I enjoy Outback in cities all over the US, if the BG location was my 1st OB experience this chain would have been cancelled in my mind forever. I hope corporate takes notice and hires people who understand how to communicate with customers, stupid isn't a strong enough description! What went wrong the same experience as all the other negative reviews, great food but horrible staff, and the dumbest reservation policy in the world, only designed to get you in under false pretense and then hope you wait instead choosing one of the other amazing restaurants nearby. Over all the steak and burger we got tasted good but the service and the portions of the food was terrible it was my fiancé first time ever eating here he was able to actually count how many fries he had on his plate. the server took my order and never went and put it in until my fiancé placed his order, my fiance told him to go ahead and do my order since he didn't know what to get since it was his first time ever being at this place. The server could've been a lot better towards us and actually tried explaining the menu and selling the stuff he was serving I think that wouldve helped my fiancé pick something more better. read more

My husband had the sirloin their signature steak and their mac and cheese wirh asparagus which he liked. I had the small fillet with lobster tail, steamed veggies and sweet potato which was all perfect. We ordered the blooming shrimp appetizer which we did not like. It was very greasy and at $14 a disappointment. We asked the server to take it away and he asked if we wanted it boxed. We said no because we didn't like it as it was too salty and greasy. He took it away but i was surprised he didn't take it off the bill. We only took one bite each . The meal (with waters for drinks) with the appetizer that we didn't eat was $81. Seriously, pick someplace else. The food was fine, it's Outback. Service was TERRIBLE. We had a reservation. They didn't seat us until 30 minutes after our reservation time. Showed us to our table where there was food debris and water on the floor which they only cleaned up after we asked. Then we had to ask again because one of the chairs was wet, not damp, wet. They left dirty plates in front of us only some of which were removed and only because we asked. Other dirty plates weren't removed until the next course was sitting on a tray waiting to be delivered and then they didn't bring out one of the plates until asked. We were a bit apprehensive after reading the reviews for this Outback location. We arrived just before 5 PM on a Monday night. We were greeted promptly and seated immediately. Our server Paige was very friendly. She took our drink order and when she came back, she took her food order. We ordered the prime rib and shrimp on the Barbie entree. We were served warm bread and our salad on time. When we received our entrée, the steak was cooked. Perfectly medium. The steak and shrimp per season perfectly. OK I haven't been to an outback steakhouse for probably 10 years or so. We decided to try this one. I gave it four stars because the food was absolutely delicious but let me tell you about our night. First, it's not a real easy place to find where they put it you sort of got to drive down a side road and then almost into a hotel parking lot before you see it. we walked in and we're seated immediately given menus and then for about five minutes and nobody came around us. We saw a table next to us that had two people waiting on it and finally the waitress doing that table looked at us and said has anyone been over to your table yet? And I said no. My husband had said two more minutes and we're walking out. Our waitress came over and told us her name and said that she was going to take care of us and took a drink order. I got a rum punch, my husband got a large beer and my daughter got a Coke zero. She wanted to get the shark drink but the girl said they were out of the sharks anyways and if it was non-alcoholic, it wouldn't taste so well so she decided to just have Coke zero. We ordered a Bloomin onion now the last time I had a bloomin onion at outback it was this huge onion -what we got was greasy onion petals- they were tasty, but they were probably the size of your fist which is a normal size onion not the onions we were used to at the outback's we used to go to. after we got our drinks in our Bloomin onion, our meals came I think everything was spaced out pretty well. It wasn't like a whole bunch of food was brought out all at once so that was nice. My daughter ordered a ribeye the 15 ounce one I ordered the 12 ounce prime rib and my husband ordered a chicken burger. I have to say all the food was delicious and cooked to perfection. My rum punch was so good. I ordered a second one that my husband had to drink. The waitress came by and asked if we wanted another drink and checked on us. All in all we had a really good time it will probably return. I'd like to go there on a date night with my husband to just have some drinks. What really struck me was outback steakhouse in Syracuse New York it's sort of exotic, looking compared to the outback steakhouse here which look like a glorified Denny's.?? But it was clean, I didn't really appreciate the guys who washed the dishes walking around they looked sort of messy and unkempt and we're walking in and out of the kitchen and walking around the bar area?? This was my first time here! & it only took me to travel outside my home state to try it lol. It's almost like a famous dinner chain spot and yummy. We started with their famous blooming' onion. Like an open faced onion that was fried and comes with a spicy zesty mayo sauce. Not entirely like onion rings but really yummy. I not a fan of onions but I've been open to them. Yes they still do have their own flavors, idc what ppl say about them. But maybe bc it's was fried it tasted yummy. We got a side of barbecue sauce which paired really well. The bbq sauce was like no other barbecue sauce. I got the sirloin and shrimp combo. Medium cooked and grilled shrimp, with a baked potatoe - loaded bc it was free - and a Cesar Salad. It was a mouthful for $21 & I think it was worth it. Everything well done. The potatoe was awesome. He had the 1/2 baby back ribs and fries, also a classic and signature for Outback. Stopped in to get a steak and some veggies for dinner. They had a special going on for $17-20 on 4 course meals that looked pretty good. The cheesesteak burger also sounded great as well. Um...so I don't know how this location has only 3 stars. I had one of the best meals there that I've ever had last week. Sure, it's a chain. You pretty much know what you're getting yourself into if you've been to another one. But although I have eaten at plenty of other Outbacks before, I have never had such a great meal. It was so good I just have to share! We arrived and were told it would be a 25-30 minute wait. No big deal; we got there around dinnertime, so this was expected. When our time was up (25 minutes on the dot) we were seated by the host at the front, and we remarked how cold it was in the restaurant. We only made one or two comments while putting our jackets back on, and he asked us, "Wait, is it really that cold in here?" When we said yes, he told us he would see if he could do something about it. He must have been able to turn the thermostat down, because the rest of the evening was delightful! Ok, now for the meal: I had the blackberry sangria, and it was one of the best sangrias I've ever tried! Then came the bread, fresh and as great-tasting as always. Then I had the caesar salad. I should have probably ordered the dressing on the side because there was so much of it. I like a lighter amount of dressing on salads. But hey, that's my bad, not theirs! Then they brought out the main courses, and OH! I ordered a medium-cooked filet mignon with mashed potatoes on the side. I could've cut that filet with just my fork! It was perfectly pink in the middle and melted in my mouth. I thought the chef just got lucky and cooked the world's most delectable piece of steak by accident, but my mom's filet was the exact same! Neither of us could believe how delicious it was. My only complaint throughout the entire meal was that the mashed potatoes were a little unseasoned. Very, very disappointed. Treated with disrespect and even felt threatened. My Sons came up behind me and had my back. Reservation handled poorly. The shift manager was rude, confrontational and even threatening. We had a 6 PM reservation for 22. Had called and made the reservation two days prior. Called today to confirm reservation and was told we were good. Got there and was told it would be another 15-20 minutes. Ok but disappointed. Then 45 minutes later, was told it would be another 25 minutes. When we questioned why we were so late, the hostess said they were short staffed. Then we asked why everyone (and I mean everyone) that came in after us was getting seated and not us, she just walked away. Then the manager came out and literally walked up to me, got really close to me and proceeded to tell me that we could just take our business elsewhere and that he did not have to serve us. Holy smokes....where did that come from. I then asked him why, after having a reservation for two days and even calling in at 11:30 AM today to confirm everything was OK that people just walking in were getting seated and not us. He said what do you expect us to do and then he changed his story and said we don't even take reservations. I said then you should have told that to us two days ago and or today at 11:30 AM when I did the follow-up call. Anyway, we spoke a little more, he said he would give us free appetizers and I said that was not necessary. We waited another 20 minutes and they continued to seat people as they came in before seating us. Sooo, I called Red Lobster and they said they would be glad to have us. Our group went to that restaurant and had a pleasant and delicious meal. Upper management....if available, and I hope it is, please review this incident. Provide additional training or something. I truly don't believe this is how you want issues like this handled. Both parties had missteps, but to get up into someone's face to the point that my Son's were coming up to have my back??? By the way, while we were at Red Lobster, my oldest son called this outback and made a reservation for 25 that would arrive in 15 minutes. Hummm, either the manager does not realize his restaurant is taking reservations or his employees need to be retrained! Either way, review the tape. There are opportunities for improvement. Stopped in for a quick lunch & so far it's been great. Service was on point but the sweet tea was on the bland side. We ordered a blooming onion for appetizer & came out very hot! My wife asked for a salad & a blooming onion burger for her meal. Myself I ordered the 12oz ribeye, broccoli & cheese along with real mashed potatoes. Our meal came out fairly prompt & was hot & delicious! The steak was a fine medium & I was impressed with the juiciness & taste. Waiter was very attentive & gave us a good overall experience. The Outback Bowling Green is very good. The staff and management are excellent, to say the least. I was in on business and I believe it was New Years Day 2022. I just started my lunch and a tornado dropped not far from us. Prior to that hitting, the bartender advised me of the emergency plan. Shortly thereafter, the manager/owner Alton McLean yelled for us to clear the room. I followed the staff into the cooler, the storm passed. Hint: always follow the staff in an emergency. The tornado hit not far from us, but I was so impressed on two fronts. Number one, Mr. McLean's commitment to his customers and staff's safety. He had been monitoring the situation while we were all enjoying ourselves inside. Two, I got to see behind "the curtain." The cooler.......... it was spotless. It was organized and really clean. This one was Gordon Ramsey clean, and he would have approved. A tornado dropped near us and I was focused on how clean the cooler was. Strange, I know, but in times of stress it was a nice deviation from what was going on outside and of what may have happened to us. However, my lunch was cold because I had to abandon it for my own safety. Management took care of me, but I had totally lost my appetite anyway. Food: the sirloin steak use to be good and moist. We order to go often during pandemic lock down. Now it's dry. I felt like my family was eating beef jerky. I was embarrassed because I was the one that changed my 16 year old daughter mind about where to eat steak at. I picked outback because we usually have good steak there. Me and my wife got sirloin with shrimp. Her was 6 oz and my was 8 oz. My daughter was ribeye 12 oz. My wife laughed as she struggle to chew the dry sirloin. We dipped in steak sauce in hoping to add some moisture to the steak. I'm sorry I don't see how so many people can pile up at the door for such dry tasting sirloin. Now you can't say I'm just picking the steak, my 6 year old daughter got chicken and fruit bowl. Her chicken was dry same as the steak. My wife refuse to try the chicken cause she can see it dry without the need to try it. Service: our server was okay, we only had issue at the end when we requested for to go box. We asked 3-4 server for it and after 30 minute I walked to the front desk and he got us one finally. You wonder why we didn't complain to the manager. We assume they change their way of cooking steak and chicken because we all had dry steak and chicken. I felt bad for my 16 year old daughter as she struggle to finish her ribeye. We were visiting the area with family and while looking for a place to have dinner it was suggested that we go to Outback and have some Blooming Onions. Who can resist them? It was a busy Saturday night so we put our name in early for a table of 6 and when we arrived we were shown to our tables in a very short time. Our server, Christina, came over and took our order for drinks and the famous Blooming Onions. She was back in no time to take our orders. I ordered the Pork Chop W/loaded mashed potatoes, sautéed mushrooms and a tossed salad. I arrived fresh, hot, delicious and cooked just the way I wanted it. It was outstanding. My wife ordered the loaded potato soup and a toasted salad which were both huge, fresh, delicious and more than she could eat. We all had the house wine in a generous 9oz. pour that was really good. The rest of the family all enjoyed various kinds and cut of steaks that were cooked exactly the way they ordered them. So everyone was very satisfied with everything. The service provided by Christina was excellent and she went our of her way to make sure we got good service. If you are in the area and want a good meal this is a very nice place.
