Came here to sing the praises of Outback and it's amazing staff. We were bored of our usual haunts and my 9 year old wanted steak, which is tough to find on a kid's menu around here (and we gave up on Buzz Inn steakhouse for repeatedly lousy experiences). So we came on Friday and had an excellent meal. I left dreaming about the next time I'd get to have their lobster.... So when my kids wanted to go again the following Wednesday when my husband was out of town and it was too hot to cook, I could hardly say no. The second time we came was even BETTER. And I just want to give a shout out to our server Hannah S who was an absolute delight. When my son dropped a toy underneath our booth, she got down on the floor with him and used the flashlight on her phone to help him find it. Then she used her arm to cover the metal beam under the table so that he wouldn't hit his head when climbing out. Talk about going above and beyond! Then when I had to take my younger child to the restroom, leaving my older child by himself at the table, without being asked, Hannah kept him company while I was in the ladies room. The food was wonderful. Even better this time around because this time i ordered the meal with TWO lobster tails haha. First time visiting this location on our way home with family from the national park on the Wednesday night . Walked in seems very slow that moment but there was no hostess at the podium, but we were seated after 7 minutes of waiting . We ordered two three courses dinner , burger and bone-in ribeye . The food came out within the reasonable time and all meats were cooked as expected . Dinner rolls were brought to the table served with warmed and we loved it ! Overall the experience was good however the service needs to step up such as the table maintenance especially on the slow night . There was no reason our dinner plates didn't get picked up after check was paid and upon our departure . I guessed we can't set the high expectation at this caliber of establishment ? Where to start? The food took about 45 minutes to get to the table from when we ordered it. I got the full rack of ribs. They were overcooked and cold. The fries were cold. The order of Queensland chicken was cold and just tasted off. We had to send everything back and just pay for the drinks and appetizer and leave. The two hostesses were extremely rude and had an attitude the second we walked in. The whole staff seemed like they were in defensive mode, even our server. Things were super slow and nothing came out on time. The food itself wasn't terrible, but my steak was chewy and definitely not worth the wait. Our cookie that was suppose to come out on a skillet came on a plate and very small, the condiments did not come with the food when it should of, lot's of messing items with today's economy and prices it's better to eat at home or hire a chef to come and cook for you lol. Honestly, the busser was the only person who actually did his job right. He was the one bringing things to our table, checking in, and making sure we had what we needed -- he was the best part of the whole visit. The food was good. Steaks were cooked perfect, my coconut shrimp was overdone but I prefer the coconut breading more crispy and it was. This is the only reason for two stars instead of one. We were seated right away because the restaurant was half empty. We then sat for 10 minutes with zero acknowledgment we were there, even though wait staff and bus persons walked by us several times, checking on every single table around us except us even though we clearly had no bread, water, nothing. We were literally getting up to walk out when our server finally came over and asked how long we had been there. He apologized profusely and was fairly attentive from then on. I visited for their St Patrick day email special. I was alone at the bar and a couple were eating in the dining room. The bartender was completely unaware of the special. After a few minutes the manager confirmed the special. However it felt like they were miserable giving me the deal. If corporate creates marketing opportunities this franchise should embrace and advertise them. Signs in the windows. It's not like they are busy. My meal was delicious but was over seasoned. The prime rib was good, but the serving was so thin. It was supposed to be 10 oz. Didn't appear to be but who knows. Food wait time was okay, and usually comes warm not hot, which is a problem for me as when I get to the end of my steak it's already cold. On the encouragement of the manager we decided to give this location another chance to serve us. We entered the restaurant at 12:12pm but our waitress did not come to us until 12:29 to take our drink order. I told her that since we have been waiting for almost 20 minutes we were ready to order food. She called me a liar and said that we just walked in the door. I ask for the manager and she said there was no one. We then left. The kitchen manager ran out to our car and apologized and asked us to return. We declined since she was the only waitress working. This is the Outback in Maryville, Wa. Ordered 2 sirloin steak combos. The steak was really tuff and chewy. Sent it back. Wanted a nice relaxing time to unwind eat a nice meal. All of my other food is now cold, plopped the the steak down, hows that look to you. The same as before, hard to cut abd its a chewy center cut. I told the manager, he didn't seem to care either. Well I work hard for my money and I am appalled of our treatment regarding a complaint about the horriable steaks. You should have served us a new meal with a different steak! My biological father is in town (Washington State) from Colorado for the week, he said he was craving a good steak so I brought him to the finest place in town! Our waitress Maddie was EXCEPTIONAL!! Maddie took great care of us, making genuine conversation and even cracking a joke or two with smooth landings at the table. My meal was phenomenal, but my dad is a tough critic... he found his bone in ribeye to be subpar, which Maddie swiftly took care of. Soon the manager Johnathan visited our booth, he validated the sore feelings at the table, and took care of the issue. Thank you Manager Johnathan!! The pavement outside the restaurant is very clean! This time I thought I would go with something non steak because the steaks are routinely overcooked and dry. I opted for the chicken and shrimp Alfredo. Well the chicken breast was pounded thin and was dried out. The shrimp were the same. I ate the noodles and sauce which wasn't bad considering it $26. Our server was good. Friendly and efficient. My husband and I love Outback but we were supremely upset with the staff. Our server's name was Dennis and couldn't have been more disappointed with his manners and overall flippant attitude. The busgirl was equally if not more belligerent than Dennis. She greeted us by slamming the bread on our table as she hurried past us, not introducing herself or making eye contact. She was hostile. I worked a 14 hour shift on Thursday 1/18/24, all I'm trying to do coming home is pick up $100 worth of food from Outback. I pull into mobile pick up and I'm greeted by a nice young girl, so far so good. Then around 7:45 a female employee who I assume is no longer on the clock walks out the door like a wild buffalo shouting "f this, f that, f you." Like seriously? You can't compose yourself for 5 seconds to make it to your car before shouting off at the mouth? There is no way this employee got this mad this quick and most likely in this type of a mood while working. I don't care how hard it is to staff right now, Outback can do better than this. The food, service and ambience just wasn't up to par. The steaks were tender, the salad was fresh, the shrimp ... err I mean the lobster was sweet n juicy, the Blooming Onion we were served looked more like a blooming shallot. It was SO TINY. Over several years our family has come here 3 times. Our first attempt was one of the poorest visits ever, quickly followed by a 2nd time. For our third visit though... So after our 2nd time of coming here I told my family I didn't want to return to this location ever. However, my mother in law insisted it being her birthday that she wanted to go here. So reluctantly I agreed to go here once again. Wow!!! I was shocked. At first I was concerned with a dead dinning room at 730 pm but possibly it was because it was a Monday and during spring break that it was dead. But the staff was super Friendly and the food was extremely good. I got the Blooming Onion Burger and boy it was filled with flavor and made perfectly the way I liked it My wife got the sirloin steak and they made it perfectly mouthwatering and the rarity she asked for. I was honestly floored by the change. The only reason I am holding back my 5th star as of now is consistency. After two terrible experiences here I will need to try them once more and preferably when they are actually busy to see how they hold up to that reputation. But as for now I will try them once again and if you were like me, and had a terrible experience before, maybe its time to give them another shot. read more

I would like to say the only reason I'm giving 2 stars is the girl that brought our food to the car. My biggest complaint is my steak. I ordered my steak medium rare, what I got was rare on the brink of being blue. The crazy part of this for me is my boyfriend's steak was cooked completely differently but ordered the same.The other problem that I have is that more than half of my steak is fat. On top of that parts of our bloomin onion are still raw. If I could give it a 0/5 stars I would. Outback used to be my favorite restaurant and now after having food from this location I will never eat outback again. We ordered a bunch of food one night off of door dash and when we started eating it the blooming onion tasted completely different , it's hard to describe (just didn't taste right). The cheese and bacon fries were obviously old and microwaved cuz you could pick all of them up in one big clump and the fries were soggy. Everything we ordered was cold and piping hot in different places , clear signs of being microwaved. This was super upsetting because I always used to think outback had higher standards, I grew up dressing up and making a night of going there , now I wouldn't even put it above McDonald's or any other fast food restaurant.
