Arrival time 8PM and finished at 9:25PM 2 people Blooming peddles were over cooked and salty Soup was good Salad: ceaser and house salad were not that good, slight bitter taste to the lettuce and Roman. Steak was cooked to order and good Coconut Shrimp was a little over fried and they didn't have the orange sauce at first and brought some out after they were almost gone. Was nice they kept looking, but should have looked before they brought the food out or even cooked it. Baked Potato wasn't cooked long enough. Fries were good and the cheese cake was good. No offer for a discount for even the issue with the shrimp. People working there didn't look happy or act happy, so I didn't bother to mention all the issues with the food. The waiter was very quite which made him seem rude. I would thank him for a refill and he would just walk away. Later I noticed he would say something, just couldn't hear him. The wait for refills was long as he seemed busy and going back and forth without seeing we needed refills. In the hour and twenty minutes we were there I had two refills and my wife had one. Only Because it was filled as much as we would have liked. I have given decent reviews in the past for here and one bad review for online order on a busy day. This is one of my favorite steakhouses in Florida. When I go there, I always get a Booming Burger. This is basically a cheese burger with their famous Blooming Onion pieces. Their burgers are SO GOOD! I recommend medium rare, but get the frys well done because they can get soggy. My only problem is the wait, If you want a late dinner. Dont come here, The waits after six can get insane. Up to an hour per table depending on the day. But it is worth the wait i will tell you. And the lack of deserts is nothing when you consider there is a Bruster's down the street for some Amazing ice cream. Well anyways i recommend this as a place to eat in the future. We were there on a Friday pm, early for happy hour. We were seated right away. We were there celebrating an event, so I was glad the place wasn't crazy busy. The hostess gave us menus right away, which was great! Our waitress 'Katie' greeted us warmly, brought us bread, and took our order. Our drinks were to the table promptly. We never had to ask for anything, everything went smoothly. The wings were hot, the beers were cold a perfect combo! She gave use wet naps straight up which was fantastic! She knew we were celebrating, and was a real gem. Having been in the business, I know a great waitress. She moved from table to table being genuine and efficient. So I had dinner at this particular location tonight the food was decent my service was decent apparently I had the best table in the entire restaurant for entertainment close to the bar. The bartender who easily was in her mid to late 30s kept on telling every single employee that came anywhere close to her how she was bit by a snake when she was a little girl and she died in the back of the paramedics and that's the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus or whatever nonsense brought her back to life and then they had to use some skin from her butt for her finger where the snake bit her all kinds of really weird stuff and it was kind of funny the first five or six times you heard it I sat there for over an hour eating my dinner she had to tell that story easily a hundred times and again this is a middle-aged woman talking about something that happened to her as a child over and over again telling the same story I didn't know if she was having a stroke or what her problem was it was pretty entertaining like I said it just got really annoying it very much seemed like all she was trying to do was get attention from her coworkers and being the bartender everybody goes to the bar for their orders kind of confused it wasn't disappointing just extremely annoying It's really frustrating that someone feels they need to have that much attention drawn to themselves definitely would suck being bit by a snake when you're a child apparently it was venomous whatever the case may be I just didn't need to hear it for over an hour no one else did either read more

I've waited until I'd been several times to write a review. This is a nice place, with exceptional staff, and usually good food. We are dine rewards members and really like being ablee yo get on a waitlist before we leave the house. The managers are quick to correct any food issues, and that is helpful, but happened 4/5 visits. I think steak can just be that way and needs to be prepared to the diner's palate. We appreciate the servers we've had and all but one visit a manager came around to be sure all was well. Deducted one star to leave room for improvement. They need to get the food right on the first try and they need to be able to get food to the table in less than an hour even when they are busy. read more

Must be timing. We went to Outback for lunch and everything was spot on. The server was just the right amount of attentive and the food was very good. We had a fresh loaf of brown bread delivered to our table while we decided what to eat. For lunch, we got the prime rib sandwich and a Caesar Salad. My wife loves Caesar salad and said this was one of the best in Palm Coast. The au jus was basically their french onion soup and it was delicious. I may just order a bowl of french onion soup next time. We will definitely be going back. Maybe we'll try dinner next time. read more

I went to Outback last night for my birthday; it is the closest restaurant and I didn't want to go out that far away. It has probably been five years since we've been there and tonight's trip reminded me why. My wife ordered a filet medium rare. We all got our food and when my wife cut into her steak it was basically raw. It was frigid to the touch and bloody red. Now I was irritated but the waitress took the food back for a re-fire and the place was packed and mistakes happen. The second attempt the steak was rare definitely not medium rare. Plus the second attempt revealed a huge piece of gristle running through the steak. I could've gotten a better piece of filet at Publix. Now I was steaming because my wife who took the time to take me out for dinner was not going to eat with us. The manager could not care less. In fact her response bordered on insulting because she asked if we wanted it cooked medium implying that it was medium rare. No she didn't want it medium. She wanted it medium rare. Based on the quality of the filet maybe we should have specified beef because it looked like we got horse. The manager basically walked away while we were talking and said over her shoulder she'd take it off our bill. You're right about that. There may have been an apology but it wasn't significant enough to register. So Palm Coast Outback reminded us why we haven't been there in five years and hopefully we remember to never go back. So think twice before going to Outback for inside dining. It was just the worst service ever and the Management which their were two of didn't obviously care about the staff standing around talking and laughing and not paying atttention to the very few customers that were in the dining area. Don't expect full menu or hot food ! Trying to help local businesses thru this situation but they obviously don't need the business or care about that we are trying to help shame on them!!!! Came here when I was in town visiting. The staff was friendly and attentive, and I got my dinner pretty quickly. Food was great, and my steak was cooked really well. First, we waited about 45 minutes for our food (a few medium rare steaks) , and it wasn't busy. Second, I ordered the Alice chicken with no mushrooms, they make me nauseous, and it came out loaded with them so they took it back to make correctly and everyone was done eating by the time it came back out. The problem, besides everything else, is that the manager came by to ask how things were and didn't even off a discount for me having to wait nearly an hour and half to get my food, just to pack it up and take it to go... It was so very disappointing that it really wasn't even acknowledged, like it was no big deal that I had to sit there while everyone else ate and then pack my dinner to go because everyone was done and ready. Outback Steak House one of my favorite restaurants until 2 weeks ago. Went to the one on Hickman Dr in Sanford. What a disappointment. First off ordered the strawberry salad with pork chops and brussel sprouts. The server came out to inform me they were out of argula and the were going to get some if I mind waiting. I informed him I was okay waiting. Then here comes the manager with a pecan salad in hand with strawberries and said who ordered the strawberry salad. I explained to him what I was just told by the server and he totally ignored me and proceeded to place the salad down, didn't give me a choice. Okay strike one. Pork chops and brussel sprouts came out and they were disgusting to say the least. The pork chops smelled old and the brussel sprouts where way off took a couple of bites and didn't even finished the meal. My son also ordered the brussel sprouts and agreed they were also horrible. They were suppose to tasted sweet with a crunch to them. They tasted boiled and no crunch or sweetness to them. Then the manager kept walking around us like we were committing a crime. I gotta tell you what a disappointment and will not be going there for a while if not ever. At least not to the one in Sanford. Horrible food. I'm torn between what to give outback; I like the food and normally I'd give it about four stars, and the service, while pretty awful, wasn't terrible. I mean, they did try hard to make sure that we found everything enjoyable, and our waiter was super friendly. That being said, I would not go back here unless I had time for a three hour dinner and time to burn, even if I was just eating with one other person instead of in a party of eight like we were. Their service is ridiculously slow, and the quality of service, plus the manager, while friendly, were unreliable and seemed reluctant to actually help and were generally unsatisfactory. A little situational background: we were a party of 8, made reservations for 9:45, had three grandparents with us who moved kind of slow. Restaurant closed at 11. We figured that'd probably be enough time since they would probably be in a hurry to get us on our way. So there's no excuse that we left AFTER 12:30am. There was nobody else in the restaurant but us starting around 10:20! It took them until 10:40 to even take our orders for food. Our waiter, bless him, was nice, but took our order for drinks then waited until they had come to even think about taking our food order. Hello? We're a huge party. You probably want to get our food going sooner. What made it worse, is that when he came back with the pitcher of sangria filled to the top with ice (like, to the top! Who does that?) AND glasses with ice in them (it was not that hot of an evening....) my mom complained and also asked them if they could give us the happy hour prices because individual glasses of sangria, given the amount, would have been way cheaper. So our waiter immediately goes to check with the bartender (my sister and I were like, "noooooooooo!" since we wanted to order) and comes back a good 15 minutes later... Still without taking our order for food! In the time it had taken them to do that, the party next to us had gotten their food, eaten, paid the bill, and left. So they finally get our order in, and then after what felt like ages our salads and soups come out. How long does it take? Did they have to make the soup from scratch? The salads sure couldn't have taken that long. But the soup was clam chowder and potato... And those seemed like the kinds that you have a huge vat of somewhere in the kitchen. I'm pretty sure our entrees didn't come until like, 11:30 or something. It doesn't even end there either, but that covers my complaint about this Outback being really. Freaking. Slow. Our food finally comes, and they ask if everything is okay, and we say no, because my sister ordered a filet and what was brought out looks and tastes an awful lot like a sirloin, especially compared to the sirloin my mother had ordered. Yet, our waiter insisted that no, it was a filet despite the fact that it was pretty tough and about half the height of normal filets. So he goes to get the manager, so that SHE can argue with us and give us excuses on how no, that's a filet, Outback gets special cuts of filet and the tenderness depends on the cut and their cuts are "shaped like Australia" which explained why it looked like a sirloin and tasted like not-a-normal-filet (lol). Also, that the chef knew it was a filet because he had to grab one special form the back. But even if it was an actual filet, you should damn well explain to your customers beforehand that its not anything like what they're expecting, especially when a filet cost so much more. And even then... If they're dissatisfied with what they ordered because they were expecting A and you delivered B, you should at least offer something, especially if they've been sitting there for hours already. I think the manager tried to guilt us into not exchanging it because she also kept emphasizing the fact that it would take at least 15-20 minutes because they'd have to turn on the grill (so I don't know how our original order took so long to come out). Didn't work though, nor did she offer any other alternative. The new steak was completely different than the old one too, so I don't know if they screwed up the order or what. But seriously, we shouldn't feel like you graciously turned on the grill and went out of your way to fix the order you screwed up with in the first place. read more

We hadn't been to Outback since the mid-90's. The Palm Coast location had a half-full parking lot on a Monday night so we decided to head on in and see how they progressed in 20 years. Service and seating was quick, efficient, and personable. Drink orders were taken immediately. I asked of the night's specials and was informed of the 'secret' NASCAR promo for a free bloomin' onion. A nice score by the server. Drinks (two middy drafts) arrived quickly along with warm brown bread and butter. The bread was warm and tasty but served with a huge steak knife that crushed the bread when sliced. The butter was ice cold and wouldn't spread. The bloomin' onion was hot, crispy and served with their signature sauce, but there were areas of the onion that had uncooked batter. Quite a turn-off. We ordered the Hand-Carved Roasted Sirloin and Filet Mignon (medium rare), both with loaded potatoes. The potatoes were over-cooked and mushy, almost to the consistency of mashed potatoes. There was minimal loaded goodies on top. Normally I love cutting up the skins and slathering them in butter, but the skin was covered in salt crystals, making it inedible. At least the butter had melted by now. The filet was unevenly cooked, one side was perfectly medium rare while the other was medium well with no pink. Seasoning was appropriate and not over done. Very tender as filet should be but still cooked unevenly. The sirloin was small half-dollar sized medallions that were covered in a dark brown gravy. The gravy had a slight mushroom taste but I couldn't find any mushrooms. The sauce was supposed to be Dijon based. I think they forgot the mustard. It reminded me of powered brown gravy found in a warehouse club. The sirloin was roasted properly, but half of it was tough and chewy. The broccoli served with the sirloin was extremely salty and inedible. Total, before tip, $48, including 2 draft beers. Finishing our beers, we discussed how the meal was mediocre at best. Our friends and co-workers had always raved about Outback and we couldn't see why. Forty-eight dollars is a lot of money for 2 star food. Our server, however, was quick and friendly. We tipped him appropriately as the food is the kitchen's fault, not his. One of their signature items, the bloomin' onion contained uncooked batter. The potatoes, another steak house staple, were over-cooked and salty. The sirloin was tough and slathered in way too much gravy, or 'creamy dijon bistro sauce' as they call it. The filet was cooked unevenly. The bread was sufficiently smashed like a junker at the demolition derby. 2/5 stars As a steakhouse, Outback bombs on the basics. Maybe Monday's are an off night, it doesn't matter, we'll never return. read more
