I got the $17 special 6 ounce steak, baked potato and salad. The steak was so tough. It was edible. I couldn't even cut it with a steak knife, let alone chew it up. I ate the baked potato and the salad were fine, but the steak was left on my plate. I hadn't been there in years. I thought I'd give it another try I knew something had to be able to get a 6 ounce steak for $17 and the steaks on the other page were like $45 I think that's why you sell them so cheap on that is because they're terrible steaks. Dawsonville Outback has some delicious menu options. We had great service and the manager Shawn visited our table to make sure everything was prepared to our satisfaction. The restaurant was quiet the Thursday evening we dined and it wasn't very crowded. They also had a party of about 20 celebrating a family dinner but this location was still peaceful and accommodating. Keep up the great job Outback staff. read more

The service was great! The food - not so much. Husband's steak tasted like it was pan fried with not much flavor. Our bloomin' onion was almost burnt and incredibly greasy. Not appealing at all. Certainly not the way Outback used to do them. Our salads were mediocre. Not much effort put into them. I got the coconut prawn and was so excited to get them, but they were overwhelmingly greasy. The sauce that came with them was great, but the crust on the shrimp was so greasy, it just fell off. We were very disappointed! We went because I wanted prime rib, but that's only served Fri. thru Sun. I don't think we will ever go back. Longhorn's doesn't have prime rib, but it has NEVER disappointed us - ever! read more

$$ Visiting the Outback Steakhouse here in Dawsonville, Georgia with my sister AnnMarie. Although our steaks were cooked to perfection, the salad had a lot to be desired as a portion of the lettuce was brown and not edible. They did have a good deal on a meal that included salad, an entrée, and a piece of cheesecake for dessert, which we took advantage of... Our server, Hunter, was very nice and took good care of us. The ambience was like any other Outback, or any food chain restaurant interior... Big, square, with many tables and booths. I don't usually expect much from an Outback but oh my gosh..Right walking in I felt at ease the vibe was great and the lighting made everything nice and cozy especially for an Outback. The service was very nice our waiter came and checked on us almost every minute and he made our experience even more fun! He gave us suggestions and even cracked jokes with us. I didn't know how to expect my food to come out because sometimes it's a hit or a miss but this did not miss. It was my first time trying the Parmesan creamed corn and I will not be the same it was phenomenal!! I can't eat corn a different way I scrapped the bottom, I also love my mignon it was cooked to the exact temperature I wanted and it melted in my mouth. The ribs my mother had gotten were extremely delicious and fell right off the bone. This Outback is definitely my favorite go to if you want something not as expensive and are looking for a good experience! Good job you guys are nailing it here. read more

Great fast service. The Oiy Oyi Oiy combo was a great meal for a great value. The restaurant was fairy quiet for a Saturday early evening so there was hardly a wait for our food. Our server Hunter was excellent and very attentive to our requests and took the time to check in on us multiple times. My only two negative comments were with my salad as it had a few mealy pieces of lettuce near the middle. Stopped in after the Mac Powell concert at FOCAL for dinner. We were seated quickly and had a nice table for two. Our waitress was Sydney and she did a very good job of taking care of us. Wife had the Blackberry Martini and thoroughly enjoyed it. She also had the Victoria's Barrel-Cut 6OZ Filet along with the salad and Mashed Potatoes. Steak was cooked perfectly and to her liking, salads we both had looked very fresh and hand made. Her mashed potatoes were wonderful. I ordered the Ribeye and Shrimp, Steak and Mates combo. Steak was cooked just right and very tasty, not a lot of seasoning on the steak which was great. I ordered Aussie fries with no salt. the fries did not arrive with the meal, before I could say anything the manager, Lee/Leigh, was there explaining that the fries were overcooked and she was having a new batch made. They came out halfway through the meal and were spot on. Glad to see the manager is working all around the restaurant and pro active and not just waiting for things to happen then responding. Our waitress came bye a few times but never too refill my drink during the whole meal. This restaurant is doing the right thing and it was a nice atmosphere as we enjoyed our dinner. We could hear ourselves talk the whole time during dinner with out raising our voices. This is the second delivery order in a row that has been unacceptable, and as a result, we will not be ordering from this location again. I paid $125 for this order, and the quality was completely unacceptable. I ordered the 15oz ribeye cooked medium, but it was served rare and burnt on the outside, making it completely inedible. The New York strip was also undercooked and burnt on the outside. The Bloomin' Onion was saturated in grease and not edible. In addition, we only received two of the three salads we paid for, and all of the sides were cold. The fries were cold, hard, and tasted old, as if they had been sitting for an extended period of time. This experience was extremely disappointing and did not reflect the standard we expected from Outback. read more

We arrived excited for a steak and a drink! But when we sat at the bar our service decided otherwise. We "started with waters "per the recommendation of the bartender. Sure. There was no other mention of drinks after, kind of our fault but we did feel rushed to order for some reason. When ordering our steaks I like them medium, but have had bad luck when asking for medium and them arriving over cooked. I mentioned this to the waitress, who recommended "I just ask for medium rare, that way we can cook it a bit longer if needed" I agreed that was a fair compromise. As it turned out, medium rare actually medium rare and this one was too red for me. I asked to be cooked a bit more, and they finished it up nice. No big deal, but still a bummer. I tried to eat my potato but that was very dry. I waited till the manager delivered my steak back to me to ask for more butter, and he brought me back the smallest tab of butter I have gotten in my life. Pitiful really. All the while our server, the "bartender" was busy, looking busy. Wiping stuff down, stocking things and other things, that I agree a good employee does, but she missed the main part of her job, to help wait on the customers. My ice water that I received right when I got there was empty for the last half of my meal. My buddy also said his steak lacked "good flavor profile" lol but I thought it wasn't badly seasoned. He also got the steakhouse Mac-and-cheese, that he ate 3 bites and tossed the rest... terrible compared to Longhorn across the highway. If the server takes advice and pays more attention to her customers, she will be fine, I believe she could be a good server. We came here today with our 10 and 11 year old. We ordered the cheese fries, steaks, Alice Springs Chicken, and sodas. The waitress was so attentive and polite. Our food wait was reasonable and the flavor and temperature was perfect. They did not disappoint on the steak temperature and all three steaks were cooked as requested. We came in today for the first time to give this Outback a try since they just opened and we weren't disappointed! First of all, you have to appreciate the appearance. The building is very modern for Outback and the interior is just as impressive. They have beautiful murals, a well stocked bar area, and a great layout. The half circle booths are wonderful with children, so that was a big plus for us! We started with an appetizer of the Bloomin shrimp. I typically really enjoy the Bloomin onion and their grilled shrimp, but when paired together it is VERY salty. The shrimp were cooked well however, so asking for a cup of ranch did the trick and we were able to enjoy them after that! I personally got the 6oz lunch sirloin with a baked potato for $12.99. The pricing was very fair for what I got, the steak was cooked to perfection, and the potato was excellent. I would definitely recommend and I would go back just for this! My spouse got the Bloomin burger with a side of fries and he really enjoyed it also. It was cooked to his liking and the specifications he asked for on it were executed properly. The only reason I'm giving four stars is because of the service. Our waitress wasn't very attentive, we had a hard time trying to get her attention across the room, and when you're eating salty food, drink refills are a big thing for us. We're definitely going to give it another go in the near future, but for now we would absolutely recommend a trip to your new local Outback! read more

Just an awful experience from beginning to end. My New York Strip Steak was abysmal--sinewy and inedible. My wife's entree was just as bad. My Old Fashioned was a sugary mess. Had dinner with my wife and daughter and it was not good! They both had the grilled salmon and they said it was fine, not great. My daughter's Caesar salad was bad and she couldn't eat it. I had the Kingsland pasta with beef and shrimp. They declared the Alfredo sauce bold and it was practically tasteless and the beef was not in medallion form for ease of eating and it was grisly. I eventually packed it up for the dog. The shrimp was okay. It's definitely cleaner than most outbacks! The host was sweet and greeted us. We order good amounts of food, and we are quick to eat and leave while tipping well. Our server named Shelby had a rude attitude from the start. She was having an attitude every time she came to our table, banging plates down and not saying a word.
