Food- after 20 years of not coming to outback because of the lack of quality and food I decided to try again with my kid. We only came in for the appetizer, the Bloomin Onion. We were met by a waiter who seemed like he would rather be 100 other places, but here. Very lackluster and no happiness in his tone.. there was but maybe a few people in the restaurant and it still took us 15 minutes to get our drinks. Once we received our order that blooming onion even look depressed. The sauce was watered down and not what I remembered when I came here last.. Food and drink was a 4/10 Service was a 2/10- do I blame the weight or when he is probably getting less tips than it cost him to get here and gas. I still left him a 20% tip even though the service wasn't the greatest. Ambiance- honestly, I have seen more life at a funeral parlor. I don't know what happened to the outback steakhouse of my youth, but it is gone and what has replaced. It is some knock off Temu version that closely resembles one of the lower end tear of steakhouses like a Chili's or TGI Fridays. PS- I think the outback could reinvigorate themselves in re-energize with a new ownership group that takes pride in their food and their customers too. Came here with some family from out of town. My husband and I had bought a bunch of family members gift cards for Christmas due to the incentive they gave of $10 to use. (It's not a gift card and you can only use one at a time and there's a deadline to use before mid-February). My Cesar salad has brown pieces of lettuce that made me lose my appetite for the salad. Then my Toowoomba steak came way too uncooked. Luckily there was no issue sending it back to get cooked a bit more. My husband had been craving a steak for a good while and we were finally able to get to an Outback Steakhouse (we had a gift card). He used to work at an Outback and so he can be picky about how people serve him at one. We sat at a booth in the bar since we were on a bit of a time crunch and the bar was pretty empty. It was a great choice because our server, the bartender, was great! He was welcoming, helpful, and quick. We wanted drinks...BAM! Drinks appeared. I wanted my salad for my lunch special out before my meal...DONE! He was on top of it. He even knew we wanted more bread before we even had to ask and gave us some to go. The meal was delicious and the service was great, but why 4 stars? well, the women's bathroom was awful. The first stall didn't work, the second stall had no toilet paper, the third stall had toilet paper, but no lock...and then the last one had everything right. I felt like Goldilocks in there. It shouldn't be a hard choice into what stall I go into...everything should be stocked and ready, especially with how slow it was in there. read more

We stopped in on Saturday night for a bday dinner for my son turning 23. My kids each ordered steaks (NY strip and Ribeye) and I (who was still full from a late lunch) had a salad and baked potato. Our server was friendly, but a bit distracted and we didn't see or hear from him for long stretches. Our food was slow to come out but the restaurant was busy so I'm sure the kitchen was trying to keep up. I think our favorite thing served wee the loaded baked potatoes. First, I really enjoy going to Outback because you can place a call ahead to reserve a spot! It's a great feature especially when you have a large party. The service was really good and the food was quick. We enjoyed the blooming onion and we had plenty of food to take home! Ordered a steak salad medium well. The steak was overcooked and the lettuce, carrots, were not fresh at all with clumps of inedible hard pieces. Sent salad back. It had been almost five years since my last visit to this Outback Steakhouse. We had a gift card, so we gave it another try. This time, my experience was much better than before. First of all, our server, Brooke, was fantastic. Super friendly, helpful, patient, and efficient. I was there with my 93-year-old dad, and neither one of us was hungry for a steak, so my dad had the pork chops and I had the shrimp. They both turned out to be excellent choices. I had some of his pork chops and it was freakin' great. I think it's better than the steaks. My dad still can't stop talking about how good they were...and you get two of them!! $21.49 and it comes with your choice of two sides. Plenty of food. I had the grilled shrimp entree. $25.49. Comes with 16 shrimp and a choice of two sides. Very tasty, but I think the pork chops are the way to go. I'm happy we gave this place another chance. My only complaint is the entry doors are very heavy. My elderly dad had very limited mobility and it was really difficult to navigate the doors. I wish they'd do something about it...even an automatic door option handicap switch would be super helpful. Speaking of the elderly, you get 10% off your meal with your AARP card! You ever find some old gift cards and wonder have I used these? I called the number on the back of the cards but the bot said the card numbers were invalid. Since it was an automated bot I was determined to check for myself. Well, when I got to the restaurant I needed the cards checked since I knew these cards were from 2017 or earlier. My server, Brooke ran the cards and when she gave me the balances I knew I was in really good shape. I quickly ordered the 22oz Melbourne Porterhouse medium rare with broccoli and a house salad. The steak was definitely the biggest cut on the menu, which matched my attitude-- go big or go home. When it arrived I wasn't sure I could finish it but Brooke had faith. Who am I disappoint? The filet side of the porterhouse was very delicious and cut without effort. The NY side also cut fairly easy. There is always some carving involved with a cut this big, but it was definitely delicious. The broccoli and salad were also tasty. The bread was warm and perfect. The servers all seemed to be smiling and enjoying themselves. The music was an interesting mix of country and Justin Bieberesque type hits. It was not overwhelming and I only noticed it twice. There are plenty of TVs in the bar area if you need to watch a game and throw back some drinks. If not, get your conversation on, stare into each other's eyes, and whisper sweet nothings by choosing dining room seating. The dining room lends itself to family eating, couples, solo flyers, and casual dress. I waffled back and forth but finally deducted a star since the interior and restrooms were dated, but so am I, so it didn't bother me; however, it might feel meh to a hipster. This restaurant has gone so far downhill since I was here last. The only good tasting this from this meal was the bloomin onion. For our main dishes we got the bone in ribeye and the bloomin chicken sandwich. The steak was nothing but fat and had barely any meat on it. The sandwich had absolutely no flavor and was just terrible. The piece of chicken was so thin and was nothing but breading. The sauce that came with the bloomin onion was really good though. Also as a warning they charge $4 for adding mushrooms and another $4 for onions so $8 for adding both to a steak. This is why Texas Roadhouse will always reign supreme for me because they don't charge for those additions. Our server was nice and did check on us several times. My family and I are pretty big fans of Outback Steakhouse. We came here on a random weekday evening for a late dinner and we were seated immediately. Our server was wonderful and patient with us. She communicated well while balancing multiple tables. The food itself was good as always. We tried the chocolate cake per our servers recommendation and it hit the spot. I personally enjoy the darker setting of this place but I do feel that the lamps over the table are just too close to eye level. We arrived at around 5:30p, on a Saturday, so we were expecting the place to be pretty busy. Once inside it was moderately busy, but plenty of open tables. We were sat quickly, no wait. After a few minutes, we began to wonder who our server was going to be... we saw several standing around, or chit chatting... after ten minutes of not even being acknowledged... we decided to leave. As we were walking out the server chased us down and said they were just about to take our order. At that point our mind was made up to just leave. Managers... you need to do better. Have conversations with your waitstaff. If someone is drowning, you should be helping each other, even a manager. A simple acknowledgment of a table and possibly getting a drink order started will keep folks at a table much longer. This will at least help a team member out. read more

I haven't been to Outback in years so I thought it would be nice to eat here again. Walking in we were happily greeted by the hostess and were sat immediately. Social distancing was in place and felt clean and safe. The waiter was quick and to the point and we had a little mix up with the check, but it was taken care of quickly. The downside is really the food and price. The food isn't all that great and the portion sizes are small. Considering the prices are a little higher than average, you would think there would be more food.
