Ordered Prime rib. Steak was so tough you couldn't not cut into it. Returned the steak and should have just left but I got a filet so salty and covered in spice it was almost uneatable. Speaking of salt the baked potato was coved in sea salt. Just way too much salt. Outback what are you trying to cover up with the salt? Also ordered a soup, even before I could finish the soup the prime rib was there. Why can't I finish my appetizer before my meal comes out. It's been probably fifteen years since I've been to an Outback Steakhouse and not a lot has changed. I will say that my visit tonight with in-house counsel's family exceeded my very low expectations. Was my med rare steak more like medium? Yes. Did we wait longer than expected for everything? Yes. Were there mistakes made? Sure. But in the end, I did get a reasonably priced cut of meat with fresh horseradish on the side. While I'm not racing back, I am upgrading them from a "won't go" to a "does not recommend." I love the Outback and eat at this location 2-3 times a month. I would like to say I had great food today but I never received it. Arrived at 1:50 pm...greeted at 2:00 AFTER I ask the bartender if I am going to be waited on. The waitress told me "oh, I thought you were a regular of his." When she did greet me at 2:00, I ordered my food and my water with limes. I received a water with a lemon. 2:15..no salad, no food. I asked about my salad and the server's response was "well, my other table doesn't have their salads either." SO at this point, I have been there for 25 mins and have had a water. I travel about 20 weeks a year and guess a little spoiled and critical eating on a card. The steak was a little tough to be a fillet. My co worker ordered the steak mahi and quail. Call me a glutton for punishment I guess. My son and his wife were visiting and we decided to go to Outback even after I swore I would never go back. We were seated right away. That's what the one star is for. After that everyone who came in after us were served drinks, appetizers etc and we were still waiting for our server to ask us what we wanted to drink. We were staying at the Embassy Suites 2 driveways over from this Outback and decided we were in the mood for steak and shrimp. Hostess asked us table or booth, of course we chose the booth. Got seated in between two sections and apparently they didn't bother to tell out waiter that his section just got bigger. They then proceeded to seat another group the same size also with kids in the section next to us. 30 minutes came and went with no drinks and the manager conveniently check on tables around us and avoided eye contact. We were back in town, so we returned to Outback. Unfortunately, it's gone downhill even more. My rating remains the same, at 3-star. I ordered a T-Bone ($27.49) medium rare with extra seasoning and steamed broccoli. My son ordered the cheesesteak plus a salad. There was a pretty long wait for the entrees to come out. My steak was overcooked (between medium well and well done). I sent it back (and they took the broccoli with it). My son finished his meal before my replacement steak came out and my drink was empty. The steak was cooked properly (except without the extra seasoning, but I wasn't going to spend more time for that). The broccoli was essentially raw. The waiter was busy with other tables and wasn't around very much. He sent the manager over when I was about half finished with my steak (about 20 minutes after I had originally let him know it was overcooked). I told the manager about the broccoli and he went to have more made. I was done with my steak before the broccoli came out. I never got a refill on my drink. The server brought our ticket. Nothing had been adjusted, and to top it off, we were overcharged on my son's salad. He took off the $1 overcharge, but then I couldn't use a Dining Rewards coupon because the ticket was "discounted". A dinner that normally takes 30-45 minutes (we visit Outbacks 50-100 times a year) took over 90 minutes. I filled out the online survey. The next day, I got a call back from the owner. She apologized for the problems and told us that if we came back in she would give us a gift card for our inconvenience. She told us to ask for her when we came in and she would make sure everything was right. So we went back in a couple days later. We let the hostess know and she said it would be best to let her know we were there after we were seated. So we waited for a table. After we were seated and placed our order (we each got a steak this time), I let the waiter know that we were supposed to talk with the owner. He was familiar with the situation and said she would be out in a bit. He hadn't said anything to that point, so we had assumed the message hadn't been passed on. He told us that our entire meal would be free, which was more than we expected. She did come out, covered in grease and flour. She was working in the kitchen and was very brief with us. Our steaks were both overcooked and my steak didn't have the requested extra seasoning. Because they were comping the meal, and because it wasn't as overcooked as before, we went ahead and ate them as they were. Based on the first meal, I would have given a 2-star. Based on the manager's (lack of) resolution, I might have dropped it to 1-star. Based on the owner's response, I might have raised it to 4-star. But based on the consistent overcooking (3 steaks on 2 nights, all overcooked), I really can't go higher than 3-star. So to me, these two experiences net out to a 3-star. I feel like the issues here are mainly management issues. It sounds like they're short-staffed on kitchen management (otherwise, why would the owner be back there helping and focusing there) and while the front management was very active (and I recognized one manager from previous visits), they seem a bit weak. The owner is obviously very committed to turning things around, but the owner can only do so much without good management to handle a lot of the details. read more

Loved the service and today we had the fortunate opportunity to try the coconut shrimp for free because the Iowa Hawkeyes won the Outback bowl!!!! Go Hawkeyes!!! The lobster was steamed to perfection and the shrimp were also done well. The crab cakes were moist and full of crab. The steak in the salad was delicious and prepared as ordered. The waitress was attentive and offered her knowledge on the dishes. We appreciate this. The French fries were well done but slightly salty. The sautéed mushrooms were perfect as well in a wine reduction sauce, which we love if you like wine. These are a perfect accompaniment to any dish, especially steak. We are regulars at outback for the past 35 years. Today was my birthday with my family and as my sister and I were servers for years during college and my bf being a restaurant manager we understand certain situations. Kristiana was absolutely the worst. Yes, servers have bad nights, but this was like she didn't want to be there. Was on something or just never served. It was careless mistakes. Ruined my whole birthday. No refills. Got our orders wrong not once. Not twice but three times. Didn't check on us. Didn't even say thank you or ask if we needed anything. She was struggling with her other table to where another server had to start and help with another table. There was only 5 of us. Worst experience I've ever had. The manager did help towards the end.
