it she needed to eat it and feel it if is hot enough, that's how to know it is cooked. I about fell over. You can sear the outside of a steak but that doesn't make it cooked, it's based on the inside temperature. A bright red steak, not pink, isn't well done just because it tastes hot. Literally the dumbest thing I ever heard. I just really couldn't believe what I heard - from a steakhouse manager at that. Another lady beside me had a Caesar salad. She didn't eat it and I don't blame her, it was more than wilted - more like brown and oozing. She said, I've never had this bad an experience with a Caesar. I would agree. The blooming onions all sat there, not eaten, over salted and greasy. Tasted quite nasty honestly, the few pieces people pulled off were left on their appetizer plates, so basically you could almost put them all, whole thing back together and barely missed a piece. The bread, one loaf was delivered at one end of the table (again, over 12 people) and halfway through after asking a second loaf was delivered. I didn't quite feel like a heavy steak so I tried the steak tacos. On the flip side, they were like burnt, old steak ends. I kinda imagined nice little steak strips - ug, no. Literally tiny, crisped to black color, little bits of meat that were chewy and hard. Disgusting honestly. Should've tried a frozen rare steak. One redeeming factor, evidently the table next to ours was several "regional managers" and they sent over a free fondue dip dessert. That was actually decent though the portions could be better thought out. Anyhow, don't like to complain, I put this out there because I hope they read this and realize what a horrible product and training they are putting out. Our waitress was most amazing and sweet as can be though, only reason I can give more than a star. I had a taste for the outback style prime rib. I ordered it medium well with extra seasoning. Unfortunately when it was served it was hard as a rock, well, well done. The waitress asked if I wanted another one but I changed to the salmon with shrimp on top. I asked for no mushrooms so after waiting over 15 minutes while my relatives ate it came out with nothing on top. She thought that's what I said. So she went back and then stated that the sauce was pre-made, so I told her I'd pick out the mushrooms. By the time my salmon came back and sauce my husband/relatives were all done so I boxed it up. Luckily they ordered dessert, so I ate it out of the box. It was a little cold but good. Overall, this was very disappointing experience, as I looked forward to that prime rib (which is always good). Absolute horrible customer service. Walked into take away. The young lady working there was on her phone looks up at me and goes back to scrolling through her phone. As I'm standing 2 different people from the kitchen area walked out saw that I was standing there and went back to the kitchen. After standing there about 10 minutes the young lady on her phone gets up and walks pass me giving me a half smile. Never says anything at all and goes to the kitchen.
