Charco Broiler is a staple in Oak cliff. I've been going since I was a little girl and it never disappoints. This is the place to get more bang for your buck! This particular visit, I had the steak & shrimp, it came with a baked potato & a salad. The steak was perfect! We got there just before the lunch rush so we didn't wait too long for our food. This place brings me nostalgia with its old time feel!

Stopped by on a Thursday evening around 7pm and there was no wait. I like the dedicated parking lot to the side of the building and also across the alley. Lots of parking. You order in front and go down the line to grab your salad. It's in the coolers behind the food line - odd. Salad is iceberg lettuce and you put which ever toppings you want. They had carrots, red onion, purple cabbage, and cucumbers. They also have hard boiled eggs which cost an extra $0.75. No tomato. Dressings: bleu cheese, ranch, Italian, and possibly one more I can't think of. The steak was ok. It was cooked the way I asked but lacked flavor. Even with the steak sauce it still tasted bland. The plate comes with a baked potato with about half a stick of butter. No joke. We sat in the banquet room for a birthday gathering and the service was great. Our plates were brought out to us pretty quick. We had a lady coming out to refill our drinks and take our plates/trays as we finished our meal. Decent experience but I wouldn't return unless there's another family gathering.

After seeing this place over the years, I had wanted to try them out for the longest time. The problem is this: we live in North Carrollton and the restaurant is in Oak Cliff. For us, that means going on a Saturday. I'm glad we finally made it down. It's located in a tired looking but still proud part of town. Unfortunately, the restaurant is a bit tired and faded, but don't let the looks of the place deter you. All of the dinners come with a fresh salad and a big baked potato and Texas toast. My wife had ordered the chopped steak and I ordered the ribeye. Both came out quickly and were cooked perfectly to order. As a side note, the steaks were not seasoned but salt and pepper took care of that. The ribeye was so tender and juicy with great charcoal flavor. All said, it's a great old school place you all need to try. We will definitely be back soon.

We ordered the chicken fried chicken, which was super oily and greasy. The breading didn't have any flavor. Everything was just so plain tasting. I would rather have it with mash potatoes, green beans, and Mac n cheese, not the bake potatoe. Toasted bread was the only good thing beside my sweet tea.

Charco Broiler Steak House is definitely in my top ten when it comes to steakhouses. They're not super fancy or over the top but they make damn good food at a reasonable price. I've had both their 10ozribeye and 10oz sirloin both were tasty and well prepared their chicken fried steak is good as well but is a bit small for the price and we've also had their crispy fried chicken sandwich which was amazing. They have some tasty desserts as well. my only complaint would be that they are a bit inconsistent sometimes when it comes to food preparation but everybody makes mistakes and charco broiler Steakhouse is no exception but their willingness to go over and Beyond to correct any mistakes is what lands them a High five and a well earned 4 star review in my opinion. Don't take my word for it, I highly recommend you try them for yourselves. Why four stars and not five: Inconsistent food preparation. *Poor *Decent *Good *Great *Best *JLFoodie Certified Food. Great Service. Great Cleanliness.Good Consistency. Good Value.Great I am desperate for your attention so please like, Follow and comment.

This is a very homey, familial restaurant and that's probably why I would come back here. I got a 1/2 lb burger. The combo comes with a drink and a side. The burger was good-ish, like a 3.5/5.0 for me. The combo was kind of priced higher than I would have liked on the menu, but when I got my check it was actually lower than what I had seen it priced to be. I'm not sure if that was a mistake or if someone did me a nice favor, but I did appreciate the lower price. The interior was much bigger than I had expected. The restaurant however is located right off of Jefferson, which is a pretty busy street so parking there can be tough. And when backing out of your parking spot off the street, you've really got to watch out for cars. The staff was very friendly. Like, more friendly than the average place, and that is the reason why I'm giving this place the 4 stars. Their menu is pretty diverse in offering various meat options from burgers through steaks.

We have never had an issue here. . It was getting oretty busy when we went. I got the 8oz Sirloin with baked the Mr. ordered 8oz ribeye with baked that also was yummy its also priced accordingly. We will still be coming back when we need a close to home dinner.

Even when we weren't sure about which appetizers we wanted she allowed us to split appetizers- a small portion where we got to try the apps. We tried the tenderloin crostini which was delicious. Along with coconut shrimp. The shrimp were ginormous. And the sauces were so good. Our fav was the mango marmalade. The best bread I have ever had in my life!!!! You know how sometimes they bring a roll to the table for the table to share? Not here boyeeeee Each person gets their own roll. I don't even know how to explain this heavenly bread. It truly is the best beard I have ever had before. I would come eat here again JUST FOR THE BREAD. The crab cake is out of this world. Huge jumbo clumps. Also comes with a variety of sauces. The wasabi one was our favorite. You must order the crab cake! My husband got the ribeye rare and said it was the best steak he has had, and he eats a ton of steak. I got their off menu item of carne asada tacos. The meat was sooooo tender. They don't use flank steak they use a tenderloin and it just melts. The mushrooms were Devine. Glad I ordered the carne asada. The adult Mac and cheese was good but just good. Brussels sprouts were good (not the best I have had) but I think I was also just so full by this point. The asparagus is huge!!! Oh the best finisher ever- the peanut butter pie!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!! I'm not even a dessert girl and I couldn't stop eating it. First time me and my husband were fighting over the last bite.

The restaurant was practically empty, so we sat in the bar/lounge area. The host and other staff were friendly. Our waiter came off a little smug at first and barely cracked a smile. He honestly seemed a bit annoyed that he had to wait on us, which felt very unfriendly. My friend managed to get him to loosen up a bit as the night went on though, so maybe that's just his personality. To his credit, he was very informative when it came to the main course options. The lighting was dim and intimate. Ambiance was simple and modern. I ordered the sea bass and my friend ordered the beef Wellington. Honestly, after tasting my fish, he ended up enjoying my sea bass more than his own dish. The sea bass was like butter, just as the waiter described it. If fish could fall off the bone, this one would have. It came with rice, cashews, and a ginger miso sauce. The cashews added a really nice crunch and texture and the flavors worked really well together. I thoroughly enjoyed it as b the only downside was the portion size. Like a lot of nicer restaurants, you get one small piece of fish... about the size of my pinky finger. My friend's beef Wellington, on the other hand, was just okay. He didn't say it was bad, but it definitely didn't stand out, especially compared to the sea bass. We also ordered potatoes as a side and the white truffle Caesar salad. The salad was good and the truffle flavor wasn't overpowering, which I appreciated. The potatoes were solid too and paired well with the meal. Dessert, unfortunately, was not it! We ordered the Wicked Sundae. Our waiter had actually recommended the banana pudding or the chocolate tart, but we decided to try something else. We probably should've taken his advice. The sundae tasted mostly like ice cream and was missing the main part of the dish -- the brownie. Nothing to run home about, and it also happened to be the most expensive dessert on the menu. Definitely not worth it.

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

We were asked to wait. Waited maybe 5-10mins. No biggie, A lot of open tables were available for immediate sit down. Again that wasn't a big deal. I had asked for a booth & wanted to sit in front room. The hostess said no a problem. She handed us off to a younger hostess and she took us to a table. I told her I had requested a booth. In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I didn't want to seem difficult and took the table as she just walked away. Kev was confused as we were. No good communication skills. It was an awkward encounter. The restaurant wasn't busy at all & never was whole time there. Kev wasn't sure why she didn't move us a requested & was puzzled himself. However i apologized to him & explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but prefer booth sitting and most times we will wait for one. We left at 1:45p and restaurant was no busier than when we arrived. Reservation/Booth or not! I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact. Again Kev was amazing & food was outstanding!
