I think part of my problem today is the time I came in. I first was sat at booth by myself. After waiting for almost 15 minutes, nobody came so I decided to sit up at the bar. It took a while for the bartender come back to the counter and take an order. I guess I'm getting it. The food was good today, but the service was very slow, even after I moved to the bar. It's a pretty standard Outback by the Montgomery Mall. The wings, ribs, and prime rib are solid. I was very pleasantly surprised by how juicy, flavorful, and crispy the wings were - definitey a must-try if you are here. If you are getting a ribeye, make sure you order it a step rarer than what you are looking for since the steak is very thin, and our medium rare slice came out medium. The flavoring is quite solid and the char was great with with cross grill marks. Be sure to get a side of the Tasmanian chili, which is more like a soup vs a stew and a perfect blend of tomatoes, beef, and cheese - all with a flavorful, spicy kick. The bread is the sweet, honey wheat loaf which I prefer vs the dense sweet rolls at Texas Roadhouse, but your mileage may vary based on taste preferences. read more

Just wanted to confirm, we did return and did not have any problems other than the first iced teas were weak. As soon as our server noticed a staff member had brought them out to the table he took one look, and asked if we wanted them replaced or substituted for something else. I opted for soda, wife got a much darker tea. Outside of that, everything was perfect. French Onion soup was loaded with onions unlike last time. We ordered our meals with no seasoning and they were great Prime rib for me and a steak for her. Our waiter Nick was outstanding. The service was very slow. We ordered a Bloomin' Onion. I wish I had taken a picture of it. It was so pathetic looking flat wilted. The onions are just like skins. We returned it and got a new one which wasn't a whole lot better. My friend ordered a steak medium and it came out purple and I ordered the chicken Alice Springs chicken and the chicken was very tough. I never review chain restaurants as a rule just because you know what you're getting when you walk in the door, subpar food and service. The food was so bad here i really have no choice but to leave this review.. I'm not gonna talk about the service or the sides that come with the meal because that's not the most egregious part of this experience. Those things were bad,Don't get me wrong but I expect that. This is supposed to be a steakhouse and I'm not expecting Peter Luger quality here but is asking for your steak to be edible too much to ask? Family was hungry, so I got three ribeyes medium rare with a bunch of sides .. every one of those steaks were practically inedible because of the amount of fat and tendon they had. I understand ribeyes are supposed to be fattier than other cuts, but the quality of the meat was so bad that the steak was almost 50-50 fat/tendon to edible meat. We did carry out so we found this out at home and no way I was gonna drive all the way back and wait 45 minutes for them to make new steaks. I'm just astounded that the kitchen looked at those steaks and said yeah , send em out. I know when you walk into these types of places you get what you deserve but it's expensive to eat out and I don't think it's asking too much to at least get a decent meal for your $$.. I can't in good conscience go back to this place. It's really gone downhill and I mean really really bad. Good thing they are in an area with not much competition because otherwise, they'd be out of here with food like that . read more

So I haven't been to an Outback in ages. This is a fairly new location and the place inside is nice. I ordered the half rack of ribs and my wife got a sirloin. The BBQ sauce is a little too sweet so the ribs aren't great, Everything you order from the bread to potatoes to salad lacks enough sauce and when you ask for extra they bring out a super small portion. It is like they are rationing the sauce. I had to waste half my baked potato because I asked for a lot of sour cream and they brought out a small amount and even after asking for a lot more multiple times all I got was a very small amount extra. The server barely came back to check on table and the food was just okay. For the price you pay it is fine but of Longhorn, Texas Roadhouse, and Outback...I think Outback is the worst of the three. I'd go elsewhere. read more

We were just there last weekend. We were seated at 5:30pm, our server's name was Robin Clare. We promptly ordered drinks and appetizer. We then put in our entrees. We had to wait for a full 45 minutes for the entrees to appear!! The asparagus were cold! Ribs sauce was too sweet! We then ordered a dessert and coffee. A server went by our table with a full tray of dishes but didn't stop. We called out to him saying that cake looked like our dessert but he said no and went away. Five minutes, he came back and placed the same dessert on our table. The ice cream had melted around the cake! Coffee still had not come but we couldn't wait for the ice cream to melt even more so we started eating. After we had finished the cake, Robin Clare brought the coffee with creamer, no sugar! We told her that the coffee should have come with the dessert. She gave an outburst that she 'did her best' and walked away with a sour face!! Another 5 minutes went by before sugar came! I told her that her outburst was not appropriate and that customers were always right. We decided that was our last time going there! read more

Party of 3 on sunday evening at 7:00/7:30pm ish We had an amazing dinner night, our server, his name was Max(? Sorry if i spelled wrong) he was very gentle, kind, and pleasant and thoughtful! We wanted to get different tablet he did not interrogate us but promptly accommodated our wants. And offered us refill of complimentary house bread, which was served warm and soft!! Even though we didn't need refill, that was very thoughtful I thought.. and checked on us multiple times to ensure food was perfect for our taste and preferences etc.. promptly brought us everything on our request Steak was cooked very well - medium rare! Just how i like it! Salad was fresh Only con(?) was that the lobster tail was bit too tiny and steak seems so small for 6oz but overall it was very good experience and perfect night! and at the end, i dont think Max was waiting for us to leave lol but coincidentally he held the exit door open for us when we were leaving and smiley and pleasant face for the entire night! Which made our night! My brother worked in food industry for long time himself (host to server to cook) he complemented cooks and the service we received tonight and highly satisfied with tonight's experience. Since my first review of this Outback, they've moved to a much more accessible area a few miles down the road in front of the Montgomeryville Mall (where TGI Friday's used to sit). The building looks good inside and out. The best part about this move is their bar area is much larger. One of my biggest gripes about them in their former location was the unbelievably slow service of getting drinks from the bar. I honestly felt like I had to order two at once it was so bad. Now, the same bartenders are working, but if you can sit in the bar area and have one of the bartenders serve you...the service is phenomenal. The food is what it is. It's Outback so I'm not expecting a ground breaking steak for $20-$30. One time they had a Bloomin Shrimp appetizer that was a complete abomination but their Bloomin Onion is always a crowd pleaser. The steaks are typically cooked right, on one occasion mine was far overdone and they started a new one quickly, the manager came over and apologized. They owned the mistake which is all I ask for. All in all, the move seemed to be a good thing for them. read more

Our first time dining at this location. Host was welcoming. He had a mask on. You have to keep your mask & gloves on. Menus are disposable. I love that since the menus pre Covid-19 were disgusting!! Starting with the dirty table where we were seated which we had to request having it wiped down to the bathrooms with no soap, towels and sticky floors, the whole experience was disappointing. I had the sirloin steak. It was cooked fine, but the meat was over seasoned. Too much salt and pepper. Had the blooming onion, it was ok. First time at the new location. It's big and new looking but because it is so open, it seems louder? Not a big deal. Steaks were cooked well and the bread and butter that comes out is still appreciated while we look through the menu. Service was great and they give 10% off your bill with an AARP membership. I had a series of bad outback experiences and stopped going for a long time. We went back for the first time in years- and while the service and atmosphere were excellent- there were issues with the food. First- the waitress seemingly forgot my bar drink. I ordered the wallaby darned- and I had to request it and it was sitting there ready at the bar. The drink was tasty- but bland. I couldn't taste the alcohol at all tbh. The blooming onion was actually pretty phenomenal! The salads were kind of soggy- and the steak was over cooked. I ordered medium and got well, my husband ordered rare and got mid-rare. The honey mustard for my sons chicken strips was literally all over the plate- overflowing the little dip cup- and a huge mess. The chicken fingers were more like dried breading with little chicken (thankful for the sauce there)! The sirloin I had was also bland (the well done one- kind of tough and tasteless). However- the reason for the 3 stars- the atmosphere was really great. It was obvious this restaurant was well-managed. The team worked together to deliver appetizers, salads, and entrees in a timely manner. The staff was happy. The wait wasn't crazy- and the ambiance was on point. I just wish the food had been better. I will say my son loved everything he tasted, as did my husband. I did not want to ruin their time- so I did not complain and just enjoyed my underwhelming meal because I was in good company. Maybe just add a little salt to your steak- and order it less well done than you like. It wasn't awful- but I'm still not in a rush to return to outback anytime soon. read more

Deep fried Oreos are top notch. Bone in rib-eye was cooked perfectly. Loaded potato soup was killer. The strawberry salad had really sweet and the strawberries were super fresh. The only reason this gets 2 stars is because the food is up to outback's usual standards and it's a much nicer place then the previous location's ambiance. Our Waitress Marisa T. may have been the slowest waitress I've had. It took us about 20 minutes to order, which I understand, so we put our appetizer and entree order in at the same time thinking a logical person would bring them out separately, but no. Entree came out first and appetizer came out after. Again everything was great taste wise but soon thereafter waiting about 40 mins, we needed drinks. Marisa never checked on us once after getting us our food at 5:00. At around 5:20 we found her walking past our table to ask for drinks and she said they'll be right out, but 5:40 rolls around and no sign of her, so we ask another waiter and he brought them right out, no wait at all, same with our box. After 20 more minutes we have the check, but again, checking all our other tables, not us. After what an excruciating wait and the thought of never seeing our debit card again, we are finally free of this prison like "dining" experience at around 6:20. Absolutely disgraceful and appalling, and most likely not be back or recommend this location, for fear our friends go through a terrible experience like this. Yes, the service was slow because of the kitchen. We ate at the bar and our servers were very attentive to our needs. So if you come here with these two expectations, you will enjoy your meal. 1. This is not a prime steak house. It's Outback. 2. The kitchen is slow prepping meals. But our servers were really good. Overall, our salads, steaks and side were a great deal for the money. Had a family function here on a Saturday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised by how well everything worked out. The staff was great, the food was awesome and the entire family had a great experience. Went there during my dinner break tonight. Not very crowded. Was seated quickly.
