Had the best service I have had in years on Labor Day. Unfortunately did not grab the gentlemen's name, but I do know he was called in, and was awesome! I just had the best lunch at The Outback. Michelle P., the server, is the best. Seriously. I ordered my lunch and told her she doesn't have to rush anything. I have all the time and am not in a rush. She brought out my Tortilla Soup. Hot and quite delicious. Fresh lime wedge with it. She followed up with a Caesar salad. She brought it about two minutes after I was finished with my soup. The Caesar salad was fresh, crispy, and green. Not one brown spot on the romaine. That's impressive if you eat a lot of Caesar salads as I do. Lol. I enjoyed some sips of my Cabernet Sauvignon after finishing my caesar salad. She brought my Bone-in Ribeye(I ordered off the dinner menu), a 4oz Lobster Tail, and Mac&Cheese. I'm not kidding. I called in a lunch order today (couldn't figure website out) My order was taken promptly & correctly by a very nice employee & about 20 minutes later my Bloomin burger & salad (instead of fries) was brought to my car door again by a polite & very nice Outback employee. The burger was cooked perfectly,my extra sauce on the side wasn't forgotten. The salad was huge, blue cheese dressing perfect & they even included the bread loaf & butter your usually served at the table. My husband chose Outback (OB) for our anniversary celebration. I was not in complete agreement with his choice but decided to go with it. Our last visit before the pandemic was not great. This visit far exceeded my expectations. The dinner was prepared flawlessly (reminded me of the old days when OB first opened. Everything went like clockwork. The meal was ready at the specified time (we chose to do pickup). The person delivering the meal to the car didn't wait for us to check-in but asked "what name was the order under" and came back with the meal in under 3 min. I could not have asked for better. The prices haven't gone up from what I remember and we were able to feed 3 adults from an order that was meant for two. What's not to like. I will start by saying that I like this Outback but I feel like when I am in the restaurant, I have had a much better experience than when we get takeout/delivery. Last night, my wife and I got delivery service from Outback and aside from the food being cold, the food itself was just plain awful. The ribs were very small and burnt beyond recognition. Seriously, I could not even bite through them and had to throw them out. My wife's steak was way overdone (she ordered it medium). We also asked for no bread and explained that this was due to an allergy and bread was provided anyway. I do not think that I will every get delivery again from here again. OMG has this place gone over a cliff or what?? I used to dig me some Outback once in a while. I'm a true blue meat and potatoes girl. I love a great steak and Outback used to have some decent steaks. Key phrase in that sentence being "used to" My hubby and I got a gift card for our wedding (yes ya'll i'm a newlywed!!) (cue adorable oohs and ahhs here) We got there about 8. Granted, not DINNER time to some, but they are open til 10 so I figured would be a nice night out with some good grub. The waiter was nice, but that's about it. He gave us our drinks and we perused the menu. We both saw a "new" item; a pan roasted tenderloin with shrimp scampi on the side. Sounded kinda weird, but I love tenderloin and I love scampi so we both decided that's what we wanted. We ordered that, with a bloomin onion and i ordered a salad. The waiter came right back out... No tenderloin with scampi. They were out of tenderloin. Hmmpf. I HATE when this happens. The waiter tells us to just order a different steak and they will still put some scampi on the side... ok, deal. I never did get my salad. The bloomin onion was floating in grease and it was burnt. THEN the entrees come. PLEASE someone tell me when they changed the recipe for scampi to garlic +salt +salt +a little more salt!! Not only was it THAT bad, but it wasn't on the "side" it was thrown on top of our steak. My veggies weren't even safe!! Poor salty garlicky veggies. I actually said to my hubby, " I can't believe a cow and some shrimp died for this." Sorry Outback, you're old history in my book. Shit, TX roadhouse is cheaper and better!! Disappointing. After numerous great experiences at this Outback, my recent visit fell short. The cheerful hostess seated us promptly and the server appeared with menus. A drink order took a ridiculous amount of time for which the server apologized for the bartender. The food was excellent. When the check came, they couldn't read the credit card. A second card was used and when we were leaving the restaurant the server stopped us and showed us that they had charged another customers card for the check, not mine. It was finally straightened out, but this was a new experience for me, something that should not happen in a well established restaurant. read more

I was told that serving lunch was fairly new here - maybe a year or so, but in my opinion they haven't mastered the soup and salad deal. Not that I want my soup to be so hot it takes an hour to cool it, I do expect it to be hot enough that I need to blow on it for a bit - soup that is supposed to be served hot is best served hot! I also shouldn't have to tell them to make sure my soup is hot. Moving on to my salad - though almost all of it was fresh - there were a few leaves that should have been given to the rabbit and not served on my place. The real issue here is in the amount of dressing they give you - when I asked about it - the server told me it was already on there - I had to actually look to see it and obviously asked for more - which took a bit longer than it should have. The price was ok - but if I had to compare chain with chain on an endless soup and salad deal - I'm going to pick the OG - at least I get those great breadsticks instead of cold brown bread I got here! read more

Aussie Fries....Bloomin' Onions, these are the things food utopias are founded on. Service at this location is top notch from the call ahead seating, to the hostess and onto our server, Noah. A well oiled machine as it were....I don't see how it couldn't be with all the liquid gold that goes into their food. Our group of four called for a table at 730, we walked right in and were sat immediately. Enter Noah, who gave us a minute to browse and then took drink and app orders. Our drink order took a bit longer than expected but he brought us water straight away. I could tell you how good the Bloomin' Onion was but you already know. My girl and I both ordered the Outback special and I threw on a 4 oz. lobster tail for 8.99. Salads came out with those crack croutons so loaded with garlic that it makes your stomach hurt later....but I can't stop eating them. "Once it hits your lips". The entree's came out shortly after. My steak was cooked perfectly, the lobster tail nicely steamed, sprinkled with paprika and served with melted butter. Both were fantastic although for $9 I'd pass on the lobster tail next time. I don't think my body can handle me shoveling this amount of food into my mouth for another year but I'm already looking forward to it. read more

I have to say, I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants in general, and this is actually my first time visiting an Outback Steakhouse. My boyfriend and I were craving some red meat on a Sunday, and our go-to local steakhouse is closed on Sundays. We didn't feel like cooking since it was a scorcher out, so I suggested Outback since options were limited. We arrived and were seated promptly. We ordered an appetizer, salad, and steaks. Our waitress was good, we only had a slight problem. We ordered our appetizer and approximately 15 minutes went buy and no appetizer came to our table yet. I was getting impatient since our waitress was no where to be found, and where we were seated, not a lot of employees seemed to be walking by. I was getting really annoyed but finally a manager came a delivered some piping hot mushrooms and said she would take them off the bill. Problem solved. I thought it was great they did that and it didn't take me having to complain to do it. I just wish that at 8 or 10 minutes they would have come out to tell us about this problem. The rest of our meal was great. I was worried that with the delay of the appetizer, the rest of the meal would be rushed and cold but it was not. The salads came out after our appetizer. And our steaks came out shortly after we were finished and were cooked perfect and didn't taste like they had been sitting under a heat lamp. This Outback location is amazing!! The food always comes out promptly and as expected. And drinks are constantly being replenished. They never miss a beat. If you've never been to an outback before, make sure you order an entree with their loaded baked potato - hot potatoes with salted skin, smothered in sour cream, butter, cheese, bacon bits, and chives. Yums! I'm getting hungry just fantasizing about it! Other things we've tried at outback and would recommend.... I've always had great service at this Outback and I've gone back multiple times with my family. Out of all the family chain places Outback is one of my favorites. I really like the way they season their steaks. Yes, Outback is a couple bucks more expensive than a steak at Applebees (which is terrible) or Texas Roadhouse, but the quality is very much noticeable. The salads, sides, and entrees are good. Each meal is served with some warm pumpernickel bread. The Blooming-onion is good, the potato soup is decent, and I like the blue cheese chopped salad with pecans and a tasty vinegarette. Over-salting foods is a common theme in family-style chain restaurants, so if you're not into that I would recommend finding something local. But this Outback doesn't seem to me to go overboard with the salt. I think Outback is great place to take the family and get some decent quality steaks at an economical price. read more

I went over their about three weeks ago and what happen was a nightmare of hell....I ordered a Cobb Salad with Chicken and I went in the parking lot to receive the order, when I got back to my room whole on the road, their was no plastic forks to eat the salad, then the two blue cheese containers where awful, blue cheese did not pour since it was old and still and moldy , then what happen was tomaotes cherrys where kinda aged and the chicken was so dry....I literally eat the salad with my fingers hoping to my life I did not sick from eating it ...I been their couple times before in the past and where good but this experience takes a whole new level. read more

Outback used to be my go-to steak place. Not any more. Our regular Outback is in Sterling Heights, but it has gone downhill drastically over the years. Yesterday I had a taste for some Outback but my wife is fed up with Sterling Heights, so we decided to try the Madison Heights location. What a disaster. I ordered a small sirloin along with a crab cake and a baked potato. I asked the server to not put any sauce on the crab cake and he indicated that all sauce would come on the side. I also ordered my baked potato with butter only, as I despise sour cream. My order came and it was lukewarm. The crab cake was slathered with sauce, and after taking a nice big bite out of the potato I was greeted with a mouthful of the disgusting sour cream! These guys can't get much right, can they? On top of that, we never got refills of our drinks. When Outback first came on the scene, they were the best in service. The experience was amazing. Now it's dreadful. It's highly unlikely we will bother with Outback any more, and we definitely will not return to this location! BEWARE!!!!!! read more

I do believe Outback Steakhouse is made of salt. EVEYTHING I've ate my last 3 visits has been far too salty. Steak, fries, even their burgers. They have decent food. Not the best steak youll ever taste but probably top 10. The man hostess...hoster I guess had a serious attitude. Maybe he had a bad day, but regardless I didnt make you work here so cheer the heck up! They also are incapable of cooking things medium rare, which is the only way to cook a steak. Both times I had to send it back. Trust me I understand the cook scale and both times it was cooked rare. Like it was thrown on the grill for 1 minute each side. The way Id cook a tuna steak. I have to be honest, not one of my first choices when it comes to cuisine, but they have several things going for them...they have a gluten free menu, they are fast, they are close and fiance (who is GF) has never gotten sick after eating their food. Let me begin by saying I had a killer craving for crab legs tonight and went here to get my usual fix. The waitress informed me that they don't have any crab in the fall & winter because it's off season. Ahhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was screaming on the inside like Elaine did in that episode of Seinfeld when she was trapped on the subway. Trying to keep my composure, I ordered the lobster instead (grilled not steamed.) When the lobster arrived, I was thinking "where's the beef?" My plate had two very tiny grilled lobster tails. It was almost a kid's portion. I was starving so I dug in. Holy seasonings Batman! It's almost like they tried to overcompensate with seasonings for the lack of lobster on the plate. It didn't even taste like lobster. My husband's fillet was just as bad, waaayy over-seasoned. I immediately regretted my decision to salt & pepper the steamed broccoli & baked potato. If I left them bland, they would've helped buffer those over powering seasonings. It's a Friday night so the place was packed. Thank God we called ahead because we didn't wait to be seated. Oh but we more than made up for that time while waiting for our food. The food came out mixed up, with the smaller steak that was suppose to be medium rare being well done, and the other steak being overly rare. Both of my parents have COVID so I wanted to bring them a nice carry out. I ordered two outback burgers with vegetables. I also asked for two sides of fries. When they brought the order to me one burger had fries and one burger had vegetables so I was missing a side of each. I had to ask them for a side of fries and vegetables. Neither of the burgers had lettuce, tomatoes, onions, or pickles. It honestly look like they just threw everything together and they took a box. My parents told me that the vegetables had no taste, the fries were very salty and burnt and the burgers were just mediocre. I called the restaurant to tell them this and they told me if I wanted to bring the food back they would make a new order. I explained that I don't live with my parents and they both are sick with Covid. The manager told me that she wasn't going to just give me free food because I was making a complaint. I told her that I wasn't going to make my parents dig through the trash while they're sick, drive to their house to pick up the bad food, and then drive all the way back to the restaurant. This is asinine. Make it right the first time I shouldn't have to drive all over town. Manager promised me that she would talk it over with another manager and call me back. Nobody ever called me back. This was not outback quality. I understand they are very busy but this was worse than Burger King quality. If you think all Outbacks are the same, think again. I've had bad experiences and good ones. This place is one of the best. It's clean, the waitstaff are really nice, and while I was waiting for my table, I was offered lemonade and finger food. The food was awesome, I just adore the bread, and the quesadillas are to die for. The walkabout onion soup was tasty as usual, and the steak was perfect, although I'll order the larger one next time.
