I don't want to remove the stars from my previous review I wrote like a week ago...but I have to. I recently rated them for excellent food and service and gave them 5 stars. And guess what....we just visited Outback on Sunday again...a family of 8 for our family member birthday and I was sadly disappointed. I was disappointed with their increase in pricing and the bad changes in their menus. The french onion soup was always $5 or $5.50 for a bowl and now is $6.29 ?!? For the same small bowl of soup? It is really too much ! Before you could get a regular dinner ( Outback Special ) for like $16-$18 that included all 3 items on your plate, Steak, potatoes (fries, baked potato or mash potatoes) and either a choice of small salad or steamed veggies...! But before you got all 3 on your plate. Now they got tricky and they give you only the meat or a fish and one side - potatoes or veggies. No more the 3rd side !!! I said what ??? Are you kidding me? There are many other restaurants you can eat a full dinner at for $18 where they give you a steak or fish and 2 sides ( 3 things all together ). What a bad place this place has became ! So to show them how cheap they got, I ordered my Firecracker Salmon and took only one side that came with it ( steamed veggies ) and I told them what they did and what I think about that... The waiter said that I was right and he doesn't like the new managers ideas either and doesn't like the manager as a person himself. So here they are...going from 5 stars I gave them before...to only 1 star for price fixing and menus manipulating! They want additional $4 for a 3rd side with your dinner! What a rip off ! We want be back any time soon till they revert the menus to what it was... I will also tell all my friends and employees not to eat at Outback for what they did. As a result of that they will lose some customers and maybe then the new manager will open his eyes ! read more

Fast seating, courteous attentive waitstaff, clean, nice greeting door openers, tender mouthwatering filet mignon & delicious coconut shrimp, fresh salad, perfect baked potato. $5 House margarita was weak is my only complaint if I had to make one. I could eat at this Outback every night. read more

Absolutely love this place. Kevin is hands down the best waiter I've had in any restaurant! Always makes sure your orders come out correctly, stays on top of all needs and is knowledgeable of the menu. Meh. Not great. My first time eating In an outback. Sticky table. Dirty floor-granted it's mud season but the benches and tables should be clean. Bland salad. Terrible Luke warm coffee with no spoon to stir. Waiter was very personable and was tipped well because I have been on that side! Asked for my burger medium. Pink inside. Got a burnt dry flavorless thin puck on a clearly cheap bun. Menu was confusing and STICKY! I hate sticky in any form at a restaurant. Nice ambiance-looked warm and inviting but won't be lured back for the food. Mediocre at best. read more

Would be a 4 if service was better. Ahi tuna, salmon, shrimp, shrooms, food always good; service just so slow. We did call ahead seating, waited maybe an additional 20mins after. Waiter nice but service of all food was just so slow. By the time we were done eating we just wanted to get out of there. For the price you pay for a drink you may as well just get a beer or glass of wine bc all other drinks not worth the cost. Hoping next time for better service read more

The waiter we had didn't even smile and it took half an hour to get bread and drinks. It felt as if the waiter had a problem with our table specially because he was happy and smiling with other tables. I'm not sure if we had offended him somehow or if it was a race thing. I can't believe that anyone has had poor service in this Outback... I've been coming to this Outback branch for years. Without exaggeration I must say that I have had prompt, effective, polite and informative service, without exception during 25 or 30 visits to this particular branch. Many other chain restaurants in our area should take a lesson from Outback's management success... In addition I have found the food more than acceptable for a chain restaurant... They now serve lunch .. I've always enjoyed their salads, soups and in particular the ahi tuna salad , lobster tails and blooming onions. In summary you are just Blooming great.The mediocre reviews preceding my review regarding service are misleading at least for this particular Outback branch. read more

Honestly, I wish I could give them a better rating but I just can't. This is the absolute worst outback ive ever visited and I absolutely LOVE outback. First we were seated by the kitchen where the POS system was and heard the staff fooling around, laughing, giggling, calling each other names, yelling and throwing things at each other which was super annoying to hear the whole time we are there. We sat at our table for about 20 minutes before anyone came to us and multiple staff members passed our table 100 times without saying a word. My boyfriend and I knew we should've left after we heard all the commotion in the kitchen. We had Kenny C as our server. He was nice, by the time he came we were obviously ready to order drinks, apps and dinner. Our blooming onion came out before our drinks, as we were half way finished with it, he came to check on the blooming onion we said it was fine and we asked for a glass of water, he then came back with our drinks , we still then asked for water. He came back refilled our bread.. still no water. We asked the busboy as he was walking past for 2 glasses of water.. still didn't get water. Our dinner came out, I asked for my steak medium well - it was more medium and my boyfriend asked for medium and his was rare. We sent it back and they then came back well done.. both of them.. mine was legit a hockey puck, completely inedible and his was straight burned. At this point, it was just annoying. We asked someone for the bill , paid and left! Never again. If you want outback, save yourself a favor and go to outback in Harriman! I should've but wanted to give Middletown another try! read more

This is a nicely run Outback. We came in for dinner, the place was busy, yet the service was terrific and the food was great for the most part. The Bloomin' Onion seems to have suffered some shrinkage through the years, but I've noticed it at other locations too. Still delicious! The bread is sooo good. Love the house salad, and they were very accommodating with special requests. We had the sirloin and the new flatiron steak with grilled shrimp. Both steaks were great, the baked potatoes yummy as usual, but the kitchen couldn't seem to get the shrimp right. They were undercooked, twice. The owner couldn't have been nicer, took care of things in just the way you would hope: comped the onion and dessert, and took a percentage off the bill. I would not hesitate to recommend this particular Outback. There really is a difference between locations, and although there is one closer to me, this is the one I would absolutely choose. read more

We called ahead and got our name on the list. Upon arrival we waited 15 minutes roughly which was expected considering it was a Friday. The service was absolutely terrible. The only redeeming quality was that the managers seemed to want to resolve issues but the wait staff for the most part was just plan clueless. Every thing was such a hassle. We could hardly get refills without a big production, most of the food was prepared wrong, we received our bread and dinner salads after dinner. Wow thanks for that ranch covered desert. My wife and I came in to eat at 8:30 and we were greeted by only what I can assume was the closing server, as she looked down and said "how many? 2?" Before I was able to get the full word "yes" out she had already walked toward the table she was going to seat us at. She then proceeded to ask us what we wanted to drink before we had even sat down. She came back 2 min later with our water, and then said, "do you know what you would like to order?" I replied "no", then she told us "well the kitchen is closing so you need to give me ur order soon". I asked when the kitchen closed and she replied "9". A half hour from when we sat .She walked away, would not recommend this Outback unless you are ready to be rushed out the door. Needless to say we walked out, I'm not going to be rushed, and given an attitude after working a 14 hour day. We went to Texas Roadhouse and had a wonderful experience. I don't usually choose a chain restaurant to dine in, and i don't often write reviews, but this was a great experience. I went Friday night with my son, Matthew, who is in a wheelchair and a friend. When we got there, there was a long wait. The manager, Leonora, couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. A waiter came around every few minutes with free samples of food for all those waiting to help pass the time (clam chowder was delicious and had a nice kick; Tilapia was flavorful and melted in your mouth-both recommended). We got a perfect table where my son didn't feel like he was blocking the aisle and then were greeted by the perfect waitress, Elisa. Our drinks came out in 5 minutes and a salad shortly after even though it was so busy. I had filet mignon which was tender and yummy and the baked potato with perfect skin which I had to take most home as it was huge. Smiles continued, service continued to be great and the manager, Leonora continued to check in to insure all was ok. I was impressed. read more

This experience was HORRIBLE!!!!! First of all when they brought the bread there was hair in the bread AND the butter. Then I ordered my outback burger WELL-DONE and they brought me a medium burger. As I was cutting it to check, half of it fell on the table and the waitress saw that it fell. So instead of me getting a new burger, they re-cooked the same table burger. We went out for a special birthday a few days ago and we were extremely disappointed. Our meal took a very long time to come out. When it did, the steaks were not on our plates. By the time the steaks came out, we were finished with the rest of the meal. When they did come out, they were over cooked and very tough. While talking with friends about my experience they indicted to me that they had similar experiences recently. The server and manager were very nice, did all they could to make it right and were very apologetic. I would not recommend anyone to go. Hopefully things will change. read more

Good overall service Maître d opens the door for you as you enter and exit and is polite. I asked him a question about the dine rewards program, about whether I would get credit for that visit, since I was using a reward discount that night and he politely told me he didn't know( I did) Food was very tasty, served to order. I am disappointed that their is no refill on an Arnold Palmer since all it is iced tea and lemonade which separately they give refills on. If you join dine rewards or bring a coupon they frequently advertise, you can make an already reasonable meal even better priced. read more

Outback used to be fantastic, i emphasize used... takeout is a joke. The portions are so small they are laughable. I ask for bread when i order and get charged per loaf!!! When i questioned why i would be charged for bread with takeout and wouldn't be charged if i ate in the restaurant the server said, "beats me" it is overpriced for the quality and portions we get. Tonight I am in Middletown, NY in a gathering of hotels and restaurants. I see a different restaurant and decide to be different. Not a good idea. SOHO not soho good for me. After being totally ignored by the servers in SoHo, I left and walked to Outback. Even though there was a few minute wait to get a table, I recieved great service and a very good steak. WARNING....DO NOT GO!!!!!! This place is a NO STAR for me, terrible service, horrible food, and bad management. My wife and I went to this horrible place for dinner two weeks ago and was really disappointed with the service. A busser was cleaning a table behind us and dropped a ramekin full of sour cream. The nasty sour cream landed on my face and jacket, hit the guy sitting next to us too. I said to myself accidents happen and was not really mad, but after that we never saw our server again. Our server never came back to check on us, I had to go to the bar to ask for a refill on our drink as well as the check. I had to go into the kitchen to ask for a togo box because our section had no server. We told the manager/owner what happened and she was very polite and said that she would pay for the dry cleaning. To this day I did not see any money for dry cleaning, don't say your going to do something and not do it. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU LIKE SOUR CREAM IN YOUR FACE AND LIES TO COVER UP THE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. read more
