New York Strip* 12 oz. Seasoned Rice Loaded Mashed Potatoes
    Robert R.

I ordered a new york steak with loaded mashed potatoes and seasoned rice. Every thing on my plate was cooked to perfection. The sear on my steak and the seasoning was point medium on the inside and juicy. Chef Ramsay would approve. Waiters would check in often including the manager. Will definitely continue coming here.

    Outback ribeye

Stopped by for ribeye steak and blooming onions. It's been a few years so wanted to try it out again! Same favorites are still there. You can order appetizers and drinks from the tableside tablet but be careful you may accidentally pay for games (server was able to remove). Blooming onion was a little salty. Steak was a little salty on the crust but the au jus and horseradish helped. It does get quite busy! We came at the tail end of happy hour and was seated immediately; once we finished our meal there was a line out the door! Staff was pleasant and helpful.

Came in for a quick drink around 10pm. Bartender poured a strong skinny b*ch. In and out in 20 mins.

    Grilled chicken lunch special
    Chris R.

I came for the lunch special. It was pretty small. The piece of chicken was kind of dry. Lot's of mashed potatoes. The service was fine. It wasn't necissarily the value for the price once the small portion is seen. The Martini was well made. I sat a the bar and there were two televisions playing sports.

this potatsoup alone is woth the visit . next time no bacon cheese 4 me. it doesn't need it but good tho

Their potato soup alone is a reason to keep going back. Although I wish they would give you more potatoes in the soup because a bowl is $10 should not just be all liquid. They have a good lunch special for 15 bucks you get a very tiny piece of steak taste delicious though and a side and of course they're warm bread. I don't mind the portion of the steak because I have to cut back on my food sizes. So it's perfect for me but for other people I would assume they would be disappointed in that size. Again the food is good though and I'm not complaining.

    Caesar salad with salmon
    Rae C.

Celebrated my sister's birthday lunch and had the best experience! From the customer service to the delicious variety of dishes, we couldn't have chosen a better place. Although Outback if a franchise, I'd chose here over any of the overpriced privately owned restaurants in LA county. We ordered the Aussie cheese fries, wings, Caesar salad and steak with a side of mashed potatoes. We cleared every plate and had definitely got our money's worth. Thanks again for making my sister's birthday so special!

They do have parking behind the building which seems to fill pretty quickly if they're busy, but it's easy to find parking around the neighborhood. I am not usually in the tavern scene so I was surprised that we had to order and pay at the bar, but it wasn't a big issue. My friend and I split the kale caesar salad and the macaroni and cheese. For the table, I ordered the waffle fries after being informed by the kind waitress that that was the better choice over the pretzel (which she also said was amazing). Since the place was filling up for the final, the kitchen was a bit slow, but we barely noticed with how attentive the staff were in getting us drinks and refills. When it came to food, we were pleasantly surprised with this place and is honestly the reason I'm writing this review. The first things we got were the Beef Tallow Waffle Fries, Caesar Salad, and mac and cheese. Obviously the fries were much better, however the salad was also divine but just swimming in dressing. Back to the fries, we all were mindblown with how tavern fries could be this good and had so many flavors. Even the skinny queens in our group kept snacking on them which tells you how good these were. Mac and cheese came and it was standard and creamy but not necessarily something I'd return for. The surprising thing on top of the fries that majority of us loved was the Vegan Tomato Scampi with shrimp. It was fire and had me questioning if it was even Vegan. Would definitely return here if I find my way back to SoCal from the Bay. Great unassuming place with great food and vibes. Their bathroom as well is super clean and nice! Love this place!

It was like stepping back in time. Once we entered, we let the host know about our reservation, and we were sat in one of their iconic dining booths within 10 minutes, which wasn't too bad of a wait. It was quite busy and understandable as it was a Saturday night. The ambience was dark and romantic, and not pretentious at all. The prices were also quite affordable, which was really nice. Especially if you're on a budget. However, the food was average in my opinion. I would say, it was great for the price, but it wasn't high quality. The service was great. Prompt and attentive. Overall, I would come back here for the ambiance. Not so much for the food. They have live jazz music on the weekends, so it would be fun to come back for that.

You could see the teamwork between the servers and support staff throughout the restaurant. Everyone we interacted with was polite, friendly, attentive, and professional, even though the restaurant was incredibly busy. I also wanted to give special recognition to a manager/supervisor working during brunch. I unfortunately didn't catch his name, but he was wearing a flat/newsboy-style cap, so hopefully the restaurant knows who I'm referring to. We happened to witness him dealing with a particularly demanding guest who was extremely unhappy with where his party for three had been seated. The guest repeatedly complained about having made a reservation and wanting to sit in a different, quieter section, and became increasingly loud and upset with the manager. What impressed us was how incredibly calm, patient, and professional the manager remained throughout the entire interaction. He never became defensive or matched the guest's tone. He simply continued trying to resolve the situation and de-escalate it while keeping things comfortable for everyone around them. The restaurant was PACKED for Sunday brunch, including a full waiting area, and many of us had reservations.. our party included. There are only so many tables and sections available in a busy restaurant, and a reservation can't always guarantee one particular table or area. I thought this manager handled a very difficult situation exceptionally well and deserved recognition for it. I know how difficult it can be to maintain that level of composure when someone is directing their frustration at you. He handled himself beautifully. Wonderful food, wonderful service, great teamwork, and a staff that clearly knows how to take care of its guests. We had a fantastic brunch and will absolutely be back!

First of all, we requested outdoor seating which was perfect for a warm summer afternoon. We moved tables to one right on the edge that had a perfect view of the setting sun. He went the extra mile to make sure our experience was fabulous! I'd come back just to get seated at his table again! We started with the Crispy Brussels Sprouts which had just the right amount of crunch and tanginess. My friends shared the Ahi Tuna Tartare and said it was delicious. For mains, we split the Dry Aged Ribeye and the Wild Mushroom Pappardelle Pasta and had the Garlic Truffle Fries and the Four Cheese Mac 'n' Cheese as sides. Our favorite was the Wild Mushroom Pappardelle. I'd go back and just order that with a protein. Of course we also had a few drinks. My friend ordered the Belle which was an experience in itself. My other friend got a mocktail and I got a strawberry lemon drop! There are so many other items on the menu so I will, no doubt, be making a return trip soon!

The valet parking area was a bit cramped, and the valet staff who greeted us was somewhat gruff. While waiting for the reception to start, my friends and I hung out at the bar/restaurant area. We sat at a booth with a view. The view wasn't very clear that day, but it was still nice. The décor in both the restaurant/bar and reception areas was contemporary and attractive. The ladies room was clean. Service was cordial, starting with the hostess and our waiter. Our reception was held in a separate event area. The schedule started with cocktails from 5-6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6 p.m. The cocktail hour was held outdoors on a terrace with some umbrellas. Unfortunately, it was extremely hot--around 90-95 degrees. The bartenders seemed a little cranky, but I couldn't blame them. They were working outside in that heat and wearing black. What was notable, though, was that the two glasses of Chardonnay I had--poured from two separate bottles--both tasted good. So, kudos to the bartenders for keeping the wines, or at least the Chardonnay, at the proper temperature! Luckily, the staff serving the food were cordial and pleasant. Kudos to them! The food served during cocktail hour was quite tasty. There was chicken, lumpia (fried egg rolls), and goat cheese served on small pieces of toasted bread. And that wasn't all -- we also had lechon, a whole roasted pig! When dinner started, we moved inside to the event room. The room itself was fairly basic, but the service continued to be good. Kudos to the staff there as well. Dinner started with Caesar Salad, followed by a choice of main course. I had the Salmon, which was quite tasty. The other option was a combination of Shrimp and Steak, which most people seemed to order. The gentleman sitting next to me barely touched his meal, and when his partner asked why, he said the steak was tough. However, I didn't hear any similar complaints from anyone else. One thing worth mentioning for anyone considering Castaway for an event: our reception included several dance presentations, but there was no private room available for the dancers to change costumes. They had to change in the hallway leading to the restrooms. There was a door separating that hallway from the main event room, but I still felt bad for them. It didn't rain on their parade, though -- they were happy and enthusiastic about their performances. Kudos to them, too! So, just an FYI if you're planning an event here that includes dance performances or other entertainment requiring costume changes. The ladies room was clean as well. Our hosts validated our valet parking, which was much appreciated. When we picked up our car later that evening, the valet attendant was pleasant. Maybe it helped that it was already dark and the temperature had dropped to around 85 degrees! P.S. Looks like Castaway was doing very good business that day (or maybe they always do!). There were a lot of people in the bar/restaurant area, and there were several other events going on besides ours.

We ordered the Philly and Pastrami to split and share. We dined in which was among a few small tables situated between the shelves of well-lit and visually clean bottles of liquor. Service was friendly but nothing memorable. After about 10 minutes, both sandwiches were brought to our table. They were hot and came on toasted rolls. Not really sure what bread specifically but seemed a bit like French rolls. Crunch crusts with soft middles which helped to cradle the fillings and absorb the delicious meat juices. The pastrami was great and not overly salty. It had a great zing from the crunchy pickles and mustard. The Philly was nice and gooey. The beef had great texture and was dripping with flavor (literally). Both were very good but I personally liked the pastrami better. If you like meat though, neither will disappoint. We will be back to try the other sandwiches. The only down side to our visit was buying sodas at the store. Their prices weren't listed and in my head, I expected them to be $3 or so. The Mexican Coke and small bottle of lemonade were each $6. $20 for a sandwich isn't cheap, but it price didn't make me gag--but I almost physically gagged when i saw soda prices ring up. Next time, we'll get our sandwiches to go and get drinks elsewhere.

This place is ridiculously good. The Wagyu cheesesteak and pastrami are phenomenal -- like, "I…read moreprobably didn't need to eat the whole thing, but here we are" good. They also make fresh hand rolls in the store, because apparently being amazing at sandwiches wasn't enough. And the owner is awesome. Super friendly, genuinely nice guy who makes you want to support the place even more. Definitely worth checking out. Just don't blame me when you start craving that Wagyu cheesesteak.

This was the first wedding dinner they've ever hosted, and they made us feel like they had been doing it for years. From the moment we started planning, the owners welcomed every idea with genuine enthusiasm. They worked with our florist, created a custom printed menu just for our guests, and transformed the private dining room into an elegant, candlelit space that felt warm, romantic, and effortlessly beautiful. The food deserves its own standing ovation. Chef Jose's philosophy is simple: let exceptional ingredients speak for themselves. His recipes use minimal oil, allowing every herb, vegetable, seafood, and cut of meat to shine with its natural flavor. Every course was beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared, and our guests couldn't stop talking about how incredible everything tasted. Seeing how Palma's team poured their heart into such an important evening made it even more meaningful. If you're looking for a restaurant that offers exceptional food, heartfelt hospitality, and a team that truly cares about creating something special, Palma Ristorante is a place you'll remember long after the meal is over. Thank you to everyone at Palma for giving us a wedding dinner that was even more beautiful than we imagined. We'll always be grateful.

Olive Garden has more authentic Italian food than this establishment…read more If my nonna's nonna could see what this restaurant calls Italian food, she'd be rolling in her grave. The pasta was cooked to floppy noodles, the sauce was boiled over and broken, and the pizza tasted like they baked the cardboard box and forgot the sauce. The steaks were ordered medium-rare and medium. Both came out well done, dry, and completely unseasoned. The seafood tasted like it went straight from the freezer to the plate. The service was just as bad. Drinks came out one at a time, with one showing up after we had already finished eating. The space is nicely decorated but that does not justify the void of food quality and technique. The only things worth eating were the pound cake and cannoli. This wasn't Italian food. It was an Italian food h¥te crime.

Came by during dineLA to celebrate an early birthday!…read more The dineLA menu is pretty good selection and filling. We shared the steak & pork chop entree, Wagyu meatball and shrimp appetizer, corn and shoestring fries sides and butter cake for dessert. Plus an extra lava cake for celebration! We put in reservations and saw there were lots of openings day of, but when we arrived it was pretty packed. It's a large space much like their sister restaurant Taisho with many booth tables, a large open bar area and an outdoors patio seating. Be aware there is a 3% surcharge.

Ambiance: Modern with dark tones (some parts of the restaurant are dark), leather chairs, emerald-colored booths. It's definitely stylish, classy with a mix of intimacy; there's some good energy here. The square shaped bar is stylish with marbled counter and chair stool seating; there's a couple TVs within view sitting in this section. There's also the main dining room as well as a partially covered patio. Good music. I've sat in the bar as well as the main dining room and find them both enjoyable. Service: Service has always been great the times I have been with everyone being professional, friendly and addressing needs easily from ownership, management, and all staff members. Food: A good mix of starters, fresh seafood, salads, steaks of course, various side dishes, and some other entrees. A few of my favorites include the wagyu meatball steak tartare jumbo shrimp cocktail chopped salad 6 oz petit filet 32 oz porterhouse mashed potato mac & cheese The steaks I've ordered have been cooked well to my liking and the meats have always been tender and seasoned well. The wagyu meatball is very tender with good flavor, the vodka sauce is not overpowering. Love the chopped salad with the red wine vinaigrette and the crunch from the crispy chickpeas. Mashed potatoes are creamy and very good. The jumbo shrimp cocktail is great and comes with three shrimps served with lemon, mustard aioli and cocktail sauce. Drinks: Great classic and off-menu cocktails, a couple beers, a couple non-alcoholic cocktails/mocktails, champagne and a wonderfully curated wine list. My ultimate favorite is the BLVD martini made with gin. It automatically comes with a half-filled side shaker effectively giving you an extra pour for a great value and experience. Happy hour: 5-6pm in the bar only, featuring some discounted cocktails and foods (from the main menu but with the addition of a burger) Parking: There is valet parking available (currently at $15). There is street metered parking as well on Ventura Blvd. Prices: Comparable to other steak house establishments. drinks: cocktails $19-26, wines (glass) $14-40, starters: $6-48 (the main ones are in mid to high $20's), seafood: $29-mp, salads: $19-20, sauces/butters/toppers $2-28, sides:$15-42 (the main ones are in the $15/16 range), steaks: $62-198, other entrees/favorites: $32-56, happy hour: expect to find cocktails at $12-19, wines/champagne $12-59, food $8-87) in the bar only 5-6pm Fun Facts: -Their sister restaurants are Taisho and Casita which you can find within a few blocks -BLVD Steak opened up a second location in Calabasas in 2026
