Steak, pasta, sweet potato, something cheesy

My boys love Outback but honestly I think they served me the best steak so far of all the other locations we've been to! We were in town for a tournament and needed a place close to the field and happy we stopped here. We absolutely love the staff here, very attentive, and the waitress checked on us often to make sure we had refills, etc! We arrived after 9 and left maybe around 930, so the food came out quickly! There was a gentleman that may have been the manager, he also stopped by to make sure we were ok, saw him when we checked in as well. My kids said, "hey mom! The managers never ever did that at the one by our house!" Haha kids, cute but observant little things!:) I'm terrible with names but we had the best waitress!

I don't know who's yelling was cooking Ribeyes on July 29th around 2:35, but who ever it was, thank you . My steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. My food got here fast and was still hot. It's sometimes hit or miss with my steak but today was definitely a hit!

Listen here - the food and the experience here was so good. What stole the show was the WEDGE SALAD. This was probably the most fresh salad I've ever had. All of the food was delicious and the waitress was so nice and welcoming. I've tried to find a salad that compares but I haven't been able to find it!! Also the shrimp were amazing. My family and I had a great time.

    House salad

This place has been at this location for over 20 years! That being said the food is mediocre! It came hot to the table however the one cold item was a big disappointment! The house salad!!! If all things it came with French dressing! I only saw a drizzle of French dressing on the salad. Picture shows what little dressing there is. The baby back ribs were good in flavor but they were crispy and the bbq sauce needed some more flavor! It tasted so ordinary. It could have been like the jack daniels rib sauce that they have at tgif. It would have tasted a lot better. Maybe if they used some apple crown Royal in the bbq sauce ! The salad was to arrive first but it arrived last! The baked sweet potato was perfectly cooked. It was soft and fluffy. My server Samantha was friendly and knew the new menu items. The appetizer the blooming onion was fried to perfection but it needed a bit of salt. The sauce that came with it needed to be maybe a bit spicy. It seemed to be needing some more flavor! The place was clean and did not smell bad! That is a big plus! The new drink item was a Kaola which was a white rum coconut pina drink which was the bargain at$8 dollars all day! I had one that was very sweet and needed more alcohol but what do you expect for 8 dollars! I would have to have had 4 to have an effect on my equilibrium! They probably could have been ordered with a shot of rum! If I wanted to be "lit"! They were playing country music which I enjoy so that was nice! Dinner was acceptable tonight but still not remarkable! Nice location to go for a night out when you do not want to cook! Happy to dine out! Enjoy your Saturday night's out!

NEW Bone-In Ribeye* with Bourbon Onion

As if I wasn't already a huge fan of this place , they've added something new to the menu that really has me scrapping up Pennie's and wanting to visit frequently. When I tell you that I've been to this location more than once in one week , it's embarrassing.. I mean great for the business, but horrible for me because with inflation, who can afford to eat bone in ribeyes multiple times in a week? NOT ME !! They added a new item to the menu which I hope and pray that it becomes a permanent addition, the new 18 oz Bone in ribeye with bourbon caramelized onions, it IS absolutely LIFE !!!!! Something about this particular steak has me hooked . It's so tender and juicy. The way the onions are cooked I could and would easily eat/enjoy the onions as a side dish. Anxiety these days doesn't allow me to comfortably eat meals in busy settings, so I got my meals to go. Service was quick , fast and friendly. Ordering online there are something's that you can't add or subtract, so I called the store before heading to them to make adjustments/additions and they did so easily and with so extra charge. Young lady working the Togo area was really sweet and patient. You could easily see that she was busy but she handled herself very well . My oldest ordered the surf and turf with fried and said it was the best grilled shrimp she's had . My youngest daughter got a bacon cheese burger and she too was pleased. We will be back real soon'n

We invited a couple for dinner to celebrate their wedding we weren't able to attend. They are foodies, so we thought to try something different. The bread that looked amazing tasted like cardboard. The Hummus was terrible, and we are pretty snobby in the Mediterranean department. The Cesar Salad was good. Then the food came out. The seabass had to be sent back once, the second time our friend just dealt with it. I had the rack of lamb, which I get often. Awful flavor and strange celery mix underneath. The guys got Cowboy Ribeyes. My husband ate his because he hadn't eaten all day. He said, he couldn't make a better steak. Our friend had ONE BITE and didn't touch it after that. They bagged it up for him, and he left it behind. A $78 steak, not even touched. The mashed potatoes were great actually. Brussel Sprouts were the worst I've ever tasted. I think the poor server saw we weren't enjoying dinner and brought us out a complimentary chocolate tart, said to celebrate their married couple. It too was not good. Most everything was left half eaten or barely touched. I've never felt like I just threw $500 in the trash can, as I did last night. The food looked good (as shown in the pictures below, but don't be fooled) Complete disappointment. I say this as someone who worked for a restaurant group of high end restaurants for many years.

We started with the fried pickles (a must-have!), and for our main, we split the Salmon Oscar. Without us even asking, the kitchen thoughtfully divided the meal and brought it out on two separate plates. The dish came with fried asparagus that was absolutely top-notch--honestly so good that I'm going to have to try replicating it at home--and those incredibly creamy mashed potatoes. It was such a small, attentive gesture by the staff to split the plates, but it made our dining experience so seamless and enjoyable. The bread was nice and soft and it was just an overall good sandwich. The response after the first bite: "clock it" Steak and shrimp 8/10: the cut of steak was odd but it was cooked how I requested. The shrimp was also good - think they're frozen but no biggie, I still enjoyed them. The only thing I didn't care for were the shoe string sweet potato fries. For sides, I chose the mac and cheese, cornbread, tallow fries, and Brussels sprouts. This is the kind of meal you remember for a while. The Wagyu tomahawk ribeye was the star of the table. Tender, flavorful, and packed with that rich beefy taste you'd expect from a steak of that caliber. The garlic stuffed filet was incredibly tender and added another layer of flavor, while the New York strip had a great texture and a perfect mesquite grilled finish. The Gulf shrimp were cooked well and added a nice contrast to all the steak. Smoky, juicy, and full of flavor. The sides were excellent across the board. The mac and cheese was creamy and rich, the cornbread was warm and comforting, the tallow fries were crispy and addictive, and the Brussels sprouts provided a nice balance to the feast. The restaurant itself has a true Texas atmosphere with a rustic upscale feel. Service was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel special. This wasn't just dinner. Not a true "Japanese wagyu" texture, but still an excellent steak overall. - Sides (mashed potatoes, fries, broccolini, cornbread): All pretty good across the board. I liked the cornbread the most and wished there was more of it. Usually a side of cornbread is much more substantial and comes with honey butter. - Steak sauce: we ask for a side of this. Whatever they had was unique and great. Fruity and tangy, a great complement to the tomahawk. - Pecan Pie: look at the photo! A huge, tall slice. No notes. Loved the dense ice cream on top. What an experience. I dined at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse for my first dinner after landing in Dallas…read moreand it set an impossibly high bar for the rest of my meals during my Dallas trip. The food and service here is absolutely incredible. That said, given how pricey the meal is, you'll certainly want to reserve this meal for celebrations and special occasions. Between the four in our party, we shared the following: jumbo lump crab cakes ($36.95), prime tomahawk ($194.95), prime New York strip 14oz ($64.95), jumbo asparagus ($17.95), roasted wild mushrooms ($21.95), creamed spinach ($17.95), and a New York-style cheesecake ($18.00) for dessert to share. If you're a wine enthusiast, there's a Bible sized wine menu available here to thumb through. Our server made it a point to emphasize the scale and expansiveness of their wine list. The list goes on and on -- covering every imaginable region of the world and year, and as a casual wine drinker, I was simply overwhelmed. However, if you're looking for cocktails instead, any "standard" cocktail you can think of is available. I ordered an Old Fashioned and it was stiff, yet nicely balanced. Moving on to the food, I have never had crab cakes as good as the ones here -- this appetizer is a must order. Most crab cakes I've had have too much bread crumb fillers and tend to be a bit bland. The ones here contain generous amounts of large, chunky crab meat, are well-seasoned, and are perfectly fried. The tomahawk steak is a serious show-stopper. If there's one cut to order, it's this one. Carved table-side, you really get to appreciate the size and beauty of this cut of meat. The meat is expertly cut off from the bone, and I love the distribution of rendered fat on each piece of meat. Some steakhouses offer a bunch of different sauces and dips to go with the meat, but none of that is available here: you're here for the meat, and you can truly appreciate the flavor and quality of the dry-aged meat in its purest form. All you really need is some salt and you've got the perfect bite. The steak here is delicious; no notes. Although the steak is the clear star of the show at Pappas Bros., the sides cannot be skipped over (not that you'd want to, given how delicious everything sounds). I was tempted to order the large tower of golden onion rings that many other tables seemed to be ordering, but ultimately settled on some of the other vegetable offerings. The creamed spinach is rich and decadent. One order is easily enough for a group to share. The jumbo asparagus is honestly some of the longest and largest spears of asparagus I've ever seen. They had a nice snappy bite to them. Although you'll probably be absolutely stuffed by the end of your meal, I encourage you to order at least a dessert to split. Although I only had a chance to try the New York-style cheesecake, it's something I would happily order again. The gargantuan size of the slice of cheesecake is enough for a group of 8 to split. Like everything else on the menu, the cheesecake is rich. I appreciate that the cake itself was not overly sweet. The whipped cream on top was light and fluffy. If you're looking for a steakhouse in Dallas with quality food, drinks and service, look no further than Pappas Bros. Steakhouse. Closing note: there is no dress code that's enforced.

Seating is not ideally comfortable for a one and a half to two hour dinner, ambience is not too loud, but not exactly leaning on the side of anything remotely formal. Good for groups, good if you like steak....I will say if you like steak that is overcooked with a 1/2inch burned crust and very salty. Was excited to try the wagyu filet but it was overdone and impossible to enjoy the tenderness when you had to bite through so much burnt. Noticed that they serve a crème brûlée, and unfortunately, it did not live up to it its hype: I received a oval dish about 6 inches long that had a smidge over - I kid you not - a quarter an inch of crème brûlée, including the soggy caramelized crust. When I ran my spoon from one end of the dish to the other, it barely filled up half the utensil - it was rather saddening. Now I am the kind of person that believes in at least a "two times whack" with the bottom of the spoon in order to break the lovely caramel crust on top of a crème brûlée; this poor little dessert was not even thick enough for the spoon to rest upon the crème brûlée without it sinking to the bottom of the dish instantly. Positive notes, our waitress was a little misinformed on the menu, she might've been new and so that was not her fault as she did well in trying to accommodate our party of three - one who is particularly hard of hearing - and their Caesar salad was average, but nothing outstanding, along with the potatoes and brussels sprouts we got along alongside the meal. All this being said, if you like a variety of big pieces of overcooked salted meat with a thick crust, this is the place for you.
