We frequent Outback Steakhouse on a fairly regular basis but this was our first visit to this location. It was a Wednesday evening so not very crowded at all. Despite the lack of customers, service was extremely slow. We were there nearly two hours for dinner. It took forever to take our order, and for much of the time, our glasses were left empty. Food was good and really no different than what we've had at other Outback locations. It was really just the service that marred our visit on this occasion. read more

Hello.  I had dinner alone tonight at the Montgomeryville Outback.  Shortly after my steak came out, the fire alarm went off.  We were all forced to go outside for approx 10-15 minutes.  When we came back in, we were expected to eat the same food that had been sitting there and was now cold. The steak and fries were great when they first came out, but now they were not so great.  I am just kind of shocked that I wasn't offered a small discount, or a free dessert, or even a coupon for the future.  I was really disappointed.  My server Max was really nice and attentive, but I really think a manager should of handled this situation. read more

I enjoy Outback but since a waitress wrote down the wrong phone number I have not been able to get the points they give. I talked with their customer service but apparently no one cares to help. I think customer service has been outsourced to contractors and they could care less. The food is delicious but I spent quite a lot of money there even on vacation out of state and customer service could have been more helpful. The food is great. I get takeout all the time, and it's always really quick, and even hot after a 20 minute drive home. Dine-in however is problematic. The service is just exceptionally slow. Unreasonably slow. It's not the wait staff, usually. It's the kitchen. You can easily sit there waiting for half an hour after ordering. Occasionally more. Considering the difference between how quick takeout is and how slow the food arrives dine in, I'd guess they're connected. That because they're doing so much take out business, which is more time sensitive to pickup, they're letting dine in patrons wait. Not sure how to resolve that. Only so much kitchen space. But I'm hesitant to dine in now because I'd rather not sit there waiting for so long. read more

I have a hate/love/hate affair with this place based mainly on the inconsistency of the service. The food is good and their favoring of horseradish as a spice over other more common american peppers gives their food a distinctive taste but problems with the staff are just too annoying. it makes each visit hit or miss and lately it's been a miss more often than a hit. For example last Friday my wife an I arrived a few minutes past nine. The dinner rush was over and they were able to seat us quickly. We knew what we wanted, just a couple of sandwiches, and we didn't get them for more than half an hour. The place was emptying out and the rush was well over. The complimentary bread we were given was starting to go stale but we ate it out of desperation. There was no explanation for the delay. but after they were delivered, after a premonitory 'how is everything' when i took my first bite, the server disappeared for 15+ minutes. Other people were gone and the staff was washing down the tables, not a pleasant smell when you're eating. We finished and waited and waited, and waited to be asked if we wanted anything else/the check and I'd decided at 10:15 I'd go up to the desk and ask if they could get our check before they locked up for the night. 2 minutes before that expired We got the check. The food was good but the smell of cleaning products, slow/to missing servers and taking an hour for a couple of sandwiches when there was clearly no rush on? Ordered from this Outback via DoorDash. My girlfriend and I ordered the same thing, A seasoned chicken dish with cheese and bacon on it. It was so extremely salty that it was basically inedible. I got mashed potatoes with mine, which were also incredibly salty. Spent a lot of money and got a very poor meal that neither of us could finish. My fiance, 2yo daughter and I came to Dinner tonight. I haven't been to Outback in years and am so glad that we did tonight! Walking in, the host was so sweet and joking with us, seated us right away and let us choose the perfect seat for my tired 2yo. Michelle, our waitress was phenomenal, fun, sweet and quick! After dinner the owner Bryan stopped over to check in on our experience! I think that is amazing!! My fiance had the outback burger and said it was delicious. I had the Tilapia with crabmeat and loved it. My daughter had the baked potatoe soup and finished it (which is impressive!) We ended the night with the Thunder down under which was perfect! Usually there is no problem with ordering curbside pickup. However, tonight not the case. I have a lot of pain tonight, and when ordering pick up which I do regularly, there is never any problem. New girl tonight, and a simple order, is now not going as smooth as usual. Hopefully this is not the new normal. If I didn't enjoy the food, I would have just canceled the order. My first experience here was subpar. The food was average, the service was poor, and I was highly disappointed. I reached out to the manager to tell him about my experience and Bryan said that it was not indicative of the experience that most people have there. He implored us to come back and give them an opportunity to change our outlook. I was skeptical but gave them another chance. I'm EXTREMELY glad that I did. Our server was terrific, the food was absolutely fantastic, and we had an amazing time. At the end of the meal Bryan even made his way over to introduce himself and ask if the experience was better this time around. When I go to a restaurant I want good food and good service, and if that is what I get, then I'm happy. If the restaurant fails me, I want to see how they respond. Outback responded in a big way. Bryan as a manager does a fantastic job, you can tell that he cares about his restaurant and the way his customers feel about it. After my last experience here, I can safely say I'll be a customer for a long time. Every place is entitled to an off night, and after my last experience, I'm convinced that is what my first visit was. The staff here is personable and friendly (and were the first time as well, the folks greeting as at the door had great personalities and really set a great tone when you walk in). Came for dinner tonight with my family. Got there at 4:30 did get seated until 5:45 pm When we got there was 30 mins wait. Ok no biggie so we waited but didn't know about the call ahead seating option so our 30 min wait turned into 1 hr. Anywho we blazed ahead and got our table. The waitress was nice and so we ordered everything we needed because we were hungry. Here is where things turned south . The guy who delivered our drinks messed up and had to redo that. Then we got bread and they gave the butter in a dish that had an additional dish underneath it with old unwashed clearly salad dressing still in it. So told the waitress and she took that back . Then our main entrees came BUT... they never gave us the salads or soups we ordered to come out first. Called over the waitress she apologized again and brought stuff out . Lol ! However we had to squeeze every thing on the table at this point. I put out dirty plates and dishes across from us because we had no room. And no one was clearing our table it seemed. And when my son went to bite into his chicken fingers they were sooo over cooked I sent it back and said Nope take it off the bill. They were over breaded rocks. My husband had the 6oz sirloin and shrimp that were so over spiced that he couldn't eat . We had the waitress take things off the bill which she was kind about and definitely she was the only good thing we dealt with. However if you like overcooked and over spiced and messing up even a soda order then come here. Definitely a nice place inside but way lacking service and accuracy on orders. read more

My husband and I order from Outback approximately once every 2-3 weeks. Typically we pick our meal up, and occasionally, we order delivery through Doordash. Usually we're pretty pleased with our meals. However, the last two occasions have been very disappointing. Items were forgotten last visit, but because we usually try to give places a second chance, we ordered again tonight. Big mistake. I ordered the bloomin' burger medium well. They remembered the petal sauce, but completely forgot the onions petals, which is the entire point of the burger. Otherwise, I would have just paid for a regular cheeseburger. I am not one to exaggerate, but the middle of the patty was completely rare- not just pink, which I would have been fine with. I had to remove the beef patty and nuke it in the microwave for a solid minute to cook it, which unfortunately resulted in it also drying out. I ended up only eating half of it and tossing the rest. They forgot my husband's honey mustard sauce for his chicken finger platter, so he used ketchup from our own supply. This is also the second time in a row they gave us a container of butter for the complimentary bread, but no bread. Normally I wouldn't mention this because it's "free" so we don't feel especially entitled to it, but since this was not the only thing wrong, I'm bringing it up. Staff needs to be more attentive, or perhaps they're not being thoroughly trained. Either way, we won't be back. At least not for a long time. read more

I enjoy a great steak, and while it's not usually my choice dish when going out (I order one when I'm in the mood) I always make an exception here because the steak here is amazing (to no surprise, it is in the name after all). One visit I ventured out and tried a chiken pasta dish which I very much enjoyed as well (even if I made the tragic mistske of leaving my leftovers here). I never had a problem with service, and it is constantly crowded but that is to be expected. It's always an enjoyable visit, and well worth the occasion when we do! read more

During the past few months I have ordered curbside pickup 4 times for me and my spouse. I have been so impressed with their service. All my food was ready at time requested. All food was hot and most of all everything was there. Everything from cutlery, napkins and extras we requested of dressings or sauces. I borrowed 2 young friends from their mom to give her a little break. The youngest of the boys has special needs and way too much energy! He kept escaping from the table and running around the dining room (fortunately bc of the time of day/week day it was not busy). The staff was wonderful, especially our waiter. He brought toys, early fries, and played with the little guy (and helped corral him a few times). He talked to them using their names. The older brother hugged the waiter repeatedly and he hugged him back. I wish I could remember this young man's name because he was absolutely fabulous. I don't know, I am neither a glass half full nor a glass half empty kind of guy. No, my philosophy is the glass is totally full, and it's not that way because someone filled it for me, it's that way because I've learned how to keep it full. This being said, I just wish that certain members of the younger generation, high school and college aged individuals understood that the only way to even have a glass at the table, regardless of the condition of the contents, is to embrace the overwhelming need to have a true sense of urgency in attaining short term goals. Politeness will only get you so far. So in other words, hustle it up. Outback is just about always a 4 star, sometimes a five, in my book. The food is always consistent providing an experience that is as predictable as the fact that the sun will most certainly rises in the east every morning. This location, with my server is a 3.5, however just about every other staff member is a five, for service, which brings the total up just above a four. We had to ask a bus boy for our first drink after no less than 10 minutes. (I time such things. It should be no more than about two minutes, especially on a slow Monday night.) Normally I would be going bonkers, but I was taking my mother out and she is disabled and often drinks rather quickly at restaurants for some reason. Better to slow her down than to have a difficult time getting her situated in the car. So the delay was good, but it was not intentional, it was just a slow and inattentive on the part of the server. The waitress was overly pleasant when she came by, which was at the edge of annoying, the very edge. So drinks were very slow, food was very slow, and I noticed the manager running around getting surveys from surrounding customers. My facial expressions may have kept her away, but I really try not to project my emotions, especially of annoyance, on my face when people are touching my food. It is what it is. Most every other server was hustling. Our server seemed like she was better suited for the career choice of skipping through a field counting the butterflies and singing with the blue birds. Being nice and pleasant is good; however being efficient and conscious of your guests is often times more important. Outback could have had another drink out of each of us and maybe desert, which might have added another 20 bucks to the check. This in turn would have added another 2 dollars to the waitress's tip. Servers are, for all intents and purposes, commissioned sales people. It is a nickel and dime business, and no nickels or dimes can be left on the table. Maybe this server would be best utilized as a hostess. For all I know she was a hostess the day before. At any rate, the GM of this location should ensure that the server training is universally administered and a time table as to an acceptable wait time for customer interaction should be reviewed. Again, if not for the hustle of everyone else in the restaurant, this review would be regrettably much lower. read more

Yes, I just gave this Outback 4 stars. I know that it seems a little high, but I want to reward this Outback for having some of the best service I have seen from a chain restaurant. We went here on Saturday for my brother's girlfriend's bday, and out waitress was spectacular. She was attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. I ordered the prime rib cooked medium rare, and it was excellent. I also recommend that filet mignon focaccia sandwich. My father got the Outback Special steak cooked medium, but it looked overcooked from where I was sitting. I'd recommend going with the prime rib if you go here--it's easier to get the temperature on it right, I think. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience. And while I'm generally not a fan of going to chains, I wouldn't object to going back here. read more

This outback stands out from others. Food is always consistent and the staff is nice. I don't frequent chain restaurants and even though this is one of the big ones it doesn't feel like that. The owner has been there every time I have been there. Running food, introducing himself to patrons, and doing whatever it takes to make it a enjoyable experience. That doesn't happen at chains!
