The grilled chicken now has no taste at all, compared to the light glaze from before. The green beans also lack the flavor that they once had. Broccoli is usually served raw or brown. And what is that stuff you call cornbread? The salad is now just a bowl of iceberg lettuce. On our most recent visit, our waitress was doing her job, no real effort, but she showed up and took the order. As I was eating my salad, I noticed something odd at the side of the bowl. I thought maybe, mashed potatoes? I called the waitress and told her about this foreign matter, and she asked whether I wanted it. I told her I didn't think so. She took it away. I expected a manager to come out and oversee the problem, as they usually did, but no one ever came. I called the waitress over again, and she told me, "They said it was probably just bacon grease in the bowl. I said. "And that makes it ok"? I asked to see the manager." It took a while, but here came a girl who was definitely on kitchen duty, in a stained t-shirt and pants. Definitely not the crisp, checkered shirt and business casual appearance I am used to seeing in a manager. The girl's name tag said "Cassie," I think, and she was a shift supervisor. I told her about the salad, and she repeated that it was probably bacon grease. I told her about the chicken, the broccoli, and the imitation cornbread. She said, "Well, it's coming off your bill, so don't even worry about it. She was done with me. Said OK? And returned to the kitchen". The waitress brought the bill and the enclosed card. We used to love this place. Sadly it's gone downhill the last time I thought maybe it was just a bad night but nope! Dried up chicken tenders, two cold cheeseburgers, and shrimp that seemed like the breaded ones you get in the package at the grocery store only it would taste better made at home cause you could doctor them up. The menu has changed for the worst. They removed the yummy salad with the deviled eggs and cheese. The tenders are 1/2 the size they used to be. Our waitress was wonderful, friendly & thorough. It was a beautiful night and we got to sit outside. I'm Sure breakfast is still good you really can't screw that up so I have high hopes. Our table was clean and we love the store to shop around in and the beautiful fire place. Oh my!! Just to start, I am not a big fan of turkey. It's usually dry and tasteless.....BUT....SUCH A SURPRISE! We treated ourselves to the Thanksgiving day specials-fried turkey and turkey dinner. We had everyone here at home visiting and we were all hungry for breakfast. We ordered from a breakfast web site affiliated to Cracker Barrel , we all ordered something different. I got the breakfast burritos it has bacon and egg cheese sandwiched wrapped in pancake. It was good and different. My daughter ordered fruity cereal pan cakes she loved them so did my wife's blueberry pancakes. But could have had more blueberries. My daughter in law also ordered something like a breakfast macaroni and cheese with bacon topping she loved it with a side order of triangles of beignets with sprinkles of brown sugar, they were delicious .the only thing we could have used more syrup and the food was a little cold by the time it got delivered. read more

This particular Cracker Barrel is conveniently located off of Interstate 95. It offers what Cracker Barrel is known for the, that cool General Store that they have you walk through before going to get your food. It is actually a pretty cool business idea and I have often wondered how much more wrapping you in pulled in by forcing people to walk to that store and how many impulse buys actually happen. I am not the biggest fan of Cracker Barrel. I guess my biggest problem with it it is kind of like the Fridays or Applebee's of southern cooking. You can usually find far better southern cooking from a mom-and-pop local business. However, a lot of my customers seem to like here, so I find myself in here every now and then for a business meeting. I find I prefer breakfast over the other meals I'm a chicken fried steak is not a bad choice. The last time I was in Cracker Barrel for lunch I had the meatloaf. Again, not bad. If you are a fan of Cracker Barrel, you will probably like this particular location. If not, I think you can do better finding a local business, but do not think this is the worst. Obviously, mine is just an opinion and it seems that I am in the minority of people not loving Cracker Barrel. read more

We arrived on a very busy Saturday but had no waiting time for a table which was great. Our waitress Carisa was friendly and very attentive. Our coffee was tasty and hot. We ordered the seasonal cinnamon roll pie breakfast and it was delicious! I have never had a bad meal from Cracker Barrel anywhere in the US until ordering takeout in Palm Coast, FL. The food has always been consistent. I ordered chicken & dumplings with green beans. The Chicken was in the shape of a golf ball dry and tasteless and the dumplings tasted like flour and water. The green beans lacked any of the usual flavor. The mashed potatoes looked and tasted like the ones you get with a TVdinner, not fresh and fluffy. I dont know if the mashed potatoes were old and they were trying to pawn them off on a takeout customer. I don't understand how this meal could have been pushed off as less quality from what I have gotten in house. We stopped on our way to Florida to grab a bite to eat. It was crowded and we had to wait about 10 minutes, but it's easy waiting at Cracker Barrel because they have a cool store. My kid loves to run around and look at all the unique knick knacks and toys. I ordered the meat loaf with beans and the cornbread. The meat loaf was dry and a bit more bland than I would have liked. The baked beans were also bland and they felt a bit too soupy and undercooked. I was actually surprised at how bad the baked beans were. I'm curious if all Cracker Barrel's are like that. The three of us decided that we would go ahead and rate this particular Cracker Barrel a three in the middle of the road if you will. The kitchen chose not to follow instructions provided to them on how things were to be served. For example my friend ordered her bacon extra crispy came out practically raw and they put it on the same plate as the eggs when they were asked not to do that. My kids and I met my parents here for lunch this week. The parking lot was about 3/4 full but we were seated almost immediately. First stop - the bathrooms, very clean and both times it was used, there was an employee in there cleaning up. The food came out in a very reasonable time after ordering. The waitress was on the ball and brought out requested extras (like napkins, butter, etc.) promptly. The food was hot & freshly prepared. My son had a fried chicken BLT, daughter had the apple streusel french toast, parents both had something new - a chopped steak with swiss cheese and mushrooms and a baked sweet potato, and I had my fried chicken livers. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their foods. The livers were prepared differently than other Cracker Barrels though, more like a fritter - smashed flat and heavily breaded. It was good, but I prefer them the regular way, unsmashed with light breading. We all indulged in dessert. Son had the frozen mug caramel sundae, parents had the Coca-cola cake, and daughter and I had the blackberry cobbler. My mom and I swapped bites of the cake and cobbler and I don't know which I liked better - both were served warm with a scoop of ice cream and were incredibly decadent. One thing I love about Cracker Barrels, their cobblers are always more fruit than crust. Found out a nice feature , if you are shopping before dining, the cashiers will hold your items for you behind the counter until you are done. This particular Cracker Barrel's parking lot is nicer than most, due to many older, established trees providing lots of shaded areas - a boon if traveling with a dog. read more

The service at this location was among the best, our server constantly was checking on us and even asked us if we wanted iced tea to go. The corned beef and cabbage is excellent and is served with tasty and tender meat, carrots, potatoes and of course steamed cabbage. Irish food can be bland at times but this was excellent and completely worth a try. The biscuits are always an excellent side dish and the salad isn't bad either. Take a few minutes and check out their store in the front as well.
