I'm surprised that this Outback has such a low Yelp rating, since it was packed when I went Saturday night! My boyfriend and I sat at the bar for an hour before we got a table. Normally I wouldn't enjoy a wait that long, but I had a delicious, fruity, and strong castaway cocktail that made the wait enjoyable. In addition, we split a blooming onion. It was crispy and tasty! After the blooming onion we had to have healthier options for supper. My boyfriend ordered the salad with steak on top. They brought it out without dressing, and he had to ask for some. He loved it and said it was the perfect combination! I had a cup of the potato soup and the house salad for dinner. I loved the creamy potato soup and the house salad was just what it should be. Ordered online Curbside Take-Away. Order was supposed to be ready at 6:33 pm. I arrived at 6:40 PM and all the Curbside Take-Away spaces were full so I pulled in to the next open space next to that. At 6:47 someone came out to help the car next to me and asked for my name. Finally got my order at 6:56 pm. Drove 1/2 mike to my destination and got the food out. Meat was lukewarm and fries were cold and stale. The salads were also lukewarm. Requested no bread and asked for flatware, received bread and no flatware. Certainly timely and cheerful, but carside pickup food for three (one each of steak, pork, and chicken mains) was literally inedible due to salt content. Proteins were so salty that they couldn't be eaten, let alone enjoyed. Baked potato sides were left whole and were stone cold by the time we received our order (proteins in the same container were still piping hot). We enjoyed the side salads and bread, salad dressings were tasty. Takeaway was packed well for pickup (though, again, side items were ice cold). If you're staying next door at the Hilton Garden Inn, don't feel like it's worth your effort to give this place a chance - literally every chain restaurant one can also not want to eat at is nearby, I recommend giving one of them a chance over this disaster. ETA: Added a star to my review after staff got in touch to try to 'make it right' - which I appreciated. Didn't take them up on the offer because it's rare enough that I'm in the area, let alone have meal time that isn't client-focused. read more

We had date night last night with two of our closest friends. We had left Malone's because there was an hour and 15 min wait and called around to see what didn't have a wait on a Friday night. I opted for the sirloin and the baked potato and upgraded to the premium Mac and cheese. The steak and the baked potato were great but I would pass on the Mac. The picture implies it's made in a cast iron skillet and served when it's obvious it's made on a stove and shoved in a pan to look that way and then put a little bread crumbs on top. I have eaten at this particular restaurant many times. Most of the time, our meal is pretty good. But this one was not. I should've seen this sign that it would probably not be a good experience when we had to stand for several minutes before being seated because no one happened to be at the hostess booth. That is unusual for outback, because there is always someone at the hostess booth. We were seated in one of the booths around the bar, which is fine. We ordered our drinks and a Bloomin onion. The onion was OK, but there were parts in it where the batter was not penetrated by the oil and it was raw and parts. I usually order the steakhouse salad, but wanted a warm meal, so I ordered the Kookaburro wings as a meal. They were not completely done, to the point of actually being kind of soggy. I could not finish my order. The other person in my party ordered the center cut sirloin, which was very good. He also ordered the mac & cheese, which he said was spicy. When I tasted it, I didn't like it. It tasted like they used a very sharp cheese of some kind and then added parsley to the top. They should've stuck with their original penne pasta and cheese. If you are in Lexington, and want to eat at Outback Steakhouse, choose the one off of Nicholasville Road. It is much more consistent, and much better. I would avoid this one. UPDATE: Outback contacted me on this review. They wanted to make it up to me by sending a couple of coupons to use at my next visit. In general, I like Outback, so we used the coupons and had a much better meal, but it wasn't at this location, so I won't elaborate. Most of the "less than satisfactory" meals we had at Outback was at this location, so we decided to visit the other location in Lexington. Whatever the sauce that comes on the side, it is pretty tasty! My husband loves their steaks, so its a win win for us. Generally that is typically a hard topic for us... where we are gonna eat, but if we go here, I know everyone will be happy. The service has been nice each time we go. The food is mediocre and the their servers acted burdened by our business. My three year old son accidentally left his Toy Story doll and when I called an hour later and asked if they had had it, they told me they didn't. He insisted it was there so I drove over and went in to look for it. When I went in the servers were all congregating around the front and didn't have time to listen to what I was trying to ask. One of them ask me "did he leave his money in a wallet or something?" Uh no! Not money! A woody doll. Then they tell me, oh yeah the server found it. But then they couldn't locate it. I explained that I didn't want to leave without it because he'd be upset. So 20 minutes later they "locate" the doll in the freezer. Someone had broken his pull string that makes him talk. So now I still have to buy a new doll. I didn't realize that I was such an inconvenience to them or that they couldn't give a little boy back his toy without tearing it up. While I waited on them to locate the doll I hear one of the servers using offensive language and saying he didn't care because he was quitting. There seemed to be mass confusion on clearing the tables as we waitied a good 15 minutes (while other larger parties walking in were immediately being seated) Not sure what that was about... It was a cheeseburger with tomatoes and mustard and flavorless beef...Im not sure how it earned the name of 'outback burger' My wife ordered a sirloin and asked for it to be med well. First things first, we were never given bread throughout the entire dining experience. We asked several workers for silverware and it took 15 minutes just to get silverware. Food was usual Outback food. Great steaks and tasty sides. One asked for ketchup and again, took 15 minutes to get that.
